My 2006 4-Runner had (mostly) original paint on it which looked terrible. It was baked by the sun, checked, and basically down to the metal on upper surfaces. I took it to MAACO because I was not restoring the vehicle, I just wanted it to look presentable. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. Jose was my point of contact there at the Anderson Road location. He was very pleasant and helpful. He was straightforward and told me there would be a ten day wait time and that the work would take ten more days. I was okay with that. I opted for the #2 paint and with the prep work the total was around $2,100. At no extra charge they did additional work that I did not expect them to do. The 4-Runner looked great and was done on time. Jose gave some good tips on how to keep it looking great. I don't think I could be more pleased! read more

Two years ago I bought a 2009 Prius. The interior is like new. Pock marks and pitting marred the front hood. The clear coat degraded on the roof and sides. I finally made a decision to get quotes from well established auto body painters with good reputations in Tampa for decades. The quotes I received were between $5-9,000. That was well over my budget. I paid less than that for the car. All the long timers recommended I stay away from companies like Maaco. They told me my car had to be taken down to the metal and the hood blasted and that Maaco wouldn't do that plus the job wouldn't last. I began to watch you tube videos of a wide variety of cars and trucks painted two years ago or longer by Maaco. The work looked great. I decided to get a quote. My rep Manny was cordial, professional and explained the various priced packages and warranties leaving it up to me to make the final choice without any pressure! I liked his approach. I read the recent reviews on Yelp for this location and they were very positive. I chose a mid level package and Manny added some additional time for taking the hood down to metal, fixing other minor cosmetic scratches on the front and rear bumpers. I left the car on Monday and got a call Thursday morning that it was ready. When I arrived by Uber and saw my car I couldn't believe what outstanding work Maaco had done. Everything Manny promised was completed to my satisfaction. Now, my Prius looks like it just came off the showroom floor! One doesn't need to over pay for good work! It can be done and you can save thousands of dollars plus I have a full warranty on workmanship. I was introduced to Ivan, the owner, who has been painting cars here for over 30 years. This is a family business. His son works with him as well. They have a team of talented people. Saying thanks seems inadequate. I can't tell you enough how proud I am to drive my car. I'm over 50 years old and in my entire life, I have never been treated so horribly by a business as  I was by the Maaco in Tampa, Florida on Anderson Road. To be clear, I have done business with this particular Maaco several times over the years and have gladly recommended it to several of my friends. I have always interacted with the owner, Ivan and he consistently met my expectations. That being said, he wasn't available when I went to Maaco in September to inquire about getting my 2008 Honda CRV painted. Instead, I spoke to "Andre". I specifically told him that I was looking for an excellent paint job and inquired on the "Base coat/Clear coat option". I also told him that I was a repeat customer and asked if there were any specials available. He stated that at the moment there weren't any, but that one might be coming up in the next few months. We then walk out to the CRV so he could determine what needed to be done. A week later, I noticed on the internet that Maaco was running a "30% off paint" promo, so I went over to Maaco to inquire about it. Andre wasn't available, so I ended up talking to who I assume is the owner's son, Ivan Montoya Jr. During the course of my visit, he also provided an estimate on my 2002 Honda Accord. When I inquired on the "30% off paint" promo, he proceeded to tell me in a very rude and arrogant manner that his location did not honor the promo because business was good! "Supply and Demand!" he said. He cut me off several times when I tried to tell him that Andre had explicitly stated that a promo might be coming up; implying that the promotion would be honored. At this, Ivan Junior literally turned red in the face as he raised his voice and basically told me, "this is the price. Take it or leave it!" At that point, I left. A few days after this altercation, I took the Honda CRV to a different Maaco on Fowler Ave for a second opinion. They were willing to honor the "30% off paint" promo and gave me a printed estimate. I then drove to the Anderson location to see if Ivan Junior would be willing to at very least match it, but he got argumentative, shouting that he wouldn't because his location was doing great and already had more business than he could handle, so he had no reason to honor ANY discount promos! Needless to say the Maaco on Anderson Road is not the only game in town, so if you are seeking a fair deal, good work and most of all professionalism, look elsewhere! