BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! My friend and I came here and out of 5 girls working there none ONE of them came up to us to ask if we needed assistance. I was looking for a nude lipstick and I had to ask the girl what she suggested. She showed me a lipstick color then said she was about to go on her break. wow. I would have probably bought more cosmetics if I was offered the CUSTOMER SERVICE but I wasn't so I left. I will not buy from this MAC AGAIN. read more

The worst customer service! I browsed products while i waited patiently for anyone to help. Finally someone noticed i needed help she said she would finish applying makeup with one customer ring her up and then she would help. So i waited for her, she apparently forgot about me because she walked over to her other coworkers who were busy talking to each other instead of helping customers. Well shame on me for trying yet AGAIN. Sadly the same story. I wanted someone to help match me for Studio Fix Powder. Guy just ran a brush across my already made up face and sent me on my way. Got home, looked orange. So I went back early (10:30 am) the next. Store was empty. Girl was coloring on a blank face sheet of paper. She was totally put out when I asked for help. I tried to be nice and funny but she did not take the bait. We went back and forth and then I gave up and left. Went to the Mac counter at Macy's and had the best experience. Better yet, I found my perfect shade. Sadly I had to enter the store again to return my original purchase. Happily, there were no casualties. read more

Headed into this MAC store while shopping at Oakridge today to pick up an eyebrow pencil. As I am looking around for the eyebrow pencils, there are a few people in the store but not many, no one greets you or asks if you need help, I am clearly looking for something. I finally find The eyebrow pencils and start looking at the testers. I do not find the color I'm looking for in a tester, so of course I hunt down a sales consultant to ask if they have the color I'm looking for for purchase anymore as I do not see they have a tester of it. She then looks in the drawer and pulls out a color with a similar name, but not the color I'm looking for. When I Ask "Oh, do you not have this color anymore", she is immediately annoyed as if one word in the name makes a difference and actually it does, they ARE two different colors! Mind you I am a professional, I know what I'm looking for. We find the correct color, I take it to the counter for purchase. I give her my Mac pro card, she continuously swipes my card, then tries to manually type in my number, then proceeds to tell me I'm not in the system! (Clearly, you are holding my card with MY name on it after you've already checked MY ID) I ask her if she needs my phone number if that will make it easier. Ignoring my suggestion, She then asks a coworker why she can't find my number in the system and moved to another cash register. Still unable to find my number, I proceed to tell her I just used my card a few weeks ago in Santa Monica and Roseville and had no problem at either store. She tells me she doesn't know why I am not in the system but she cannot give me my discount if she can't find me. (Again, let me remind you, she clearly had my card in her hand.) At this point it's not about the discount, it's about professionalism, customer service and being respectful. I've been a professional cosmetologist probably longer than this girl has been on the planet. I ask her if there's a number we can call to find out why I am not in the system because clearly she was not going to suggest this. Her response was "yeah probably", "you can call the number on the back of the card." Without any assistance from her, I called the number on the back of the card. Unfortunately they are already closed as they are on East Coast time. I could have easily walked out of the store and gone somewhere else, but I wasn't going to let her make a fool of me as she just told me the customer she just checked out had her Mac pro card and there was "no problem". I proceed to call the Roseville store where they personally know me, because I spend thousands of dollars a year at MAC for my business there. The sales consultant immediately recognizes my name after I tell her who I am and asks how can she help me. I let her know of the current situation and how they are unable to find me in the system and if she would be able to check her system to see if she could find my number. Without any trouble AT ALL, on the first try that she input my number, she says "are you still at such and such address", and I reply "yes". She informs me she's looking right at my account. Now the representative in the store over herd my conversation and asks me to see my card again and proceeds to look for my number with no success. The gal on the phone then asked to speak to the rep in store and tells her she can override the system and give me the correct discount as she has my card in her hand. The girl in store probably already knew this, but was so focused on trying to be right, she missed the opportunity to provide excellent service to a long time client. I guess my rant here is, "was it more important for her to be right and keep your client in store for 30 minutes trying to figure out solution to a problem (myself) instead of just giving the stupid discount on an EYEBROW PENCIL to begin with!" I promise I will NEVER shop that MAC store again and neither should you! The attitudes in this store were shameful to our profession, Corporate needs to give these girls some serious customer service training. read more

