I has a bad experience here. Matt work is no quality. You can see from the picture. When I went to his shore . He told me that he would finish within 4 days. After five days I called him and leave the message he never replied me back. He sent email back after I contact him 5 days later and he told me that he had jury duty. I am okay with his reason and made appointment with me to pick up my macbook on Monday in President day. After I went over there his shop was close. I went again in the next day. He told me that my macbook is okay only had battery problem and appointment to pick up in next day. But when I went to his shop he told me that He changed battery but my macbook is not work. So I wastes a lot of times around 2 weeks. When I went back to my countries the technician solve all the problems. As the result, my laptop did not have any battery issues . If you're like me, you probably consistently fight gravity, and sometimes end up being the victim to its disastrous effects.. aka shatter your phone every other month,or your phone magically grows wings and flies out of your hand and plummets down 15 stairs. I absolutely shattered my phone a while back and ended up taking it to some other tech place in Newport Beach, and ended up getting screwed over big time (faulty screen, random glitches, etc.). I ended up finding this place in hopes of having better service.. and WOW did I! My outside screen was severely shattered, as well the LED screen on the inside of the phone, and thought that I would have to buy a new phone for 600 . When I brought it in, Tim said it was going to cost $140. After about 2 hours of fixing, I was told that my battery was also swollen due to liquid damage (which I never knew I had). He replaced my battery for a discounted price after working on my phone for over 2 hours, and revived that thing. I noticed I had some glitches upon fixing, but Tim gave me his personal number so I could call him whenever if the glitches end up coming back. HELPED ME SO MUCH The customer service here is amazing. They literally take apart your phone or whatever product, and let you know step by step what they are going to do, what tools they are going to use, and what parts are going to be replaced. Don't ever go to APPLE to fix your products - they say that some parts are "un-serviceabe" but that's not true WHATSOEVER. Tim serviced certain parts of my phone in less than 15 minutes. The main thing is that Mac Help OC kept looking. And they found a distributor they trusted who shipped the new screen and, as they say, the rest is history. SOOO why did I chose to trust my best ever, totally up to date MacBOOK PRO to guys I've never met? Simply put ... The were always honest. They kept me up-to-date with phone calls, as they learned when they'd get the part in (in my case a freak-in' thin glass screen), when I could come to pick it ups. GUESS WHAT ... I came in here because my early 2011 Macbook was not working properly. What was wrong?: I had opened the lid of my Macbook and smoke started coming out of the computer, near the speakers. Then there was a burning smell. The biggest concern was that I could still use the computer as in I could still turn it on and use it. Why I came here?: I wanted to see why my computer was reacting like this. Also, although my computer was working perfectly fine, I wanted to see if it was safe to continue using it. My experience: Although they were not completely sure what the problem of my computer was, they did give me recommendations. They took apart my computer to see what was wrong and realized right away that there was a water mark or some type of liquid that got into the motherboard/logic board. I was impressed with how quickly they realized what was wrong. Also, they were super friendly and looked at my computer without charge. They recommended that I use the Macbook without the charger. I asked if I should replace my logic board and they highly recommended not to because replacing the logic board is costly and may not fix the problem. I like the honesty especially since I feel like a lot of people would have recommended otherwise just for the $$$. Their suggestions seem very cost efficient/friendly, recommending more budget friendly alternatives. read more

This re: business address 474 E. 17th st. Ste. 203 in Costa Mesa, CA Be warned. Our iMac 11.1 crashed and we bought a replacement hard drive with the understanding that it was brand new. Matt Castille was supposed to install a new 1 TB hard drive and instead offered us a 2 TB hard drive for the same price. That should have made us suspicious. The hard drive crashed in less than 6 months and we lost a whole bunch of vacation pictures which were irretrievable. When he was contacted re: this issue, he wanted to charge us again to replace the hard drive. This guy DOES NOT stand behind his work. When we took the computer to another business to replace the bogus hard drive, those guys showed us the hard drive Matt had placed initially was 2 years old, not new as we thought. Not only that, he also stood us up on two occasions when we had made an appointment to drop off my heavy iMac and he was a no-show. read more

