For the past two years, our tax person is never available outside of tax season, which leaves others not familiar with our tax account to respond. And the responses have been short, rude, and non-effective. As a direct non-response from my tax person and no one at Fax Tax willing to genuinely assist, I was fined fees this year because of the lack of willingness to assist and not providing with proper information!! We have a history of stellar tax payments. We will be finding a new tax service.

If I were an artist, this is the first place I'd go--especially around tax time. What I love about Fox tax is that they truly live what they do. Not only do they help artists on the business logistical side, but also in promotion as the space also functions as a gallery. Stop by an opening and you will be pleasantly surprised by the high quality artist on display. More than likely beating will be spinning and drinks will be available for a nominal donation. When I was there on Friday, there were lots of new parents as well, which was nice to see. Thankfully they left the strollers at home and just had the kids in the baby carriers. Considering the artist on spotlight was Ink, who is famous for crazy murals around town, I'm sure the kids got an eyeful!

I reached out to Junk360 via their website request for estimate and got a prompt response. A couple emails later a pickup date and time was set. On the day of the pickup I received a call, as I was told to expect, telling me they were on the way. The crew was on time, professional, courteous. I presume it was a light load for them but they had everything out in just a few minutes. Less than half an hour from parking the truck to closing it up. I'm glad I used Junk360.

From…read morewhat I've seen of other mechanics, Brausen is more on the expensive side, but they do it right. I appreciate their honesty and the fact that they don't call me "sweetheart" when I walk in the door. I appreciate their recommendations like "If you're just driving around town, this will be fine, but if you're traveling out of state, you need this fixed," and "We could fix this now but it won't negatively affect your brakes and it would cost you a lot of money. Otherwise, we could fix it when you get your brakes replaced and you'll save on labor." (Paraphrased, but these are real things they've said that have been helpful.) It's clear to me that they care about their customers and value customer loyalty over a quick extra buck. Also love the free car wash tickets you get with an oil change.

My daughter and I had an excellent experience with Modern Press -- A+++…read more THE JOB: My young daughter just started a small business and she needed a small number of custom stickers printed...3000 stickers for her packaging (1000 each of 3 different sizes), 2 colors, die cut to a custom size. She had her digital files ready for a printer. Since she's a minor and a high school student, I helped her get all of this stuff done. THE QUOTE: We quickly found that her printing job was in a customer service black hole. Mostly, the problem was the die cutting. Her job was too big and complex for strip mall places like FedEx Office and for small mom & pop Twin Cities print shops. And her job was too small for big printers like Japs-Olson. We got a quote on-line with Jakprints too. They gave us what I call a "screw you" quote of $1500 because they didn't really want to do her job. What? That would cost $1.50 per container! That's more than she pays for the container itself! THE REFERRAL: A friend referred us to Modern Press. He said that if anyone in the Twin Cities would do it, it's Modern Press. Wow, what a great referral. They did the whole job for just under 700 bucks. And even though this is a small job for them, they treated us like royalty! The owner, Kelley Frain, was informative, helpful, and very nice to us. He spent a lot of time with us, and he gave us a tour of the facility and a brief history of his company. FAQS: Modern Press keeps prices low by, among other things, not having a graphics department. (So you have to provide your design files ready to go.) And they don't have a big sales staff. (The owner is the only sales person.) Kelley is a second generation owner at Modern Press, started in 1980. And Kelley is also the fourth generation printer in his family. Great-grandpa was a printer too. Apparently, printer ink pumps through the veins of the Frain family! MORE FAQS: In addition to doing nearly every type of printing you can think of, they have a mailing service. They seem to do nearly everything, big or small. (Check out their display rack when you visit.) Kelley told us that currently, on the small size, they're working on several wedding invitation jobs with only about 200 pieces each. But they also have a multi-million dollar job for Revlon that will fill several semi-trailer trucks with printed material. Wow! After the print job, the pages had so much bleed-through, we couldn't even use them. They didn't care and blamed us for not adjusting the content so the bleed wouldn't matter. Their customer service was awful. The owner, Gerald Frain, only cares about one thing: MONEY. You can find a much better option than Modern Press.
