Kay, the manager, allows the nail technicians to treat clients rudely and poorly -- meaning whatever they say goes and the client does not matter. Kay also refuses to do services and instead will make you wait an extensive amount of time for other staff with less experience and lower quality work. This is UNACCEPTABLE when you consider the extremely high prices of M Vince Nail Spa @ Domain. The customer service should match the high prices -- and Kay's emotionless and rude responses to clients is making sure that does NOT happen. Be fair warned: Headquarters should definitely investigate this location that is bringing down their brand. read more

So my roommate and I have been on the hunt for a new nail salon that was closer to home. We figured since this salon was beautiful and the location of it, it would be top notch and we would receive the best service but we were completely wrong. First off, no ac so get ready for loud fans and to sweat a bit. I got laid off earlier this week so she was treating me to a relaxing day to get our nails done so we called ahead to schedule two mani and two pedi's. Hers was a full set and mine was just a basic manicure. When they started on our pedicure the ladies were obviously talking bad about us because we didn't want to upgrade. The polish job was sloppy and rushed. Over priced for what they give. The base does not include any kind of scrub or anything. So when I say basic it's literally bottom of the barrel basic. When we got to the manicure portion they started on my friends nails and said they could do exactly what she wanted. They lied because towards the end she confessed they didn't have the colors she wanted. I put pictures below what she wanted and what she got. The colors turned brown because they were placed incorrectly and no stones because the lady was rushing. And then onto my basic manicure. They completely forgot about me. As I sat there obviously annoyed for literally almost an hour and half. I ask the guy and he said I never booked one, when obviously I called ahead to book it and he was the person that confirmed what we were getting when we arrive. And then said there was no one to help with my manicure, when tons of nail artist were just walking around and coming over to see what my roommate was getting done to comment on them. So we left, sweating, with a sloppy overpriced pedicure, no manicure for me at all, messed up nails that she paid close to $200 for when the color was so dull and not placed correctly and literally do not look like what she showed them. After reading the response to my review-it was absolutely false. First, I did NOT receive the 12 minute massage, it was two minutes. Secondly, I did make the staff aware. They offered a 12 minute massage in response to my complaint, which acknowledged the technician did not complete my service. At my first appointment, I was really disappointed. The polish chipped within three days, the application was messy, and they didn't clean my cuticles at all--it felt rushed and unprofessional. However, I really appreciate how quickly and kindly the salon responded to my concerns. They were very understanding and offered to redo my nails without hesitation. During the second visit, the experience was completely different. The technician took her time, was very gentle, and paid close attention to detail. I asked for a very clean cuticle, and she delivered exactly that. Although one cuticle bled a little, I could tell it was because she was being thorough. The polish was applied beautifully and evenly, and the overall result looked clean and professional. I'm so much happier with how my nails turned out. read more

I came back to get Hailey Bieber nails (Gel-X press on manicure, funny bunny gel polish, and chrome powder on top) and they did a perfect job. Bi did my nails again and he did them exactly how I wanted. I cannot recommend him enough-- he is my favorite nail technician of all time because he pays so much attention to detail and takes his time. He really cares about your nails! And the employees are so kind and attentive-- they make sure you are happy with your nails and check on you throughout your service, something I really appreciate. I've been coming to this shop for quite some time but cannot justify coming anymore. I came in today for a simple gel manicure. I chose 5 pastel glitter gel colors (one color per nail) and they looked glittery/pretty colorful on the chart. Not once did my nail tech (I believe her name is Lily) mention that the colors I chose were too light/would not show up how they are on the chart on my natural nails. The actual manicure was fine, but the gel color application was bad/looked nothing like the colors I chose. She asked me what I thought and I asked her politely if was there any way she could add one more layer of the gel to get the color/glitter effect I was seeking (and that was on the color chart) and she got upset, refused, and said it would be "too thick". I didn't want to argue with her so proceeded to let her finish my manicure. I even left her a decent tip despite that. I'm extremely disappointed and you can barely see the color on my nails. If you cannot replicate the color as shown on the chart, it's your duty as a nail tech to let your client know. Or at least apply a white/nude base layer over the nail so you can see it. It just left a bad taste in my mouth that she just flat-out refused to even accommodate me. Why would I choose a color from the chart if I didn't know when applied to my nails you can barely see it? That's a waste of money. I came in on a Monday so it wasn't like it was busy. She just didn't care and it shows. I can't remember how I found M Vince, but I used to go pretty regularly, and only stopped because