My friend never had Haitian dishes. One of our friends recommended this place. So, we decided to try. This place is more for take out orders. There were always 2 to 3 people waiting to pick their orders. I ordered legume and my friend had beef with okura. We sat about 10 to 15 minutes for our food. It came with fresh djon djon rice. I could eat just this! My legume had a nice amount of meat and it was very tasty. My friend enjoyed her dish too. I have to take 1 star since they only take cash. But I will be back!

I've been going to Au Bon Gout for quite sometime and the food is always good! Today, I ordered rice and beans (diri cole) and meatballs (boulet) it was amazing per usual. The only thing they can work in is their customer service, but other than that it's a really good place to eat whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

If you ask me what the best cuisine is I'm going to say Haitian food!!! I know. I know. I'm biased but it's the truth. It's really hard to find Haitian cooking like your mama but if you're looking for delicious haitian food this is it. Now forewarning it is a Caribbean restaurant so there might be a little of a wait. Okay a long wait but once you bite into your food well worth it. My go to order is always diri Jon Jon [the infamous black mushroom rice] and boulettes [haitian meatballs]. The meatballs are a little on tbe spicy side but notbing a little water won't assist you with. The rice is always amazing that you have to get a second order. This restaurant is cash only so keep that in mind. All in all if you're looking for the best haitian food in Miami Au Bon Gout it is!

I couldn't find soup joumou anywhere, so I searched 'Haitian food' on yelp & found this gem. The ladies behind the counter were super busy, but there still wasn't a long wait, & everyone was polite & upbeat. My soup joumou was amazing. It was thick & flavorful. It was loaded with vegetables, & the portions were huge. This is definitely a place to try for authentic Haitian food.

Red beans and rice. This is apparently a hidden treasure.

Their way of having customer service is calling the customer honey, sweetie, any terms of endearment.

This was my 1st time coming here. Its a little hole in the wall. Those always seem to be the best spots. I enjoyed the food! I love a saucy type of food. I ordered the oxtail and it came in a red sauce with onions and carrots. It was gooood to me. My husband ordered the groit. He didn't like it as much (he's getting sick) but I thought it was flavorful and good with the piclez. I would go back next time in town.

When i tell you this is the best griot i HAVE EVER HADDDD!!! the portions are freakign huge!! deslish fresh and amazing!

Everything came out nice and hot. One thing that we found different with the boil is that the sauce look like gravy. We mentioned that to Si and she stated that it is like that sov it is thick enough to stick to the food items. Honestly, it was flavorful...weird, but flavorful lol. This time I had the shrimp po' boy, and my boyfriend ordered the Voodoo Burger. Both were absolutely delicious. I've also had the crawfish étouffée here before, and it's one of my favorite dishes. I was curious about their crawfish, so I asked if it was frozen. They told me they fly it in fresh from Louisiana every day, which explains the incredible flavor. To top it off, they surprised us with a sample of their crawfish boil, and it was fantastic! Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Between the authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and welcoming service, this is easily one of the best places in South Florida for Cajun food. Highly recommend!

According to Google, the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM. We arrived at 9:55 PM, knew exactly what we wanted, and would have been in and out well before closing. When we asked for a table, the hostess told us they were no longer seating guests for the evening. While I understand restaurants may stop seating before their posted closing time, the issue wasn't the policy. It was the way it was handled. There was no apology, no explanation, and no invitation to come back another day. The interaction felt more like, "Why are you here?" than, "We're sorry, but we're unable to accommodate you tonight." A manager then came over and identified herself as the manager. Unfortunately, she was even ruder than the hostess and appeared completely uninterested in resolving the situation or showing any concern for the customer experience. At no point did anyone attempt to handle the interaction professionally or make us feel valued as customers. In a city with countless dining options, service matters. It's not always what you say, but how you say it. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a very different impression than the excellent service I've received here in the past and I can't say that I'll be back.

Now, let's get to the food. I decided to try the fried oysters, and listen... for my first time trying oysters, I was hooked! They were so good that I ordered a second round. My husband ordered the hickory-smoked wings, and let me tell you, these are a MUST-TRY. The flavor was incredible! Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering their famous beignets. OMG! They were absolutely delicious. If I had any room left, I would have ordered another plate. And how could we order all that food without some drinks? You know me better than that! My husband ordered the Black Magic Lemonade with bourbon, and it quickly became his favorite drink of the day. Then he spotted an Old Fashioned on the menu, and there was no way he was passing that up--he was in heaven! As for me, I ordered the Frozen Hurricane, and let me just say... it definitely did the job! This place has officially made our list of favorite happy hour spots.
