Date of visit: August 3, 2024…read more We gathered here with some neighbors as a friend had said that she knows the owners and they are lovely people and the food was good. It was overall a mixed experience. Food: I had the BBQ Short Rib (R3 on the menu) and while it was flavorful with the rice, the meat was extremely tough (especially with just the butter knife I had to cut) and fatty. The portion size was a bit small for the price as well. Other items on the menu seemed to be a much better value in terms of food volume and cost. Service: Attentive at first, but then nonexistent. We were so busy talking that we didn't know what we wanted and finally all settled on items. It took two staff members to take the order due to some language barriers, but we got through it. During the meal, they came around once for water and then never again, despite hanging around for well over 90 minutes. There was no attempt to clear dishes and we had to flag someone down to get the check. Overall it was okay, but I'm not super likely to come back anytime soon, unfortunately.

I was pleasantly surprised as previous reviews are not glowing. The food was excellent, I had…read moreshrimp, calamari, and chicken fried rice. The others in my group had mussels and wings and they agreed the food is great. The owner served us and is very personable. The decor is comfortable. My only concern is that the restaurant was not very full, immediate seating.

It's been on our list for a while, and this was our first time coming here…read more Food: Excellent! One of the best Italian meals we have had. We started with a couple of the signature cocktails. My Papa Gio's Old Fashioned was outstanding. The additional Cynar amaro is a stroke of genius. For starters, we ordered the Fried Eggplant (Melanzane Fritte), which was probably the best we have ever had. It arrived piping hot, and the breading was fried to perfection. The eggplant itself was mild, with no hint of bitterness. The accompanying marinara sauce was thick and flavorful. For entrées, we ordered Gio's Stuffed Filet and the Chicken Parmesan. The filet was cooked perfectly to medium-rare and was delicious. The Chicken Parmesan was a huge portion. There were literally three chicken breasts, each with well-seasoned breading and fried to a beautiful golden crispness. It was excellent. We had plenty of leftovers and enjoyed several more meals at home. (The eggplant reheats especially well in an air fryer.) Service: We had a 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. We let our server know that we had a performance to attend and were assured that we would be out with plenty of time to spare. For the vast majority of the evening, the service was great. Unfortunately, things changed toward the end of the meal. We literally could not find our server, and we suspect they may have also been handling a party upstairs. Since we needed to leave, we had the host help us get our bill paid. Feeling rushed at the end of the meal took a bit of the polish off an otherwise excellent experience. Atmosphere: The restaurant is small and has an authentic feel to it. The photos and décor make you feel as though you're dining in a typical European restaurant. The tables are close together, and it was a bit noisy at times. Overall, we had a very good experience. I can't say enough about the drinks and food. I just wish the service had been more consistent throughout the evening. We are looking forward to our next meal there.

9/23/23; This place opened up again inside/ in conjunction with "The Q". I was so excited to go…read morebecause I loved their seafood boils at their old location and was bummed out when they closed. Stopped in for takeout. Ambience was cools and laid back at night, there was some soft jazz playing. Order 2 jerk salmon burgers and some wings with the "crab it your way" sauce. Flavor was on point for both. Wings were delicious and super crispy, just like I ordered. The burgers, although they were good, they were small for $18. Fries were decent, but a bit on the greasy side. Took 2 stars off because we waited 45 minutes for our food, when we were told 20 minutes, the burgers were small for the price and they charge an automatic 18% gratuity even for carry out ( I don't mind dine in). Also the girl at the front didn't seem too knowledgeable about the menu. Although I'm not a big fan of The Q, I would definitely go back for Crab It Your Way. I already know their seafood boils are bomb.

So I had the two extremes of service here…read more At the extreme low end--and I really wish I could contact the store manager to talk about this guy--was a weirdo cashier who legitimately made my skin crawl, and I do not say that lightly in a Yelp post. This individual was a young man with a neck beard wearing a bright pink wig. Weird, but that's not what made my skin crawl. I asked a simple question, and he gave me a vague answer, then when I asked some quick clarification, he proceeded to literally STARE ME DOWN. I actually felt threatened and disconcerted, even though there was no physical threat from this little guy, but I know a bad vibe when I feel one. This individual was not right. I guarantee it. And he should not be working up front with customers. On the other end of the spectrum, when I walked away for a moment and thankfully came back to find a different cashier, was Ms. Angela. At least I think her name tag said Ms. Angela. There was certainly a Ms. in there. But she was an older black woman who was nothing but lovely and sweet and helpful. Please, Pick 'n Save, get more people like Ms. Angela on the registers, and fewer like that weirdo in the wig.

One of the most important reasons I ever come to Pick'n Saves are to replenish my MCTS pass and the…read moreservice desk here just can't handle that. This PnS is smaller than most, without adequate cashiers and nobody likes self serve. If you're going to make me work for the store, then either pay me or give me a good discount and a little paid training. The produce isn't always fresh and well displayed, and I often can't find what I came in here for (like to put more money on my bus pass, or good oranges). The parking lot doesn't seem safe (not in terms of crime, in terms of low speed collisions). There's no good place to secure my bicycle either.
