I'm super picky but I told her exactly what I wanted and she was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She offered to size me and made sure I was getting the right bra. Worst customer service ever. I've had two negative experiences with them, especially the home dept. and will never shop there again. Once, I purchased a gift card for my mom. When she went to shop with it, they said the gift card had not amount on it. WHAT? I basically had to take my receipt and after a lot of arguing with the manager, they agreed that it was an error and the card was not accurately activated. I also bought an Arthur Court tray that I wasn't sure about. I kept it in the box for a week, never opened, and went to return it. They told me that the merchandise was not from Macy's. I want to start by hoping some one from upper management take this very serious I came in to the store and I was told that I can use my friends and family coupon plus additional 20% off if I apply for a Macy's credit card if I get approved or not fine I bought my daughter her prom dress and I got my discounts my friends and family coupon and my 20% off great job When I go to the shoes department to buy her shoes ARACELI tells me I can't use my 20% coupon I can only use the friends and family coupon i explain that the the person that sold me the drees did it for me and she said she wasn't supposed to do and that she was going to get in trouble I work for a retail company and you will never get in trouble for taking care of a customer you will get in trouble for not taking care of her? For my first visit back to the valley, I thought I would stop by my local Macy's and get some pants, shoes, or perhaps even a knick-knack. And on this day in particular, I stumbled upon a little Macy's doll with a price tag of $0.01 on it. The original was $19.50. I asked around to see if I could check it out and each lady in the beauty department either had never checked anything out or didn't want to help me achieve my daily goal of collecting knickknacks. They each told me to talk to customer service and when I did, they stripped me of my doll and embarrassed me by calling me a weirdo in front of customers and employees. just waiting for this miserable place to go out of business as they can't even complete the simplest tasks. i placed a "pick up in store" order online and after standing in line for an eternity (all ahead of me were returns or some type of complaints), i was finally provided with my order. i asked to see the items before paying to confirm they were correct since previous macy's experiences have left me with no faith. the cashier said i have to pay first. no problem, i paid. As i had suspected, the item i was provided with was the wrong color, despite my very clear email order confirmation. the cashier ignored me and started processing the customer behind me. i was left awkwardly standing there, with my toddler, until a different cashier told me he could return it but that i would have to go find my correct item on my own. what a joke! read more

You can never really go wrong with Macy's its my goto after nordstroms. its kinda like nordys rack to me but with out the bargain hunting and trying to find your size. Friendly staff. Good selection. The have sales more often then nordys and it really pays to open a macys card. Their men's suit selection is to be reckoned with and their cologne and perfume section. They also have a good man and wines jean selection but also that's where they compete with nordys rack. read more

Went here to purchase a Bestsey purse about 3 weeks ago and the cashier told me my credit card got denied and told me to swipe it again. I did and she said it go denied so I couldn't purchase the bag. Today I checked my account summary and Macy's charged me $117 for the Betsey purse when they clearly told me I couldn't purchase it. Be careful shopping here they will take your money even if they tell you it got denied ! ALWAYS CHECK YOUR STATEMENT / BILL if you pay with credit or debit !!! I went to the one day sale and went to try on some items in the fitting room. An attendant grabbed my arm and pointed at a sign saying there was a 6 item limit. I politely showed her I had only six items but she persisted in grabbing my arm and pointing at the sign. I was so shaken I just left the fitting room and went to a cashier. I complained and was told the manger was too busy with other customers to come over. I will not be back any time soon. Very upsetting. read more

