I had a very disappointing experience at Macillion Kitchen. The customer service was extremely poor, and no one seemed interested in addressing issues or helping customers. I ordered a bouillon that was supposed to include goat, but what I received was cold soup with only beef bones and no actual meat. It would have been more honest to simply say the dish was unavailable instead of serving something completely different and subpar. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was also unacceptable. The floors were sticky, the tables were dirty, and the trash bin was overflowing, which made the environment very unpleasant. I attempted to call afterward to report my experience, but there was no one available to speak with or handle complaints. That lack of accountability made things even worse. I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. Significant improvements in both service and cleanliness are needed. read more

You really can't order over the phone because they're so busy and if you order inside expect to be there 30-40 minutes. The food: it was good. The snapper was seasoned to perfection. Just tasted the food ordered - griot, rice and beans, plantains, also, tassot (fried goat), and I loved it. Honestly, this is by far the best Haitian restaurant I have found in the last 10 years in South Florida! The plantains, were freshly cooked, crispy, and tastes good. The griot was freshly cooked and not greasy. During the last few visits the wait time was approximately 30 minutes, but today, I was able to place a phone order and only waited for about half of the time. I can certainly see why people are always here for their food, and honestly, I don't mind waiting if I had to because it sure is worth it!! I will most certainly and definitely return when I'm in need of Haitian food such as griot, tassot, and their fried fish! My only dissatisfaction with this restaurant is that the woman who served the food was not friendly and appears rude. This is arguably the location for Haitian food in all of South Florida. When it comes to griot, fried plantains, and fried fish, nobody is even close. Jean & Macillion are amazing when it comes to customer service and the food is always done within 10 minutes. I live in Los Angeles but when I visit (twice a year) I literally only order food from them & Chef Creole. Macillion resteraunt is the personification of 5 star food and service. The prices are very reasonable as well. They treat customers like family and ensure you're happy with the food before you pay. *My only recommendation is to call ahead and pick up food. Due to limited parking and active towing in lot next door, ensure that you keep an eye on your car. The food is great. That's not what this review is about. This is about the scam they are running from inside of the restaurant. It may just be with an employee, but here's what went down. I went inside to order my food and even though there was no one in line, the guy behind the counter would not take my order. He stayed on the phone the entire time. I was waiting for at least 10 minutes. Then suddenly, a woman comes into the restaurant saying that there's a tow truck outside that is coming to take someone's car. I assumed it was mine because I parked on the other side of the building and sense I wasn't a customer for the other people, I assumed they called to get my car removed. As I was on my way out, the guy who was supposed to take my order in Macillion was yelling into the phone to hurry up, hurry up!!! (Mind you, he had still not taken my order.) When I went out there and the owner of the other building where I parked was arguing with the tow guy asking why he was towing my car and all the cars that parked there. Because he did not call them. The tow guy was saying it's none of his business. They argued a bit and this was when I made the connection that the guy inside was in cahoots with the tow guy. He kept me waiting inside so that the guy had time to roll through so they could run this hustle on unsuspecting customers. They probably split the money or something. So the owner of the other building leaves and the tow guy comes over and to me says, it's going to be $125 to get my car unhooked. I know this is what they do, so I said, I don't have it. Let me just take my kid's medicine because they will have the car for a long time because I won't be able to get it. He was like whaaaat? You ain't got it? Oh my goodness. He then began brainstorming on how I should call someone to bring some of the money, or pay with a debit or credit card. I told him I don't have anyone who could hook me up and I don't have a debit card. I only got this $20 on me and I need to call a Cab (cause you know Uber needs cards...he would've busted me on that) to get home. Dude was pissed and I started to get mad and say this is some bull shit. I started cussing and fake crying and saying ya'll are running some foul scheme and he was finally like, aight...go get your food. I was like, nah, you gotta drop my car first. So he did. I got in my car and drove off. No way I was going to order food after that bull and this is the last time Macillion will ever get my money. WARNING: If you go to Macillion and there is no parking, find somewhere else to park and walk or just keep it pushing, because your $20 dinner will end up costing you $125. As with most Haitian restaurants there can be a bit of disorganization. This is a take-out restaurant with a small eat-in counter. Other than a small ordering snag, food was good. The flavor is a little different than I'm used to but that's ok. For my mom, I ordered their small Bouillon (Soup) and for me I ordered the Poul Fris complet (fried chicken with rice, fried plantains, and small salad) The food was well seasoned. The fried chicken is traditional non-breaded deliciousness. This meal can feed three people. The small soup was actually really big and filling. Mom ate and went straight ton sleep (LOL). They're open 6 days a week and have all of your staples (bouillon, Griot, Tasso, Legume, Poisson, chicken, etc). I'll need to try some of their other dishes before commenting fully on food; this review is mainly about service, location, and wait time. Call ahead service seems to be the best way to go. This restaurant was crowded with folks ordering different dishes. I got the turkey with sauce, rice and beans, mashed plantains, and salad. The food was very fresh and tasteful with Haitian flavors. When we got home, the food was still hot and nice. I paid about $20 for both dishes which is a bit high for Haitian food. But the flavor of the food was amazing!! I just realized I've never reviewed them even though I've been going for years. This is one of the most consistently good restaurant I've ever been to. Fried fish is on point ALWAYS. I've moved farther away and will still occasionally make the 40 minute drive and nearly hour wait (no jokes here-bring a book) for that fish. Plantains are also good as is the rice. When we walked in we were surprised that they only serve takeout but relieved to hear so much French, not only from the staff but the customers too! This is where Haitians go when they want a slice of home. The staff was very friendly, and trust me, they'll love you if you leave them with a "Merci, Bonsoir!" All of them, like 10 behind the counter erupted in a cheery French send-off.
