I love Bath & Body Works as a whole, but I've never reviewed one before because it's always been pretty straight forward, never had a problem, nor anything too exceptional, so I'd probably settle for four-stars on a regular basis. Obviously you're going to be overpowered with many smells, strong fragrances, and have the lingering spray of many perfumes. It simply can't be avoided and I knew a small amount of people who either won't go into a store, or can only go in very briefly. So, let me get to what made this location so exceptional. I don't normally enjoy being approached by staff- I much prefer looking around on my own, testing the samples and quietly making my way to the register. I used some sanitizer at the station on my way in and was immediately greeted by an associate asking if I'd like a bag. I had to think, I'm only there for car scent replacements, and I absolutely will buy more with a bag. Ah- what the hell, I'm down to one extra hand soap, and I can always use more sanitizer. I take the bag and instead of the usual "is there anything I can help you find today?" I get "What are your favorite scents?" I kind of jump at this, because I was totally ready to say "no thanks" and instead I get to roll into my excited, "Oh, I love this and that. Floral and fruity are my things" and she's quick to point out a few, even spray a few that don't have the little tester label on them and promise to keep an eye out for anything I might like. It was way less awkward than I usually feel and she did stop me later to ask if I liked their stress-relief stuff, because they found one last lotion for the 75% off display. Thanks for the first dips, but I'm not typically in the market for lotion. So, shout-out to Jess for giving this location that fifth star. I definitely went home with more than I had anticipated, BUT she was sure to point out the sale stuff, so the items she had me walking away with (including a lovely coconut-pineapple spray) were only about $3. I have shopped at this store for many years. I understand that it is the holiday season so EVERY store is busy. The last thing a customer wants to deal with is rude customer service. Sure, some may argue that during this busy time of year, customers should give sales associates a break since they have to deal with rude customers, long hours and get paid a low wage. I don't care! I've been in both positions having worked seasonally in retail myself. You need a job, you accept the wage and yep, you deal with the long hours and lines. I question the manager's judgment in who they hire, especially with my experience today. My friend and I walked up to the register and the attitude of this young man was so robotic! If I closed my eyes and listened, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was a robot or some monotoned automated recording. To make this shopping experience even more magical, I bought two full-size body care products and didn't realize they still had a buy two and get a third for free offer. The Associate mentions that I can choose a third item. As I walked off to grab a lotion and he says, "make it quick because the line is long." Really?! Maybe he didn't realize that I just stood in that damn long lined myself?! And, only to be greeted by some rude sales associate!! I responded and told him, "isn't that why they hired all these extra sales associates... to deal with the long holiday lines and sales?" Of course he didn't have anything else to say other than, "have a nice day." I told him "good luck you're going to need it!" I know it's a stressful time of year for everyone in this experience, but the art of great customer service is lacking nowadays! Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2017 Bath and Body Works has a good selection of soaps, lotions, candles, bath products. Came here today in search of foaming hand soap for our bathrooms and kitchen sink. I was disappointed in their selection of soaps. Most of the foaming soaps were too strong smelling. The only ones that were decent were the kitchen lemon and warm vanilla sugar. I've purchased the lemon olive soap and olive oil lotion due and it wasn't as nice as say Williams Sonoma soap and lotion duos. The good thing is the soaps were on sale 6 for $24.00 I was able to purchase 12 foaming hand soaps, some anti-bacterial mini hand sanitizers- the awesome thing is they now have unscented, some wall flower plug ins and vanilla bean and bourbon salted caramel car scents. Currently, they have released numerous new scents in their candle/home fragrance line but these were too strong and not in a good way Customer service is decent- not great or super terrible. Always look for coupons on www.retailmenot.com - that's how I scored the 20% coupon or sign up to get their emails on sales and specials. This location is close to home. The worker here are very nice and friendly. They get really busy when they have a big sale going on. I absolutely love this location but I'm always so scared to go in because I know I would go crazy with their holiday sales. It just so happened that my family and I came to the mall recently and my mother had to come here to try to find a body spray that she had purchased a few months ago. Turns out it was a summer scent so it was not available but the woman who helped her was really nice and helped her find a couple other scents that were reminiscent of the one she was looking for. She ended up taking advantage of the Buy three get one free deal and also bought another lotion even after that. There was always an employee walking around asking if someone needed help and everything is displayed beautifully. They do have an entrance to the right where you walk in and then it looks like they want you to leave on the left side to help the flow of people coming in and out. The registers are in the far back, so you get to see absolutely every beautiful thing they have before you get there lol I think I will be going back to get more items here, they did have these really adorable little backpack purses that I think my girls would love! read more

