So disappointed !!! I've been using Mac for many years and I love the all there products so much that I own the old makeup box have all there brushes and etc... but the customer service has been going down hill that I stop shopping at stores and ordering online. But as I'm getting older I wanted to change my foundation and get recommendation on concealers and stock up on all my makeup and brushes. So I decide to stop at the Escondido mall Mac store as I walked in a girl approached me asked if she could help me so I proceeding to tell her that I was looking for a full coverage foundation and that I've been using the the studio fix. As I was talking to her she had this very blank and lost look on her face and she reply's "how or what are you using to apply my makeup ?! " I responded with a Mac brush !! Instead of her recommending concealers or show me other things I could do to get better coverage and all she had to say was "studio fix is the full coverage" and walked away !! I thought she was going for help or go ask someone for help because obviously she was lost. But she went to help someone else !!! So I have decide I will no longer support Mac makeup if the company can not controle their employees or teach them better manners in customer service I will no longer support or waist my money on rude employees I rather make the big change and start with a new makeup line !!! Very rude employee experience. When I got there both employees were doing makeup for two women. I said hi, asked if they had a lipstick in stock and one of them said we will be with you in a moment. I was totally ok with that since they were doing makeup for customers, so I browsed around for about 10 minutes. When it became 15 minutes I went back and was told they'd be with me again...in a moment...they looked annoyed that I was still there and one of them didn't even look at me when they said it and just like that I was dismissed. I just left, I didn't want to be in a place in which I felt like a little kid scolded by the parents. Having an attitude, rolling your eyes, is not ok. You're working in customer service. 0 stars. I went in while there was one other customer having their makeup done. I don't purchase makeup at this location, ever, but happened to be in the area. From what I could see, there was only one associate helping a customer out and our eyes met too. She did not acknowledge me by saying "Hello" or "Someone will be with you shortly to help you". I was looking for one specific product and I opened the drawers to see if the product I was looking for. Apparently, customers are not allowed to open the drawers and only MAC associate are. Who the hell would know? There are no signs and locks. Victoria Secret have drawers and you can open them. Some new associate from the cashier approached me and yelled, "WHOA! You cannot open the drawers! Only employees can. I know there aren't a lot of associates to help you, but we will come over if you wait a minute." For real? Girl, relax. You are awful naive if you think I would shoplift or destroy the products while I'm in a t-shirt and jeans. Hell, it is not even in the back of my mind to do such thing. The yelling across the store room isn't helping either. She seemed to be fuming and proceeded to comment, "It's not even in that drawer." (the product I was looking for). While I was checking out, she continued again to say, "WE can only open the drawers and if you just wait for a little bit, we will help you." Chill, girl. I heard you the first time. Terrible, rude and all around unattentive staff who should be working somewhere else. I should have gone to Nordstrom where the staff is actually friendly and attentive. Terrible customer service. Went in with an empty bottle of foundation wanting to replace it with the same. The salesperson was applying makeup on a customer and turned to me and asked "canI help you?" I told her I just needed a bottle of the same. She looked at it and said, "we don't carry it anymore, sorry." T hen turned around and kept on working. She never offered a different product or a suggestion, or even called out then salesgirl from the back to help. Nothing. Finally I asked, do you not sell foundation at all anymore? "Oh,yeah, if you want to wait until i'm done with her, I can help you. Sooooo.......since I didn't have 30 minutes to wait around for a bottle of makeup I went to the Clinique counter at Macy's and was immediatedly taken care of. I booked an appointment to have my make up done. I was looking for some new products to purchase and also had a special event coming up. First it was $60 just to have my make up done. Most of the make up brands I'm familiar with ask that you purchase somewhere around $40 worth of product and the make up application is free. The $60 included a mascara but I didn't need or want one. For $60 I would have expected a professional job but that was not what I got. The lady asked me what types of products and colors I was interested in and did the exact opposite of everything that I said. I said I don't like to wear orange lipstick and she put bright orange lipstick on me. I said I have no interest in wearing false eyelashes and she put them on me anyway. I immediately asked her to take them off because they made me feel uncomfortable and I just did not want them. The foundation was completely caked on my face, especially around my mouth and chin, which brought out wrinkles I didn't even know I had. It looked awful and did not even blend into my neck. After my make up was finished I started shopping for some of the products that I had mentioned when the lady asked me what I was looking for but unfortunately did not have a chance to try that day. She proceeded to follow me around the store and make me feel uncomfortable. I left feeling ripped off and looking like a fool. I feel that my experience with this store reflects horribly on the MAC brand. I paid to have my make up done and the person who applied it was not skilled, qualified, or professional and wasn't even capable of basic customer service. read more

