I am pretty disappointed with M Nail n Spa Salon. I went here yesterday to get a simple gel mani and pedi for an event I have upcoming. As someone who is not local to Connecticut, I took a chance on M Nail Spa. Immediately, I was horrified at the lack of care for basic hygiene and cleanliness. Their pedicure tubs were unsanitary. They do not put a plastic sheet over the pedicure tub and I saw them lazily scrub the tub for 2 seconds with a dirty sponge and then rinse it off with water for the next person. The water was also freezing and no jets were going? Not wanting to get athletes foot, but still wanting to get a pedicure, I didn't put my feet in the water. I tried to not make a big scene but ended up telling them why I didn't want to put my feet in after they kept urging me to put them in the water. The women working there did NOT like that and I felt judged and uncomfortable ever since that moment. The women had a real attitude problem and were giving me and my family side eye the entire time. After my lackluster, stressful, and bad pedicure, I waddled over to get my fingers done. I will give credit where credit is due, the woman who did my nails did it really well! I love my fingernails and the color is beautiful. Now here is where it really crashes and burns... after I paid and tipped $20.. the woman had the audacity to ask for more of a tip!! Yeah.. NEVER AGAIN. I walked in on a Sunday at 4 for a full set. The girl wasn't very friendly or sociable. I love the ambiance , it is very clean and relaxing. Long story short in less than a week my nails started to lift!! It looked like I had some cheap press on nails. I paid $110 for this full set including tip so for them to look like this by Friday , I was very upset. I walked in and informed one older woman that my nails were lifting. She told me to hold on and I sat there for 15 minutes . I had to say "excuse me is someone going to re do my nails". Then the girl "Ara" from last time said " I am coming " that right there was a turn off. All they had to say was I am sorry she will be right with you. She never apologized for my nails messing up. Blamed me saying possibly too many oils. I told her I have never heard such a thing.I decided to get a French instead and was not charged thank god. Great 2 min foot massage, but was charged for a spa pedicure without asking and didn't get the best paint job (pic attached).This was my second visit, the first visit we were over charged for shellac fingers and toes. I called and asked the rate after we left and it was much lower than what we paid. I wouldn't have gone back if they didn't do a good job. Well, it happened again and when I questioned the rate they told me because I had a spa pedicure...um...it lasted 15 mins and you washed my feet, how is this different than a regular pedicure? I had been here before and their quality has reduced so much.. I did French pedicure and paid almost 50$ for that. The pedicure was the shortest I ever had. Completed within 15 mins. Ya you get parafin wax and 30 sec shoulder message but you get better elsewhere. Also I sat for the polish to get dried and only when they said I can leave, I left. Awful. I used to recommend this place to everyone. They are under new management and are awful. They got rid of the complimentary paraffin wax treatment for pedicures and have significantly let me down in on 2 additional different occasions recently. The first was for a pedicure (walk in). The salon was completely empty. There was 3 works all on their phones when I waked in. I asked for a pedicure and was told to come back in an hour, I understand that they may have had some appointments coming in, but to see all technicians doing nothing and not accepting me was a little frustrating. I came in a second time, to get my gel nails removed (which I didn't get done there but figured they could handle the removal, Which requiring soaking my nails... ) There were a few customers, but two open technician and they asked me to come back in an hour, again.. A basic pedicure runs you $32 and you don't get the great foot clean up including the warm wax on your heels... that will cost extra. Pedicures now run about $40. If you do ask for the basic pedicure they give you the fastest treatment and you're in and out in 20ish minutes. I'll go somewhere else from now on. My go to nail salon! The place is clean and updated inside and the staff is nice! I would recommend calling ahead for an appointment on weekends because they tend to get busy. They don't have a to. Of gel nail colors to choose from which stinks and can become boring using the same colors all the time but there are a ton of the regular nail polish colors. They use good brands- all OPI and Essie! They actually message your legs and feet when you get a pedicure here, unlike a lot of places that move their hands up and down two times on your feet. read more

They are now under new management and I'm not impressed. The salon looks very similar to the old management and it has retained a pleasing atmosphere. I didn't think the actual pedicure was as good as it used to be and I missed the honey scrub. I agree with some of the other reviews that the old management didn't do a great polish job and this one is meticulous. I haven't ruled them out but, the fact that my heels are still dry does have me thinking twice about my loyalty. After a week one of my cuticles still hurts. I love that the plush is still looking brand new but, I won't be back. I have NEVER had a manicure where my cuticles were cut in a way that makes my entire nail hurt for a week. I was messing around with my well painted nail and determined that my finger hurts so bad because my nail was infected from where they cut me. I was unhappy before but, now. The massage, if that was what you'd call it, lasted a minute. She brought out a hot stone and never used it. I've spent that at other salons for far superior service. I had a bizarre experience here. It was the shortest manicure/pedicure of my life. The pedicure was done in less than twenty minutes and all in (including drying time) I was out of there in 45 minutes. There was very little care or attention paid to nail care. They spent the majority of the time working on the massage, which is great, I love a good foot massage. However, the polish was hastily slapped on and did not stay on well over the next week. The place seemed