This is me devouring my PubFare burger

I am not a big burger girl but these looked so good I had to try and I was not disappointed, it was the most delicious burger I have ever eaten. The special sauce was indeed special, there was a pickle and so much gooey cheese, I ate the whole thing with ease. I will follow them. Westbrook brewing is where I found them.

The most elusive burgers in town. Known to set up shop at local breweries or beer shops. Low tide brewery, The Brew cellar, Westbrook, etc. More expensive than a typical burger, but pretty standard pricing for a food truck. And it is a double patty. FYI: When they're very busy there's no substitutions. However I would say that the standard Burger is similar in style to In-N-Out double double animal style. The burger does come with some kettle chips. Definitely worth tracking them down and trying. It can get busy and generally the wait is 15 mins... So grab a beer. Cheers!

Disclaimer: This is a pop up food stand so you have to track them down to find these life changing burger patties. I had been hearing the Pub Fare hype for a few months before I finally made a point to be where they were at the right time. I love the classic style of a burger with a couple thin patties and melty american cheese. The keep it simple with pickles, onions, and a layer of special sauce on a Martin's potato bun. The ratios are perfect and a double patty will do the job although I would definitely consider the triple or even just two burgers at the same time. You'll typically find them hanging around breweries and beer bars around town. Check their social media for an up to date schedule on any given day. When I say it's worth it to track down pub far wherever they may be, I mean like right now! Go find them and enjoy one of the best burgers you'll ever have the pleasure of stuffing your face with. I happened to lock one of these double patties down at the Brew Cellar in Park Circle. I arrived early knowing they attract a crowd and was second to place an order. Other than a vegetarian avocado sandwich option, they legitimately only serve burgers. There's no substitutions other than how many patties you want on there. Like a machine they pump out burgers off a flat top grill and get them in the hands of customers as quick as possible. By the time I had my burger (and chips) they probably had close to twenty orders behind me. Don't be the one at the end of the line who misses their chance.

Pubfare has a streamline process and it so wins. It's a delicious gooey cheesey oniony burger. I get them at Lowtide where they come about every other Tuesday and they draw a crowd of groupies. I can see why. SO yummy.

This is a pop up so check their social media to see where they're going to be and get there early! We tried them at Westbrook and I think they're there every week. Super simple, no substitutions, no extras, just really good smash burgers. They're ready in just a couple of minutes!

PubFare isn't exactly your stereotypical restaurant or dining experience--it is a pop-up vendor that jumps from location to location each day. They post where they'll be cooking on their socials, so check those out if you want to hunt them down! When visiting Charleston, the local hype surrounding PubFare was crazy! Everyone kept telling us that this is the best burger you can find in the area and it's a local favorite that you wouldn't find online. When we went, PubFare was located at Westbrook Brewing for lunch on a Friday. The line was extremely long (about 30-50 people deep) and it took about 50 minutes to get to the front. PubFare is a very specialized and 'what you see is what you get' type of food. They offer 1 menu item, 1 way, and at 1 price - this is the gold standard for the 'KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID' principle. After getting to the front, we ordered 2 standard burger meals that they offered. The total price was around $23, and included 2 burgers with 2 bags of chips, which is a bit expensive for what you're getting (part of the reason why we took off a star). The burger itself was DELICIOUS and was a gold standard for a 'Smash Burger'. It's messy, cheesy, flavorful and just a great classic burger overall. It comes with cheese, 2 patties, onions, pickles, and their special sauce. Definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to grab a quick bite to eat and maybe socialize with some friends!

In the running for best burgers in the Charleston area for sure. These guys keep it simple - two patties (you can pay for more), pickles, onions, special sauce, potato roll. That's it. Perfection. I've been stalking these folks on social media for weeks and finally found my opportunity when they came a few miles away from my home. Pub Fare is a pop-up, so every week they go to a variety of locations. Easiest thing to do is to follow them on social media. They post their locations for the week during the Sunday/Monday timeframe. When I went, I ate about 1.5 sandwiches. Yes that's right, I went back for seconds. I couldn't help myself. For $10 a double, the price is right with these burgers as well. I'll be back and you should look these guys up, find out where the pop-up is going to be, and make the trek.

