Quality job on my pedicure. I chose the new cats eye polish , and I have to say I'm not disappointed.

Don't let the man work on you! It's hard to find a good nail shop in manor but this may be my worst experience yet. The only thing I like about my nails is the color I selected. The man is very rough and just jams your nail bed back and works very rough with the tools. He seemed to be in a rush the whole time. He even was rushing us to pick a color. We had an appointment and they had very few customers in the shop. My daughter and I were the only customers there for a good chunk of time before someone else trickled in. Even still, he was distracted the entire time. He actually talked on the phone while working on my nails and was talking with the other employees and later on a different customer who must be a regular there. He didn't say one word to me despite me trying to break the ice once but at the end of the day, it's on him to provide a service. Getting nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience. If that wasn't bad enough, the nails look like an amateur did it. My nails aren't smooth and very patchy and uneven. The woman who did my daughter nails took her time and did a really good job. She also offered us water and soda which he didn't. As much as I wanted to tip her, I couldn't bring myself to tip since it was on my credit card because I knew the tip would be split with him since I paid for both my daughter and I at the same time: At a price of $50 for dip, I expect better service and for my nails to look nice. read more

My go to nail shop in Manor! This review is way past due, but I have been going here for several years now, and absolutely love this place. The staff is wonderful. They listen to what you are looking for and make magic happen on your fingers and toes! They are gentle and thorough on their services. I've had: gel nails, dip/powder nails, acrylic, and even natural nails. They really do a great job regardless of what you have. Quality job on both hands & feet. They recently started serving extended beverage for customers. A delicious array of 21+ drinks (and regular drinks), which I honestly look forward to. Nothing better than getting your nails done, chair & leg massages, and drink in hand! If you need to work from the nail shop, there is wifi available, and they have these convenient table trays you can use for your laptop. The shop itself is bright, open, and clean. I've gone to Solar nails a few times out of convenience. Every time has been a sub par experience. This time, today I went in for a fill. I was asked if I had an appointment and I stated no. The guy who was there told me that I could not be serviced. I thought I heard him wrong and asked him what did he say and he repeated himself and said I couldn't receive service. . I turned and walked out the door. I looked at the walk ins welcomed and shook my head. And my grandma loves the fact that the lady (owner) can talk to her in Spanish being from Puerto Rico. I've never any any issues, do both manicure and pedicure, and reasonable pricing. I've been going to this nail solan for years now, I'm talking about 2018 and they are the only ones I trust for my nails. This place gets booked! Do to the pandemic, staff is lower but they are trying their best to serve every individual. Be patient, this is a hands on service so a little amount time will roll over if appointments are back to back. I recommend calling for an appointment before deciding to walk in. I had to come back and update my review I just got my nails done on last Friday one of the tips broke off and they fixed it. However today is Weds and my thumb nail is cracked. I was told that you have up to 3 days or you have to pay. I paid 40.00 plus gave the tech Tony a 5.00 too. I will not be going back. Your nails should last and not be cracking or breaking within the first week. I am so unhappy. read more

I recently moved to Manor and was so happy to see Solar Nails at the entrance of my community. Based on previous reviews, I was a little nervous but decided to have an open heart and give them a try. My first trip was for a simple fill. I did have about a 10 minute wait but everyone was very accommodating and there were some TVs to occupy me. I was happy with my service, prices and my nails looked great. Whew! What a relief. Test #2: The pedicure. I decided to go all out and get a pedi and brand new set on my nails. There were 4 pedi options and I believe the highest was around $40. I chose the $24 option and was in heaven for the next 40 minutes. The service consisted of a soak, 2 scrubs, massage, hot towel wrap and some pretty good callus removal. So impressed! I soaked my nails of during my pedi to save some time. And ended up getting pink and white solar right on top of my natural nails. I was a little worried about strength without artificial tips but 1 week later and I'm free of chips or lifting. The lack of the 5th star is due to the fact that a bumble bee got inside a front door, which was propped open. No huge deal but I certainly tensed up during my pedicure when he was circling my head. Hard to run or swat when your hands are soaking in chemicals :) read more

Don't bother making an appointment. They do not honor it. I called in the morning, and they told me what times they had open. I made my appointment and showed up 5 mins early only to sit there waiting for someone to at least tell me hey we're running late today, it'll be X mins until we can see you. I work out in Manor, TX - land of the open fields and nothingness, USA. I look out my window onto vast nothing-ville and in order to keep my sanity, my co-workers and I go on lunch time road trips. It was a slow day. I was feeling pretty frumpy and she needed a pick-me-up before her upcoming interview. It was only 4 minutes down the road and we had passed this place several times on our lunch-time driving excursions. It was time to try this place out. When we walked in and there was only one lady in the front. However, two more soon came out and we were taken care of immediately. We both got pedicures and my friend got an eyebrow wax. She was very happy about her wax job. The nail polish selection was fairly small but adequate. It took about 45 minutes and was a reasonable $22. The pedicure was pretty standard - it had been awhile since my last pedicure and I had forgotten how good it feels. So soft!! I definitely will be back - for the convenient proximity to work if nothing else. Hands down, one of the best lunchtime pick-me-ups. read more

