My wife and I stopped by this store before our reservation at a restaurant nearby. She was looking for a dress to wear for her graduation and wanted to see their selections. When we walked in a worker greeted us and let us know they are here to answer any questions. They have a nice selection of summer clothes out on display and my wife like one of the dress on display. It was more toward the pricer end so she didn't purchase it. But then she saw a earring that matches her necklace and really wanted it. So I told her to wait until after we eat before buying just if she changed her mind. She didn't so we went back after our dinner and she purchased the earrings. One of the best boutiques ever. There are locations in Calabasas, Studio City, Del Rey, Westlake, Ventura, and Agoura Hills. The stores are limited to Southern California; so, when I first moved to Los Angeles and began to explore (shopping is an activity that I just can't help but do everyday, whether I had it in mind to do or I had a full day in my "planner" ...actually, back in 2007, I did have a big "At-a-Glance" planner with an entire page per day... Anyway, I stumbled upon the Calabasas Commons because I had looked up in that app, "Around Me" and found that close to one of my three jobs I worked while going to School for my Doctorate, the Calabasas Commons was on my way home from work to where I lived in West Hollywood. I stopped by right away because it mentioned a Barnes & Noble being one of the stores there. First, I spotted M. Fredrick. I saw those gorgeous, hand-picked by their buyer. I didn't realize quite how much less expensive ever was in LA compared to San Francisco. Now, this many years later, it's no longer a thought nor a thing because I've lived here so long, but it was astonishing to me back when I was freshly 22. I picked out about 20-25 pieces of the most beautiful jeans, sweaters, shirts, shoes, tank tops and dresses. I also bought a pair of sweatpants that felt like thick silk, but mostly, like a white tiger- they were the first thing I bought the next morning on my break from work; so, I vividly remember that they were $600 before tax, which, to be honest, I did think they were on the pricey side, but I didn't think of it again. The many items I had purchased the afternoon prior came to almost $23,000, but I never ever in my life looked at prices of anything, so, it was no thing and to this day, I remember probably 7/8ths of what I bought. The clothes were definitely worth it and I would do it again, even now. The only problem is that they don't make clothes how they used to. We don't have the materials or aren't willing to use them on designer boutique clothing. Every chance I could, I went to an M. Fredric store for the next 10 years. read more

I like a lot of their merchandise however there is almost always one over zealous salesperson who needs to follow me around and suggest things and annoy me until I want to leave. I've been shopping with this company for many years but maybe train the sales people to let people look if they are saying they don't need help. It's way too over the top and drives me right out of the store. The one lady I will say is always great is the tiny blonde lady who has been there years at this location. She is helpful without being pushy. Otherwise nice selection but some items are overly pricey. read more

This store used to have excellent customer service. The salepersons were attentive and friendly. The last 3 times I stopped in the new young women working there are doing nothing but chatting with one another, laughing loudly among themselves and spoke no greeting or offer of assistance. As I was making my purchase the person processing my sale spoke non stop to another employee about some personal life event, never looked up or spoke to me until saying goodbye as she handed me the bag. What's going on? Management needs to get these employees trained that the customer is the reason you're there, it's not spilling the tea with your high school girlfriends out in the quad! read more

Thank you sales ladies at M.Fredric for deciding to lock the doors at 6:30 and not opening them when seeing a customer try to pull them open. I received a texted from them for buy one get one 1/2 off for today. They are supposed to close at 7PM and decided to close early! They did not care to open the door while standing 3 ft from the door. I've only been inside a M. Fredric store a few times over the years... and recall I only purchased one mini skirt from M. Fredric - it was years ago in Studio City? But this distressed star sweater caught my attention since I happened to be wearing my frayed distressed star jeans today! I slipped on the sweater (too lazy to go in dressing room) and it's definitely a perfect match. My STARRY outfit - nearly head to toe, hahahaha! The sales girls are helpful and friendly. read more

So disappointed. Replaced a product from here and the same product fell apart again within 30 days of purchase. Who wants to return something twice? And when I replaced it the first time, that experience was incredibly awkward? Like I was trying to "score" or something? Being scrutinized by some bird who obviously hates returns. M.fredric has always been the best clothing store around. I started going when they opened in Studio City, bought my favorite outfits there, for myself and my children. Moved to Calabasas, and then to Westlake Village. Their excellent taste and quality selections make shopping fun without getting overwhelmed. I'm on a budget but found out it's worth it to pay a bit more for things I love! Their children's/baby section also cannot be beat! I cannot leave empty handed! This is a review for the WH and Calabasas stores, the sales teams are so helpful and really go out of their way. I purchased a dress a dress at the Calabasas location and realized it had a snag in it when I got home, went into to Woodland Hills store the next morning, the team took care of it immediately and mailed me a new one within days to my home and helped me pick out an additional dress for an occasion later that day. Terrible customer service. All the ladies working here give off the immediate vibe they are better then any customer walking in. I've tried giving this place the benefit of the doubt, but time and time again i get the same lousy stuck up sales girls. Those coupon incentives aren't really worth It either, as well as their incredibly bad return policy. 10 days?! What world do you still live in, 1990?! There's a fabulous mall right next door with sales people far more then happy to help with return policies much easier for any working person. Last time i returned something hade they changed the value of my coupon. Pretty sure you're supposed to earn a coupon no matter how much or less is spent. Also, being that it was close to closing, i know the sales girl was just too lazy to do the math for my new coupon after returning one item from my purchase. I've worked in retail before and i know what's good/bad service. I walked into the store to take a look around not with the intention to buy but I saw some cute Levi shorts and i wanted to try them on. So i grabbed them and this sales associates keeps following me around the store fixing up every single thing i looked at. She was at the same rack i was in just waiting for me to move. She never asked me if i needed a fitting room even though i clearly had something in my hand. I would ask her about other sizes and colors to some of the merchandise and she had the worst attitude and acted like it took so much energy to answer. When ever I'm treated well and given good customer service I will literally go out of my way to support that business and keep buying. But now i understand why this place is always SO lonely. I've been into this particular M.Fred a few times, but lately, there's just something about it that's...better. I've found the staff to be more welcoming and engaged, genuine and friendly. Of course, maybe it was the fact that it was a nice day and Valentine's Day was coming, or maybe it was just the little tattooed blonde who helped me (Stacey, I think) who made me feel like this was a Yelp-worthy five star experience.
