2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback in the lot
    Lou C.

This zero star review goes to Mike Calvert Toyota. I went to the dealership showroom today and hoping to buy a car but I need someone to help me decide. I parked on the side of building and walked to the showroom. I immediately saw Toyota Corolla Hatchback sitting there. I took out my phone and started to take pictures. It's very sporty looking and not convinced that I could drive a young people's car. I went inside and wow there were so many people working in the raised area. My first impression... were they trading stocks? Everyone walking around with a mission. About half dozen of employees walked by me, none of them even gave me an eye contact. Not to mention a simple hello or welcome. I walked outside after using the restroom. I proceeded to the used car lot. Where is everybody? No problem. I can find my way around. I spotted a 2025 hatchback but has a high mileage. I looked around still no one came by. Ok no problem. I'm leaving. They obviously don't want to sell the car to me. Was it because I wore shorts? Because I wore a hat? Ah, maybe because I am Asian and not like other customers in the dealership. As I walked towards my car, I saw 2 black employees chitchatting with each other and completely ignored me. I'm not coming back for sure. And not gonna buy one from Toyota. I went to Nissan up the street and will pick up my car next week. One star goes to a friendly employee who guided me to the restroom.

Today looked chaotic upon driving up, but it must be organized chaos. Came in for an oil change and 99% of my oiil change visits take 2+ hours. Today I learned that Toyota care stops including tire rotation with oil change at some point in a cars life. Dissapointing and also, they dont wash your car. Anyways, a good thing about long waits is you can walk over to Pappasitos's or shop at Cavender's. There is plenty of waiting room space and they do have a soda and coffee machine. You can ask for a loaner car, gas is extra. What iirks me is that when calling to remind me of service needed or something, they call more than once on the same day and still text about service needed when the appointment was made already.

AWFUL!!!! Manager is the biggest narcissist you will ever meet at a dealership! I was on the phone with him for 5 minutes and he was AWFUL! It surprised me that he's even the manager of that place. Literally mocked me and was sarcastic before I even step foot onto the property? He's used to people just nodding and signing the dotted line, not actually negotiating and making a sale. He just wants to act like a little baby when someone treats him like an adult and disagree with him! Lol

Yes Andrew Jovanovic did an amazing job he stayed late just for us to get approved and drive off same day I cannot be more grateful for this place thank you Andrew!

A bad place where I think they only seek to make deals that suit them. I have since June 3 that I bought a tundra 2026 platinum! When we arrived the price they gave us was different from the one they offered online, after so much talking to them they "respected" it we signed everything days later they tell me that the bank did not approve the financing! They asked me to return the vehicle and they promised to return the down payment until today they have not returned anything to me! I have an email where they confirm the return of the Down payment and a written letter! I don't recommend this place at all

The tire they sold being uneven and lumpy

BEWARE OF SHOPPING AT MIKE CALVERT. I went into Mike Calvert to purchase a used 2022 Honda CR-V EX Hybrid, which from the pictures it looked good, but they didn't post the most updated pictures since there was some cosmetic issues with the car in person. I was trying to get a hold of the salesperson trying to assist me, but it was so hard to get some kind of consistent response. I was really hoping to get some kind of constant communication as I was coming from over 300 miles away. Once I got to the lot, I was seen within about 40 minutes past my appointment time. After inspecting the car, it looked like there were several scratches and cosmetic damage to the car than the pictures portrayed. In addition there was a crack on the middle of the windshield, which the carfax mentioned that the windshield was replaced. Only 2 tires were replaced instead of all 4. After the test drive, I mentioned several of these factors and the history of the carfax with it being a rental/fleet vehicle, since I really wanted to work a deal out with all these defects. The first out the door price only budged about $200 and that they were strict on the price being final and all. It was about an hour and a half of just waiting between the salesperson and the manager "talking", to finally talk the price down $1,000, which in all honesty should have been at least $2,000 less with all these cosmetic damages, tires not being replaced, and windshield damage. I had even mentioned if the windshield can be replaced since that's what the carfax had said was done in March, to which I would be told that it would be fixed in service multiple times. Once that was all settled, within finance it took another 2 hours to get everything settled where I really only talked to the finance manager a total of 10 minutes out of the 2 hours waiting as he went in and out of the office. He tried to upsell me things I don't need to get away from the price I originally wanted, and once I rejected everything, the mood of everyone changed to just being sour. Once I got the car, I looked to see that the windshield was not replaced... they instead poorly filled in the chipped portion of the windshield. I drove off the dealership to only now find out that the 2 unreplaced tires are pretty much poorly inflated or are misshaped due to wear and tear. But I do remember the salesperson mentioning multiple times "we would not sell a car we know is not good since we take care of all the bad parts here before we sell it" that was a complete lie. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone ever, my experience with Mike Calvert was a 0/10. TLDR: I got terrible service, the car was has many cosmetic issues, the tires were not all replaced and gave us a bum tire. Windshield was not replaced as the carfax said. These guys were very unwilling to negotiate despite the issues and were sour I denied all the "add-ons". Left with the windshield still broken and very unsatisfied. 0/10 would not recommend.

