Used Uber Eats for delivery, took about 30mins, not hot but good enough to eat. Totally Satisfied my seafood craving without leaving the house. Be prepared to spend at least $25+ for delivery & service fees..

Ordered the lake trout platter w/fries...nice big pieces of bone in trout, perfectly seasoned, not greasy, and fresh. I called in my order versus using Grubhub or Doordash, it's a lot quicker. The wait wasn't long, plus they call you when your order is ready.

I finally tried this place for the first time the other day. I was actually going to the Mackey's Caribbean place next door, to get those good ole beef patties, but they were sold out, I guess you have to get those early because they sell out fast. So I opted for soul food next door. I ordered the 5 chicken wing meal with Ole Bay seasoning, they were so good, I didn't get fries as the side, I opted for the macaroni salad which was pretty good, a little sweet for my liking but decent. The wings were so good, I went back on yesterday, reordered the same thing, but got the Seafood salad as my extra side, along with the macaroni salad. I did have to pay extra but it was cool. The wings again were great, but the seafood salad was a little on the salty side, had lots of ole bay in it, I took that and mixed it with the macaroni salad, and to me the combination together was perfect.

Still hold 5 stars years later. Stopped in here this past Sunday. Called in an order for the stuffed crab when I was about 5 minutes away from the spot. Even thought they were busy, when I arrived my food was done. I just had to wait for it to be bagged. The lady at the counter had awesome customer service. I will continue to support this business. Check it out if you are in the area.

This place has to my be favorite crab house. The crabs was extremely meaty and full of favor. Plus it's a BOB ( Black owned Business).

Crabs were awesome very big and heavy. Called ahead so there was no waiting for our order to steam. I will definitely patronize them again.

We were craving crabs and decided to find a new place where we could go and pick them up to enjoy at home. We rolled the proverbial dice and Mackey's Crab House came up the winner. Although we had to travel from the west side to the east side of Bmore, the 30 trip was not in vain. Turns out this crab house has some of the tastiest steamed crustaceans in the Baltimore area. Upon arriving, we were at the corner of Moravia and Belair Rd traveling east on Moravia and our GPS said we were here, but we didn't see the business on either corner. Turns out it was located on Sanner Ave., a street that is, how can l describe, sorta off to the side of Moravia Rd. Once we crossed Belair Rd on Moravia, a quick look to the right showed the red colored building that was Mackey's. We parked on the street and went down a flight of stairs, which served as the entrance to Mackey's as well as a home, but a small sidewalk to the side took use directly to the business. There were folks sitting outside and some inside when we arrived. The outside and inside reminded me of a 1970's Baltimore corner store with its high counter that even now l had to stand on my toes to place the order. The lady was super pleasant. Since l didn't want to go all out and order an expensive dozen as this was my first time here, l decided to go with a half bushel of small/mediums female/males mixed for $75. If they didn't work out, l could give them away to someone who didn't have the knowledge to know what a good or bad crab tasted like. Anywhoo... not a bad deal and turns out someone was late picking up their order and we were offered it so no wait, plus the crabs were still popping hot! As we paid (they accept cash and plastic) we were given a free piece of craft paper to eat our crabs on (I was impressed). As we made our way back west, the aroma of those crabs was calling, so as soon as we go home, l rushed to the yard, spread out my paper and proceeded to dump crabs out and there were a few cobs of corn in the mix as well ( keep impressing me why don't you?). As l pulled apart the shell of my first one, and proceeded to eat the wonderful, sweet meat l had fallen in love. The seasoning was not your traditional spicy, salty blend, but more of a peppery spice blend with what seemed like a buttery coating, which was fine by me. I didn't experience the burning of the tissue on the insides of my mouth and no breakout due to a highly spiced seasoning. The crabs were a true mix, but were heavy and full of sweet meat complemented by that wonderful seasoning. I enjoyed my purchase and will def be back to Mackey's.

