I have been doing business with them for years. I went there to have an older MacBook Pro serviced I bought from someone at the train station. Back then they were honest and very reasonable when in North Hollywood. Then they moved to Hollywood on Sunset and they had a few personal changes and things were different. First I had them to quote replacing a hard drive in my 2008 iMac for $50 then when I got to the store they quoted me $150 and I end up getting it done for $75 I brought my own HD. 2nd time I took clients MacBook pro with a bad top case they quoted me $250 for a new one. When I got it I could see dings and dents on it. I said this isn't new it's used. Oh, my bad. We can do it for $150... The 3rd time it was my iMac left there too long! They left a message saying I had one day to come get it or they would dispose of it. I was upset with that kind of language considering I've known them and dome business with them for years. I have other shops that would never leave a message nor would they sell my equipment. They would say you need to pick this up this week because I don't have the room. Anyways here's my latest bad experience yesterday I went to pick up my MacBook Pro 13' 2012 with a bad logic board or at least that's what they told me when I was at the shop 2 months ago. The manager was trying to get me to let it go and not pay the $50 diagnostic charge saying it's not worth repairing. I didn't care I paid $100 for it and I bought about $150 in new parts for it so Why would I just give it away. I was told I needed to pick it up last month but I was sick and was admitted to the Hospital for a pre existing blood condition. I went yesterday and there wasn't the $50 charge anymore I was like that's nice of them. I got home and something told me to open it up and look inside the MacBook pro. I noticed my new battery was replaced with a broken China one, no Hard drive, the data cable is the old and new one gone hard drive holder on real was gone logic board was loose and ribbons were out and broken. Super drive missing screw and loose dents near the charger port, keyboard missing a key and keyboard may have been replaced with broken one. My new trackpad was replaced with an old one that barely moved. It no longer powered on. It uses to power up and shows the flashing folder! THIS WAS MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH ANY REPAIR SHOP. THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST WILL CHANGE PRICES ON YOU SWAP OUT YOUR PARTS OR TRY TO SELL YOU A USED PART AS A NEW ONE!! I AM VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN BEING TREATED LIKE THIS AND TO TRY TO REPLACE MY NEW PARTS WITH OLD BROKEN ONES IS THE WORST. I KNOW SOME AUTO MECHANICS WILL TRY AND DO THIS AND I KNOW It HAPPENS AT COMPUTER SHOPS AS WELL BUT DO THIS TO A RETURN CUSTOMER IS ABOVE ME AND THEY WERE BEING DECEPTIVE BY REPLACING PARTS BADLY BY NOT EVEN CARING TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER RIGHT. THEY WERE MAYBE THING HE'S NOT COMING BACK AND WE GET HIS NEW PARTS SELL THEM AS NEW AND MAKE $500 OFF OF MY LOSSES!! I'M DEEPLY HURT RIGHT NOW AND I AM STILL RECOVERING FROM BEING VERY SICK LAST MONTH AND THEY ARE GREEDY KICKING A MAN WHILE HE'S DOWN. THEY DIDN'T BOTHER TO CALL BECAUSE THEY WERE LIKE WOLVES WAITING FOR THE OLD SICK PERY ITEM TO DIE OR FALL DOWN! GOD WILL RESTORE ALL THAT'S BEEN TAKEN FROM ME. Wow . I walked in looking for a replacement Wacom pen and found a new home. They let me play with the new wacoms.. no pressure. They let me bring in my own laptop to test the new wacoms with my personal setup.. no pressure. They left me alone twice to draw all I wanted. When I was ready to buy. Just a great experience...came down this morning with a dead laptop...thought I was in for serious downtime and expenses for repair, cause of some water exposure the night before...after 5 min of assessing the situation, the possible cause was found, and I was given a very reasonable price for the part and the labor...was told to expect a phone call within 30 min, and when that call came 25 min later, I was told that I could come and get my now fully functioning computer. MacHollywood has always been a go-to place for me when my Macbook Pro or Air were on the fritz. Several years ago there was a small spill on my Pro laptop and the Apple store gave me a ridiculous price for repair. MacHollywood gave me a great price for a new battery so I didn't essentially have to buy a new laptop. More recently, my 2012 Macbook Air stopped working. Jason is so nice and gave me a full diagnostics report and estimate. The team is honest and won't try to rip you off. Jason exhausted all options and I appreciated his honesty and good communication throughout the process of diagnosis. I recommend MacHollywood for anyone trying to avoid high Apple store prices! I brought my MacBook Air in today because my disk space was full and I couldn't figure out how that happened. I had a very short wait as Jason patiently finished up with an elderly gentleman who drives all the way from Torrance for their services! Jason was patient with me too, explaining what he was doing and ultimately what the problem was, which took a little research. I was sold an iphone 5 cable labeled as mac that turned out being some used chinese bullshit and ruined the battery life on my iphone. I also was sold the wrong battery for my laptop model, returned the product only to be given another battery that shorted the computer model i told them it was for. Brought in the super drive from my mac pro and asked them to check it since it hadn't been working properly. They called me back the next day and told me it was broken and that a new one would cost me $120 plus $50 labor. When I informed them that I would be installing it myself they told that, in that case, it would cost me $179 for the super drive. When I asked for an explanation , I was transferred to the service manager who somehow seemed annoyed that this didn't make any sense to me and told me that that was there policy. I got some water damage in my Macbook Pro from spilling water on my desk and they saved my Mac by replacing the power socket for a hundred bucks. I went there last week to get all of my Apple AirPort Extreme to get it replaced under warranty, and believe me they don't play around when it comes to great customer service. I thought it was going to take them about a week or more to get it replaced, and called me 2 days later telling me that my replacement has arrived and it was ready to be picked up.