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! TERRIBLE PAINT JOB! We wanted to get the whole car repainted because it had paint cracking on the rear side and other areas and also wanted to change the front bumper. Andre told us it should be about a couple of weeks. So we dropped off the car on March 23rd. 1 week went by, 2 weeks went by... it's still not done. We called and Andre said that the door handles are not working properly and that they are trying to put it back together. (It has keyless entry, which is when you have the key in your hand, you simply touch the exterior handle and it locks/unlocks.) So that was not working, is what he said but it could be something else.. he was not telling us the truth what was really going on with the car.. We called again few days later, he said they took it to Mercedes service to get the doors fixed, which we found out later from Mercedes that it was not to fix the door handles but because the car wouldn't start!! This is a 2013 model.. I never had a single problem with this car!! Now, during the week that I thought my car was at Mercedes getting the door handles fixed, I decided to give a call to Mercedes to find out about the status of my car, because it was taking way too long, so they told me that it had just been checked in the day before by Maaco and the advisor read the notes to me.. the advisor wrote down that all of the insides of the doors and handles were taken apart and Maaco guy told the advisor they didn't know how to put it back together. ??!! Had I known this was going to happen, I wouldn't even drive by this place. 6 WEEKS AFTER, we go to pick up the car.. and I check to make sure the door handles are working, and 2 of the door handles are NOT working!! I tell them, hey, these door handles are not working and they didn't look so surprised. Come to find out from Mercedes that they never got it fixed at Mercedes because they didn't want to pay for it!! Maaco took the car back and told them they will fix it themselves!! The guy was ready to wash my car and the rear window was cracked open. I had to point that out too!! So Ivan and the guy that washes the cars took apart the door handles again to try to fix it. I am not sure why the car wash guy was taking apart the door handles ?? it didn't look like either of them knew what they were doing... they didn't get to fix it because they close at 1pm on Saturdays.. so we took the car with exception of these doors being fixed. I didn't want to leave my car there any longer as you can understand... A few more important things; when they took off the "C 250" emblem from the back of the car, they either broke it or lost it because they put a fake "C" which looks more like a "U" and they stuck it sideways and a fake "2" on my car!! Which is very noticeable!! They also cracked the trim on the inside of the front passenger door and chipped the paint off of the lock button and then painted it with a sharpie to cover it up. AND while I was driving, the upper speaker cover popped out of the driver door!!! Why? because they broke the clip that holds it in place!!! We got the platinum package thinking that we will get an excellent looking paint job. But all we got was disappointment. Long story short, IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR, DO NOT TAKE IT THERE. I invite all that read this review to the honest hour!! Where i be honest with you and myself. I used to think that Maaco was some cheap bottom of the barrel collision and paint shop. Why? Maybe it was those cheap commercials from back in the late 90's early 00's that made me think this was a cheap place and they did cheap jobs for $399 as the commercials would advertise. Welp silly is the young kid right. Fast forward to 2k19 and i find myself driving to work on the Veterans highway and there is a large red moving dolly right in the middle of the highway i had no chance to duck the shot (boxing terminology ) so i had to try to just hit it with the corner of my car and i tore right into my front bumper. How does a dolly end up in the middle of the highway smh. I find myself looking for a quote on some work and I'm advised to check Maaco out and I'm hesitant because of a 1999 commercial smh. I end up going in and i meet Ivan (who sounds exactly like President Obama) he was very knowledgeable about my car and he checked it out and gave me two quote very quickly. I handle all the business on my end with my insurance to get the check cut so i can have my car fixed. I call to speak to Ivan he thens orders the parts ahead of time so once i dropped my car to him Monday morning it was ready Tuesday!!!! The job these guys did was amazing my car looks brand new all because of the great job done by the hard working guys at Maaco. I wanna thank them all who brought my car back to life and especially to Ivan who keep me in the loop with the repairs and his dealings with my insurance adjuster. My teenager was backing into our garage and clipped the right front bumper on the side wall of the garage entry. Total accident but it did cause damage. We had an estimate done and it was not enough to submit a claim to my insurance company. I took the car to a repair facility and was quoted over $700.00. No way was I doing that. I brought in my 96 Prelude for an estimate after seeing a lot of positive reviews, and a recommendation from my wife's co-worker. Danny greeted me right away, and went to work building a quote for a way overdue paint job. He took his time explaining what to expect with each of the packages, and we decided together what the best service would be for my needs. I called to make an appointment, and was given a good idea of how long they would need the car in order to finish. At the end of the week, Danny gave me a call to let me know where they were at in the process, and let me know they would have it ready in a couple of days. Two days later, he called me to let me know it was ready, and I picked it up a day later. He walked around the car with me, and asked if it met my expectations. It exceeded them. The friendly, engaging office (in person AND over the phone), the clear, regular communications, and the finished product with no surprises will certainly be something I share with everyone I know looking to get a great product AND service when they need their car painted. After reading the reviews I was excited and optimistic about my car getting a facelift by having the dents removed and the body painted. I dropped my car off on the morning of the 14th, I walked around my car twice with Matt, showing him everything that I wanted done. We then went inside I pick the color and he told me I could pick it up on the 23rd. However It wasn't ready until