I lived in Boston previously and Thames's lobster roll is BETTER than any I had there. It's my default order, but explore their specials when they catch my eye. I can also recommend thier scallops and fish. Their crab cakes are great as well; however, I reccomend getting other items here and crab cakes elsewhere if you're making multiple food stops in Bmore as there are equally good crab cakes at other places (Pappas, Faidleys, Nick's, Coco's etc.) but not equally good other dishes. I'm not an oyster guy, but they also have the best raw bar in town, and they have an in house dedicated pastry chef who makes desserts which are to die for if you save room.

I'd been to Baltimore for Christmas with her but wanted to see what her summers were like growing up. Her father's best friend since 1st grade, her godfather, offered to treat us to Thames St Oyster House and we could not pass up the offer. We'd been before, she'd been several times. It was her dad and godfather's favorite place to celebrate big occasions. We loved it. As we sat down at our table her godfather exclaimed "Well I'm not the only one paying for this meal, I've been waiting to use this." It was a $100 gift card from my fiancé's late father, in his handwriting. We were floored. We all got choked up and cried a little. It felt like her father was giving us his blessing from beyond the grave. The oysters were phenomenal. The crab cake was amazing. The local beer was perfect on a hot day. Then it came time to pay. We were horrified when the waitress came back with the gift card and told us it was expired. Expired? There is no expiration date printed on it which means it is legally valid indefinitely. She explained that they changed POS systems since the card had been purchased (again, by my fiancé's late father before he was taken by cancer) and that the new system did not recognize it. "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." No offer to grab a manager to see if a portion of the meal could be comped. Just $100 spent by a dearly departed that Thames St Oyster House does not have to answer for. A very tender moment ruined by poor customer service. They've lost 3 repeat customers.

Everything was delicious! Crabs were an excellent size with the type of clumpy seasoning that I prefer. They don't serve cocktails here but they do have wine, beer, and seltzers. They're known for their steamed crabs which we didn't end up getting, but if its anything like their other steamed seafood then I'd bet its delicious. The shrimp, scallop, and lobster tail were cooked to perfection and were very fresh! The scallop was a bit under seasoned but we forgot all about it when we tried their cocktail sauce! My gf liked their cocktail sauce so much that it became her standard of comparison at subsequent restaurants and she thought none were comparable! The soft shell crab sandwich was also very yummy! The soft shell crab itself was quite meaty and nicely seasoned. The crab dip was yummy but felt a bit heavy. We also didn't taste much crab flavor in it but overall it was still enjoyable. The soup was mediocre and something we wouldn't have missed if we skipped it.

The crab cakes were accompanied by a handful of greens, and heaping portions of the sides. The soup came with a handful of wrapped crackers - more than we knew what to do with! I preferred the lump crab cake, the sides were all good with the crisp cucumber salad and Cole slaw being pleasantly refreshing. The potato salad was the creamy sort. The shreds of crab was visibly evident in the veggie filled minestrone type soup, but not as evident in taste. It is always tough to get your fix of veggies on vacation, so I'd probably get the lump crab cake with cucumber salad and Cole slaw on another visit, or try one of their seasonal items.

We ordered the small raw seafood tower, the steamed seafood platter, and the lobster pasta from the large plates section. We are a family of four with a pretty big appetite, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. The raw tower came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and lemon slices, and the steamed platter was served with melted butter and nicely seasoned spices. There was also hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning on the table so you could customize everything to your taste. Once the seafood arrived we got fully busy with our hands and all the tools provided, which honestly made the whole experience even more fun. I genuinely cannot pick a favorite because we enjoyed every single thing we ordered. I also tried the Orange Crush, which I learned is a Maryland vodka drink made with freshly crushed fruit juice. That drink was dangerous because it tasted just like orange juice, but the vodka definitely sneaks up on you. Since we were celebrating, dessert was on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cast iron baked cookie with salted caramel ice cream and it was the perfect ending to the meal. The cookie was crispy around the edges, soft and moist in the middle, and the slight saltiness from the ice cream paired so well with it. Our server, Lylah, was wonderful and made sure we always had everything we needed throughout the meal. This ended up being such a memorable dinner for our family.
