I would give Matt from Mac Help OC a 10 - 5 doesn't give him enough stars. I deleted all the files from my mac book and thought the end was near. Matt called me Monday morning and told me he would be out Tuesday morning. Well, I had recovered the files but had no idea what to do with them next. He set up external hard drive/time machine for me, added another external hard drive just for my i photo and away we went. It will take time to bring back all the recovered files but they are saved. I don't review too much, and often times I have to go a few times and really get good service to validate it. That was the case here. Tim and Matt are both awesome to work with and way more knowledgeable than any of the Apple employees I've come across. My iPhone 5 was a hot mess mess when I brought it into Mac Help OC last week. Half of the screen didn't work and the actual frame of my phone was bent. Matt informed me that it was a bad case and he'd try his hardest to fix it. Sure enough, an hour and a half later, I went back in and it was brand new!!! Super helpful!!! Brought in moms phone a year ago when she shattered her screen and was quickly and easily repaired. Last night her screen decided to go dead and we could not resolve the issue. The phones old and out of warranty but upgrading means losing unlimited data so we were hoping for a solution. Brought phone to Mac Help and yet again problem solved easily, quickly, and professionally. I needed to add more RAM to my MacBook Pro. I looked around yelp for local businesses and the high ratings of the place caught my eye. I emailed and then visited in person. Asked questions and got them answered. When I finally brought my laptop the memory was already ordered. It took Tim around one hour to install it, and besides he also cleaned and dusted my computer. What to say- I am super satisfied with the service. Tim is gold- not only knowledgeable but also very personable and has no problem explaining what is he doing and why. Besides, nothing can beat the atmosphere of the place- decorations include a melting Dali clock and it always smells of incense. "Apple without the corporate rhetoric," they say. I had the pleasure of visiting Matt and Michelle's shop to get my iPhone 5s screen repaired as I clumsily dropped it and the glass shattered. They made me feel like I had been coming in there for years. They not only repaired my phone but actually accommodated my work schedule and waited an hour and a half after they closed to make sure I got my phone back to me. WOW! WHOA! WOW!! Matt is a Godsend. I am a very ignorant computer person. All I know is I have had this 13" MacBook Pro since 2010. It starts slowing down and not working. I installed Sierra and it really started slowing down, plus the side charging port was not working properly. Again, remember, I have had this computer since 2010 and I still have not mastered it. In no way or form was I going to spend another $2000 on a new computer. The Apple genius employees Told me that my computer is obsolete and that it would not be worth it to fix. Thank God for Yelp, I found Matt. Matt only charged me $340 to give me a 1tb Hard drive, 8gb Ram, Clean the system and fix the charging port. The computer now is FAST and I am satisfied that I will be able to use it for another 5 years. Only because of Matt, I was saved from buying another computer. He is honest, affordable and trustworthy. I LOVE THE SMELL OF HIS SHOP!! I will forever be his customer. Be patient with him because he is In high demand!! Excellent!!!! Three years ago Apple Spectrum fixed my G5, then said never again. At that time only one tech was somewhat familiar with the G5; the rest wanted to see what one looked like. The next time I needed help I went straight to Mac Help OC. Matt has fixed it twice now, allowing me to put off the day when I need to invest in up-to-date hardware. Matt is incredible!! I took my laptop in due to startup disk drive errors, space issues, updates, basically for some much needed TLC. He pretty much sent me home with a brand new laptop, at least it felt like it to me. The best thing about my visit was that he was able to recover everything off of an external hard drive that was corrupted. All of this at a VERY reasonable cost! So I was searching high and low for a screen repair for my macbook pro. Everyone's answer seemed to be consistent "we don't do that sort of repair here but Mac Help OC does" I was pretty sure mine was so bad I would most likely be the only case they couldn't fix. I accidentally stepped on my computer one day on the corner and it shattered the screen. I just didn't want to deal with the hassle of fixing and everything else felt like more of a priority, so I procrastinated and it got worse. I am from Las Vegas and was visiting Orange County this past weekend. My daughter dropped her Iphone 3GS and completely shattered the screen. I called several companies before getting in touch with Matt. Although he was price competitive he wasn't the cheapest quote I got. VERY close, but not the cheapest. Why I did choose Matt over anyone else is because he was so professional and helpful on the phone. I dropped the call from my cell and HE immediately called me back. I really appreciated Tim's help with my Macbook pro. I dropped coffee on my keyborad. When I took it to the Apple store the "genius" barely glanced at the laptop and said he would gave to ship it off for repairs for $800! And I would lose all my files! I was devastated! I then came to MacHelp and Tim was great. He checked my laptop and attempted to repair it. He wasn't able to actually repair it (my fault) but at least he restored all my data at a fraction of the price. And bottom line was that he was nice and sympathetic. I am disabled and it is very hard for me to get out for computer repairs. It is equally hard to find someone to come to my home without charging me the cost of a kidney. Matt just left and I'm delighted! After some good advice I decided to replace the hard drive on my white Macbook, increase the RAM, upgrade to Lion and get my wifi set up for a cost that was beyond fair!