of the inconvenience of driving up from downtown. My friend and I decided to get our nails done together and wanted to try a more bougie salon, so I recommended M Vince. We made appointments a week before and requested "any technician". We arrived at 11:30 on the dot and checked in, picked colors, and were immediately served mimosas and seated together. Our technicians worked quickly, diligently, and efficiently, and we both left pleased with our manicures. I will definitely start making the trip up to The Domain more often to get my nails done. First visit and I absolutely loved it ! We had an appointment for 4:30 and they were able to get us in about 45 min earlier. I'm sorry I didn't get any names however the male receptionist was so nice and friendly he definitely made my mom and I feel welcomed and he was able to get us seen before our appointment time. Terrible experience. I am a chef and on my feet constantly. I wanted to have a great experience here so badly I called twice in advance to make sure that they the pedicure came with a massage. They informed me it came with a 10 to 15 minute massage. Not only is M Vince immaculately clean and high-end (I mean the place is gorgeous), but the customer service is TOP NOTCH! The staff is super professional, kind, and detail oriented. They do everything from super elaborate nail or just your basic mani. I've been to many nail salons in the larger ATX area, and this would be one of the better experiences I have had. Usually with these nicer, well done interior designed establishments are just "fancy" and don't hold up on the customer service or up charge like crazy. Not here it's the best of both worlds. I had a very upsetting and disappointing experience at this salon. I went in for a gel manicure that ended up looking extremely bulky and poorly done with the polish peeling off. The coats of polish were applied extremely thick and uneven, and the technician rushed the service, not leaving each coat under the UV lamp for long enough to dry. Later that night, the gel peeled right off both of the thumb nails and was still wet underneath! When I called the next day to discuss my situation, the woman I spoke with was very dismissive of my service and how the manicure turned out. She asked me to send photos, which I did, and then she began to argue with me on whether I should receive a refund, stating that it "looked fine"- even with the two peeling nails. After going back and forth with her, she reluctantly offered a refund for the two nails, although I ended up having to get the entire manicure redone somewhere else since they were not done properly, and I was so off put by the experience that I didn't want to return. The technicians were pushy about receiving tips through Venmo, even after rushing through the low-quality service. To clarify, I only requested a refund for the service and not the tips I sent them privately. Overall, based on the service and phone conversation, I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. This was truly an awful experience, not only with the unprofessional quality of my nails but with the customer service as well. If you are looking for a good quality manicure and good customer service, this is not the place. read more

M. VINCE Spa opened up in the Domain last week and This is without a doubt my new nail spa! I came with my mother, aunt and best friend to get pedicures. Before you even walk into the doors, you're met with an elegant white marble exterior with a side patio for guests to sit. You walk in and are immediately met with big smiles and relaxing meditation music. Next to the reception area, they have a full bar that includes, mimosas, wine, etc., and such an amazing color selection. The manager and his wife were so amazing and made sure that we were comfortable and we definitely were! The spa area had TVs for entertainment and the most comfortable massage chairs I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in. I want to give a special shout-out to Ann, who did my pedicure (which turned out amazing) she was so sweet and we had a fun conversation the whole time that she was doing my nails. I made sure to tell her that I'd be requesting her specifically for my next visit. The drinks are complementary, every single employee was friendly and super helpful. But don't judge this luxury spa by its cover, their prices are amazing and very competitive in my opinion. I cannot wait to book my next appointment here for a girls day. i'd give negative stars if i could. two mani pedis cost $279 and every part of the service nickel and dimed me within an inch of my life. the quality is a $20 manicure at best: coverage is choppy, cuticle work is embarrassing, toenails are chipped and barely covered. staff barely spoke to us despite taking turns literally shoving their phones in my face one by one demanding tips on venmo the second they were done. when i said i'd photograph their tip cards to tip evenly at the end they stared at me to intimidate me into tipping them on the spot. when it came time for the bill, nothing is itemized or made any sense as to what they snuck in for up charges. i went back to ask to explain the pricing and got nothing but a smug and condescending attitude from the staff, like im a total jerk for asking why i just paid $300 for mediocre-at-best work. must really be slow season out here, because what a disappointment. y'all cant charge louis vuitton prices on K-mart quality. bummer because I work in the Domain and i'm going to make sure to let everyone know to stay away from here. One time they left red dip at the base of my nail (it was a red french tip) but when I questioned it, the artist waved it off and said it would come off later (it did not). edit: a couple