If I could give negative or zero stars, I would give them that!!! DO NOT PURCHASE A MATTRESS from Macy's topanga!!!!!! We have been on many vacations to Las Vegas at high end hotels and would always wake up refreshed and well rested! We decided to look at he brand and saw it was Hotel Collection. We said this is the brand we want to get since we love the beds everytime we slept in these amazing beds at high end hotels. So I purchased the hotel collection brand mattress a little over 2 years ago now and paid over 3k for it. This is my second mattress I'm having an issue with. Same brand and same mattress which was highly rated through the store rep and customer service. It was highly suggested by the guy named Steve at Westfield Topanga mall Macy's in the mattress department. He is a really nice guy and seemed to know what he was talking about. We purchased the Hotel Collection brand that's firm through Steve after sleeping on the in store sample. Less than a year later we started having problems with our bed. We woke up with incredible bad back pains and would constantly toss and turn. We called them since we have a 10 year warranty. Hey sent someone out who did the measurements and saw the mattress was lower than normal and said it's a defect. They said they would swap it out with a new one and that this was one of the best mattresses so he was surprised we had an issue and hat if we had an issue again we can always call them to check it out and send a new one. So we bought about it and said let's give it another try since it has so many great reviews. They went ahead and sent us a new one. Again we have the same problem but even worst now. I wake up in agonizing pain, asdoers my husband. We are miserable and don't understand how this could happen to us again. We are both healthy sized individuals and these mattresses are just a year old but give us so many problems. We called the warranty again and they sent someone out. They said it does dip in but not enough to their standards to consider it a defect. They only offered to either call back In 3 months to test it again or that they would give us 50% which was not even that, it was about $1,000 but the warranty would be voided and that we can try to sell it. LOL!!!! Can you believe these were my options????? I was telling the customer service rep from Florida and the manager who both told me the same thing!!! I told her how can you make me sleep on that bed for another 3 months to try it out when I tell you our mattress has a defect AGAIN and we are in the most agonizing pain?? I have put important hinge on hold because my back pain has becone that severe. All due to this stupid brand hotel collection beds at Macy's!!!!! Horrible customer service!! I feel I was cheated and we really trusted Macy's and are so disappointed for being such long and loyal customers!!!! I have never felt so taken advantage from anyone like I have with this company!!! They are thieves and treat their unhappy customers like garbage! We really splurged and thought we were getting the best from Maycys only to be sold a horrible and defective mattress!!! The store have an outdated, erroneous telephone system, a truly "go around, one reaches a department, only to be transferred over to another one, finally arriving at a non responsive end, mind you, following instructions will get you right into this carousel, however, it's free, excluding the time spent calling and desperately searching for the right department, with low chances of transfer to a correct department, wow. read more

Well, this place is a scam, all their product might sound like a good deal. Well the truth is, everything that is sold here are 3rd world quality products. They pride themselves to having top quality products. They have low quality items, might as well just go to target and get your clothing's there. Target has better quality than Macys product. People complain about the employees, but its not their fault they act so business like. It is the department policy that messes with people, and sales employees even the managers. They are so stressed and pushed to reach goals. Macys, treats their employees like garbage, they pretend they like them, they do food day to pretend they are important to the company. They are always understaffed and too many different sales that makes no sense. They super sale is the same thing as coming in with a coupon, if your a Macys card holder. Also don't fall for the Macy's card application trap. They make you apply and they don't tell you that its bad for your credit and sometimes they double tap your credit and ruin your credit a second time in one transaction. I went to my neighborhood Macy's to get some clothes as i do always. I stopped at the Cologne section to check some fragrances out and "Farida" the lady working the counter was being really persistent and rude because Of closing soon. She was forcing her way through everything and into me buying something i didn't want and when i made my mind up and chose to buy just some deodorant, she didn't want to deal with us anymore I'm guessing because it was a cheaper item or maybe because of my race, thinking we don't have the money to buy something to her liking she was really disappointed in my choice and had sent me to a different register saying hers was closed but started to sell something to someone else when we walked away. She made me feel Insignificant and that my purchase was unworthy of her, she even looked disgusted of us, as if we wasted her time ...i never thought i would ever run into a service problem at Macy's like this. I just hope that what she did does not represent the company's protocol and procedures. I also wonder that what she did was it actually racially provoked? and if so i wish it not to happen to anybody else. I went to this place once it converted to Macy's and I had serious issues with this place. First, because I would go to Promenade and I would get good service. Promenade wouldn't have that many employees but the ones that were there were very helpful. The first time I stepped into Macy's in Topanga I was impressed at how many employees they had and how much they lacked customer service. I remember I presold something at the lancome counter and they lost my presale bag. The sales person seemed so frustrated at the bags inside the counter and kept tripping looking for my presale. When I asked for my money back she said not to worry because I wouldn't get charged unless I picked up the package and since it had been lost it was fine. I ended up being charged.... grrrr!! It was my fault I didn't resolve the issue so I ended paying for some eye liner and mascara I never got. After that, I stopped by to return skirt and a dress. Woah, they had me go counter to counter to get some type of approval to return. I don't know what was the big deal, the skirt was like $12 bucks and the dress was $20 bucks. I was like seriously?!! When I buy my designer jeans I make my mind a lot faster than these girls inspecting everything on the dress and skirt. I walked into this Macy's on a one day sale and there were lines all over the home dept. The people infront of me in line were so annoying and complained about how hot it was and why wasn't the sales person hurrying up. I felt really bad for the lady behind the counter because I could tell she was doing her best. These people though, decided to stack so much junk near the toasters and ended up taking just one thing. The type of ppl that walk into the this place are somewhat messy. Just recently I visited topanga and I was greeted by over 6 employees around the perfume area. One lady walked up to me and asked me to open a macys card which I already have. But when I walked into the dresses dept everything was a mess. About 3 sales people walked by me, did not greet me or let me know they were there to help. However, when I walked to the fitting rooms one lady did dare to ask me to bring my garments out. Well of course I would bring them out!!! But If someone would have helped me on the floor I wouldn't have been annoyed when I was asked to bring my garments out. When I walked in the rooms, they were messy and I noticed that the sales person didn't tell anyone else to bring their garments out. I enjoy shopping there - I only shop there for clothes, as the other men's products that I might ordinarily buy are much cheaper online. The clothes are priced quite well and if you go there on a holiday or have coupons, you will save lots of money. And, if you have a Macy's credit card you will save even more. The cashier's can usually take off anywhere from 10 to 50 percent off some items, particularly if they're on clearance. I've gotten some pants that retailed for $120+ for a mere $45-50, and some $75-80 ones for $25-30. My kinda place. Now, having said that - they really need to work on speeding things up at the cashier. There are not enough cashiers, that is the main problem. Today, I waited in line for over fifteen minutes (as the first one at the front of the line!) while the cashier helped another guy and his wife ring up about $600 worth of clothes. The guy nicely apologized to me a few times for holding me up, and so did the cashier when my turn finally came. And, she took off a bunch of dollars from all of the items I bought, just to be nice, and because of the wait. Macy's has *always* had this problem though. It's like they don't train the cashiers to work quickly. I don't even need my clothes folded. Just shove 'em in the bag and I will hang them up after I get home. I'm a man, after all LOL Anyhow, if they can improve this part of their process, then they will be one of the best stores in the world. I like that I can pay online for everything and get e-receipts instead of a cashier receipt that is about 5 feet long, very convenient. read more

