Paid extra for the nice lanes, the chairs are all duct taped together. The lanes were constantly not returning the bowling balls, the waitress came around once every 30 mins. Pay per hour lanes are over priced and shoddy oiling on the lanes. On a good note the roughness variety on their balls was good. The food is good. Kids enjoy the games. But the service in the restaurant is awful, unless you are at one of the "reserved" tables. We went in on a Sunday to eat lunch and watch a football game. The waitress served us our lunch, then immediately brought the bill as soon as we looked like we were close to finishing our food. We stayed for another 2+ hours watching the game and no one checked with us to see if we wanted refills or anything else, while others that were there the whole time watching games get multiple refills without even having to ask. We came here last year and again this year. We really enjoy all of the games this place has to offer but if you're coming to wet your beak or fill your belly, I'm here to pre warn you as a good American; this place takes foreverrrrrrrrr to deliver on your order. This is not me being an impatient patron. We came to bowl, play arcade games, hit some balls... But knew that the food and drinks might be iffy. We got our lane within 5 minutes and flagged a waitress down to place or order because we knew it would take at least 20 minutes. We ordered a pitcher of beer and kid drinks and unfortunately didn't receive them for 35 minutes. At the same time we ordered the beer, we ordered chicken tenders, nachos and cheese fries. Those did not come by the time our hour was over so we cancelled the order of food entirely. Like I said, the games are a blast but don't come with an empty belly because you may very well leave with one. We decided to drive into Jacksonville to sightsee, before realizing there was nothing to do. We stopped in here on our way to the Emerald Isle. We thought it might be fun and similar to Dave and Busters or ESPN Zone. They have bowling, golf ,and Gokarts, which we didn't try. They have a wide variety of games, but not a large amount. I'd say the gaming area is about 1/2 the size of a Dave and Busters. The bar service was awesome, however the gaming floor area was not. We found of the the light gun games had a broken gun. We went the the counter and they did refund us the money for the game. I suggested they put some sort of out of order sign up, but they guy seemed to not really care and they had not over the next 1/2 hour when we left. read more

Family friendly for the most part. You can dine in the snack bar area, by the bar or in the bowling alley areas. Food is average and there are options like hotdogs, burgers and pizza - which kids love and, this place is mostly geared for kids. Think Chuck-E-Cheese done as a restaurant vs a chain. Full bar and great appetizers, plus weekly specials like Taco Tuesdays and Wing It Wednesdays, etc. Their beer battered mushrooms are amazing. Service is slow most of the time so expect to wait - especially during tourist season. Games are pretty expensive - not a great value in that area, but their closest competition is 30 minutes away in Jacksonville [Chuck-E-Cheese]. Because it had a game room and bowling allies, this place can be very loud and nightmarish on the weekends. Mac Daddy's has potential, but really misses the mark. Several of the gaming units in the arcade were broken and many that were functioning were old and dated. Much of the same was true when we headed outside to the go karts. Had the pricing structure been on par with the quality offered - I'd have no problem. But the prices for the activities are NOT on par with what's offered. Everything is kinda overpriced. If you're looking for a fun time, where you get your money's worth, I'd suggest you head elsewhere. read more

