I also would not order the potato salad again, which I thought was bland and mushy. Had the rib dinner. Perhaps an off night. About 6 large and meaty ribs that come sauced. They were dried out and probably the worst tasting ribs I have ever had. I highly recommend not ordering them. The 1/2 pound sliced brisket was served in a cup. It was ok but not something I can't wait to try again. I wasn't gonna get dessert, but was intrigued by the "cherry cheese pie". M&M's is amazing!!! My coworkers and I frequent here for work lunches, as it's close, cheap, and delicious. There is no seating and they're not open on Mondays or Tuesdays, just an FYI. Going to be brutally honest here. We dropped a Benji here and I'm sorry but this is some of the worst BBQ I have ever had. When I asked what type of wood they used, the answer was Kingsford Briquettes and man that's exactly what it taste like charcoal briquettes. If you are looking for good wood smoked BBQ, this is NOT it. Brisket and Ribs very very dry and overcooked, same with the pulled pork, dry and tasteless, not even seasoned. Nothing yummy about this meal, not even the sides. We had the Mac & Cheese (Kraft Box is better) and Collard Greens just okay. Didn't even care for the BBQ sauce. Also had the Lumpia, I have had store bought Lumpia better than this. I would have expected hand made to be much better. Key Lime pie was very sad as well. Based on our experience I could not in good conscious recommend this place. They really need some training. Most folks could watch a YouTube video and produce better BBQ. If they would do this, properly season and smoke with some wood, their sales would skyrocket. It is really not that hard to do. This is a small Mom & Pop shop so there is no ambience to comment on, which is fine. If there are any good remarks on here, I would say it has really gone down hill, or the remarks are falsified, or they just have not experienced good BBQ. I really enjoyed this barbeque. Looks like a family run business in a small nondescript strip mall. This is exactly the type of setting you'd expect to find a hidden jewel when it comes to barbeque! My boyfriend and I travel all over the country and like to try BBQ restaurants wherever we go. This was the worst ever. We had a rack of ribs, the Big Mike Sampler (I think that's what it was called) with riblets, pulled pork, chicken and brisket for $50. It was ALL dry and flavorless. it tasted like it was put on the grill with just salt and pepper and left there too long. The brisket also did not even taste like brisket. It tasted more like beef roast. The BBQ sauce tasted like ketchup watered down with water and vinegar and a little salt and pepper. It's a clean tiny little hole in the wall in a small strip mall. We love to order family packs for family meals and bring it home to enjoy all together. Pulled Pork Dinner (3/5, with 2 sides): Pulled pork was my 1st order from this place. It was just OK, nothing really special. Some pieces were dry, but other parts tasted good. Rib Dinner (5/5, 4-5 bone-in with 2 sides): OH MY GOSH. You have to order this. They give you ginormous pieces with actual tender ribs. So good. I think it's one of the best ribs I've had in my life. To be honest, these became the only thing I order now that I don't care trying for the other items. Potato Salad (3/5): It's just ok. Not the best I've had. Really had high hopes for this place! I went on a Friday when they do fish fry. I sat in my car for 15 minutes as it cooked. I ended up getting fish that was overdone... They had smokers in the back. I've read several reviews that there were flies, but on my visit there wasn't any. I believe they fixed that problem, as we went on a day that was pretty hot and I didn't see any. Let's get to the food: The ribs are the bomb. (who uses that phrase anymore?) We ordered a good amount of food, that it lasted us a good couple of meals. We got the ribs, the pulled pork, some chicken, and beef tips. The ribs as mentioned before were amazing. I felt as if the beef tips were a little too salty, so not quite my favorite as that goes. The chicken and pulled pork were nothing amazing that stood out. All in all, this will be my go to if I'm too lazy to drive and if I'm in the mood for bbq. Check this place out if you live near here, just know that its all take out. It's a tiny take out joint with a ton of bbq options. The surprising part was lumpia. Talk about a random addition to a southern menu. The women at the window was Filipino so that explains the lumpia. They have two options for the lumpia which both contains meat - sorry veggie heads. I ordered the lumpia with shrimp and I could barely taste shrimp. It came with sweet and sour sauce but I didn't use it. I really wanted to order the sample platter but had no one to share it with so I ordered the Shanti dinner of pulled pork and chicken with Mac and cheese and collared greens. They were quite cheap on the cheese..it was macaroni with a sprinkle of cheese. I didn't have high expectations for the collared greens since I rarely order it. But the green beans are surprisingly excellent. I never enjoyed green beans before! They make their green beans with chunks of meat so maybe that's why it tasted better? I also tried the Whiting fish which was deep fried and eh. Maybe it's the type of fish that made it less satisfying? Usually anything deep fried is tasty but this wasn't. The pulled pork was my favorite. I think I understand why people love pulled pork now. It wasn't dry and absorbed the sauce perfectly. The chicken was dry though. I really wanted to try the ribs since it's recommended by a lot of previous reviews. The portion was huge for the price you pay. This could definitely be split for two or two meals. The hot sauce is actually pretty mild and kinda sweet but I liked it. The baked beans were an excellent side but I would pass on the mac and cheese. I really enjoy walk-up restaurants and wasn't bothered by the lack of seating. Given the suburban location, I can understand the lack of outdoor seating. The menu is written on a series of whiteboards tacked up around their patio including a list of the sides that are available that day. The staff was friendly and service was really quick.
