Even though it's a busy entertainment district, you'll find parking in the large lots that surround the area. Ambiance (4/5): Marino's is an upscale Italian restaurant. We sat at spacious booth. There are also tables and a small bar area. It's nice without being stuffy. Service (4/5): Our waitress did a good job taking care of us. Not terribly friendly but efficient. I asked her some questions and she provided her recommendations. The restaurant wasn't too busy on a Sunday evening, but she did a good job. Drinks (4/5): I ended up getting a beer because they had one that I don't see in a lot of places...La Fin du Monde. This Canadian beer is a craft brew that is hard to find. I couldn't say no. Outside of that, they have a full bar and the soft drinks you'd expect. Food (4/5): We started off with goat cheese croquettes which we were intrigued by due to the creativity. I like croquettes. I like goat cheese. I've never had them in one. Served with a sweet sauce, it's a small portion and didn't totally work. My dining partner agreed. Good idea, not the best execution. Luckily, my entree turned the tide. I had the vodka parmigiana which the waitress mentioned is her favorite dish. Served with linguine in a creamy vodka sauce, the chicken was perfectly breaded and pan fried. Generous portion size here as I took one fillet home. I'd come back for this dish alone.

If you have the pleasure of meeting Reid Bosworth, you're in for a treat. The House Focaccia with the Honey Ricotta is an absolute must order. It was so good we couldn't stop reaching for another piece. I'm usually not a red sauce person, but the Vodka Parmigiana completely changed my mind. It was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best Italian dishes I've had. The Short Rib Ravioli was another standout. It's creative, comforting, and packed with incredible flavor. From the food to the hospitality, everything exceeded my expectations. Marino's is a hidden gem that deserves so much more attention. If you're wondering whether it's worth the trip, I can confidently say it is.

Two members of our group arrived before the rest of us and were told they could not be seated until the entire party was present. When I arrived and mentioned that I had made the reservation, the hostess responded in a rude and dismissive manner, which immediately created an uncomfortable first impression. The experience continued to feel awkward when the young woman escorting us to our table asked how my day was going. I mentioned that it had been going well until I was spoken to rudely by the hostess, and instead of addressing the situation professionally, she responded coldly and seemed to take offense. Our waitress also came across as abrupt and unfriendly. When our friend asked for another drink, her response was sharp and dismissive. While I understand that drink timing depends on the bar, the way it was communicated was unnecessary and unprofessional. To her credit, she did improve later in the meal, and the dinner ultimately worked out. However, had we not been dining with two other couples, we likely would have left after those early interactions.

The name really fits because there are several different seating areas, including cozy groupings with soft couches and chairs, traditional dining tables, bar seating and an outdoor patio. There is also a separate larger room that looked great for groups. It's nice enough for a fun night out or date night, but the overall feel is relaxed and casual, so you definitely don't need to dress up. We went for a girls' Happy Hour, specifically because the Wine Wall sounded like so much fun, but one of the things I really liked about The Living Room is that you absolutely don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy it. They also have a reasonable, well rounded menu and signature drinks. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6 PM. The menu offers $2 off wines by the glass, draft beers, signature and well cocktails, as well as the bruschetta and flatbreads. So one person could come for wine and bruschetta, and someone else could enjoy a beer with flatbread, or have something from the regular menu. There are salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi rolls, food from the grillI, and starters. We first shared the Artichoke Spinach Dip. I feel like the dip is a portion for one, as you can see in my photo; it's in a small ramekin, but the chips are fantastic and sharable. I had the "fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp topped with a fried egg." The "steak" was tiny little pieces, not slices, but the portion of fried rice was very generous and filling. It's a "Starter" that was a "meal" for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices are. Now for the Wine Wall, because this is such a fun part of the experience! You're given a Tasting Card that works somewhat like a debit card for the Wine Wall. You tap the card at the WineStation, choose the wine you want and then select a 1 oz, 3 oz or 6 oz pour. Each wine and pour size has its own price, and every selection is added to your Tasting Card. At the end, the accumulated amount is transferred to your restaurant check as one "Wine Wall" charge. Our server was wonderful about showing us how everything worked. He walked us over to the Wine Wall, explained the system and dispensed our first glasses for us. Later, when he asked if we wanted more, my friend ordered another 3 oz Silver Oak and he brought it right to our table, so we didn't even have to get up again. If the Wine Wall is one of the main reasons for your visit, there are couches and tables right by it. You might want to choose that area if you plan on trying 1 oz. tastes of several wines. We enjoyed two excellent Cabernets from the Wine Wall: Caymus and Silver Oak. I had a 3 oz Caymus, a 3 oz Silver Oak, and my friend had a 6 oz Caymus and 3 oz Silver Oak. Our total Wine Wall charge was $83. We're already looking forward to returning for what will feel like a different experience by having white wine and sushi outdoors on a cool evening. I could definitely see The Living Room becoming an easy choice for a casual Happy Hour or dinner with friends.

I also loved the addition of diced tomato and avocado, which added texture. The sliders were a good size. We added a side of truffle fries, which unfortunately fell flat. They looked like regular fries and, while they did have some truffle flavor, they were missing the Parmesan cheese and seasoning that typically make truffle fries stand out. They were okay, but a bit disappointing. We had a nice lunch. The only downside was the price. For one appetizer, one lunch entrée, fries, and one cocktail the total came to over $75, which felt a little steep for lunch. The golf simulators, lounge areas, cigar lounge, and thoughtfully designed spaces throughout the restaurant give guests the option to create whatever experience they're looking for, whether it's a casual meal, drinks with friends, or a more relaxed evening out. I brought family visiting from New York after a day at C2 Tactical, and everyone had a fantastic time. We also enjoyed a few glasses of wine, some martinis, and mocktails for the kids. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
