I look great, and the manager of the store had a vision! She basically mixed the filter x spray with the golden eye shadow to make a paste of gold. She is creative! I wanted to start by saying that I have not shopped at MAC at this location for a few years. I was in the area, and I decided to stop by. To my surprise the girls are much nicer, super sweet and willing to help. I was looking for foundation the employee showed me foundation that I wanted and so much more that honestly I didn't even want to see. I've been to this location quite a few times and the girls are always helpful and sweet. Today, I called to locate a foundation that to my surprise has been discontinued so I've been on a hunt for the last of them. The store manager, Jenny, was absolutely amazing. So happy to find out the new MAC Cosmetics store at the Escondido Westfield mall! No more need to get just a sample of all these great products from Nordstrom. You can get the real deal, try on everything and get a free makeup session from the beauty counselors working there. I did my own eye make-up during my lunch hour today (lucky me, I am so close to this mall:) using the latest eye shadows and eyeliners palette and loved the results. Got compliments the whole day. I really like the quality of MAC products, and the girls here are not pushy and also don't have that scary Gothic look as in other stores that turn me off (sorry, not my kind of look and I think make up should be enhancing the natural beauty or covering up things we don't like, not creating a theatrical mask, unless you work in theater). Check the 'A fantasy of flowers' newer collection and try everything. The price is worth it as, for example, the shadows, last forever. Shadows, blushes are great beauty investments. You can skip the nail polish if you want cheaper options (there is always coupons in CVS for cheaper brands, and we change the nail polish every couple of days, don't we?). Like most other females, I love makeup just like any other. I prefer the lighter more natural makeup and MAC tends to be on the heavier darker tones. This store is very small in size, so it shouldn't be hard for someone to greet you. There are wall units on each side on the store, register in the back and two vertical units in the middle. My daughter and I walked in as I had bought one of their lipsticksand nordstrom's and wanted to see what the price was for a replacement. When we walked in, there were two people working, however they had no idea how to greet someone that comes in their store. We had to stand around and wait for someone. Finally, one rep turned around to say something but we were just about to be helped by the other person. The reps had wayyyy too much makeup on and one was not dressed appropriately. Came in this store on Wednesday, grabbed my one item and waited at the register to pay. I waited for ten minutes for a store employee to show up so I could pay and leave. Finally an associate showed up and began to ring up another customer who had not been waiting. She then looked at me and said "There's still one other person ahead of you." Ahead of me? I have a huge wedding to attend on Saturday and 2 of my makeup artists canceled on me. With that being said, I was in a pretty bad spot. It is with true honesty that the only reason I come into the MAC Escondido store is to see Lindsey shokouhi. She is very beautiful inside and out and she is the most nicest sweetest and wonderful MAC makeup artist! She has done my makeup several times through the years and she is very gorgeous. When you walk in the store and she sees you she will stop what she is doing and run to give you a warm hug and compliment. She makes you feel good about yourself without even applying a makeup on ! Came here over the weekend strictly for my Back To MAC free lipstick (bring in 6 empty MAC containers, get a free lipstick). I had lost one of my faves, Diva, a few months ago and figured my freebie would go towards that. Most of the workers looked busy helping customers, which was fine, so I patiently waited and browsed around til one of them was done. One of them who may or may not still have been assisting another customer asked if I needed any help, so I asked her if Diva was in stock. She said she would check when she got the chance. OK. Waited around some more and she never got back to me. Another lady, who was really polite, btw, offered to help me get it after she asked if I needed help. I pulled out a mini lip gloss I brought for Back To MAC, and she said it was fine. So I waited around for her bc it seemed like she was in the back getting it. She was taking forever. I almost forgot what she looked like, but remembered just as she was walking out of the store like she had just clocked out. WTHECK. OK. I went up towards the front of the counter and waited to the side of a worker who was acknowledging/ holding a KITTEN that a little boy had brought inside. (Who even brings a kitten to the mall???) After a couple minutes of me feeling even more stupid for waiting, she finally helped me. I took out my empty containers for her to look at, and I brought more than 6 just in case. So I take out these 4 mini lip glosses that came in one holiday package (many years ago), bronzer, and MSF. She tells me her manager says that the 4 mini lip glosses count only as 1 package, even though originally they came as 5, but they still accepted it. I ended up giving her 3 more empty containers just to get the heck outta there. She gave me the lipstick without even a bag. Ugh, ok. Overall, their customer service needs a lot of work, and I most likely won't be coming back to this location. read more

