Through a series of unfortunate events, the screen of my old macbook pro broke. I've had this computer for 8 years and definitely did not have the budget to purchase a new macbook pro. That's where Tommy came in - he was honest and upfront with me about my options: 1. replace the screen, 2. trade my computer in for another refurbished macbook pro, or 3. get a new macbook. After discussing the effort/cost, I decided to have Tommy replace the screen. He was available that same day to meet with me and take my computer. My Mac Mini (Late 2012), had been slowing down little by little. A friend at my work, who knows way more about these things than I do, recently had his Mini upgraded at a local shop. I asked him what he had done and how much it cost him. After some contemplation and investigation I decided I was going to invest a little and upgrade my Mac Mini, too. I decided I was going to add more memory (4 to 16GB) and upgrade to a solid state internal drive (500GB). Everything I read said that replacing the memory was a piece of cake, but that the Solid State Internal Drive was a little difficult for a rookie like me, plus there was this thing about backing up the data and then reinstalling it. I chose to purchase the items myself and then have them installed professionally. I had spoken to a couple of shops nearby and was given some quotes. After I had acquired the parts, I was ready to take them to the shop and get it done. When I called the shop I had chosen, their quote came back way more than they had previously stated. It was at this point, that I chose to try something else. I Googled Mac Repair and found a site that referred me to several local people who did this type of stuff. MacMyWorld seemed to fit my criteria and their initial quote seemed to be reasonably priced. I contacted them, thru the site, and shortly after I was contacted by Tommy. From the very beginning, Tommy seemed to be knowledgable and he was quick to present me with my options. Which included me backing up and reinstalling the data myself, which would have saved me a few bucks, or I could have him do it, which would include a complete diagnostics check and repair, Malware check and removal, back up and reinstall system and migrate user data back into my Mini. Lets just say, this was no small matter. My system and drive had not been backed up for some time (years), so backing it up now took two full days. Once that was completed the rest was completed in less than a day, as promised. Tommy updated me all along the way and kept me in the loop during each step of the process. Tommy of MacMyDay, was a total professional and did everything that was promised and at a very reasonable price. *The quoted price didn't change, even after my drive that was almost dead, took two additional days to transfer the data. I know this review is a little long, but I can't emphasize how pleased I was and am with Tommy and MacMyDay and the service they provided. I would highly recommend them for all your computer needs. I got my laptop fixed by Tommy and his team a month ago. Tommy was quick to respond to my issue with a key not working on my keyboard for my MacBook Pro Retina. It took two days to fix the issue, which was a fast turn around considering they had to order the part and then install it. I appreciate how responsive and professional they were about my issue. They quoted me a great price compared to the apple store, which apple want to charge me around $500-600 to replace the whole bottom panel consisting of keyboard, battery, and trackpad. I thought that price was ridiculous to pay considering the number of times in the past I have been to the apple store to pay for out of warranty repairs. The price quoted is literally half the cost of a new base model MacBook or iPad pro, which I was not in favor of. Tommy and his team needed half of the payment as a deposit for the job before they can start the work order and upon completion, they require the other half. Tommy helped me reduce the downtime of not having my laptop by calling me when the part arrived to drop off. My keyboard has been solidly working. I wanted to review this business at a later time to make sure the repair was upheld and working properly a month later. It has had no issue since the repair. read more

MacMyDay is one of those rare businesses that my frustration is not with them but with Yelp. Why does Yelp only offers Five Stars?!!! On very rare occasions I feel like someone deserves a SIX or even a SEVEN stars rating and this is one of those rare moments. EVERY single time I find myself in a bind with my Mac, Tommy is there for the rescue. I'm a big fan and that's not easy for any business to achieve. Since I love all of my Macs (I have a few), I don't like admitting that they do have their fair share of issues (mostly software issues not hardware) but if and when they need TLC, I only have one place where I take my Macs and that's Tommys. Sure, if I had a PC I would take it to any Geek in any squad, it's like changing your oil in your Hyundai at any local Pep Boys BUT when you have an M3 would you still let your Pep Boys dude touch it? I don't think so. That's when you need a pro - same works with my Macs and that's why my Macs only see Tommy at times of need. Pricing was always as fair as can be and considering the times where I needed help on weekends or a fast turnaround, I was never charged extra for it - The prices are totally acceptable, the service outstanding and the availability never failed. Turn around time was always fast so I never went to long without my Lap Top which helped keeping my separation anxiety to minimum. Thanks to Tommy I also learned the value of Backing up. I never did but always knew I should. Well, Tommy, with the persistence of a classic polish jewish mother, got on my ass and made sure that I will start doing it. Now, I can proudly say, I do save all my stuff. I have a great backup set up at home (thanks to Tommy, again) and Time Machine is my new BFF. I realized that getting a pro to help, is good not only in times of need but also as a preventive measure. Who knew?! Yesterday, on a SATURDAY pm, I encountered another problem. A quick call to Tommy resulted in a trip to Burbank. Less then 2 hours later, I'm driving home with a problem already forgotten :-) Once again, couldn't thank Tommy enough.