Looking at products, no asking if I needed help with anything. I was the only customer in the store, but still no help. They lost a customer today. Gave this store a try again & was so disappointed. I went with my daughter to be her plus 1 to get her free gift & her 25% off. Because she forgot to speak up they didn't give her the free gift & said I had to buy something. The text she received didn't say that. Well my daughter came in with specific item #'s in hand. The girl ran us up & we left. When we got home the girl totally F up & gave us wrong item. We live less than 5 min away. Called on the way back told the girl on phone what happened & please pull correct item & we would be there in 2 min. We had to pay a difference of $4 but because the girl gave us wrong item she would not honor 25% off. Really lady??? So annoyed. Returned everything & went to MAC in Macys & paid full price & got no attitude. This is why we shop at MAC Macy's & sephora. Never an attitude from anybody there. I had originally planned to go to the MAC in Macy's to get my make-up done on 10/13/14. I had previously called to make up appointment but I was told I did not need one during the week. However when I got there I was refused service buy two lazy employees. This was frustrating because I had an appointment to get my maternity photos taken that day. I ended up going to the MAC store where Sergio went above and beyond to help me with my make-up. At first it began another difficult situation, they were short staffed, Sergio was just getting off his shift, there were two people scheduled but they were busy and they said they could help me but it would take a while because if another client needs help they have to stop and help in-between trying to do my makeup. I explained I had to be at the picture people at 7 and by this time it was past 6pm, he said I should try the Macy's MAC counter, and then I explained to him that whole fiasco (you can read the story on their yelp page), my pregnant frustrated self broke down in tears, Sergio went to go talk to the manager for me, and he ended up staying late to help me with my make-up. I am so grateful to him for this, he saved the day. My make-up looked great and pictures came out awesome. I will never go back to the MAC Macy's counter! read more

I had a large return of several pieces. I came in with my receipt and everything in their boxs. I had only used the items once due to them not being my favorites. I usually buy all of my lip colors and liners from Mac. Alissa was at the counter when I had arrived. She was very pleasant with a smile on her face and had a warm presence. She made my return very smooth and also up sold me on more product. She was vey good at that as well. I told her I use Myth and Yash as my current lip colors and she had suggested other everyday wear colors. Another customer had arrived and she was very polite with multitasking us two. Meanwhile she introduced me to Britney which was also very plesant to work with. Britney let me try on a few colors... We began talking about hair because I had commented on pretty hers was. I told her I'm looking for a hairstylist. She recommended her lady which is very good. She was so helpful she even gave me her number to check out. Alissa and Brittany were honestly amazing. The two of those girls did a phenomenal job and will keep me coming back to buy. Thank you girls read more

This MAC store has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I came in on Thursday evening. There was a lady on the floor helping another client and she was nice enough to come over and tell me that I should come back in 10 minutes. There was a lady behind the counter, not doing ANYTHING but did not bother to come over. Later found out that she is the Store Manager (J as she introduced herself and Janaisse as the other lady told me her name was). God Help this store if the store manager is so unprofessional. I come in 10 min later. The lady I had talked to was helping other customers at the checkout line. 'J' again decides to ignore me as I am sitting on the chair, spends 5 min at the counter, goes inside to get a big trash bag. And I am still sitting there. The other lady then motions me that 'J' should be helping me, so I call out. 'J' then drops the trash bag in the middle of the aisle, comes over to me and I said I am interested in Gel Eyeliner. She says 'what about it?'. And I say 'Well, can you apply and show me?'. She says 'Yes but you need to know that you don't get it right away. It is going to take you a long time'. Yes, I get that but the way she said it sounded like she didn't even wanted to be bothered to show. Then she goes off to find a sample and then just goes off to help another customer that walks in. I wait for another 5 min. while 'J' is now picking out different lipstick colors for the other customer, very matter of factly forgetting that she was supposed to help me. When I get up and walk away, she says 'I needed to help this other customer. I didn't know you had been waiting'. SURPRISE! If you knew the first thing about customer service and actually cared about helping your customers, you would have known. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!! read more