I am SO HAPPY that there is finally a free-standing MAC store in the North County area! I no longer have to commute down to Fashion Valley to buy certain products that are sold exclusively at stores. I find it really convenient that MAC is located right across from Nordstrom's cosmetics department. It's easily accessible if the counter doesn't have what I'm looking for, or if I want foundation samples. Unfortunately MAC doesn't give out samples like Nordstrom and Sephora! That's always been their thing, and I don't know why. The store is great, overall. The ladies here are very nice and attentive. The store is well-stocked, and the testers are clean. I just got married this past weekend and I came to get my bridal make-up done by Lindsey. I also booked a bridal make-up trial a few weeks earlier with the same make-up artist and I'm glad I did. I never had smokey eyes done on me before so the trial gave me some time to determine if I wanted that look for my wedding day. I received so many compliments but I just wasn't completely used to it. However, on my wedding day I LOVED it and felt like the most beautiful bride! My make-up was smokey and yet it wasn't overdone. It helped that my matron-of-honor and I booked Lindsey and another artist for their private room so there were no interruptions from customers outside. When I did my trial we were outside and Lindsey had to be available to answer questions from customers which made my session take even longer. I am super happy this store is here. I usually would go to the MAC store in Nordstrom but I like this one so much more. The size allows for a lot more product which usually is overwhelming due to my severe lack of knowledge regarding anything outside of mascara but wasn't so bad because I was greeted immediately by Jessica. She was super friendly, listened to what I usually liked and showed me how to apply makeup properly. She also gave me small tips for more natural looks. She recommended new products but was never pushy about making the sale. There were times when the store got really busy and she would have to leave me to help someone else but only after making sure I was ok with it and she apologized when it took a little longer then expected. I don't know if I came during a weird shift scheduling or if it is the norm, but it just seemed like it was really busy at the store and there was not enough staff to go around. None of the employees were rude but they seemed overwhelmed. Its hard to please every customer when you are short staffed and have to leave one person to help another every few minutes. It would not deter me from going to this store or from recommending people from visiting there. Especially because the staff was so sweet! read more

The first time I went in, I felt so neglected, I thought, "OK, I'll start playing with their stuff and then they'll come help me." I have been to a number of MAC locations in the past. This location is small, so if you ever come here during their busy times, make sure you have patience on your side. This store accepts cash and credit/debit cards. Normally this place is jam packed with customers. Luckily, I came in early morning during the week and a really nice makeup artist was able to assist me. If you have a color or a look you are looking for make sure you describe it to the makeup artist that is helping you. Keep in mind they are not magicians, so they won't know what you would typically like, but I'm sure they can assist you in finding something that you would feel comfortable wearing. I walked into this location knowing what I wanted, so it was easy for me to get in and get out. MAC Cosmetics offer a recycle program and for every 6 pieces of any MAC Cosmetic regular containers you turn in, in exchange, you get a free lipstick, eye shadow or lip gloss. I use lipstick more often than the other items, so I settled with lipstick. Just keep in mind, what you take home you can not return or exchange for a different color. FYI: The transaction/exchange is final. So if you have further questions or concerns about their recycle program feel free to call the location for details. As for my purchase, I picked up two mineral blushes and thankfully they had it in stock. When she rang me up she mentioned that she was planning to do a makeup class. I attended her class this past Sunday, and I ended up being her makeup model to teach us how to do a glow. Sophia is theeee most amazing artist I have ever been to! I've been to a few over the years and she takes her time, really connects with her clients and listens to your concerns/wants. Before going to her, I refused to wear foundation because of it making my skin itch before (with a different artist.) After getting my Halloween makeup done with Sophia (which was flawless), my face did not itch at ALL! She told me she makes sure her brushes are extremely clean for each client and that may have been the issue in the past, with the other artist. She's also funny and doesn't make your eye water with the way she puts on eyeliner - I've always had an issue with this before going to her!