I'm amazed by this burger and left with wanting more. Saw they were going to be at a brewery and have been drooling over their pictures for awhile so when it worked out to check them out one night, we couldn't pass it up. What an awesome concept, a pop up burger stand. I don't know what they do that makes this burger so damn good, but I hope I continue to see them around. If you're thinking you just want a snack and decide to share, do not do it. Matt and I did, and we regretted it immediately. We are still scoping it out to find where and when we can get our next one.

If you ever see them pop up at a brewery or other business, I highly recommend you give them a try. I love their version of a cheeseburger: double patty, gooey cheese, onion and pickle, on a soft bun. No need for lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, or ketchup. Heaven.

They came to Westbrook Brewing which is near us so we went there just for the food (beer is great too).

Roti Rolls has become such a market staple over the years. I ordered the Mother Clucker and it was delicious as ever. I was surprised they weren't this time. Thankfully, it tasted as good as always so please support them as I want this staple to stay! Notes for consuming, it gets JUICY! Always pick up extra napkins and hold carefully so you don't spill in yourself which I manage to do every time. Also try the creole mac n cheese! It was devilishly creamy and cheesy. It will not disappoint. Despite being a hot muggy day Roti Rolls delivered quality product and was the perfect meal to enjoy in the grass and listen to the live music.

My daughter suggested we head to Starland Yard to celebrate her graduation from college. Starland is a neat spot with several stationary restaurants and a few food trucks that roll in...different ones every day. We chose the Naked Dog. Man...it was really worth it. For some, a $12 hot dog might seem steep. It was a gourmet dog and It came with fries, so I thought that was fair. My dog was perfect. Fresh bread...incredible toppings and ample portions. The fries on the side were seasoned very well also. It was a great hot dog meal. During the COVID-19 quarantine we have had several local food trucks from the area rotate for lunch/dinner during the week. I am so sad I only made it to The Naked Dog once before I moved back north. I am a hot dog lover, so imagine my difficulty in not ordering every variation from the menu! My husband and I decided on a few to split (not knowing their size): a classic Naked dog with classic toppings (ketchup, mustard, relish); a slaw dog; a Reuben dog; and a Chicago dog. If I could be speechless in a written Yelp review, I'd leave it at that. The dogs were jumbo sized, toppings were plentiful, tasty and temperature just right. The slaw dog was my absolute favorite - the cole slaw had the perfect consistency and was simple enough to not overpower the dog itself. The Reuben was a legit sandwich on a burger, pastrami and all. The dressing was perfect. The Chicago was classic and wonderful, complete with the unique green Chicago relish. Last but not least, smoothies! What better pair than a smoothie and a dog? We tried peach and strawberry. They were fruity, had chunks of real fruit and were not overly sweet. Just amazing! Y'all, please go have a hotdog or three on my behalf until I'm able to return to Savannah again!

PUT SOME SOUTH IN YO MOUF!!!!…read more That's not the slogan for The Peanut Stand but I sure was singing it as I happily peeled off the gravel road surrounding this Manning, SC local business located right on a country road corner intersection. I had a hankering for boiled peanuts so my cousin directed me to this place that I had to write down old school directions for (go down past the church, make a right, another right, then a left and if you see the farm you went too far). This small family business has been around for quite some time and the woman I spoke with was more than happy to tell me about her family's business although she was leery of me taking photos because apparently there was some legal issues going on between family members (yikes). Anyway, what a lovely place! It's literally just a step above a shack but filled with home grown and/or local treats. The boiled peanuts were delicious and at only about $3 for a bag, more than worth the price! If you haven't had boiled peanuts, please add a trip to the South for a bag to your bucket list. Feel free to put it before the trip to the Himalayas and bungee jumping. The store is open seasonally so they won't be open till May but the next time I'm down in Manning, they will be seeing my face for sure! They also have a Facebook page that's updated with store news and special hours so be sure to take a glance and/or call them before you venture out.
