    Pot pie
    Brittany W.

Stopped by here for a late lunch and fortunately I wasn't hungry because the wait was long and the portions were small. It was definitely a disappointment since I've always had good pastries and cookies from other Macrina Bakery locations and thought this would be a great lunch spot. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it took almost 20 minutes to receive despite there not being a ton of other customers at the time (unclear if they had to assemble it before baking, but I was a little confused by the wait time). It was so slow that when I went to ask an employee for a utensil, they asked if I was coming to ask where my food was (so they were aware). The pot pie itself was flavorful and the crust was flaky, but the portion size was on the smaller side. I'll come back for pastries another time but unfortunately this was not a wow-worthy first experience for this location!

Great place to hang out and catch up! Indoor and out door seating! I love the tasteful decorations inside. All very on theme and cohesive. Come on Sunday morning for the farmers market right next door! So many pastry options and drinks. Lots of gifts to purchase as souvenirs too. Water is your choice of still or sparkling. Bus yourself! Drinks get called up. We made a mistake and forgot about the drink to go grab it and we sat outside so we didn't hear the name or number called. They made us a new one... This is gonna be my go to pastry breakfast spot on Sundays!

Nice popular upscale bakery on Mercer Island offering fresh breads, croissants, and tarts. Croissants were fresh, flaky and very tasty. The bakery also offer savory bagels, muffins and scones. This Saturday morning was very busy; many people were having coffee and their specialty sandwiches there.

I stopped in the afternoon on a weekday to avoid the rush and crowds that I typically see when driving by. There was plenty of seating and only 2 groups in line. There were also plenty of pastries left. The new bakery space is lovely with plenty of indoor seating and patio seating too. They have a full coffee bar and full menu including sandwiches and food in addition to their pastries. We ordered their famous cinnamon roll and the apple turnover and both were great! They tasted fresh and had good flavor without being overly sweet (though that is relative). The service was medium paced, but it is to be expected on a weekday afternoon. The servers were friendly and working hard. The price was standard pastry prices aboud 5-8$ per pastry. The location is convenient and there is decent parking though it can get crowded as it is a shared parking lot.

BLT Breakfast sandwich with avocado spread

I want to like it, but.... It's not what I expected based on Macrina's reputation. I stopped in on a Friday morning. A BLT breakfast sandwich with avocado spread (not fresh) and a latte costs just over $25, before tip. There are not nearly enough staff behind the counter; waited in line 15 minutes just to place an order. The wait staff shout because there is so much noise that no one can hear each other (concrete floors, brick walls, hard surfaces throughout all echo and amplify the noise). There is no table service. You have to clean your own table. The latte and BLT were ordinary, mildly enjoyable. I did not feel it was worth the effort, the chaos, or the cost.

So happy to have another bakery opening on the island. I have come here a couple of times now with the first one during opening week. I have always love the brioche loaf in the stores so when it opened I was happy to see all the other baked goods. The store is very cute and staffs are very nice. However it is not unkept very well as I have to buss the table for the last two times. I'm hoping there will be more signs so people will clean their own table after using it? The food, it's a mix, I had good experience from the first time and the cheesecake was very yummy, the croissant was decent. This time the quiche was definitely overcooked and the cookies were disappointing. My chai latte was ok. I think I'll just come back for baked goods I like instead of trying new things.

New bakery on Mercer Island! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. There is a a parking lot but with the Sunday market nearby the lot can get pretty chaotic. The decor inside is gorgeous - very modern vibes. We got their coffee, chicken pesto sandwich, and raspberry croissant. Food tasted good but nothing mind blowing. This bakery is definitely on the more expensive end. Service was super quick - make sure to double check your order when you checkout. Overall good spot if you're looking for a place to work or study or have quick lunch.

So happy to have Macrina Bakery on the Eastside. Stopped by on a Monday & no wait. Delicious & tempting pastries were on display. We tried almond pinwheel ( I like this better than almond croissants), apple turnover (huge!), and a chocolate peanut butter cookie (wow). Everything was good, free sparkling water is a nice bonus too. Plenty of seating. I left my baguette behind on the counter....ugh..otherwise, a great visit! Same parking lot as Pagliacci pizza. Check it out on Mercer Island! I'll be back soon for more pastries & coffee.

Finally a great bakery, cafe and coffee shop on MI! Swing by on opening day and grabbed some pastries and their awesome granola but wished I could've gotten more, which means I'll definitely need to go back again very soon. The bread selections are top notch and the baked items are all worth a try.

Oh Boy eastside we are so lucky to have a Macrina Bakery now on Mercer Island. This location opened on 7/5/2025 and it is a beautiful location. Service was fast and friendly and there is lots of places to sit both inside and outside. Just like other locations, there are lots of goodies and sandwiches for all and the coffee is amazing and served in-house in ceramic cups. One of my true favorite things at all of these locations is the option for sparling water as well as still. If you choose to go on Sunday's go early as the Mercer Island Farmer's market is right next door and it can get busy. Love Macrina's and the new location is awesome.

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Definitely coming back for the mushroom and Gruyère pastry and to try their other delicious flavors. Their supreme croissant flavor switches often and we can't wait to try the next one! I originally planned to just grab a coffee and a croissant, but after noticing how popular the mushroom Gruyere croissant seemed, I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly delicious, perfectly filling, and even better when warmed up. The staff member kindly offered to heat it for me, which really elevated the whole experience. While they serve Umbria coffee, which isn't my personal favorite, the food more than made up for it. The service was warm and friendly, and the overall vibe was welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try the mushroom croissant again or maybe explore some of their other pastries next time.

They release new flavors every week, and the demand is real. We ended up buying all four of the weekly flavors, and honestly, every single one was amazing. It's rare to have a lineup where there isn't a weak link, but Flour Box delivered across the board. The donuts are not only delicious, but they're also incredibly beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the flavors and presentation. They're almost too pretty to eat... almost. The coffee was also surprisingly good and paired perfectly with the donuts. The space itself is pretty small indoors, but there is cute outdoor seating available if the weather cooperates. Because of the limited space and popularity, expect a wait. Pro tip: keep an eye on their Instagram stories before heading over. They do a great job posting updates, including when they expect to hit their cutoff for the day. It'll save you from standing in line only to miss out. Between the creative weekly flavors, delicious donuts, great coffee, and fun atmosphere, Flour Box is definitely a spot I'd recommend trying at least once--though you'll probably find yourself coming back again and again.

If you wanted to enjoy your donuts right away, they have a really cute outdoor seating area as well. The line is no joke though. They're only open Thursday-Sunday until sold out, which they do every day. Make sure you check their Instagram to stay updated on the line status and whether you're still able to join it or not. Their line is especially long when they have savory flavors. On these days, I'd recommend going before opening and waiting rather than coming after. Sometimes it's already too late by then. The staff are all amazing and do their best to serve you as quickly as possible, but it will still require quite a bit of waiting. Highly recommend Flour Box if you want to but come early and be prepared to wait.