This was my first buying a brand car and Jesus made sure it was one of the best experiences I ever experienced. He knew exactly what I liked just after talking to me. All he did was ask me what color car I want, and he brought out the car of my dreams. They are very attentive with all their customers. It doesn't feel like they're just trying to sell you a car and get your money they make you feel like your part of the staff and family. This is his Business card below

    Alfredo Ott
    Harris N.

I've had the worst experience dealing with Alfredo Ott, the sales consultant at this dealership and the management team. Firstly, Alfredo told me they only sell new cars at this dealership because he probably believed I was not going to buy from him right then and there! All they want at this place is your money, or get out! I talked to manager above him, Ryan, but he also played games with me and kept on saying Alfredo is a great sales consultant, never acknowledging my valid experience. Moving on up to the management to see if there was some sort of resolution we can make, Ronny Haring resulted to yelling at us! He was being extremely rude and unprofessional! How can you have managers that yell at customers?! Ben Saxton, who supposedly 'would take care of things' also defended Alfredo instead of listening to my concerns! He is one of the highest up in charge was also a liar! Ben Saxton's cellphone number is 480-512-9720, and he stated that the very next day there will be a new inventory and he will call me with the cars of my interest in mind to assist me in finding a car... well, you would have guessed it, he never called me ! I was polite and looking for a vehicle to commute to work and saw the reviews here were good, but I just got messed up on left, front, and center. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. There's a reason why car salesman have a horrible reputation, it is because you LIE LIE LIE! At the expense of your 'customer'. This place is just about the numbers and filling the salaries and commissions!

If a vehicle is advertised as Gold Certified, shouldn't all this be included in the selling price w/o markups?
    Laura J.

Unless you are a fan of the "bait and switch," I would recommend skipping Mike Calvert when shopping for a used vehicle. My husband and I found a Toyota Tacoma on their website that met our checklist and was advertised as "Toyota Gold Certified." The price listed online was $30,994, which was in our price range and we test drove it on Saturday evening. After driving back on Monday to close the deal, we were surprised to find an additional $3,994 "MTC Protection" charge added, which brought the price of the truck to almost $40,000 with tax, title, and license. When we said we did not want this "extra" stuff, we were told they could not take it off. We explained that we wanted to pay the price that was listed on their website (and showed them the listing on our phone to prove we were not just pulling numbers out of the air) the manager adamantly said that he could not remove the MTC Protection charge. We told him that if it was not optional, it should have been included in the price listed on the website to begin with. Apparently he didn't want the sale that badly, because he chose to let us walk out the door rather than honor the price that was listed on the Mike Calvert website. Not happy with Toyota Tech, Lillian, who was busy socializing with the lady in the second desk in the glass office, showing long dresses on her phone. I ended up going to another person to find out what was going on with my car. They went and got Lillian. Not good. Lillian then told me what was needed was not available. I told her she had me waiting almost two hours to say they didn't have what was needed especially since I could see her socialization. Really????? Very unacceptable!!!!! If I could give her a zero, I would. I still have to return and I live in Richmond!!! I might have to give my business to the dealership out here.