quite clean and is pleasant to look at. The prices were normal for these types of services in the area. If I ever need an extremely fast pedicure I know where to go. My husband and I went in there on 10/1/2021 for a pedicure. Both of us agreed at the end, that it was just OK. I then had a manicure. Within 2 minutes of the start, I yelped in pain as the woman took an instrument and injured my right pinky finger. It began to turn red immediately. The woman did all she could to disinfect the area. I continued with the manicure. It was not 'just Ok' it was awful. Two days later, the finger is still sore. I called, but the minute I asked for the owner, I was hung up upon. I have been shopping around for a new decent nail place since a place I liked closed, being in a similar "spa" industry myself I know what I'm looking for. I tried M nail, needed a full set of gel nails. my nail Tech was nice and also could tell experienced (she's the only reason I gave one star at all) however the atmosphere here was extremely dull, no other customer on a Friday. Like soul draining! They did not use an electric filer and filed each nail each time by hand which took FOREVER (an hour & a half) my nails came out pretty good. (Average, slightly un even and a few cut cuticles)When the girl told me the price I had to ask her to repeat 3xs because I swore I had to be hearing wrong!! $90.92!!!!!!!!! I have never ever heard of such a price in the 25+ yrs I've been getting my nails done!! Completely ripped off! There was NOTHING about a regular gel set of NAILS (that last 2wks) that should EVER COST THAT MUCH! EVER! She used USED files on me, used utensils (that were sanitized in a sealed bag)over priced is an understatement! I will NEVER give my business to any place that I feel is all about how to scam their clients! The owner should be ashamed. Very nice and clean looking salon. I'll start by saying that this was honestly the best pedicure I've ever had and also the gel manicure I got here lasted over 2 weeks. The only negative is how expensive it is. While the pedicure was honestly lovely I believe it was around $60. For the gel nails and pedicure my bill was almost $100. The boards that are up only advertise the spa pedicures so I did not really even feel there was a normal/less expensive option. I don't usually take the time to write a review, and usually I will read a review if I'm checking out a place for the first time but on this day I was in a rush and I was lucky enough to be able to be a walk in to get a pedicure with my friend and my daughter. I was impressed with the looks of the salon but that's where it ends. My daughters "manicure" was just a polish change and my friend and I both agreed that we had a terrible experience! It was by far the worst pedicure I ever got! I did the $38 pedicure which is a couple dollars cheaper than what I usually pay for a pedicure. It was supposed to include a 10 minute reflexology massage. What I got was three swipes of a hot stone on each calf. I had regular toenail polish on, but I wanted gel polish, which I did get, I was charged $25 extra for gel polish! WHAT??!!! I have NEVER paid a $25 up charge for gel polish, especially given the fact that She only had to remove regular polish! The women who did our pedicures were borderline rude and didn't speak to us at all, well the women doing mine did say "pick color" when she plopped a basket of samples in my lap.. they both seemed bothered the entire time. Maybe that would be understandable at the end of a long day. I have a lot of respect for those who work to make others feel pampered but this was at 9:00 am. We were the first customers of the day. This is the first salon where I've had my nails done in Manchester, and it's now the only one I frequent. There's rarely a wait, unless you come after 5 PM (I've only been turned away once.). As previous Yelpers have stated, the price of the manicures and pedicures include a shoulder rub, paraffin wax, and a hot stone massage (for pedicures). To me, this salon is well-worth the prices. Today, I had a gel manicure, and the manicurist was very gentle. My previous manicurist in North Carolina constantly made my cuticles bleed, but I've never had that problem here. My friend and I went into this place on a whim to get a pedicure and it was the best find ever! Not only is the place very clean and sophisticated looking, it doesn't have that nail salon smell. They have big cushy massage chairs, and the basic pedicure includes leg and foot scrub, foot and leg massage, and a neck and shoulder massage while you are drying. All for $30! We had expected to pay close to $50, which we would have gladly paid. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. read more

Went here today for a gel manicure. The place was very clean and more upscale than some of the mall nail salons. There were no other customers when I got there so both women worked on my nails which was great because it cut down on the time. I have never had a manicure here, so I can't comment on that, but I have had many pedicures and they were all excellent. The staff are very friendly and they are happy to fit you in with short notice. I have never waited more than a few minutes. I got the worst manicure of my life here. My friend and I came in here today because the place we were originally heading to had a long wait and another one was closed and we really needed a mani badly. First of all, the woman didn't even take off all of my previous polish. Her way of "filing" my nails was running the nail file straight across my nails twice for each finger. They were all crooked. She cut exactly TWO pieces of skin out of all of my fingers ..without any water. She didn't even attempt to "pretend" to cut anything else. When she told me to go wash my hands I was appalled because she was done with all of that in no more than 5 minutes. Before she started to paint, i had to ask for her nail file to shape some of my nails. They were all crooked but I didn't have the patience or time to fix all of them myself while she stood there and watched. She missed most of the sides of my nails when she painted and she rushed through the top coat like there's a fire in the building. She is lucky I even gave her any type for that joke of a manicure. I am a very easy going person and will be satisfied with anything but this was horrible. I don't like to create