We had bad water pooling, William Russ came in and knew exactly what we needed and put in a drainage system, piped in our downspouts, leveled out the back, put in a catch basin and brought the drain very discrete to the street with nice river rocks. For the job I hired them for, it was done in a timely manner. Unfortunately we had to reschedule due to rain the first time but it all worked out. My tiny front yard of my town house was taken over by weeds and we just couldn't keep up. So they removed all the rocks and moved my planted flowers evenly and laid the weeds sheet down. Very pleased with the finished look. Price seemed fair compared to some other quotes I got. Still a nice chunk of change but they were professional and quick. I'd use their services again! read more

I had an issue with water/moisture seeping through the cinder block foundation and into the crawl space. For the estimation visit, Bill listened to my ideas on a solution. He came from Virginia to Damascus, a good distance. He outlined what we discussed should be done and send a written estimate the next day. I had a conflict with the original day to start working, Bill re-worked his schedule to arrive at a mutual new start date. On the start date, Bill and his crew arrived promptly at the agreed upon time of 8:30. His crew removed a sizable stump, trenched around the foundation, applied a high quality membrane to the cinder block, Back-filled, re-sloped and created a small swale to channel the water. Well. I scheduled an appointment. After about being 15 minutes late I texted him. No reply. I also know he read it because of good ole iMessage. So I called him about 5 times and left a message once. No reply. So, I'm sure he forgot about the appointment and I'm sure he's a busy man. But completely blew me off and never had the decency to return any calls or messages. Bad business. Similar to others, we got totally screwed by this guy. First of all he is NOT licensed nor insured (business card is fake). Second he is not experienced with major drainage issues and made our basement flooding worse than it was before they installed box drains and foundation wrap. Third he is nonresponsive and his "warranty" is worthless once he has your money. We had plenty of family emergency excuses from him too. He talks a good game but I was looking for a peaceful backyard and what I got is less then a quarter of a fence, no lawn, no landscaping, no hardscape, a poorly set patio, and he's no longer communicating with us! DO NOT HIRE!!!! This contractor promised me superior service. To my demise, I paid up front, thinking they would finish a simple yard refresh over a couple of days on new construction property. They came once and did about a third of the work and have ultimately never come back. In the first three months, he was responsive and kept saying he was scheduling me in for the week. Eventually, he started not to return or answer my texts or calls. It has been going on for six months now. He left the job partially completed and took my 1,850 dollars. We had some water creeping into our basement of our townhouse when it rained/snowed and were pretty overwhelmed. There had just been so much snow, and rain that there was standing water leading up to the house, I was afraid to leave the house for the weekend, even just to work for the day when it was raining. The gutters simply didn't redirect water far enough away from the house. Bill had been out for a previous project to help bury the sump output (and redirect the outlet to the back of our yard) and noticed some cracks in our foundation, and came up with a complete solution for us, that included fixing the foundation cracks, digging a channel below the foundation and laying down a membrane and burying our downspouts, and redirecting them far away from the foundation. Apparently, this is a fairly common issue with 30+ year old townhouses in Northern, VA. And for some reason, end units in particular are more susceptible to cracks than the middle units. He was very responsive to email and phone/texts and made sure we knew what he was doing/why, and what we needed to do ahead of time. He drew up the contract very quickly, and he was able to put us on the schedule very quickly. He brought a competent/professional team, and had the work done on time and according to the agreement, all at a fair price. Our basement has been bone dry ever since, even in heavy rain/snow. We have had some bad luck with contractors on both the inside/outside of our house. We really couldn't be happier with the work he did, and absolutely recommend him to anyone in the area with drainage/landscaping issues. read more
