We called them for a leaking irrigation pipe under a brick wall footing in the front yard. I tried to start the repair myself but quickly realized I needed someone to take care of this for me. It was to tough for me. They sent Josh to dig a tunnel under my brick wall and chip out some concrete as well. He worked very hard and got everything done in about 4 hours. Pricing was very reasonable and the owners both came by to make sure everything was going well. I very much recommend them. I know good people when I meet them. These are good people. This is a review for ONLY my first impression phone call with Mike Goldman (owner) that I had today; I will update if we decide to move forward with his company. I sent a written request for a quote through Yelp to several general contractors for a lot of work we will be doing on a new home in PS. His assistant proactively called me and connected me to Mike on the phone, so I did not have to reach out myself. Most other companies wrote back, "Yeah, I can do the work. Call me." eh. Nothing really wrong with that, but if I wanted to call, I would have and if you want the business...make it happen. I respect that they reached out to me, making it easier on me. What I appreciated from today's call is: *his VERY down to earth demeanor; I could see getting along with Mike very easily. *Mike took close to thirty minutes of his time to talk me through his style, and giving me specific ideas he would suggest for the remodel just based off the pictures from the property listing I sent. Awesome and appreciated. This gives me a chance to see how his mind works and if we would be a good match for such a large job. This got his foot in the door and made me decide to get a rough quote from him, which I am only doing with three total companies. *He stressed two things that he specifically addresses which are a notorious problem in this industry - (1) he is value conscious, suggesting alternatives to what you want to do so YOU can choose what you want to spend and where you may want to save....AND (2) he stays to the budget you give him probably more than his customers do. These are invaluable things to consider as he is promising to be done when says he will and on budget. HUGE. His work has been on TV shows and has many jobs being done simultaneously - all due to word of mouth, no real advertising. Other thing to note is he doesn't do pools, but will refer you to a few people that are good that he has worked with before. I am getting three total quotes, including from Mike, and ...so far, I am impressed. read more

Outstanding! Mike Goldman sets the bar for all other General Contractors in my experience -- and I've worked with many both personally and professionally. My spouse and I hired M Goldman General Maintenance (MGGM) to complete significant renovations to our Mid-century Palm Springs home -- complete exterior stucco and paint, complete interior drywall and paint, concrete floor refinishing throughout the house, and two full bathroom rip/replace with new fixtures, floor to ceiling tile, and shower glass. MGGM was super impressive to me from the start. All five of Mike Goldman's sub-contracted businesses (paint, drywall, stucco, concrete, tile) arrived on-time to meet him on-site for an estimate walk through. Then, Mike delivered his bid and schedule within 24 hours. Remarkably, MGGM completed my project within that originally estimated budget and on time! In fact, they would have finished early if not for a hiccup with the concrete floor finish. Even in that difficult situation, Mike Goldman successfully advocated for us with his sub-contractor until we were happy. Communication was top notch and consistent with Mike's positive and effective leadership. MGGM always either picked up our calls or responded to messages promptly. They were proactive -- either Mike Goldman or someone from MGGM checked in with us regularly to communicate where they were with the project and what, if anything, they needed from us to continue moving forward. I should have written this review earlier, but the delay now provides us the opportunity to complement MGGM's longer term value. The materials and craftsmanship are proving strong. Since completing the project fifteen months ago, we are still very happy with MGGM's quality of work -- no problems and nothing to suggest there will be. Michael and his awesome team installed a shower valve, they had to cut through the drywall in the room behind the shower and later patch it and paint. It looks like nothing ever happened to the drywall. Shower valve works great, the hose and head ncluded as courtesy. Small drywall job, the kind most companies run away from. Not the case with Michael Goldman's General Maintenance. Best thing I can say is that from my very first call to the day the job was completed, his office staff and work crew were exactly what you hope to find when hiring a company to do work inside your home! I got through to someone on the first call which was awesome. They in turn took my information and I received a second call to schedule the work soon after that same day. The crew showed up right on time to assess the job and explain exactly how the work would be done, how much time was needed, etc. All being more than reasonable, we agreed on the price to do the work. I've often found with drywall work in particular, it can be tricky because it isn't usually the type of job that can be done in one quick visit. There are several stages of floating and sanding with drying time in between. Then there's always the issue of paint. Michael's crew was able to repair the softball size hole in my hallway wall in two relatively quick visits, both in the same day. The kicker for me however was that they offered to paint the area with a sample that they brought back after having the color on a piece of the existing drywall matched. No problem they said. Just a great attitude and quality work all the way around. Wouldn't hesitate to call again. Thanks guys, great job! read more

With the help of their vision and expertise, we had them literally knock down walls, raise the kitchen ceiling 6 inches, install new drywall, demo and re-tile showers, fabricate and install granite, move plumbing and install new fixtures & farm house sink, install over 30 LED recessed lights, install a custom electric fireplace, change plugs & switches, scrape ceilings, re-texture walls, and repaint. Mike, Jenn and their team performed some repairs of our mid-century vacation home in Palm Springs. This included replacement of wood siding, stucco work, and painting. The entire team was responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process. Mike was very upfront that he was working under another contractor's license at the start. They started and finished the project on a timely basis and their workers could not have been nicer and more thorough. Our house has four owners and they were equally responsive to any question or request. Our house looks great again with all the work and Mike and his team landed an additional job from a neighbor across the street because they liked the work as well. They want you to be happy and we count ourselves as lucky. It's often difficult to find a team that does great work, shows up when they say they will and get it done at a fair price. You might think it's crazy to hire a contractor off of Yelp, especially if you're not located in the same city where the home you are remodeling is located and you have to trust so many decisions to the person you hire and hope that they're going to show up and deliver what they promise. I bought a house that came with an exterior shower for rinsing off before/after getting in the pool. It was an eyesore so it had to go. I called Mike and he came by later that day to give me an estimate (very reasonable). Scheduled a day for the work to get done, and that was that.