the 29th. Frustrating but I was excited to see my car! Now to the specifics, I was told that I should pay $99 extra for a UV topcoat, that was fine I agreed. I also told them that I wanted all of the black trim redone and was told that it would be done and look brand-new. Due to the extra long time that it took for them to do my car I was told that I would not be charge for my black trim to be done. When I arrived to pick up my car the black trim was not done, there were several dents still in place, the entire front bumper looked as if it had a towel pressed into the the paint as it was drying. Parts of the door jam or still the original car color, parts of the trim or still the original car color. Paint was smeared on the black trim areas of my car around the entire car. There was sand and debris under the paint causing it to be uneven and rough. When I asked Matt about these things he told me that was normal for the package that I purchased. He then went on to say that this was normal "orange-peel" so I asked him to please show me where I signed off acknowledged or was told that my car would have sand in the finish. He then told me that I did not. When I pointed out the dents, he told me that they did take dents out. I told him I understood however they did not take all of them out and that's what I paid for. He then got very sarcastic and rude at which point I asked for a manager and he told me he was a manager so then I then asked him to get a manager that could understand what I was talking about and could talk to me in a rational manner. Ivan then came out and explained everything and said that it wasn't orange peel, he walked around the car and marked all of the troubled areas of the marker and promised to have it fixed. Fast forward to the 8th, I was told my car was ready. I go to pick it up the emblems were not on the outside of my car they was major overspray and paint smear on the trim pieces of my car. Front of the car was redone and looked amazing. However there were still dents, bubbled areas and sand in paint areas. Long story short I would not have done this had I known what a mess it would be. It took way longer and than I was told and the paint job was not great. read more

My Lexus IS300 was in the worst shape it could possibly be in, the front bumper was being held up with twisty ties, the hood was messed up, the paint was chipping, the back bumper didn't sit right and had a dent from someone backing into me, my right fender was crumpled at the bottom, and the paint was chipping everywhere. So I took it in to get every little thing fixed and repainted. Staff was very helpful, laid out everything in the estimation, and within a month my whole car was fixed. I barely recognized it. I went there initially on a quest & was quite please & suprised with the total upfront honesty that I got. I really expected a scam type of operation & was pleasently suprised at the service I received. I don't know I am still on the fence on where to get my body work done. My lifelong car man, is not 100 % in my favor right now. Changes with your baby are quite difficult to make, I am finding out the hard way. Okay maybe it is time to move on or not. Bottom line Macco treated me great, had me in & out quickly & had a fair price. What's a girl to do? Take great care off you're car, but be careful not to get ripped off. I went in for estimate for fixing the right rear side and bumper replacement . Andre quoted me ~ $850 . A week later , I came across offer 10% off for another location . The guy gave me quote bit more than $1000 for same work. Suprisingly, he refered me to the same Location I went first place . I decided to come back to Andre, he pulled up the quotes and saw the new quote the other guy just did for me in the sys ( turn out you can get two different price from Maacco locations? ) . I went ahead leave my car. first time of coming back, I found scratch on the new bumper,. the explanation is since it is after-market part, it is not perfect and but he will order another . Second time of coming back, I noticed there was a gap between the upper part where it was fixed,repainted and new bumper, I asked him if this looks right to him? once agan, he said it is after-market , you can not expect it to be perfect; since I wanted it cheap, I should've known this. I know they making $$ of the new bumper by charging me $149 and yet can't at least check its quality ??? He also mentioned that I should not go to the other location and "WASTED" his coworker time after he gave me quote already. I had him put my old bumper back on. Third time of coming back, the old bumper is intact with a gap , I showed him pic I took shows no gap before the repair, and asked him to explain since this is no after-market part, he said b/c the bumper was bumped into so it no longer fit as before(?) and how he did not charge me labor to put it on (?) . I did final check on the paint part,noticed buble and dents on the new paint, I waited 10 minutes for it to be fixed. Went in make payment. Came out , checked again, found buble on another side, he said they did not work on this part. after another 10 minutes, he brought the car back and explained it was from the top coat they put on. (??) . he took the bumper of the bill and still charged me work labor Poor work quality and lack of professionalism ! read more

