My editing mac pro was having some serious kernal failure issues essentially reducing the machine's ability to ZERO. It finally gave out and wouldn't even reboot. I consider myself tech savvy and did everything I could before calling for outside help. I'm glad I did, especially glad i found MacMyDay because they were exactly the solution I needed. Within the same evening of writing them an email stating my system's issues, I received a reply from Tommy which followed with a phone call. He was super helpful, gave me a list of things to try given my tech prowess and i reported back with my findings the next day. I did everything he suggested, and knew it was beyond my abilities so the machine was dropped off at his place in Burbank.... It took Tommy a day to get it back on track, no data loss and the machine can now be used for an upcoming edit. I can't recommend MacMyDay enough.... Tommy is incredibly professional, listens, and evokes a sense of confidence which helps when you're thinking all is lost. I found Tommy at MacMyDay on Yelp. My experience has been phenomenal. I'm an old pc repair tech and I recognize quality repairs and quality service when I see it. He was extremely thorough and honest with his estimate, showing me the component damage with detailed pics, a detailed explanation of the scope of the work that absolutely needed to be performed and a few potential issues that would only show up further into disassembly and testing as well as cost. We have been using Todd Frank at MacMyDay for several years and he has been nothing but FAST, FAIR and a genuinely great Mac technician for us. We call, and he is here within the day or faster. He knows Mac as well, or better, than the factory does. I have used him for updates, all repairs, and keeping my iMac in top running condition. If I just want advise on how to do a certain thing he will give me exact instructions over the phone, it doesn't get any better than that. My iMac came with a 1tb hard drive but needing more storage I had him put in a 4tb drive and 16gb of RAM, now my iMac just flies! I spilled water on my MacBook and took it to Tommy he charged me around $700 to repair it. I was really happy when I got it back thought it was completely repaired, since that's what I asked him to do with my laptop. I didn't hesitate to pay neither did I ask for a lower price. But now I'm really upset, my keyboard isn't functioning correctly. I had asked him about the warranty before letting him proceed with fixing my laptop and he said it was 60 days. I paid trusting that if something was wrong after he was done repairing my laptop he was going to fix it. I contacted him in that period of time when I found out my laptop wasn't properly repaired and now he is charging me $275 to repair two buttons that don't work on my keyboard. Didn't want to argue about the warranty, since I felt by the way he was replying to me that he just wanted to get rid of me and give me back my laptop, so I just picked up my laptop. Also when I would ask him to give me an appointment to drop off my laptop for him to fix it, he would say that he would text me back because he was overbooked and he wouldn't text me back. I don't recommend this place to fix your laptop, don't risk paying a high amount of money if the company is not willing to keep up with the warranty. read more