of my nails have already chipped after just 4 days, so that's very disappointing to say the least. an okay experience, but overall, i'm very disappointed in how my set turned out. my friend and i came in for 2 walk ins. i wanted a gel manicure with a swirly design and a couple french tips. the experience itself was .. fine. my tech wasn't super friendly and warm, but it was a chilly day two days before christmas, so i'm not too upset about that all. he did hit my skin with the drill a couple times, and i did end up bleeding on my middle finger unfortunately. since i had gel on on already, the removal process consisted of filing away most of the polish with a drill, and then soaking in hot water acetone for only a couple minutes (i'm unsure of what the bowl had), and then drilling off the remaining polish. my biggest problem was the price and the skill for the amount that i paid. three of my nails on each hand were supposed to be a white french tip. my index and ring finger designs look really good, but the french tips are pretty bad. the first nail he did the french tip on looked perfect, and i told him so after he asked. all of the other french tips are way way way too thick, and the white takes up so much of my nail. they're not round/curved enough, and it just looks goofy! i did ask several times for him to make them thinner. he obliged multiple times, but i got tired of asking, so i just stopped. the entire manicure came out to be $75, which i think is ridiculous. i've never paid that much for a gel manicure with a design. the gel manicure was $40, gel removal was $5, design was $25 (which is way too expensive), and almond shape was $5. i have no idea why i was charged $5 for shape when my nails were already long and almond shaped? this salon charges for every shape except for round, square, and squoval. when i went to pay, i mentioned to the girl that the french tips were too thick and that i did ask my tech to fix them / make them thinner multiple times, and she begrudgingly gave me a $5 discount, which i am thankful for. my friend's gel x set came out decent though. they might look alright in the photos, but as i mentioned 1) my left middle finger bled on one side and has a red mark on the other side 2) the french tips are way too thick and not curved enough. most of the reviews of this salon are overwhelmingly positive, so i'm sure you would most likely come out with some nice looking nails! read more

Let me start by saying, its just a manicure and I am not normally a complainer. But it irritated and rankled me and I deserved better as a customer. I was on vacation in Austin and staying at a nearby hotel in The Domain. This salon was about two minutes from the hotel and I needed a fresh manicure. I had passed by a few days before and it looked beautiful - which it was - and upscale and relaxing. I called to make an appointment and the person must have asked me three or four times what my name and email was. That was already a weird vibe. But I went for my appointment and was excited to have what I hoped would be a luxurious experience. It was anything but. When I got to the salon, there was no one at the front desk. I had to basically wave my arms to get someone to notice me. Then they had me fill out an electronic check in, again asking me for my email and phone number. The man behind the counter didn't smile, didn't say welcome, just "fill out this. Sign in." He called for a technician to come and take me. She looked unhappy from the second she was assigned to me. I told her my name and she did not tell me hers. Didn't even smile. I was trying so hard to be cheerful and friendly and she just seemed annoyed. She gave me the most perfunctory manicure I have ever had - bare minimum. I have very short nails and there's really nothing hard for her to do. She barely - and I mean, maybe ten seconds - massaged my hands when she applied the hand cream. The entire manicure from start to finish was about ten minutes. The dryers are weird - they are on the front of the manicure table off to the side, so you spread your arms and sit there with your hands in the air, very uncomfortable to be honest. I had never seen dryers like that before and the technician was sort of snappy at me when I didn't see them at first. When she was done, she did not say anything to me , just got up and walked away. Literally not one word. She sort of threw all the tools into her little box and the drawers and got up and left. She did not come over to assist me putting on my jacket - she could see I was trying not to get my nails chipped and ignored me. When I was checking out, the same man at the front desk offered to give my tip to the technician. I told him I didn't know her name because she never shared it with me. I handed him the tip which was generous considering the service I received. He asked me how my mani was and I told him I did not enjoy it, that I didn't know who to give the tip to because she never did not tell me her name. I told him she rushed it and seemed unhappy to be working with me. He offered the most insincere apology and he too clearly seemed disinterested. I get manicures every other week at small, very much not-fancy nail salons in New York City, that cost way less than this cost and I am never treated as if they don't want my business. Perhaps once they realized I was from out of town (after asking me to register and repeat my phone number), they figured I would not be a regular and therefore it was not worth investing energy in me? I honestly have no idea. This beautiful, giant salon was EMPTY - there were only two other women there, it was the middle of the day on a Wednesday. I do actually come to Austin fairly regularly to visit family but I will not be returning here.