Had a great experience here. I was rear ended and needed to find a decent body shop that I was able to trust, and they did a great job. They work with geico regularly, so it was very easy to discuss any needed changes directly with the insurance company. Enterprise rent a car was just up the road so it made it easy for them to connect me with a car rental. They replaced all the parts and the truck looks good as new. Terrible shop! They "repaired" my car after an accident and it's is in worse shape than before the accident!! They had it for 3 weeks and accomplished nothing! Orange peel paint job, door is still misaligned, there's a crack in the fender they "fixed", replaced a headlight with one that's in much worse condition than my other, and I still have extreme rubbing on my front, left tire when I make a sharp left turn. Three of them, including Ivan, tried to tell me that it was due to the new tire I had to put on, because it had more tread than my other tires. Ridiculous! Now, I have to take it to another MAACO to have the work done, AGAIN!! That puts me another week without my vehicle, because this shop put junk parts on that were defective. I guess, because I'm a woman, they thought they could bs their way into getting me to believe my car looked and handled great. My car floats all over the road and vibrates at certain speeds. Plus, when they put the driver's door panel back on, they left the door light plug hanging out, so I had no light on the door and the rubber molding was falling off. I had it checked out by an outside shop and was told they weren't sure if it was even safe to drive. Three months later and I'm still trying to resolve this. I wouldn't take a bicycle to this sketchy shop!! I dealt with very shady employees. Stay away from this place, especially if you're a woman!! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I had my car there in August to paint the passenger side panel, buff the roof and touch up the drivers side panel. Because I was traveling, they had my car for ~3 weeks and when I went to pick it up only the the passenger side had been completed. Andre (very nice, and, unfortunately, in no way represents the overall business) got the roof buffed, and attempted to put some touch up paint on the drivers side before they closed. He told me to give them a call if I wasn't happy with how that turned out. I was heading out of town again, so I gave them a call this morning and spoke with Ivan. This is a person that should never be near customers. I explained the situation to him and he tells me that last time they were nice to let me keep my car there, and 1 week is too long. He accused me of trying to bypass airport parking fees by leaving my car with them for a week (apparently he has never heard of Uber), and called me an inconsiderate customer for thinking I could leave my car there. He took no responsibility for their half completed job and told me that I don't know how to listen. Don't make the same mistake as me, go to any other auto body shop in town. read more

On 12/1/2020 I Spoke with a male who I later identified as IVAN. I explained that I'd need a actuator for my left rear door. IVAN empathized and offered suggestions and requested I bring the vehicle by. I arrived today 12/3/2020 and met with IVAN who promptly walked out to my Vehicle got in the back seat and released/unlocked what I assumed was a frozen actuator. Well, That's what Chrysler advised I had, "a frozen actuator". Chrysler quoted a price out the door, parts and labor of "610.00"! You read it right, "610.00"! IVAN didn't charge me one cent for his services he rendered. I cant begin to tell you how highly I recommend this particular Maaco on Anderson Ave for it's fairness and honesty, refreshing to say the lease. With Covid -19 reeking havoc on everyone in 2020 it was refreshing to experience IVAN, a good and fair man. The embodiment of the human condition. Godspeed IVAN, I will pay it forward. read more

First of all let me start by saying I have been a Maaco customer for 17 years. They do phenomenal work but this was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered with any Maaco in my life!!! I have had about 15 cars painted at Maaco in the past and never have I ever been treated so poorly.. Andre told me what I wanted to hear to get my money and once I gave them the job, which was suppose to take "4-5 days" according to him ...It wasn't ready to be picked up about a week and a half later and when I picked it up the body work & paint job they did was beyond horrible!!! They didn't put my door handles together as he told me he would , my convertible top handle was disassembled and he did not resemble it. As far as the paint job it was choppy ! Orange peel from front to back ! Mind you I had them paint the car red ! He charged me extra to fix a dent which is fine. Sad part it was a half ass job that was done. The dent is still visible ! Now, when I complained to a him that I refuse to pay until they fix the issues he told me he no longer wanted to deal with me and if I don't pay him he will put a lien on my vehicle and keep it!!! What kind of customer service is that?! A FULL PAYING customer should not be treated like this in no way !! I paid all this money to have my car painted , dent fixed, etc just to end up with a horrible job & experience with this particular location. Please stay away from this particular Maaco!!! They are very unprofessional employees ! Might I add I am an employee at a different Maaco (in which I couldn't get my car painted at my location due to us already having many cars to do) where we treat our customers with upmost respect and our work is up to par and we have a phenomenal staff!! I highly recommend anyone needing car repairs start here. It does not get better than Ivan and his crew. Last year my daughter and myself were victims of getting in a wreck that was not our fault. We used Ivan for both and he did an outstanding job. Recently, my step daughter hit a truck in a car in our name as well as the insurance in our name. I contacted the insurance company and realized if I ran thru them, my rates would increase by $200 a month for 3 years. I brought to Ivan and he did an amazing repair for a fraction of that. Very friendly service guys! We had to bring the car in to replace a side mirror on our Camry. We called ahead to let them know I was coming at 12pm. When I showed up they took the car right away and I was out within 30 minutes. Prices aren't that bad either. Definitely recommend. read more
