The first crew delivered solid work on the drain line and concrete, but the vapor barrier installation was sloppy--uneven trimming, gaps, and inconsistent application. They also removed a board supporting the incoming water line without explanation, leaving it hanging from a wire and damaging the clamp. Their initial attempt to "fix" it involved taping the board to a pipe, which was not a proper or safe solution. The sump pump outlet was also installed in a way that caused the discharge pipe to partially block it, putting pressure on the plug. Communication was another major issue. I was never given a dedicated point of contact. I had to reach out to the salesperson again just to report problems. He forwarded my concerns to the office, and I was eventually contacted by Christal. She was professional and genuinely helpful, but her phone number repeatedly showed as disconnected, and only some text messages went through. The beam repairs appear to have been completed in the easiest way possible, with little consideration for the work that would need to happen afterward. The crew cut the subfloor approximately three inches away from the walls and left it unsupported. As a result, my flooring contractor had to tear out two sections of flooring and replace the entire subfloor in those areas because the necessary repairs were never addressed during the original project. Even more frustrating, JES only opened a limited section of the floor instead of exposing the entire affected area. Once the flooring contractor had everything opened up, additional damaged wood was discovered that now requires even more repairs. Since JES was already working in that area, it is difficult to understand how these issues weren't identified or why the floor wasn't opened far enough to properly inspect the entire section. Addressing everything while the area was already exposed would have saved significant time, cost, and disruption. The inspection process was another major disappointment. The county inspection failed and was rescheduled without anyone from JES informing me ahead of time. I was then told that no one from JES would attend the reinspection and that it was between me and the county. As a homeowner, I'm not a contractor and shouldn't be expected to answer technical questions or represent the company's work to the building inspector. I hired JES expecting professional workmanship, thorough planning, and support through the entire process. Instead, I've been left coordinating additional repairs, paying for work that could have been avoided, and handling inspection issues that should have been managed by the contractor. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend JES Repair. UPDATE (07/08/2026): I connected with the resolution team and are working through the issues in a positive and constructive manner.

They promised they would not break through asbestos tiles, but instead carefully lift them. They blasted right through the asbestos tiles requiring us to talk to a remediation company and do a safety clean up (though they insisted that wasn't necessary when we complained and accused us of trying to bleed them for unnecessary expenses -- we had not even asked them for a dime, and they were the ones who broke an explicit promise to us). They left open gaps in the cement after covering the french drain that we had to have addressed after they left (after confirming with this company that they would not accuse us of voiding the warranty if we did) and totally destroyed the efficacy of our radon mitigation sytem, which they said nothing to us about when inspecting the site to provide their workplan and estimate before the install. They claimed not to see it, but the radon system has bright red labels all over it and was in plain sight for both the inspection and while the guys were doing the work. Ray Charles would have seen it. So, we've had to pay more to address that. Insult to injury, our security system picked up one of their guys looking through our stuff in the basement, and when we complained about that, the owner made implicit threats about how we would ruin a relationship in which we may need them to come make repairs to our system in the future if we told anyone about it. As others have mentioned, he also offered us $100 to not post bad reviews. We didn't take the money, but others might, so careful on relying on reviews for this company. Spare yourselves. Go with someone else.

Tim was great to work with, providing valuable info about aspects of the project I hadn't considered, and explaining everything thoroughly along the way. Landscape and Drainage extended downspouts, added French drains and drain boxes, and took down two trees. They also offered the best price of the three companies I got estimates from. I was so happy with the results and the experience working with them that I sent Tim to my parents' house, where he did additional drainage and tree work. Before and After pictures were all taken after significant amount of rain; you can really see the difference!

My wife and I moved into a 70 year old house on a hill. The previous owners had done quite a bit of…read morework - french drain, waterproofing the basement, 3 sump pumps, steel beam reinforced walls - but we spotted some water along the basement wall. Tim came out to look at that and a bunch of other stuff (future work), and gave us a plan to resolve the immediate issues. On the inside, his guys came out and jackhammered along our foundation, installed a new system to collect and direct any water seeping through the wall to our existing sump pump discharge line, and laid new concrete. They even worked around a bit of a curveball without needing to deviate from the estimate. Outside, they dug a 22-ft trench and installed a french drain to alleviate the hydrostatic pressure on the basement wall, routed our HVAC condensate line into the french drain, installed 2 new window wells which allowed them to grade the yard away from the house, and installed another french drain on the far end of the garden to help mitigate the flash flooding we experience there. They finished up by laying fescue sod over the affected area, making it look nice and clean. All of the work was done in two days, with some minor cleanup work on the 3rd day after the concrete had cured in the basement. The price was good, the guys worked hard, the work was done on time, and the final product was excellent. We will be using them again for our retaining walls, landscaping, and whatever else comes our way.
