My 3-year-old iMac was behaving very badly (very slow, software crashing and/or requiring Force Quit, machine shutting down randomly), and I thought I'd have to buy a replacement. But before doing so I contacted Ray and described my iMac's problems. He said it sounded like I needed a new hard drive, but to bring it in for a free diagnosis. I brought my computer to the shop on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday afternoon Ray called me and said I did indeed need a new hard drive, and told me how much it would cost. On Monday afternoon the computer was ready to pick up. When he demonstrated it for me at the shop, I could see it was working properly, and all my data was in place right where it should be. Even my desktop looked exactly the same. My computer has been working great, like new, ever since I got it home. The new hard drive (labor, parts, data transfer) cost me only 40% of what a new iMac would have cost, and getting it repaired involved much less hassle than getting a new computer during a pandemic. The repair is okay. The customer service is horrible. I called them and asked if they can do same day repair and they said yes most of their customers do same day repair. When I arrived, first of all, their parking sucks. I went in and handed over the laptops and the person told me to wait for them to call. And it will take couple days for them to fix it. Tried to "play hardball" on a trade-in. I brought in my 2012 Macbook Pro and told the owner, Ray, I was looking to trade it in and buy a newer laptop from him, and the first thing he said was, "How much do you want for it?" (First warning bell.) I countered with, "What do you usually offer?" His response: "Well, we don't want this." (Second warning bell.) I said, Okay, and started to put the computer back in my bag and he said, "What are you doing?" I replied, "You just told me you don't want it." Absolutely amazing experience. I have a brand new 2020 MacBook Pro and I had damaged underneath the screen. I searched everywhere but no one could help since it was a brand new model and Apple wanted to keep my computer for severally weeks. I called MacPro-LA around 10 am and Ray told me it would be no problem, to come by and drop it off and it will be ready by the end of the day. These guys were so reassuring and helpful. I rely on my laptop for survival and would have done anything to have it working. They calmly told me I had a great machine and replaced the battery in one day at a reasonable rate. This is a place I'll keep coming back to for service and future purchases too. UPDATE: My second time here. My laptop crashed while installing Sierra and they retrieved my data, installed the OS, found crucial files and loaned me a machine to work on for a few days, all for what was a very reasonable rate. Losing my means of making money at the worst time of year doesn't bring out the best in me, but they were so understanding. Highly recommend. UPDATE: Third visit. My screen stopped working and rather than charging me to repair they told me that it was caused by an apple recall and sent me off to have it handled free of charge elsewhere while moving my HDD into a rental machine. I unfortunately broke the display on my 2020 13-inch Macbook Pro and was extremely concerned that I would not be able to fix it. Given the fact that this computer recently released, many places around my home did not have the appropriate parts to fix my display. I'm so grateful to all those who had reviewed it before because your information is why I went in to see if they could help me, and now I want to let anyone having mac issues know that this is the place to go for reasonable and speedy work! My computer died - I tried rebooting it and got error messages, I even did the manual reset to try and reconnect the hard drive, but I failed. When I brought the laptop in and described what had happened I was not only told the two most likely causes for the error, but what they both would approximately cost. TALK ABOUT AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I picked up the computer 36 hours later and Ray, the owner happened to be there. I started to pick his brain about the speed of my laptop. I told him I had updated the RAM but I still wasn't thrilled with the performance, as I'm an editor and I often have to use the laptop when out of town for other work. He not only offered up options to increase the performance of my computer he talked me through the pricing and what to expect if I chose any or all of the upgrades. I settled (great price and speed) on a 1TB SSD and he had it ready for pick up that same day! Not only that, but he backed up my computer then and there so I didn't have to take it home, back it up, and bring it back like you do at the Mac store.