I was looking to get acrylics for my birthday, but didn't want to drive into the Austin area. I was a bit skeptical because in the past, I've noticed a lot of small town nail salons tend to be on the pricey side. I went in yesterday, Saturday, around 3pm and there were a few people there. They greeted me and sat me down as soon as I had arrived. The guy who did my nails was hilarious! I was kind of turned off at the fact that I never had a male do my nails, but he was careful and he seemed like a natural! He joked around a lot and made it a fun experience. I had read the reviews here and happened to be in the area so I thought I would give them a shot. Their prices were decent. Waxing: I thought they had done a great job with my eyebrow wax. Regular Pedicure: I had a woman and thought she had done a great job. The environment was relaxing and the chair was great. Glad someone suggested to avoid the guys because they were chatter boxes more focused on their co-workers than being attentive to their customers. Regular Manicure: They initially asked to do both services at the same time but I would have felt rushed so I asked them to do it separately. I had a different woman work on my hand. By this time there weren't very many people in the salon so very loud conversations began. This of course took away from any sense of zen I had gained. What was a little irritating is that the woman doing my nails was more involved with the conversation than my hands. The hand/arm massage one would normally get was basically nonexistent. It was one of the reasons I went for the regular option. Disappointed. So overall I would rate them a 3 1/2 to 4. If they had relaxing music going and of course if they refrained from talking loud over each other it would improve the atmosphere. I would go back again. read more

We moved to Manor a few month ago and I have tried two nail salons here and Solar Nails is by far the best. I have been for a manicure three times, and got a different stylist each time. Update: It's a *decent* nail place. They only have acrylic or solar - I'm from Dallas and prefer nextgen/SNS. I went ahead and gave them a shot anyways...well the acrylic bubbled and looked horrible by the next day. They don't paint them fully so the tips are still clear... I am still looking for my new nail spot down here. Womp womp. :( It's a good nail place. They have the basics down to a science. The staff is nice and care about their guests. Not a whole lot of English is spoken... But overall it's an okay nail place. They need to update their offerings though. No nextgen, no wine. read more

I have been coming to this salon for over TEN years. The current own, Tammy, is a good person. She is very friendly & tries her best to accommodate everyone. Her and her staff quickly offer you something to drink & try and make you feel comfortable. There have been two other salons open here in Manor, but this place is still the best. Now I even bring my 5 year old granddaughter in & she loves getting pampered by Tammy & her staff. There is sometimes a bit of a wait, but well worth it. Another customer walked in and the customer was taken and serviced before I was. No explanation was given as to why the customer was taking a priority over me. I had been coming to this place for more than five years because it's close to where I live. However I noticed that when they're busy, they basically take care of the new customers and just leave me unattended for quite a long time ... also the last time that I was there the lady Who did my nails seem to be a beginner and she had a very negative attitude... my pedicure was really bad and it was messed up, so I went back for her to fix it and she's had even the worst attitude, the nail polish was lumpy and uneven and I watched her purposefully skip putting a top coat on one of my big toe nails it seemed to be because she passive aggressiveness... I caught her and asked her to please polish that missed toe nail... And as she was putting on the foot protectors for me to walk in, she was looking away and talking in her language to other people in the shop as she put on both of my foot protectors well it ended up that one of my big toenails had a big bulge Mark in the middle of it but this was the second time that I have been there for to be fixed and I became frustrated that I had to waste so much time just to get a pedicure. I live in Manor, so I thought I'd support the local nail salon. The man who did my pedicure was more interested in talking to others in the shop than he was giving me a pedicure. He looked away several times while handling sharp instruments near my cuticles, and even looked away while painting my nails. This was the worst pedicure I have ever had, and I have had pedicures for over 5 years. My feet were not soft and nail polish was left on my skin around my toes - on every toe! The paint on the toenails was lumpy and uneven. When it came time to pay and leave, he stood over me the whole time while I filled out my credi card slip - kind of intimidating. I went back the very next morning to ask to have my nails re-painted. The same man repainted my nails, but he made them look even worse - and I did not think that was possible. I am not sure how the other nail technicians are at that place, but if you go, you may want to ask for one of the female technicians. I am going back to Super Star Nails - and never going back to this place again. read more

I went here a couple times giving them a chance....bad idea.. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! My nails were real and long, all i asked for was a gel polish. The girl ended up giving me a manicure and when i tried to stop her, she said, "oh it ok,.you like it". She didnt do the gel nails right, she only put one coat of the shiny gel on, i asked her to do more, she said " you done, bye". After i paid for services i didnt even want, it was more than i wanted to spend. A week later my polish turned a dark brownish or black at the tips... all my REAL NAILS broke within the week. I love this place! They are nice and accommodating when I am in a hurry. The manager is nice and I can get two girls to do mani and pedi at the same time. She offers water and knows my by name. I have tried several places and their chairs are great. I also use a lot of my Pinterest ideas and they never fail. The most basic pedicure is very relaxing. I can also even get a facial here and it's comparable to 80-120 facials out there. Only for $30. Their waxing is quick and detailed.
