So another early morning donut run, this time in Placentia. The donuts seem pretty fresh when I walked in and they had a decent amount for $1.50 each which was fairly cheap! I got the Coconut and Cinnamon donuts, which were good! Will be back for more donuts in the future!

This one in photo has decent chocolate but many times I've gotten ones that are scant on the chocolate part.

I'm leaving 1 star off because they used to always have the best marble donuts but lately the marble donuts have been very subpar. It used to be a white vanilla glaze with decent amount of chocolate frosting parts and was always soft and fresh but also light and somewhat hollow inside which made them fluffy and good. Now they are more heavy and taste a tad stale and more hard, and the white vanilla glaze is now barely there and is like a light regular glaze with a little less chocolate on it too, it's too dense and not fluffy or soft. It just seems less fresh and less flavorful than it used to be. I'm not sure what changed but it was better before.

Yummy donuts and friendly customer service! I had a craving for some apple fritters so decided to pop by MJ's Donuts in hopes of satisfying that craving. I ordered 3 apple fritters ($2 each) however, the lady behind the counter encouraged me to get a half dozen since they throw in a free extra donut for each half dozen order. I also ordered a dozen donut holes ($1.50) so I ended up with 3 apple fritters, 1 cake donut, 3 yeast donuts and a dozen donut holes for $10.50! Their prices are so reasonable, their customer service is great, and the donuts are fresh and delicious. The apple fritters were crispy on the outside with a soft doughy interior - just the way I like it! So glad to have a great local donut shop nearby. I will definitely be back when my next donut craving hits.

If you want a donut spot that you can just grab and go this is it! Not really any seating inside, but a few chairs outside. The woman that helped us was so generous, she gave us extra donuts and when my husband was curious about a flavor she gave it to us to try for free! The donuts and croissants were delicious!

The regular glazed donut. Was really fluffy and good. Not at all dried

Wanted to grab some donut holes along w donuts for my kids Saturday morning while heading out to run errands. Met Siv the nice owner along w his sweet wife Lina. Love this local mama papa shop indeed. I've come here a few times. It's conveniently located off Imperial Highway, so easy access for mee to grab some scrumptious donuts while otw out towards Brea. Located in same plaza as Carl's Jr. Literally right behind the restaurant and also same plaza as Paul's Kitchen & my waxing place, Nena's Waxing. Lots of parking right in the front or in the plaza. The owners are really social. Love how they were both out there serving their customers and engaging. Lina had a regular customer in there enjoying his coffee along w his donuts. There are a few tables inside to enjoy your sweet treats. The donut shop is a bit old fashion. Donuts are soft & good. Even a few days afterwards. Pricing is great. It's just a small donut shop with the usual regular donuts and sprinkle donuts. No big design or anything. Your Basic donuts needs that'll Satisfy you

Tasty and fresh, pretty good donuts. They are $10/dozen and they throw in one extra donut, so it is cheaper than most other donut places. However, it is only the regular donuts and you don't get the cream and jelly filled donuts. The menu did say big donuts are $16/dozen, so I assume you'll get them if you order those. Place is on the way to my work, so I'll try to stop by more often and get some donuts for my coworkers.

I must admit, I was lured over by someone else's photo here on Yelp of a blueberry donut, so thank you for that ;) It was mid-morning when I arrived, so the cases reflected that the most popular items had been snatched up by the early birds, but there were still plenty of donuts and bagels to choose from. Best of all, there were still blueberry cake donuts to be had!! Donuts are similar to potato chips in that you can't just get one. I also ended up with a maple old fashioned and a raised that was dipped in maple glaze and further adorned with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal. I'm saving the old fashioned for tomorrow (I figure of the 3, this one will do best on the second day). The blueberry cake with blueberry glaze was perfect with my morning coffee ~ I'd definitely pair these two together again! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch raised was light and fluffy, the cereal giving it a nice added crunch, and it was a much appreciated afternoon treat. The girl working the front of the store was very friendly and didn't look at me funny as I started snapping pics of the shop to go along with my review. When she finished my transaction, she went over to finish chatting with a customer. When I noticed a few ceramic coffee mugs hanging on the wall, I asked if they belonged to their regular customers. Indeed they were, one of whom she happened to be chatting with. Gotta love that! I left Donut Chain not just pleased to have scored a blueberry glazed donut, but also happy to witness the genuine, easygoing rapport that the employee and customer were enjoying.

Their donuts may not be overly fancy, but they are consistently fresh and delicious. There were 2 croissants left and I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. There were a few donuts and I asked for the maple bar. She rang my order up and went into the back to prepare the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. It was ready a few minutes. The croissant breakfast was very good. I quickly polished it off. Followed by the maple bar. It was tasty as well. Prices were reasonable. My only complaint, if you could call it that, was the lack of selection for the donuts. But to be fair at noon a donut shop isn't likely to sell enough more in the afternoon to justify making up any additional batches. Id return, especially for the croissant breakfast sandwich.

Since the little guy goes to school near Avalon, we haven't been coming here lately, but when my better half had a birthday wish for a breakfast burrito, it was the first place we thought of. I ordered online and it was VERY easy. I got a breakfast burrito with egg whites, chose ham as my meat and was able to customize (example: less hashbrowns and 1 extra salsa on the side) to my liking. I also ordered a maple old fashioned because why not! I arrived at YLS and was greeted by someone right away. Told her about my order and she had it all ready. Total aside, I did notice that they changed the signs and it looks really good. The whole place looks lighter, brighter and cleaner. I will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, when I got there (about mid-morning) most of the better donuts were gone. I did get a crumb donut that was very good, and a chocolate filled which also was good. I guess my problem was paying nearly $5.00 for 2 donuts, and it was at a walk up window. Coming from Oregon, and paying about $3.50 for 2 donuts, I can see why people are leaving California. The cost of everything is out of control. Like 3 chili cheese dogs at Weinersnitchel for $12.50. It just nuts!!!

BEST DONUTS EVER!!!!!!!!!…read more I grew up on A.K's. Donuts. My Dad would bring me here before school and we would have a donut together. Now as an adult I still stop here when in town just to taste the sweet memories. That is exactly what my wife and I did last week. I picked out a Apple Fritter that I ate so fast, I never even got a picture lol. As always there was apples in every bite. I also had to get a cinnamon roll because they are the best. The cinnamon rolls here are coated with a good amount of glaze but it isn't overly sweet so it is good. They don't skimp on the cinnamon either. My wife had a Bear Claw (her fav here) and could only eat half so I had to do my duty and finish it. The thing melts in your hand when you even pick it up. The bear claw looks big and heavy but it is light, soft, and just plain good. The apples inside are just a bonus. Prices range from .80 cents, .85 cents, .95 cents, and $1.25 for donuts. You make your purchase at the window (no inside entry) and they clearly display all the fresh donuts they have at the moment in the window. There is some seating outside if you are lucky enough to grab a spot from one of the regulars but I have eaten most of my fair share right in my own car in the parking lot.

Staff were unfriendly, avoided eye contact, and there's very little effort to make customers feel welcome. The decision to use a kiosk for drink orders is a real misstep. A small, independent café lives and dies by the personal connections it builds with regulars. A screen can't replace that warmth or build loyalty. If they want to survive long-term, investing in genuine hospitality would make a world of difference. Overall, it's the service that's the standout issue here, and until that changes, it's hard to recommend.