    Waiting in the service line......
    Cathy S.

So I'm here for a regular service but also have a few other issues / repairs needed. I notified the service department when I made my appointment. So fast forward to today. I arrive for my appointment and check in and confirm that I would like the squeaky breaks fixed and my cross bars repaired. I'm unsure of whether the service department is adverse to doing work or if the attendants are instructed to try and persuade customers from seeking any repairs because all I was told as - squeaky breaks - that's a know problem with our cars and will take an long long time to evaluate and the parts are like on months back order so maybe you don't want that. And also- I'll have to have the shop evaluate the cross bars and that's going to take a long long time and a lot of money so are you sure that's something you want to do? I mean are you serious???? I want a brand new car I just bought from you fixed appropriately and you're trying to convince me otherwise ? Is this even a business??? Shouldn't you be giving me options ??? So I've been told to wait in my car to see if it's possible- why would it not be possible. I'm not asking for it to be done today. I just want a plan. So It's been 20 minutes waiting and no one has returned. I honestly don't get it.

They charged me for oil not under Toyota care. Just to charge me an extra 75$. My mom is elderly so she didn't know better.

He initially brought out a rectangular filter that clearly didn't fit, followed by a second option that was approximately the correct size but significantly thinner and flimsier than the filter he removed. He proceeded to install the two flimsy filters, discarding my old ones, and charged me $25 apiece ($34.99 each less a $10 coupon for each). About two hours later, while driving home, my car suddenly went into limp mode (maxing out at 12 mph) and the check engine light came on. This was incredibly distressing. I managed to limp the car to a gas station and immediately suspected the ill-fitting air filters were to blame. Because the flimsy filters did not seat properly in the cradle, particulate matter bypassed the filter and coated my Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensors, triggering limp mode. I was able to limp the car home and confirmed the issue with an OBD2 scanner. Fortunately, I am fairly handy. I went to AutoZone and purchased the correct filters that firmly press into the housing and create a tight seal, along with MAF sensor cleaner. After cleaning both sensors and installing the proper filters, the check engine light and codes cleared. Had I not been able to diagnose and fix this myself, I would have had the car towed to a service center and Take 5 would be looking at a reimbursement request for hundreds of dollars in towing and diagnostic fees. On Saturday, I returned to the Take 5 location with the improper filters placed in the STP filter boxes. I showed the technician and the duty manager the difference in fit, explaining how a loose filter allows particulates to bypass the system. I reinstalled the improper sized filter and showed the tech how it loosely fit in the air box and then showed how the proper filter fit snug in the box, held in place by the angled cradle pressing against the angled sides of the filter. The tech initially stated that the filters he installed were the ones called for by the computer; however, when he installed them I watched him try two different size filters to see which fit better. Clearly, if he had the right filter he would not have had to do so and would not have clearly looked different from the filters that were removed. The manager spoke with the tech, checked the part numbers of the filters I had purchased, and in all spent half an hour going back and forth between the computer and the phone. Finally, she stated that because the transaction occurred the day prior, the district manager would have to reverse the charges. I was told to expect a text from the district manager once the credit was issued. She stated this would be done on Saturday (4/18/2026). Today (Tuesday), I have received no text and no credit to my account. On Monday (4/20/2026) I sent an email with the above details to Take 5's customer service email. I have not received a reply or even an acknowledgement of receipt. I am extremely frustrated by the runaround and the lack of communication. I cannot trust Take 5 after this experience. I would have respected them if they had simply admitted they didn't have the correct parts rather than shoehorning the wrong item into my vehicle just to make a sale and causing me so much distress. Instead of asking to be reimbursed for my time and the extra materials required to fix the mistake, all I was asking for was a refund for the cost of the incorrect air filters. I still haven't received a reply.
