My boyfriend, our dog, and I ended up booking this B&B last minute after leaving another accommodation early because it had bugs (including a camel spider in our bed ). We found this place online at resnexus.com as well Yelp and stalked their website, loved the photos, read the reviews, and immediately felt relieved when we arrived. The Piñon Casita was adorable, the property itself is beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts seemed friendly. For the first hour or so I was thinking, Thank goodness, we finally found the place. Unfortunately, things slowly started going downhill from there. The first night, the fireplace wouldn't work. We messaged the hosts, sent photos, tried troubleshooting it ourselves, and eventually just gave up and accepted we'd be having a fireplace-free evening. It wasn't the end of the world, and we figured hey, stuff happens. The next day they came and fixed it, which we appreciated. Then came the washer. One of the reasons we were excited about this casita was because it included a washer and dryer. Earlier in the week we'd already spent time at a laundromat, so we were looking forward to doing laundry before our 8-hour drive home. We started a load and got a 4E error less than halfway through the wash. We looked it up ourselves, we tried troubleshooting, we messaged the hosts, we followed their suggestions, and we tried different cycles. At this point I felt less like a guest and more like the on-call appliance technician. They eventually told us the washer had been fixed while we were out hiking, so we were excited to finally do laundry. Spoiler alert it wasn't fixed. Same error. We tried again later that evening. Same issue. Then around 11 PM the washer completely shut off and locked our wet laundry inside. We messaged the hosts again because we were supposed to leave the next morning after breakfast and start an 8-hour drive home. The response that frustrated us most wasn't even the broken washer, it was being told that because we hadn't specifically mentioned on the phone that we intended to use the washer and dryer, (And she said that they don't accept same day bookings, but made an exception for us, though that was never communicated nor was this a policy written anywhere on their website) compensation wouldn't be considered. Respectfully, if an amenity is advertised, guests shouldn't have to announce ahead of time that they plan on using it. That's like asking if the shower works before booking because you intend to shower. We weren't asking for a huge refund. We weren't asking for hundreds of dollars back. Even a small gesture of goodwill $50 to $100 off the stay would have gone a long way and would have shown that they understood the inconvenience. Instead, we paid full price despite having a fireplace that didn't work the first night and a washer/dryer that never functioned properly during our stay. To add to that, there were also multiple spiders and bugs inside the casita. I understand this is the countryside and bugs exist. Trust me, I get it. But after literally leaving our previous accommodation because of bugs, it wasn't exactly what we hoped to deal with again. The next morning our laundry was still trapped in the washer. Eventually my boyfriend ended up figuring out the breaker issue himself after staff told us where the breaker panel was located. We rushed to get our laundry spun and dried before checkout, but they still weren't completely dry. So instead of leaving relaxed after a nice getaway, we ended up starting our 8-hour drive home later than planned with damp laundry shoved into a trash bag. The frustrating part is that this review could have been completely different. The property is beautiful, the breakfast was genuinely fantastic, the casita itself is cute and cozy. And honestly, if the hosts had simply acknowledged the inconvenience and offered even a small amount of compensation, I probably would've happily overlooked most of this. Instead, we left feeling like the burden of fixing the problems fell on us while still paying full price for amenities we couldn't properly use. It's a lovely property, but unfortunately the way these issues were handled means we won't be returning.

The rustic charm is everywhere from the Spanish tile bathroom to the spacious bedroom. There are chair on the front porch to sit and enjoy the court yard. Our room had an open but private back porch with more chairs. We enjoyed some coffee here before heading to breakfast, Breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Nga was amazing. Wished we were able to stay longer. I would give this place 7 stars ( 2 bonus stars)

The rooms were beautiful and clean, really cute fireplace in the room and the balcony opens to the yard which we could see snow out of! The overall grounds are gorgeous and well kept, staff at the front desk were also very friendly and helpful giving us directions and popular spots to see around Taos. They had hot coffee, tea, and bottled water for us to take at any time. It was my partner's birthday, someone came up and hand delivered chocolate strawberries free of charge to the room as well as a card and we dined at the restaurant for dinner and they gave us free dessert and little free macaroons in a to go bag. Talk about above and beyond service. Lovely time 10/10, only complaint was the food in the restaurant was 7-8/10 taste for $$$ prices but all in all great experience.