I would like to start by stating I spent thousands of dollars with his company annually and While in San Jose visiting family I stopped in to the store to pick up some hand soaps for my coworker. Upon entering the young lady was talking to a friend at the front of the store so I walked right in and picked soap, the young lady proceeded to approach me and stated "hi ma'am did you just walk in?"I stated yes and she stated "we ask that everyone...." and then proceeded to douse my hands with a antibacterial spray. Normally with the climate in the world this would be totally fine but one thing she did not taken into accountability was the sent that she was spraying I am highly Allergic to cucumber and all of its products and the spray that she sprayed on me was a cucumber containing spray, within 5 minutes my arm was getting swollen and bumpy (usually what happens when I coMe in contact with it's cucumber) I ran to the sink and washed as vigorously as possible however the damage was already done. I proceeded to the register and ask a very lovely young lady that was helping me if there was a manager she had stated that she was on break which I did think was a little weird being that they had just opened. I did call the following day asking to speak to a manager I never got a callback, I also called the one 800 number on the receipt and received a mild apology however I'm still truly upset. I want to make sure they know the severity of the actions of doing something like that thank God I am not deathly allergic and I was able to get to a medication to help me in time. I was extremely dizzy with a pounding headache I couldn't even finish shopping I had to go directly home and I live over an hour away. Please watch out for yourself because others won't. read more

A worker named Chelsea greeting at the door made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. She asked us "What did you come back for?" This question was very inappropriate because it's obvious why people go in a store (to purchase items) I feel like she assumed we were stealing when she didn't know anything. This location in particular is one of my favs to stop in because they always have a wide selection of products in stock. Also they are so meticulous in organizing the displays. During their epic sales you would expect lotion to be everywhere getting all the new bottles sticky and dirty. Was definitely pleasantly surprised how clean the bins were. On my most recent visit we found everything we needed thanks to Angela! She is such a sweetheart and so knowable about the products. She is now my go to recommendations! She gave me lots of tips and tricks. My recommendation is to definitely stop by and check this place out. Came here today to check out all of the stuff on sale after the holidays. This place was 1) super crowded, and 2) extremely messy! They had bins of all of the stuff that was on sale/clearance, and all of the products were sticky or dirty or gross in some form. They had some tables that had only been half stocked with products which made the store look oddly empty. I was there mostly to check out the candle selection and was surprised that their candle section was designated to a small corner of the store. I was unable to find my favorite candle in the 3-wick size so I unfortunately had to buy it in the mini candle version =/ 2 stars for having lots of sales associates working the post-holiday rush and being helpful to me when I had asked them some questions. I'm always tempted to buy something cause there's always new products/designs like every month :( Well I walked in here with my friend today cause candles were on sale 2 for $24 -- I swear the price went up cause it use to be 2 for $20, but whatever, I think one candle is like $25, which is totally not worth it! Had a really great time at this shop today! Tabatha helped identify the nice scent they were pumping through the store, and the cashier and another associate (manager?) there were really cheery and made our experience there nice and seamless! After purchasing my partner & I kept looking around and got some more things, and often walked back to front to back looking for items. The associates didn't make us feel watched or scoped out which I think our behavior could have definitely warranted. Experience today made me much more likely to come back. read more

I will say that I am extremely sensitive to scents, so most of what they carry I can't use. however, if you don't like strong scents (or are sensitive), try the warm sugar... very mild. I love the hand soap with the little scrubby bits in it. something about it just makes me feel extra clean. my daughter goes nuts for the mini hand sanitizers and lip glosses. they have some cute covers for the sanitizers... it's a girl thing. and hey, if it's helping want to stay germ-free, i'm good with it! read more

