My daughter was getting her make up done for her prom. She does not do her make up like many young lady do so this was a new experience for her. She had pic of ideas of what she wanted her makeup to look like. The person that helped do her makeup did a wonderful job. She asked many questions to my daughter and looked over the pic. My daughter and I were very satisfied and are grateful for Mac staff making my daughter look perfect for prom. I'm sure going to go back when needed too and I recommend it to others . I had the pleasure of getting my makeup done by Marisol. At first I was unsure because I didn't know who she was or if she'd be good at doing my makeup but she did an amazing job. I had gotten my face done for a professional headshot and I felt so pretty and confident all day long. Just had the worst experience I've had at a Mac store ever (9/25 around 8 pm). It wasn't crazy packed, just 1 lady before me and 1 after that. The sales associate, Adriana, was extremely impatient with me. I came from far away because I wanted the palette eyeshadows, so I drove a bit to get there. Otherwise, I would not have given her my sale at all. I even thought about driving to Valley Fair... I told her from the start I wanted 4 eyeshadows. Each time I told her one, she literally scoffed. Like "why god do you want something else?" She was even slamming the drawers in and out looking for the items. One of the shadows I wanted was out of stock (which I don't blame her for). I had to beg her to help me find something similar and once again she scoffed in my face. She asked me if I wanted anything else and at this point I'm basically in tears and tell her to please help the next person. I find the 2 other items I was looking for. I don't want to piss her off at that point, so I open the drawer to get something myself.... she then snaps at me "You can't open the drawers!" That's fine if that's the policy, but the way she snapped it was extremely rude. I wait for her to help me and I'm pretty quiet at that point because I am so upset. She rudely asks me to repeat myself 3 times because she can't just pay attention to me, she's walking all over the store and no one else is even there anymore. Will not be back there again. I was greeted by the friendly employees and asked if I needed help. Most of my friends know I'm a power shopper- I like to get in and out of shops in the least amount of time with the products I had in mind to purchase (with the exception of book stores where I could linger for hours). I purchased the following: Cream In Your Coffee (creamsheen lipstick) $17 Melba (powdered blush) $23 Volcanic Ash (Exfoliator) $30 Charged Water (skin hydrating mist) $25 I wanted to purchase 'Ample Pink' plushglass but they ran out. Dominique was kind enough to call the MAC counter at Macy's and have them put aside 3 for me ($21 each). Apparently, Ample Pink plushglass is uber popular. When I arrived at Macy's the crowd was gone and I made my purchase with ApplePay (easy peasy!). Dominique's customer service was outstanding- super kind and helpful from start to finish, never tried to oversell me but just helped me to find the products I needed and the colors in the lipstick and plushglass. This place is a biggest disappointment for customer service. I went here with my daughter. And I just came in just to get the setting spray and whatever my daughter needs. One lady said to me that if we had any questions please let her know. And of course we did after 5min later looking around and everyone there all the staff was ignoring us. My daughter looked at everyone and and we waited by the register where 2 staff was there look at us and ignore us and walk past us. And yes we even said excuse me we need help. Its been years since ive used Mac although in the past 6 months Ive decided to give another try. I remember now why I stopped. With so many competitive products out on the market why endure the horrible customer service they consistently provide. I had to go into this store on Saturday morning to return a product that I was mis-matched on. My daughter came with me as she was mismatched aswell. We got completely ignored by the one worker behind the counter who couldnt be bothered by our Prescence as they cleaned brushes. not even a simple hello while we spent 10 minutes in this empty store. In the past 6 months ive been to this store 4 times and only 1 time was there an artist who was friendly. ive decided Im returning my items to another store and I will not be purchasing MAC anymore. MAC employees are a representation of the company they work for and I will no longer give my money to companies that fail in customer service. I came here recently to get my makeup done for a wedding. I called ahead of time to make an appt but they didn't have any openings in time for me to make it to the church. They suggested for me to walk in and see if any of the appts would be no-shows. Not a guarantee, but I decided to just try it anyways. I came in and found that there was another woman ahead of me waiting to get my makeup. I was hoping that both appts would be no-shows so we could both get our faces done. Luckily, both happened to never show up! I got my makeup done by Vicky. She is so sweet and listens to exactly what you want done. I also liked her recommendations when I asked and my makeup turned out to be amazing!! I completely forgot to take a photo of my face beat. It took about 45 minutes or so to get everything done. She takes her time on making sure you look flawless. It would have taken less time if there were more staff on the floor to help out customers that were needing assistance, but I understand it's business. You pretty much tell them how much makeup you want- light, regular, or full coverage. I normally don't cake on my face with makeup, but since I wanted the makeup to last all night long, I made sure to have full coverage. I've never EVER done glitter eyeshadow and I've always wanted it, so I figured why not?! Vicky did an amazing job from the suggestions with how to match the colors with my dress to blending, adding extra glitter to my waterline, etc. I'd probably come back again for the next wedding in December and request for Vicky. I had my first professional makeup experience yesterday & i have nothing but nice things to say about the people here! Amanda was my makeup technician & she showed up right on time for our appointment. I gave her a basic idea of what i wanted and gave her the freedom to get creative in the color palette i provided. The appointment ran about 45 minutes and was enjoyable throughout! I had fake eyelashes put in for the first time as well and Amanda made a very good choice in picking eyelashes for me that would be dramatic but not overwhelming. She was very friendly and informative. I will definitely be back in the future! PS: I had my makeup done at 