We had a rainy vacation day so we visited Mac Daddy's. There is a lot to do. We played a game of bowling and spend about 30 minutes in the arcade. I'm really not one to gripe or complain about food, and I'm not one to send food back to the kitchen to be fixed... and I'm really not one to complain about much but when the food is TERRIBLE and the customer service SUCKS I really feel it's my duty to put a local restaurant on blast! So, tonight we took the family to MacDaddy's for my grandson's Birthday. We were going to eat and bowl one game. We order our food from a wonderful waiter named Andrew... our food came and everyone's food looked amazing!!! I took the first bite of my Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and needless to say it was so salty I COULD NOT eat it!!! I told the waiter that I didn't like it and couldn't eat it and asked if he could just take it off my tab... He apologized and left with my plate of food only to return with the manager.. she proceeds to tell me that she can't take the sandwich off my tab simply because I didn't like it I said it's not just the fact that I don't like it... I can't eat it because it's way to salty.... I told her that I had worked in the restaurant business for a long time and I couldn't imagine not accommodating one of my customers that didn't like what they were served... she said, "I'm sorry but I'm not taking this off of your bill!!!" I turned my back to her as if she didn't even exist to me, and anyone that knows me knows it's probably best that I turned my back to her... waiter came back to the table and apologized a dozen times, he had heard our conversation and agreed with me about customer service and wanting my customers to be happy... he had stated that he had worked in the restaurant business for awhile and he had NEVER had that happen before... he said that he told her that if she wasn't going to take the sandwich off my tab then she was gonna be the one to tell me...with all that being said I take pride in my customer service skills, I always go beyond the call of duty for my customers. Have always went to Mac daddy's for an enjoyable time until last night. Service was just alright - took about 3/4 of our game to be served. They were busy so I understand, but still irritating to wait a while to even put an order in. We ordered multiple pitchers of beers and each one was less filled than the last. When asked nicely if they could just top it off, we were told they could only fill it so high- I'm a bar tender in Raleigh and I would never not fill someone's beer all the way especially when we are paying almost $20 for it. (Guinness also tasted pretty flat) It barely filled 3 glasses so what was the point of even getting a pitcher. We saw multiple signs for paddle boats when we asked our server information she had no idea and never came back to us with any information about it. Bathroom stalls in the women's room had no toilet paper in multiple stalls (we told the server but I don't think they were taken care of). We had to call maintenance 2/3 times because our balls kept getting stuck in the gutters.There used to be benches right next to the area you get your bowling shoes so you could sit and put them on but those have been removed- when we made a comment about them to the staff behind the counter we got very rude and sarcastic remarks about them. read more

We've been to Mac daddy's plenty of times and always had a pretty decent experience. Tonight we sat in the sports grille area for 55 minutes waiting on mediocre food and had an absolutely terrible dining experience. The restaurant was empty besides one other table who was unhappy with their service as well. I work in the food industry and so I understand being short staffed, and things happen, etc., but an hour for some sandwiches and French fries? Pretty outrageous in my opinion. One of the managers (?) noticed my dissatisfaction and had her boss bring us a card for a game of free bowling? Cool gesture but I'm more mad that I paid $30+ for food that was not up to par. You'd think maybe a discount, a 10% off card or something? I knew there was a reason we came here to play arcade games only LOL guess we'll just know better than to waste money buying food here again, when I can stop at Lowe's food and grab a pre packaged sandwich for 1/8 of the price read more

there's some pretty decent entertainment hear the arcade is a nice touch but really it's just a tourist trap. there's a restaurant inside that's about half decent and serves good food. there's also bowling which is the highlight. reservations for birthday parties for kids are available but this is more of a place for people under 14 to blow money on tokens. read more

So, my wife suggested we go to Mac daddy's for some wings, since they used to have the best wings around here. Well, for the first time since she found a bug in her salsa for her quesadilla there (yep, no joke) we went and gave them another run. I ordered hot wings and chips. The chips came out all busted up, as if they were sat on, but that's not the best part. My wings were not tossed in sauce, they looked like they'd been just very lightly poured over with "sauce". I ask the bar maid for a cup of more sauce on the side. She brings me a jar of Texas Pete. Yup. So I ask her if this is what they are using as their buffalo wing sauce, and she gives me a blank stare for a minute, kinda scowls, and says she'll go ask in the kitchen. Well she comes back with a cup of sauce, which looks like straight hot sauce, and tells me it's "their own special concoction" back in the kitchen. She's laughing the whole time she's giving this to me. She goes back in the kitchen after she watched me douse my now cold wings in this "special concoction", and the cook comes out less than a minute later to fill his cup from the drink stand directly in front of us, and with a crooked grin, asks is how's the night going. He chuckles and rolls his "al's diner" looking self back in the kitchen. I'm telling you, this couldn't feel any more like a scene from a B rate movie if it tried. I swear on a stack of bibles I feel like the "special concoction" sauce was a mix of straight up Texas Pete, bum spit, and hepatitis. Being I'm immunized to everything from here to heck and back, I tried the wings, and they tasted like straight Texas Pete. Now I'm not saying that the sauce was tampered with, but with the way we were acted upon, and the taste/quality of the food, my wife and I would recommend that you eat from the dumpster behind subway rather than risk your physical health and metal stability eating here. read more