If I could give a zero I would. My husband and I went in for the sale of $4.95 off body items. Great! However the entire store was mislabeled. There was a huge sign that said $4.95 and all along side of it was box gift items that cost $30-$40. Ok fine. Then along the walls was $15gift right next to it and above the gift bags with body products in it for $35 as orginal price. What had got me the most upset was when I requested for a manager, and someone name Vanessa came by and the whole time she had a smirk on her face as if I was being made fun. I did ask for them to honor the price that they were advertising since its it was not my fault it was mislabeled. Even the staff at the counter said "well she isn't going to do anything".. they asked for her over the walkie talkies and the lady who was checking me out said "Vanessa we got another one" Clearly, this was already an issue before and nothing was done to correct it. And when the counter employee called on the MOD Vanessa if was if it was a game. And they were just making fun of me.. because when I requested them to put the signs properly so it does not confused customer or just take it down since it's a problem and wastes the cx time the responseI got from Vanessa "yeah, sure" as if she was just brushing me off. It was like it was a game. Then I requested for the actual store manager name and she refused to give it. She was completely rude and didn't care at all about the cx. The sales people are phenomenal at what they do! They greeted us and asked if they could help us find anything. We gave the standard "We're just browsing" response and they quickly followed up with "Well, today's a great day for browsing, because we have so many specials that are ending today!" They know they've got suckers when they see them! So we took a few more steps inside the store, and started to smell some of the bubble baths and hand soaps, and then we were offered a bag to help us carry those potential purchases! By the time we made it to the cashier, no less than three different sales people asked if they could be of assistance. Always politely. I thought that this one thing was funny but then thought about how it was not cool to basically talk shit about a customer infant of a line of customers. i get it, I really do. Some people can be real pain in the ass, but like go and talk shit in the back on your break time. I got a good laugh but then people kind of looked at the worker and said negative comments about her. I think she did an awesome job helping the lady but the customer was just annoying...like really..everything is on sale, you can't get mad just because you want it dirt cheap. They greet you as soon as you enter, they offer you help and back off when you say no, but always nearby when you change your mind. Then when you do ask for help, they take you exactly where you can find the scent that you're looking for. Of course, they always plug-in the current sale at every step of the way. Great for giving gifts or shopping for yourself. I enjoy the coupons that I get and of course the variety of scents. Some of the scents are overbearing but for the most part are quite pleasant! The staff working are always helpful and never irritating to make you try a scent that you don't even want to smell. The prices are very reasonable and it's always better to stock up as sometimes the scents get discontinued or they are only sold seasonally. " So I asked an employee which are considered for sale because I thought maybe there was a section somewhere with all of them to look through... NOPE. I love the fact that they have test products, so that gives me a chance to sample them before I make a purchase. When the products are on sale, you'll get a real deal! This place is AHMAZINGGGGGGG except for 2 very important things. Let me state the pros... PROS- -they have A LOT of products to look at, compared to other bath and body works places. -Helpful staff members with giant hearts and smiles -If a product runs out, they always restock it within minutes. CONS- -there was a lady working the register a few days ago (idk her name), but I had a 10 off 40 coupon and printed it out and gave it to her, but she kept on refusing to use it, claiming the barcode wouldn't scan. I kindly asked her to punch in the numbers near the barcode instead, but she kept refusing, until another cashier came along and did it for us. -Sometimes I feel as though the staff can be a bit too nosey and are constantly asking if you need help or recommending products not even related to my purchase. - I came back to this location maybe 50 minutes after my first purchase because I decided to buy this peach body mist I saw on my way out, and I walked up to the register and - yay me!!!!! - The same lady who rejected my coupon was my cashier again! This lady spent almost 5 minutes gossiping with the other cashier working, and kept telling me, "I'll be with you in 5 minutes." I spent almost 10 minutes just waiting, until the lady came and finally did her job. Just as I was putting my stuff in the bag, this lady gave me a dirty look and whispered something to the other cashier, and they started chuckling. I took my stuff and left. Overall MOST of the staff is extremely polite, especially Angela, and the products sold are always amazing and smell wonderful! The one major reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because that cashier I had made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and she made me waste 10 minutes standing in line, while I had to wait for her gossip session to end. The one in Valley Fair is much better when it comes to customer service, and Valley Fair has all the products as well. read more