scenes so I just paid and left. My friend has the same exact issues. Who gets a MANICURE and doesn't get any cuticles or skin cut ??? It was 13 bucks for a regular manicure = her doing a horrible job and lathering my hands with lotion. Went in for a pedicure.. was the shortest one I have ever had. Literally 8 minutes from the time I put my feet in the water to the time they were draining the water.. that's outrageous. For 30$ I'd like to sit and relax. After they painted they had us put our feet under a freezing cold fan to dry.. no uv lights to dry them. But aside from that issue, what ur not addressing, the tip set was terrible and took 2 hrs! And i waited inbetween pedicure and that for too long! I've had a really mixed experience here at M Nails and Spa. They are very nice and they're the closest place to my house so I wanted to keep coming, but I am only kind of pleased with the service. I really enjoy the atmosphere. The place is bright and clean. My first time here I received a pedicure and a underarm wax. The pedicure was nice and I was satisfied with it overall, but I felt that they didn't do as much of the foot buffing/scraping (TMI I know) that you usually receive to leave you with super soft, callous free feet. Fortunately, I have naturally soft heels, but I imagine for a lot of ladies this wouldn't give them the results they crave. For my underarm wax, the same woman serviced me. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name. She did a very good job actually. She's one of the taller, thinner women there if that helps? The second time I came I received a chin wax. This time I was not as pleased. The person who serviced me may have been the manager. She is always handling the money. She did not do as good of a job keeping the strip close to the skin when she removed it resulting in greater discomfort for me and increased redness compared with my previous chin wax at another location. She also was not as diligent about getting out the stray hairs with tweezers. That would have been fine except that after only getting out about half of the strays I was charged double for the service. I know that I have very thick, stubborn coarse hair that requires a lot of attention so I am used to paying extra for these services, but I expect that they are charging me more because they are putting in more work to give me quality results. That was not the case in this instance. I am going to keep looking around for somewhere else to go for my hair removal services. read more

I've been going to M nails on and off for a year and always come back after trying other salons in the area. I can always count on a job well done. These ladies may not be very talkative. There's no cable TV, no drink. I can count on the salon and tools to be clean and service delivered with quality. I have yet to have a bad mani at M as I have at other salons nearby. Eyelash extensions: This is now the only place I get my eyelash extensions done. The lady who does them really takes her time but the end product is amazingly beautiful. I used to get them done elsewhere, but I wanted someone else since I'd require a refill after only 2 1/2 weeks. At M Nails, my full sets literally last over a month and even then I only need a small refill. I travel from Springfield to get these done so they're absolutely worth the price. I went here on Friday, 2/12/2016. I got nail extensions with a permanent French. The total was $95 and change. The next day, lifting in the corners. Today is Wednesday and every nail is lifting more and more in the corners and the edges are cracking off. The nails are bumpy and uneven. I got gel hoping that it would be better than the acrylic I've been getting for nearly a decade. The nails I normally get at a different salon are 1/3 the price and 100 percent better. I also was a little insulted at how I was greeted. Upon arrival to my 6pm appointment. I reiterated what I was there for. And instead of being shown a chair I was told "That $85. Is that okay?" This was the worst waxing experience I have ever had. I was driving by and had an extra minute and decided to get my eyebrows done. The lady took me in immediately and asked another women in a chair to wait a few minutes. Once in the back room she asked if I wanted my lip done as well and I responded with "I was not planning on it". She insisted I get it done. So I Said ok (who wants their waxer insisting they are hairy?!). Once she was ready to apply the wax she dripped it all over my nose and in one of my eyelashes. If my eye was open she would have burned my eye!!!! She apologized and continued. The wax felt hot but I could hear her blowing on it (while also chomping and popping her gum to top it all off). She finished and put a calming lotion on my face. Then she took my card and asked for how much of a tip and if I had cash. I did not. She ran it as debit and cancelled it then without telling me ran it as credit. Ok. Just a wax was 20$!!!! Wow. For that price if feel like it should have been perfect. Once I got home I noticed my face was more red then usual. No big deal. Then my family member asked what was all over my lip. Confused I looked in the mirror and my lip was BLISTERING! She burnt me so bad I had multiple blisters on my face!!! So I called the salon and asked for a refund. She insisted they do not do refunds and that there was no manger available. She also asked me to come back. So I did she told me to "calm down" and it was normal when you get your face waxed.for someone who gets waxed on a regular basis I knew that was not true. I also saw that my eyebrows where not as aggravated and a couple hours later . So I was not allergic to any of the products used. Went in 8/25/12 with my daughter. The woman doing my pedicure was more interested in what was on T.V. that she hardly looked at my feet, never mind being courteous. The pumus stone she used on me she rinsed in the dirty water my feet were in and threw it back into her drawer for the next person. Disgusting! When my daughter was having her manicure and drying her nails the woman working on her decided to start picking away at her own toe nails. First time in this place. Last time in this place. I should honestly report them to the health department. I have NEVER gone to a nail salon like this and I've had my nails done for over 20 years. They are not deserving of even one star. read more