I waited to write a review until we had gone a few times in case the first time was a fluke. Let's start with the prices...bowling prices are slightly above average, but this is a tourist area so I suspect that is why. Both times we have ordered food, the place was practically empty and we had bowled for almost an hour before we got our food (fries and artichoke dip both times.) The first time we had to go up twice asking just for our sodas. The customer service in the restaurant is awful. The employees spend more time at the bar chatting with each other than anything else. The young kid at the bowling counter is always pretty friendly. There is a good variety of arcade games, but half the time we would swipe our card, it would take money off of it but the game wouldn't start. When I brought this to the attention of the young man at the game counter he told me there was nothing wrong with the games and I wasn't getting a refund (we hadn't even asked for one). Mac Daddy's has good potential, but needs serious staff training and a customer service overhaul. read more

I went to take my kids on one last outing before my son is born and it was an ok experience. Definitely could have been better. Nobody there acknowledges you when you get there or while your there really even when you speak to them to their faces. The only reason I gave them 3 stars vs 2 was because the guy who gave my kids their bowling shoes was very nice. I asked the lady who rang up our game twice to put up the bumper buddies for the kids and she would say ok but once I got to our lane she hadn't done it. This happened twice. (Me being 9 months pregnant I didn't want to keep getting up and down out of my seat, and the intercom wouldn't come on) Then I requested a server right before the intercom stopped working and nobody showed up for 15 min. I had to get my sister to get up and find someone to help us. He was ok at first but once he realized it was time for his shift to be over he took forever to bring the check and left before giving me the to go plate I asked for. I hate to sound like I'm complaining about everything but it was not a good experience this go round. read more

Really disappointed. We planned a fun birthday outing in honor of our dad's birthday for 10 of us. We reserved two lanes in the "boutique bowling" for two hours. We ordered food and drinks 10 minutes after we arrived - ordered all at the same time so we would get out food timely. We never received any of it. After 45 minutes we found the waiter who blamed it on the kitchen - still didn't have drinks. 15 minutes later tried again and it didn't appear that our order had even been started. We got there at 1:00, by 2:15 we were hot (did I forget to mention how hot it is in the boutique bowling area?), hungry, and over it. We took our shoes up to the counter and I asked to speak to the manager. I heard the manager respond over the radio so I know he was aware we were waiting for him. Instead he sent the waiter up to give us our drinks in to go cups "on the house". No thanks - wouldn't take them then and won't be back. This could be such a great place for families to hang out, but the poor management and lack of wait staff will drag it down. read more

I have visited this place a few times and it's good place for fun, I like that the game tickets go onto a card, food's not bad when it's right, and they have tons of TV's which are the only good things about this place. Other than that it seems that they are under staffed, some of the staff there are rude and unaware, my food came out late and wrong this last time which wasn't the first time, the tea is really sweet and don't expect the soda to be even better because sometimes it's flat! I don't like that if Im bowling I have to wait for my server to bring my food and drinks, which can take too long, it's almost better to go to the snack bar for your needs if it is open. Sometimes your server is running around taking everyone else's order and then forgets your food or you try to flag them down and they look right past you. The place would be better if they got it together or stuck with the servers that were great before they let them go! I hate going in to see a server I have established a great relationship with to find they had let her go for some nonsense which seems to be an a thing for them lately. Also the games are a bit pricey, my kids don't get much in return from playing them and to find that you can just buy what you want is kind of unnerving.