The front Staff is great as always but for the price our room wasn't not worth it this year. Dinner- we ordered 3 items. The beet tartare was very good. The Brussels Sprouts were swimming in balsamic glaze and couldn't eat it. The ratatouille tasted good but was warm on the outside and cold inside. I think our waiter was new as he asked us how we wanted the beet tartare cooked and never asked why we didn't eat 2 of our meals.

The rooms are unique, individual and perfectly appointed. Isaiah works his magic in the kitchen and it shows in the food. Each day i wake up excited to see what he has made for breakfast. Staff was great, both at desk, in adobe bar and housekeeping/maintenance. Only bummer was that Doc Martin, the onsite restaurant was only open days we already had plans. Note for weekday stays, check that restaurants are actually open before heading out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, even if recommended by front desk.

Let's take the tour. The carpet was dirty and buckled, rising up toward the bathroom threshold like it was personally trying to trip me. Nothing says "vacation" like a rug plotting your death. The air conditioning was a window unit roughly the size of a lunchbox and twice as loud, valiantly cooling approximately one square foot of the room while I sweated through the historic sheets. It sounded like a small aircraft trying and failing to take off. All night. The bed deserves its own paragraph. It was old, lumpy, and screamed like a haunted door hinge every single time I so much as breathed. I've slept on futons with more dignity and less commentary. But the crown jewel, the pièce de résistance , is the bathroom doorway, which stands a proud six feet tall. I am 6'3". There was no warning. No little sign, no cheerful "mind your head," nothing. I knocked the absolute daylights out of my skull walking into my own bathroom. In my $250 room. At night. In a place I paid to be. I'm not disappointed. Disappointed is what you feel about a mediocre breakfast. I am angry. I know Taos isn't cheap. I get it. But I paid the exact same amount at La Fonda the night before and it was genuinely lovely - clean, comfortable, and notably free of surprise architectural head trauma. Historic Taos Inn, you owe me an ice pack and an apology. Duck when you enter. Bring earplugs. Bring a helmet. Maybe just stay somewhere else.

For those who live in the Denver area it's only 4+ hours drive. I got to talk to the owner (the husband of the married couple) just this morning when I was having an Avocado Toast in the dining room. He worked in the corporate America for 25+ years. When he got tired of it he and his wife bought this hotel. It had been abandoned by the previous owner for some time so after he had purchased it he renovated the entire premises to turn it into what is now today. He and his wife certainly have great tastes in everything as the charm they created is simply bonita. Depending on the room you choose, it's equipped with a beautiful copper bath tub that can easily hold two people. The water that comes out of the faucet is pure, twice filtered deep aquifer well water. And the healing power of cooper will ease all sorts of aches and pains. The exquisiteness of soaking in such a tub is of an experience you can't enjoy at home. If you end up staying here, eating breakfast in the designated dining room is a must. They grow their own vegetables in their garden which is served in most of the dishes listed on the menu. At night, enjoy stargazing in the parking lot or the outdoor fireplace just right outside of the dining room. The number of stars you can gaze upon makes your stay more memorable and mesmerizing. Giving this place 5 stars is a humiliation; it deserves at least 10 or more stars. This place is that great. I can't wait to come back here. I might do that maybe next weekend (lol!!)

Funny, down to earth and make every single interaction memorable. That's rare! Last time I stayed in Jazzy, comfy and clean and the bed was nice. This time I noticed the towels could use a refresh, the linens, pillows and mattresses are getting pretty dated as well. We had a very cozy stay, with a fire and ample heat in our trialed for the 37 degree night we had. Always love the coffee and chill vibes of this place. Cannot wait to come back!

A friend of ours also staying here had to use our shower as their shower's water was off. The window coverings on the narrow entry door do not fully cover. You can see our bed in our room at night from the courtyard. Breakfast was cold, including the water for tea. The milk and juice were warm and it was only 10 minutes after breakfast began being served. The shuttle took 45 minutes after requested We do not recommend this place.