Hello Yelpers, First of all, this is my first yelp review and I never wrote a review ever in my life. I initially went to MAC to return products that did not match my face at all. So disappointing....However, the coolest, awesome, funny, down to earth, rock star chick changed my life. Seriously. I know it sounds crazy because we are talking about someone who applied make up on me. But the way how she took her time and her willingness and engagement was on point. She was just on point all around. Right when I got home, I told all my roommates about her. She is just so awesome. She positively impacted my life. I've been using MAC for the past 8 years and she introduced me to this unknown color "Studio Fix Fluid C4.5". WTH, right!? The fact how she showed me this color that perfectly matches my skin and also finished it up with eyeshadows definitely is the best customer service I ever had in a MAC store. Honestly, she TOPS all MAC associate that helped me over the years. Sadly, she only works whenever she is not working at her Hair Salon so I suggest you follow her on INSTA (MichelleAzizi) because she has her number on her page lol. She showed me great techniques, but honestly I forgot half of what she said. The only thing I remember is her awesomeness, apples, and B-A-N-A-N-A-S, ZZZzzzzss, powered on your lips, and rock n roll (if you only understood what I was talking about). Soooooooo I've been here quiet a few times as I am a bit of a makeup addict. I usually do my makeup myself but was feeling like having someone else do it for a change. I booked my appointment for Tuesday morning and showed up promptly at 11... Sadly I will say that it did take a bit for my appointment to start as they were a bit under staffed and my makeup artist (Kristi) was doing her best to help everyone out... Honestly though she was 100 worth the wait just be prepared when making an appointment that the artists do help other guests while working on you when they are short handed. For me this honestly wasn't a big deal because I was just going for fun but perhaps something to think about. Anywho Kristi was phenomenal she was both knowledgable about products as well as professional, friendly, and talented. It should be a given but I have seen some real doozies coming from some Mac Muas but Kristi is legit! I'd say if you are in need of any kind of makeup help wether to just get color matched, pick up product, or have your makeup done Kristi is the go to gal.... Service is horrible, they pawn you off to someone else like the "manager" because they don't have access to do that, and then as I'm waiting and waiting and waiting, I finally ask the first girl if the manager is coming and she went and spoke to the manager and they were chatting about some things and then as the manager starts to walk up to me, she is putting her brushes away and the makeup she was using on someone and looks at me and says I'll be right with you, as she is still putting her stuff away. I don't know, call me crazy, but when you have a customer waiting for you, can you put those things away AFTER you help the CUSTOMER!? So normally I don't go into MAC but I when in today because I wanted to check out their new liquid lip. I have the most pleasant experience. I don't normally turn to go into Mac because I am a little intimidated by the experiences have had in the past. But today was different a nice lady and man we're working greeted me right when I came in helped me with several different things made me feel so welcomed she was an Asian girl with blu liner. I've finally decided to write a review about this makeup counter because they broke the last straw with me! I set up an appointment to get my make up done and was highly disappointed with the results. I was pretty open to letting the girl decide how to do my makeup based on the colors I was wearing for the night (black and gold). She ended up putting white and brown on my eyelids which wasn't ugly but didn't exactly match everything else I was wearing. I also told her I wanted full coverage foundation. She barely put foundation and decided more blush would look better. I looked like a clown! By the middle of my night out my eyeshadow creased so I had to completely wipe it off and my foundation didn't stay on either because she didn't use any finishing spray. All in all she did a half assed job doing my makeup. She also kept leaving without telling me that she would be right back to help other customers so that got pretty frustrating too. And if you're on a time crunch don't come here! The girl was 15 min late to show up and do my makeup and with her constant walking away while doing my makeup she took about an hour to do her 10 min worth of work. Her name is Lizette so avoid her if going to get your make up done. Other problems I've also encountered at this location include them double booking my appointment that was set weeks in advance and then having me wait 30 min only to get fed up and forced to find a place to do my makeup last minute. They also didn't match my foundation to the right color. So many problems with this counter! I would suggest the actual MAC store inside the mall instead of macys location. They are unprofessional, rude, and need to go to more makeup tutorials. read more

Terrible service.Well, I had come into this store to exchange a lipstick I had purchased an hour before at the mac counter in the macys at Newpark mall. As my mom and I were heading back home I opened up the lipstick to try it out and it had this nasty, gross smell to it. Most of you guys are familiar with the sweet vanilla scent of MAc lipsticks but this smelled like expired, stale, stank lipstick. It was grosss. So, natually I still put it on lol! I could smell it as I was wearing it the whole ride back to San Jose. So, I told my mom (it was a gift from her) to stop at this location before heading home so that I could exchange since I knew I'd have an issue with a lipstick down the line ( the shelf life, smell etc) We get there and I head straight to the counter, and mom is looking around elsewhere. I'm standing by the register looking around I swear there were at least 4 sales associates. 2 were huddled one was with customer and then one was doing his eyeliner over and over lol while I waited and he finally turned around and approached me. I told him about the lipstick exchange and what was wrong. Of course, you could tell he was annoyed by it lol. He takes it of the box and quickly exclaims super loud THIS IS FAKE! I was like omg no wonder it smells of and I was just standing there like in shock trying to piece together how a fake product would end up in my hands. The sales associate is standing there examining it and its like oooookay well now what lol. He starts mentioning how he can't do anything unless his manager is there. I have exhanged and returned things before with no need of a manager ever (but plenty of attitude ofcourse lol) and he said theyve had issues with fake ones before but they way he was saying everything , with his attitude was like implying I purposely brought a fake item to exchange. His acne scarred coworker comes butting in (didnt like her sorry) and asking where I bought it and not believing what I am telling her lolI Anyway they start speaking in Spanish to each other in regard to the issue as if im not there or I don't understand ( idk I look super bean lol) right as my mom comes to meet me and talking to me in Spanish and theyre faces get all stern lol. anyway I finally ask for a store credit since they were being so difficult about it. I start explaining whats going on to my mom and the dude starts backtracking about his claims of it being a fake oh okay buddy anyway! They suck, they're rude, and pretentious! Amanda is the absolute best! She's always really friendly and helpful, not to mention that she does an amazing job. My makeup has never looked better than when she does it for me. She also does a really good job explaining what she's doing so you can recreate the look later. I've had great experiences there and will definitely be going back in the future. read more

