I ended up having to call 3 times until I was able to speak with the owner Vahe (sp? ; I'm not sure if he's related to Raj, the previous owner apparently) who refused to give me an estimate over the phone and said he had to 'plug it into my estimate software.' After some additional quibbling, he finally told me that it would probably cost around $600-700 dollars. This amount of money for a simple door and hood swap is ridiculous! It's something I could do on my own time but I just don't live in a place that allows for mechanic work (apartment complex) or access to all the tools. I recall Raj was way nicer and professional about it rather than trying to sound like a used car salesman and sleaze their way into bringing my car to the shop (I would have to ask a friend to bring the spare parts to be swapped since they don't fit in my car, at which point would be difficult to decline the job). Really, really disappointed and I don't think I can recommend this place again. *Update* Very interesting that the owner chose to respond so quickly upon my updated review. Their claim was factually false, as reasons to bring in my car were never discussed over the phone and he repeatedly just stated that he would be plugging in and quoting me whatever his estimate software produced. In fact, they have a button where you can request an estimate right on their Yelp page which makes it even more unbelievable. Would re-iterate to avoid this place like the plague since the new owners obviously did not carryover the honest work from the previous ones.

However it died unexpectedly @ a ' ' Refueling Stop ' in Berkeley @ the GAS STATION on Shattuck @ Ashby. Luckily they have a Mechanic Shop in there, and the fellow in there obliged me with a " Jump Start ". Mysterious why it had died suddenly then was ' back up ' Performing Beautifully !!!! Despite which I needed a Battery & Alternator Check to Satisfy Myself Fully that All is Well. Called Mr. Hamza @ Yen's Auto to explain the situation. He suggested I bring it in ASAP for a " Charging System Check " - which I did the same day about 4 weeks ago. Him and his Assistant Mr. AFSAND , who I'd dealt with previously , had me pop the hood to connect their Meter Etc giving my Charging System ' A CLEAN BILL Of Health. When I dropped off my car, I was told it would be ready around 12:30-1:00 p.m. and that I'd receive a call when it was done. I decided to stick around the area. At 1:00 p.m., after waiting two hours, I walked back to check on the status and found that they hadn't even started working on my car. When I told them I was leaving, the employee suddenly asked if I could wait another 10-15 minutes because he could "start it now". So frustrating. My scheduled appointment meant absolutely nothing until I complained and I was not interested in a rushed oil change... If your business can't honor appointment times, don't offer appointments. Respect your customers' time. I would not recommend taking your business here. I certainly won't be back.

I walked around to a few local cafes to grab a snack and by the time I returned, the car was ready! What I appreciate is that the shop is clearly run by a "car person". I needed to install aftermarket wheels and new tires and provided the parts I have and he immediately came up with solutions and pricing when I asked. I was worried about other shops damaging the face of my new wheels but Kia ensured it was done properly. Love that Kia took his time to explain the process and was straight to the point and secured the appointment right away. At the time of appointment, Kia took in my car and provided me with updates when he ran into issues over the phone and had possible solutions to provide right away. When I picked up my car, he explained what else I needed to ensure my vehicle is properly set up. He ensured my alignment was up to par along with suggested new lug nuts with my wheel being too big for the OEM lugs.
