Got a to-go order and was really impressed. Packaged everything really nicely, even some green friendly containers. Walked right in and picked it up at the specified time no fuss. Honestly super pleased with how great everything came out and if we weren't in a rush would've loved to dine in here. The Avocado salad was a really winner. Upon arriving the building looks very nice and renovated. Our server was kind and attentive and brought us chips and salsa right away. They serve a spicy and mild ish salsa. They were interesting with a charcoal taste and chips a little on the saltier side. Cheese dip is incredibly watery and dissipates on your chip once you dip it. Food was probably good but the flying gnats on the outside patio were terrible. I sent back my drink because of one landing in it. The flying bugs made it difficult to eat the food so we left without eating just half of it. Maybe they could add a fan or something outside to eliminate the issue. The extra charge for the rice and beans to make it a "plate" seemed excessive considering they were bland and not worth the extra charge. Great food, excellent service! Everything tasted really fresh. Everyone loved the queso. I ordered the avocado salad with grouper, which I would definitely order again. The rest of the family ordered a bunch of tacos: grouper, beef and brisket. Everything was great. We will come back the next time we are visiting. read more

While visiting Santa Rosa Beach, we tried this restaurant for the first time for lunch, but I wasn't impressed. We didn't have to stand in line to be seated. Their menu selection is quite limited. From 3-5 p.m., there is a happy hour. We began with guacamole and chips. The chips were fresh, but the guacamole was clearly canned. It wasn't fresh, which was a letdown. Then we ordered their nachos with chicken, which came with a generous portion, as shown in the photo below. Nachos, cheese, guacamole, cilantro, and sour cream are included. They tasted alright. Our chips were initially burned and overcooked, so we returned them. The next batch was better, but the nachos were extremely salty. It could have been the chicken seasoning or the salsa. I'm not sure, but I didn't care for it. I'm glad we didn't order anything else off the menu because this place didn't wow me. I don't think I'll come back here. Stopped by for an early dinner at 4pm. Service was pretty spotty, we were one of the only ones in the restaurant and nobody greeted/seated us for a few minutes. Food was not great at all. Had a Baja burrito and quesadilla. The burrito had almost no guacamole and was very bland, probably the worst $15 burrito I've ever had. The quesadilla was better but still not great. The table next to us ate half their food then asked for the manager to take it back, they said "it was just not good". Pretty much sums up our experience too. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has good environment. There are only 2 tvs near the bar so if it is busy you may not be able to watch the game. read more

I came in town for a short work trip. This place was recommended by the hotel staff as somewhere to check out for not just fish tacos, but good tacos in general. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even the manager (maybe owner) stopped by to check how I was doing and to ask if I was enjoying my food. The complimentary salsa comes in regular and hot options (I got regular, great overall flavors and not huge chunks of onions, like I prefer). I then got the Caribbean blackened taco at the bartender's suggestion. Options are shrimp or fish (mahi mahi), I got fish. Great flavor on this as well. The second taco I ordered was the brisket burned ends Indian flatbread taco, which was also suggested by the front desk at my hotel. Great flavor on this taco, even though you may be thinking burnt ends is weird for a taco choice. Definitely order it, there is a large portion of burnt ends on it. The tacos may be a little higher than expected but for the amount of meat on these tacos, I think they're fairly priced. Excuse the Snapchat captions, but this place was too good to not include the picture. Definitely recommend if you want some cantina style Mexican food! I have low expectations when I go to a Tex-Mex restaurant, but this place was undeniably great. We ordered the brisket queso which was delicious! Similar to a chorizo based, but sweet from the bbq sauce they cook the brisket in (per the chef who came to our table to check in on us). The Buffalocotacos were SO GOOD !!!! The shrimp was incredibly well fried and wasn't super greasy. It was delicious. We also got the chimichanga with pork belly. Super interesting mix of flavors. I really love giving good reviews especially for locals but I was so disappointed by our dinner here. We came on Valentine's Day around 6:15pm with our kids because my husband had a good lunch here in the fall and the place we typically go was crazy busy. There wasn't anyone at the front when we came in and there were 4 tables full. There was one server who was very kind and he sat us after a few minutes. We had an older woman bring us chips which were borderline stale and salsa but then we sat for 10 minutes waiting for even a water order. Our kids were crying from the salsa being hot and no one was in sight to get us drinks. The bartender was sitting at a table eating (during dinner service?) and would get up to make a drink then go back to his table to eat and sit on his phone while obviously the one server was having a hard time keeping up. We were told there was no pork belly or steak so that took out a good bit of the menu. We got quesadillas for the kids with fries (they're chips), my husband got the brisket burrito and I got the burgerdilla. The kids fries weren't cooked (we took them home to bake them in the oven), the beans in my husbands burrito were hard (not cooked) and my burger was a chorizo patty which was not stated on the menu. I really don't like chorizo at all and wouldn't have gotten it had I known. They did give us 50% off just the burrito because my husband couldn't eat it. Honestly, the whole time I kept thinking that they forgot they were supposed to be open that night or something. We even asked how long it had been open thinking that if it is under 2 years old then they still may be working on things but it's been open for 3 years.
