I stopped in for a quick trip to pick up some soda and juice because we've been sick and while I love water I'm so over it and don't care to see another drop hit my mouth for a day or at least a few hours. I ended up buying some snacks, eggs and produce. The produce section is very minimal and basic. I only bought some apples, bananas and some lemons. So I didn't get a good look at the offerings, but there's a chance you might not find what you are looking for unless is a basic produce staple. The green apples had lots of bruising and some damage to ten, so I had to sort through several before finding ones I liked. The bakery section had tons of yummy treats I'd never seen in other stores. But it was Sunday so the bakery itself was closed. The aisles all seemed to be well stocked. I found what I was looking for including a dozen eggs for $6.99. It's a lot pricier here than other bigger chain grocery stores. That hurt a bit. Checkout was abysmal as only one check stand open, and the checker was either new, or not the brightest, as he was like a sloth in no hurry to move quickly. He was friendly tho. I'll definitely give it another try when I'm feeling better and do price comparisons on what I normally buy to see how much more pricey it is. But overall I appreciated the cleanliness and the fact it wasn't packed with shoppers. read more

Conveniently located off of the freeway, entrance to the Main St. Lehi. How can you not like this location, when it's located so close to the infamous "Footloose" Lehi Rolling Mills? Where are my Kevin Bacon fans at?! The store is spacious and a bit bigger than I'm used to. Employees are friendly and eager to help. I was pretty happy when they still carried dole whip here, but saddened to know they ran out of the regular dole whip mid-day. The only dole whip available when I came was the orange dole whip. I really enjoyed this grocery store. I stopped in to grab treats, a veggie tray, and flowers to go visit some friends. I didn't know I would find my favorite ever cookie sandwich there in the bakery section. I went to another maceys before I flew out the next day and found the cookie sandwich but a different flavor. I haven't been able to find a way to get these shipped to California but I'm working on it. Seriously so many delicious goodies made fresh. I love it. read more

Plenty of great selections at great prices. They normally have most everything one could wish for, except rolls of beef--we had to pay $10 for our taco meat! Besides that, great place. Fresh produce, yummy selection of cereals, abundant spices, a plethora of treats. Plus, you can't go wrong with a Kong Kone. It's also at a convenient location in Lehi, parking lot has ample room, and the carts are good (I've never had a rough wheel). TIPS & TRICKS: * Park in the back of the parking lot. This is a good tip for any grocery store and for a couple of reasons. 1) Exercise. 2) Drop your cart off along the way if you can carry your bags a few steps. Macey's can be a little bit pricey, but their sale prices are great. Their caselot sales are my absolute favorite. I stock up on all the canned goods my family will use until their next caselot sale comes in six months. Today I tried out their curbside pickup for the first time, and was very impressed with the whole process. They personally texted me when they found out that the sliced peaches I ordered were all gone, and asked if they could switch it to peach halves instead. It wasn't a big deal to me, and I appreciated the text. I loved how easy the pick up process was. I'll definitely be using it again. read more

It's no wonder my wife hates Macey's. When I ask her why, the first thing she mentions is the terrible produce section. The accessibility and plentiful parking of the Lehi location are the only things Macey's has going right, but there is an underlying reason the parking lot is empty. Trying to shop there is a frustrating experience I'll do my best to avoid in the future. To be generous, I found the produce selection to almost verge on marginal, and the quality to be so-so, (I guess my wife is more particular than I am), yet the prices seem quite high. For example, just this morning I looked at the price of peaches and grapes, each of which was priced at Macey's over 3x the price another supermarket chain in the area had listed just a couple of days ago. Then when you finally pick something with a price you can live with, there are no check-out clerks. Zero. Self-checkout only, take it or leave it. The self-checkout system is pulling up different prices than what was posted back in the produce section, sometimes high, sometimes low. Many items don't have bar codes, so you're guessing what they call the item in their system, but nothing pulls up that matches the prices they posted in the produce section. To make things worse, there isn't even an attendant to come help amend the discrepancies. It's like a ghostland. Even the service desk was empty. Does ANYBODY work here? Did I miss the fire drill? It almost seems as if Macey's is overtly TRYING to lose business... They can congratulate themselves on losing mine. (They lost my wife's business years ago). Maybe they're already going out of business at the Lehi location (I can't say I would shed a tear) and I somehow snuck in just before they close their doors, at least that's what it felt like. Enough is enough... Unable to checkout accurately and honestly, and with no assistance available, nobody to even make eye contact with, I left the items I intended to purchase right there at the self-checkout kiosk and walked out empty-handed in frustration. You would think someone might care, but nope. Nada! There was no one there to even give a flying crap that I just left my items and was walking out. This was just before 9 am! Am I amiss to think that at this time of day a grocery store might actually be functioning? Hopefully, some time before the doors get locked tonight some employee will show up to work and find my chosen items sitting there. It is mind-boggling that Macey's has apparently been in the grocery business for years and has locations all across the region, yet struggles in their inept attempt to cover the very basics. Hint to Macey's management: (1) It is common for potential customers to evaluate a supermarket by the produce section. Your executive decision to not compete on produce selection, quality and price seems to be leading to your demise. (How many stores has Macey's closed in the last 5 years? Sheesh!) (2) If you can actually get a customer in your store, despite your reputation for having the worst produce of all the supermarket chains in the Mountain West, you probably want said customers to select products and actually go through the entire purchasing process. Macey's is most definitely not the closest or cheapest grocery store to my house, in fact, I pass two other stores to get to Macey's, but it has the best bakery (and other groceries) around. I drive out of my way every Saturday (and sometimes during the week ) to get donuts. Yesterday I ordered my son's birthday cake to be picked up less than 24 hrs later. This review is going to be short Maceys is a great quick stop shop for produce of good quality and some unique products like coconuts and I am saying its unique only because coconuts if not available in a store in India is unique as much as it being available in a store here in Utah is purely because it is something that grows in tropical climes. The selection is decent and pricing good but store lacks from innovative product segments that likes of other stores like target etc have to attract a wider customer base. Hence the 3 star because one will always find what they want from a produce standpoint and is a solid and decent option to have. Honestly it's a grocery store. That being said the people are always nice and willing to help. I have never bought an item close to its expiration date and they have a pretty nice selection of meat and cheese in the deli. I have to say the selection on some items are sometimes limited and if you are used to Harmons then you might be underwhelmed. But, for the most part I would say this is a better than an average grocery store. They have a great selection of baked goods and their donuts are actually really great! But one thing that pisses me off EVERY TIME, LITERALLY EVERY TIME IS THAT THEY MOVE THE DAMN UNCRUSTABLES THAT MY CHILD HAS DECIDED IS HIS ONLY FORM OF FOOD!!!! This Macey's is the closest grocery store to my house; I stop by about four times a month to get a couple things. Their prices are a lot higher than other stores, so I almost never grocery shop there. If you go, do self-check-out. They have really friendly managers, (I think that's what they're called) but the checkers are almost always rude and seem put-out. They do keep the store nice and clean, have some good sales on drinks, and have nice displays etc. I think screening who they hire a little better would attract (and keep) more customers. read more