SO, I bought my first pair of lashes this past week because I have a wedding to attend this weekend (and just to add, I've been wanting to try them anyways :) so, I went to Macy's picked up some cute lashes, and for the life of me I could not get it right. I had only used the right lash and so I came down to the MAC store inside of Oakridge and I asked for help, I showed her my brand new packaged and that I hadn't even touched the left side, and she"had to check with management" because it wasn't "sanitary," WTH! are you serious!!! I FRKN just bought a pair of MAC lashes, and I'm asking a MAC girl for help! It's not like I took a pair of target lashes and asked for help... Are you serious! This review is for Krystal, I went in a with a friend so she could find some blush, we were approached by Krystal who was super friendly and full of smiles, she was showing my friend some blushes and did such an amazing job on finding her the prefect everyday blush, I asked her to color match me for foundation, she then educated me on my skin and the products I should use for a flawless finish, and OMG my skin looks amazing!!! she even showed me how to properly apply them and what brushes to use, I have gone to other Mac locations but but far this is the best service I have ever had and with someone super knowledgeable and willing to educate others so we don't look a Hot mess in public, this will be my go to MAC from now on. I went into Mac only to buy a lipstick because I dont really use much makeup and to be honest don't know how to use it but a couple days ago I had this really sweet mac girl named Kristi help me out she gave me great tips on foundation and concealer which I bought that day she even gave a little demo on how to apply it. My rating of Mac Makeup would be a zero in customer service and products .I explained to girl at counter that I have sensitive skin , she assured me that make up is hypoallergenic. She also assured me if i had any problems I could return product hassle free . I live in Florida but purchased make up in store in NY while i was up north visiting , Mac salesperson said anywhere nationwide it can be returned if any problems .I tried makeup and my face broke out , I wound up having to go to dermatologist and went to bring makeup back to store the same week it was purchased well within my 30 day return time frame , At store in Florida the rep told me they were not a stand alone store so she could not return items . I called customer service and got a run around and no calls back after providing my receipt and photos of product . After numerous calls I spoke to customer care rep who was supposed to look at info and get back with me , after over a week of no response I called back and got a" oh sorry we forgot to get back with you" , then customer care coordinator then customer care supervisor , . After over an hour of aggravation on phone and customer service rep speaking over me and being very rude still no resolution ,I have to mail them make up and in 5 weeks I will get a check back ...ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . read more

I don't usually post on here but I was so upset I have to. 12/6/15 I went to the Oakridge MAC store and waited close to 20 minutes for a foundation match. I had to step out and when I came back I asked one of the girls if there was anyone available yet. So she went and asked the other if she had time to take me. The girl she asked turned around and said she was with another customer that I had to wait and be patient. It wasn't what she said it was how she said it. She was so unbelievably rude and disrespectful scolding me in front of all their clients. I was so upset I left, I will never ever be back there again. I love MAC makeup and have worn it for so long now. Most often i just go to Nordstrom and get it. But every now and then I stop in the store. The customer service sucks, at best. I speak pretty clearly and the girl asked me what I needed and she gave me something completly different. To my dismay, I did not notice till I got home. Then I had to go and exchange it for the proper product. They acted like it was my fault and finally the manager agreed to exchange it. What a hassle. Now i just order online or just stop into Nordstrom. Oh and if you have makeup questions, ask a male worker. The woman try to make you look like street walkers. read more

This MAC store usually has the same level of customer service I receive at any other store, but my most recent visit infuriated me. I went with my sister to return a few products she tried out and didn't like (she has dry, enflamed skin) and the foundations just did not sit well on her face and looked cakey. Anyways, when we pulled out the items to return and the cashier asked why and she told the cashier that it made her face look cakey, the cashier actually had the audacity to sass her back saying the foundations are lightweight and there's no reason for it to be cakey unless she was applying it with her fingers. I know more about makeup so I explained to her that my sister uses a dense flat top kabuki brush to apply it and the cashier argued back and said no, I see on the receipt that she got the synthetic brush and that applies foundation lightly. I had to explain to her AGAIN that my sister uses a DENSE flat top kabuki, and she still did not understand what I was saying apparently. She finally processed the return and without looking at us, handed my sister the receipt and I had to say thank you, have a good night because she didn't even acknowledge us. Frankly, she had a shit attitude, I don't even know why she works at a job that requires you to provide good customer service to your customers. read more
