I went there not long ago for an oil change and I dont know who did it but her car has been acting up lately and making noises and on the verge of stalling. Stay away!!!!! Was told one price one day which was agreed upon then charged a extra 600 the next day for the same part cost and labor, I complained and was given the original price we agreed upon, i now wonder if I really need the repair they said I did. I feel bad for how many customers they have probably screwed with this tactic, they claimed it was a mistake but that was not the case they clearly were trying to rip me off. They may be AAA certified but that means nothing to them it's just to help them lure in more people to rip off. read more

They charge VERY fair prices for the work that they do, and their work is done with great care and quality. Been a customer since they relocated from where Wendy's now is - multiple vehicles. Never a problem accommodating an appointment or getting a fair description of anything brought in w/a problem. Inspection criteria does seem extreme (failed a license plate on reflective visibility) but appears just to strictly follow the letter of the law - not unscrupulous. On the flip side they've, on occasion, noticed other issues before inspection was due and suggested addressing so as to avoid a rejection sticker too, so, it works both ways. As good as it gets for service quality, scheduling, communication and vehicle delivery. Plus free coffee for vehicle work! read more

Awful!! Went in for an inspection sticker and was treated to a condescending Skip explain to me how he couldn't pass the vehicle because of streaking wiper blades. It was an obvious attempt to sell me something. When I politely declined his service and told him I would buy some blades at the parts store he rudely walked off with an attitude. By the way, I never replaced the blades (I didn't need them). I went to another inspection station and received my sticker without issue. read more

I called them to see if they could do a clutch replacement on my car, and the mechanic said "we can fix a transmeesheeon.." So I dropped my car off to get the clutch replaced. Later that day my phone rang, and the mechanic said he's been beating on my clutch fork for almost an hour trying to get it off. It doesn't come off I told him. You don't need to take the clutch fork off to change the throw out bearing on this car. Because of the beating, there is a nice dent on the floorboard, and I'm afraid to see what happened to the clutch fork mount.... read more

I brought a vehicle down there for an inspection sticker. They must not have noticed that it has an electronic steering rack. Because they failed it and I brought it to two other reputable shops and they both said it is well within spec. When I brought the vehicle back and said that, they didn't want to hear it. They couldn't take a second to help me instead talked at me like I was just a person they could take advantage of. Regardless I brought the vehicle to another shops who helped me and they agreed with my assumption that I was being taken for a ride. I wish it wasn't $70 to get one vehicle inspected. Let me start by saying that I called my Geico roadside service, they said they would get somebody out to service my car I had a flat tire. They told me they couldn't find a provider in my area, to tow my car. I had a flat and all I needed was to have a provider to come change my tire or tow my car to the nearest garage. She preceded by telling me they were having tornado warnings and would not be able to help me. Anyway I gave a shout-out to my boyfriend's AAA they sent Max Auto Repair 77 East Main Street Webster Mass. They were there within 10 minutes. They were an angel on my shoulder. I cannot say enough about the customer service I got from Terrell the Towing service provider. He was exceptionally considerate kind and prompt with wonderful service. I would recommend Max Auto Repair to anyone in the area of Webster Dudley Southbridge Sturbridge Douglas any area towns. There seems to be a lack of providers in the area and they are very efficient with great customer service, as I said before and I would recommend them to anyone. I went for an inspection and the inspector (eric) failed me based on his own personal views, not the actual law itself ( I have read the MA inspection law, and the vehicle adheres to all clauses). On top of that, they are very curt and unwelcoming. Really, don't go here. There are much better places in the area! read more

This place is absolute garbage. I've never written an online review for any place in my life but I've never felt so ripped off in my life. They failed me for an exhaust leak on my safety inspection. I then asked them where the leak was and the guy told me he didn't know exactly so I'd have to take it to a exhaust repair shop to get it looked at. So I went to an exhaust shop and they fixed the leak and told me I should be all set. I bring it back to Mac's for a reinspection and they FAIL ME AGAIN FOR AN EXHAUST LEAK. I called the guy who repaired my car and he couldn't believe they failed me again because there was no leak at all after he fixed it. I then brought it to a different place to get inspected and they passed me no problem and couldn't believe that I failed because of that. THERE WAS NO LEAK AT ALL AND YET THIS PLACE FAILED ME ON MY REINSPECTION FOR IT AGAIN. So pretty much I had to waste another 35 dollars to get it inspected at a place that actually knows what they're doing. Stay away from this place at all costs. This place has caused me so much inconvenience and stress for no reason. read more

During a camping vacation my alternator failed on a Friday evening. We were scheduled to tow our trailer home on Sunday. We dropped it off at Mac's but their schedule was packed on a Saturday. Due to a couple of cancelations Eric was able to replace our alternator by 2:30 Saturday. We can't thank the crew at Mac's enough.