530pm, celebrated my birthday party all night long and when it came time to remove my makeup at 5am, it was sad to take it off because it still looked sooo stunning. Knocking it down one star for declining customer service. Love the products, but I am strating to believe that MAC trains their SA's to be rude much of the time. The ladies who work here are super sweet. But there is a guy (or two?) who are just snooty/catty as heck and get really annoyed if you ask them to get something for you. Which I totally don't understand because it's not like I need extra help other than for them to pull the items I already know I need to get and then ring me up and send me on my way. They just want to hang out and not be bothered I guess. I think MAC has some sort of ploy to chase customers away with rude salespeople. Made an appointment at Mac in Oakridge Mall to have my makeup done for a Christmas party. I arrived to my appointment 30 minutes early because I was so excited. I was greeted with a smile by Tracy. Tracy stated she would be the one doing my makeup and immediately took me over to get started. I showed Tracy my inspirational look, cut crease and she agreed it was perfect for what I was wearing. Tracy was meticulous and professional throughout the entire process. Intermittently other associates would come over and compliment Tracy work while in progress, which was so impressive to see, it also excited me to see the final product. I loved the final reveal. I shopped here back in May for the new juicy fruity collection. I purchased everything they had left. Being a loyal Mac customer I didn't even swatch anything that purchased. When I got home I found the formulation of this collection was not to my liking. Mind you I'm a MUA and a DM for another cosmetic company so I am familiar with retail processes when customers are not happy with product. I rarely ever return but in this case I was not happy at all. I purchased my items 5/19 and I went into the location 6/21 to return my items. I went up to counter and handed the sales associate my return. She looked over the receipt and started processing the return. Soon after she stopped, circled the customer service number and told me there's nothing can she do for me because it's past 30 days and I need to call customer service. I asked if I could exchange it, she stated no you have to call customer service. WHAT!?! they did not tell me at the time of purchase that they were so strict!! And not even an exchange!?! I know retail and I know there are exceptions! I called customer service and they told me the store could have processed it for me, but they can help me. They asked me to read all kinds of codes on the box and cases of each item and they will send me a label to send the products back only then I'll get my refund! WHAT!?!? This is absolutely ridiculous! I will never shop at a Mac boutique again! If I absolutely need there products I will shop at Nordstrom. Ridiculous!! Mac you will loose tons of customers conducting returns and exchanges in this manner! Good luck! read more

There's nobody like Tracy! She is THE MOST WELCOMING FRIENDLIEST SWEETEST ever. I've been using MAC cosmetics since 2002. I've encountered so many amazing helpful MAC employees but Tracy has treated myself and other customers like they are red carpet stars from the start, every time you walk in to the store. Tracy immediately smiles and asks me what I need (she knows exactly what products I use by its each exact number ) I always look forward to seeing her, she describes products so I know what I'm buying but doesn't push me into anything. I did 4 Back to MAC's and though I didn't buy anything, I didn't feel pressured and wasn't given attitude for only wanting to recycle the old products for new ones. Sandra showed me all the new products and it was great to swatch, and see all the new goodies as I am normally an online shopper. They were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I love coming to this location. When I need to update my makeup kits. The people here are so kind and generous. They tell me whats in and are patient with me. They dont rush me at all. I took in some lipsticks to recycle and apparently it was a xmas kit so i needed to bring all the kit in order for it to count as one, and they were nice enough to still validate it. Honestly, if I knew of a Mac within a Macy's that had better customer service..then I would probably go there 100% of the time. But unfortunately, I don't. So I've been sticking to this one. A lot of the reviews on here are pretty much the truth when it comes to the sales department here. They are usually busy quite a bit of time but that shouldn't equate having rude, pretentious attitudes that is the general attitude of this collective team. I've come across people who work here who are also (what seems like) to be absolutely sweet as well. They helped to the best of their knowledge and gave honest feedback. Well, the artists were standing around without a clients in sight and the one person who'd make eye contact with me looked at THE Clipboard and asked me to come back in 45 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps they were expecting a huge party to come in or something and wandered about the mall to kill some time. Upon my return, the same girl who'd asked me to come back checked with the counter manager about starting on me and he said "her appointment is at 12:30" without even looking up. My make up artist canceled last minute and i had a photoshoot. I called Mac on Tuesday July 2nd , and asked if they accepted walk in make up appointments. I spoke with Tracy and she told yes. Explained to me the process because i had never gotten my make up done there before. Before i hung up she asked my name and i came in an hour later she addressed me by name as soon as i walked in. She was working by herself because her colleague was on lunch. She was GREAT at multitasking. She asked me great questions to know what kind of look i was going for. She matched my foundation without even TRYING and it was the PERFECT match. Overall her customer service was AMAZING . The make up Tracy did was FLAWLESS. it made me SO much more confident. I expressed to Tracy that i always get flash back and that was my biggest concern because this was my first photoshoot. I really love MAC products but I hate the service. It is such a pain to walk in and stand around and wait for someone to help you. I have never had a good experience at MAC. The final straw was when I went in with my mother and she needed help getting a complete set of new makeup. She wanted to get her makeup done and have someone pick out her products and explain how she should apply it. We got someone to help us but in order for him to do her makeup she had to verbally agree to purchase at least $40 worth of products!! We were so disgusted we left!