Took my friend to get her makeup done for her birthday. Ross was amazing! He literally looked at our inspo photo for about 2 seconds and was able to do it exactly! We were super impressed. My friend even said beforehand that she was probably gonna need to warn him that she's sensitive around her eyes, but he did it so quickly and gently that she had no issues! I was kind of hesitant at first because of the bad reviews for this particular store, plus I'm Asian and I heard that we get ignored at MAC stores despite their slogan "all ages, all races, all sexes". Still, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled a makeup appointment (a free service w/minimum purchase of $50) yesterday, which was a Sunday. As I walked in, I was immediately acknowledged and greeted with a smile by a gorgeous girl and was offered help. Turns out, she was scheduled to be my MUA! I was glad to hear that, because, aside from making me feel welcome at the door, she also had perfect makeup on. Her name is Sofia and she was fun and friendly and yet very professional. She asked what kind of makeup I had in mind, what I was expecting from the product, what my skin type was. She then put together the products I needed to get the "long lasting, natural w/smokey eyes" look I was going for. I was not used to putting on makeup, so she showed me how to apply each product, the brushes to use, plus the versatility of each product. She also made sure that I was comfortable with finished look after each step and made the proper adjustment/correction with each feedback. She was very knowlegeable about MAC products and gave me great tips and tricks. I did not feel rushed at all. I love that my makeup looked beautiful without feeling overdone. She made lots of good suggestions without being pushy. I had such an incredible experience, so I ended up buying most of the products she recommended: Pro Longwear concealer, Pro Longwear liquid foundation, Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, Sheertone blush, Fluidline eye pencil, Pro Colour x 4 compact, 3 eyeshadows, Studio Sculpt Superblack Lash mascara, Pro Longwear lip pencil, Matte lipstick, Brush cleanser (received a set of makeup brushes for Christmas). I would give this location a zero if I could. I've been there about 5 times since it opened and I've found the customer service to be deplorable. Most recently, I went in to recycle some containers, I encountered Summer. I had been waiting for a couple of minutes and she came from the back and looked at me and looked at the woman who had JUST WALKED IN, looked at me again and ultimately opted to help the girl who had just walked in. So I asked her for her name. Then I saw Lindsey who was walking past me and I noticed there was a couple of ladies (who appeared to be mother and daughter) that just walked into the store. As Lindsey was walking past me I asked her if there was someone available to help me and she there would be in a couple of minutes and then proceeded to go and help the ladies that had just walked in! SNUBBED TWICE IN 1 VISIT! I was absolutely LIVID! I spoke with a supervisor named Christina who tried to apologize for that experience but slapping a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound has never worked to my knowledge so I asked to speak with the area manager or whomever that could really do something about this situation so she took my information. I received a call from the store manager Lahnie later that day and she genuinely seemed to be disappointed that this had happened. She advised that she had already spoken with the offenders and would again after she spoke to me. She offered me a free makeup session, which was very nice. Anyway, it really sucks because this store is like 4 miles away from my home. Before I was having to drive 19-27 miles away to the location in Carlsbad or Fashion Valley (respectively) so this location is much more convenient. The first words that come to my mind about my experience at Mac on Saturday was incredible. Right when I walked in Anna asked if I needed help. I told her my concerns I have with makeup and she took amazing care of me. She spent time with me to really show me the ropes on how to do my eyeshadow, face, and eyeliner the way I wanted to learn. Anna is such an amazing makeup artist, but her personality was awesome too. I left feeling so much more confident because of her and a new eyeshadow palette :). I booked a last minute appointment for my make up to get done for my engagement pictures. I was able to get in later in the day. Lindsey did my make-up. She is easy going, gave me suggestions and didn't pressure me into anything I didn't want. I'm an eyelash girl and use a specific brand. Lindsey asked if I wanted to get eyelashes I mentioned, I brought my own. She was so nice and said she would be happy to apply then for me. I've been to other stores who get uptight when I say I brought my own lashes but Lindsey's customer service was pleasant. I'll refer other to her. I really had a good experience at the Mac store today! The store was busy however I was greeted right away and told that they would be with me soon. Summer was the woman who ended up helping me she was very helpful! I was only going to buy a mascara but since Summer was so helpful I purchased a few more things I'm so glad I did because I love the stuff that I bought. It was nice to have a good experience because I haven't before. I am a loyal customer to Mac. All I wear is Mac makeup so yesterday when I visited this new store at the escondido mall I was kind of disappointed. I walked in & no one asked me if I needed any help. I came in to purchase some eye shadow I had just run out of and I was clearly having trouble locating it in the store. I finally asked a clerk to help me & she went and grabbed the color I needed. Then she said let's go up front & pay. When I told her I wasn't done looking around, she took the eyeshadow from me and said she would hold onto it until I was prepared to check out. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I know that Mac needs to exercise lose prevention techniques but I just thought that was plain rude. I can't speak for all cause some of them are fairly attentive and great, but one lady, an older lady in particular, is just down right rude.