Such a life saver! I am a pretty technical guy, so when my wife's SSD had some issues in her MacBook Air, I did as many diagnostics as I could think of. After a couple hours, I called Apple Care and they did the same stuff after waiting for 30 mins on hold. Then I went to the Apple Store and they ran some of the same tests but were more focused with selling me a new SSD. They had no interest in getting the data off and short of just trying to reinstall the OS from the boot partition they did nothing. Cost estimate from Apple for the new SSD: $750. The referred me to Ontrack which wanted between $900-$1,900 to restore the disk. So Apple's recommended solution was between $1,650 to $2,650. Apple wanted at least a week to replace the drive and Ontrack wanted a "couple weeks all in." Enter Matt @ MacHelp OC. I had a quick call with Matt. I dropped off the computer on Monday afternoon. Matt had a new SSD installed and ALL of the data recovered from the dead drive by Tuesday at noon. Picked it up and all is good. Total cost: $320. Point of the story -- there are a lot of Apple certified, damn smart guys out there that are far more helpful than going to the Apple store. My MacBook was still a spry 2.5 years old and under Apple Care warrenty when my one year old gunned it down with a splash of milk directly to its keyboard. It was instantly rendered unfuctuonal. There must have been a key permanently triggered from the liquid damage because it was giving my computer a constant comand that made it impossible to get past the log in screen, much less resume normal use. I knew the existing warranty wasn't going to cover it; as it is famous for not covering liquid damage and other physical damages in general. We took it into Apple in Brea to see what could be done. They didn't even look at it. They informed us that their policy on liquid damage of any kind is that there is a flat rate payment of $770 dollars, no matter how little or how much has been disrupted, and for that price they repair all compromised parts/areas. My computer was only $250 dollar less than that BRAND NEW almost three years before. There was no way we could pay almost the price of a new computer for a thoroughly used one, even though I very much loved it. We went home with my $1000 paper weight and heavy hearts, pushed her under the bed and forgot about her for months as we saved up for a replacement. Having mentioned our sad story to someone in passing, they advised that we might want to try taking the computer to a private repair shop and see if we could get our girl up and running for a price we could afford. Trying not to get our hopes up, we took to yelp, searching for a place with promising reviews. After MONTHS out of commission, we picked up my perfectly functioning MacBook from Matt and Tim today for an unbelievable $280! It is covered for a year and we couldn't possibly be any happier. They were fast, professional and honest. These guys are not trying to part you from as much money as possible like the Apple Store. They are geniuely set on determining exactly what is wrong and completely adressing the problem for the most competitive price they can offer. Truely fantastic. We would be out a very expensive, deeply loved machine if it weren't for Matt and Tim. So happy to have her back and to keep her far, far away from my rambunctious son. read more

Where do I start with Matt & Mac Help OC? Let me first start by saying that Matt is truly a "Mac Saint" in every aspect of the word. Our family has used Matt's services for years (iMac rebuilds, data recovery, hard drive upgrades, etc) and he has surpassed expectations every time. So, clearly I experienced a MAJOR bout of amnesia when I took my newer iMac to a different place right next to my house in Laguna Niguel for what should have been a simple malware removal. Not only did the new place delete important data, wipe things that should not have been wiped, AND try and upsell me on additional unnecessary services, my computer was left a shell of what it had been, data-wise. Enter Matt with Mac Help OC. His interpersonal skills are just as sharp as his technical skills because I was a semi-basket case by the time I delivered my computer to him up in Costa Mesa. Not only did he eventually restore all of the missing data (that the previous company told me was impossible to do), he found the pesky malware that was causing my computer to act up in the first place and showed me how to avoid falling into a similar trap in the future. Tim is an absolute magician. Brought my MacBook Air back to life after a huge water spill. Other places were going to charge me $800 and said they wouldn't be able to even back up my data. I honestly am so impressed and extremely satisfied with Matt's work. I came into his office with an iMac that was in pieces. It was disassembled and the screws were in a different bag. My husband brought our 27" 2010 iMac in to get evaluated. We made the lazy mistake of procrastinating to backup to an external and one day, the Mac starts crawling, struggling to open safari or pages. Tried to reboot, and it would take 30 min to 1 hour to get a login screen, except our admin user account was gone. At that point, we bought an external, texted Matt and asked if he could take us in. He said yes, so my husband took the unit in. That was Friday mid-Morning. Matt promised an update by end of day, and we got it. Apparently, the drive was malfunctioning and they would need more time to take a look and see if they would be able to back up our files (especially photos of our baby's first 2 years!). Saturday, Tim let us know they still needed more time. Understandably so, they had a lot of work on the bench. Late Monday afternoon, they let us know that they're in process of successfully backing up and restoring our system, but would need it overnight to complete. Husband picked it up this morning with an upgraded hard drive, and it's just like new! Minus one star for us having to bother them every afternoon for updates, but would still recommend them because they did respond to us eventually, got the job done, were very professional throughout the entire process, and were a lot more affordable than going to Apple!