Today I had an interview and went in for a tie, to begin with the ties at first were expensive but then i came to realize they were all 50% off which was great. Then when purchasing the tie, the ladies at the dept. for mens professional outfits complemented me on the taste of tie I got and how well it went with my outfit. I then told them how I couldn't tie the tie and then the ladies offered to help me. Then came a gentleman who not only helped me tie my tie, but steam pressed the tie so there were no wrinkles, as well as gave me advice on my interview and provided me with helpful information when it came to dressing professional. On November 28, 2017 I bought a bracelet at the Topanga store. I picked the bracelet up on November 30, 2017. On December 29, 2017, I looked down at my wrist and the clasp had separated from the bracelet. When I tried to return or exchange the bracelet at the Topanga store, the jewelry supervisor said there was nothing she could do for me, neither to replace nor to repair the bracelet, and because I had not purchased the "Worry No More Protection Plan," I was stuck with this defective bracelet. When one purchases anything at Macy's and it is found to be defective, surely there must be a company policy to keep the customer satisfied and returning to shop for other necessary items. The jewelry supervisor was unnecessarily rude and unaccommodating, certainly not up to what I expect Macy's standards to be. She offered no recourse and gave me no suggestions as to how to resolve this matter, suggesting that Macy's policy gives her no authorization to exchange or return the bracelet, although there were five or six of them in the case and an exchange would have been an easy resolution to the problem Certainly, she could have accepted the bracelet and returned it to the manufacturer as defective, and given me one of the bracelets on display in return. Horrible service and attitude from all the staff especially the fitting room attendant. Older fitting room attendant with short colored hair was extremely rude to me and my girlfriend. She pointed and yelled at me cus I was near the women's fitting room saying I can't come in there when I was not even close to going in. Also told my girlfriend to hurry up because she was taking to long when it only was 5 min and nobody was waiting for a room. Another bad experience with Macy's, this time from their macys.com and trying to return a defective fan I received as a present to the Topanga Plaza. They need an order # to return the item to the store and there is no item number on the packing slip. So I give them all the info and they can't do anything with that. Called several times to the 800# on macys.com and spent 30 minutes with no help either. One of the reasons we pay a higher price to shop at Macy's is for customer service, yet I notice whenever you need customer service they don't provide it. I went to the store today to have a ring I bought online resized. They wanted so bad to do an up sale, they suggested to do a return then buy it again and buy insurance. And I only wanted my ring to be resized. Long story short, the lady in the jewelry department did a return of a price higher than the one I payed, and on the buying payment she was going to charge me even more to buy the same item and wanted me to pay taxes over taxes. Really? Macys, please hire people that know basic arithmetic operations. I told her that made no sense and she wanted to convince me she was right. I asked her to cancel the return. She then gets the tag of the ring and peels off a piece of the tag. I asked her what she was doing and she replied "Taking something out so you don't have problems". Besides not knowing how to do her job is she insinuating something? I got my ring back and I left. And all I wanted was to have the ring I bought at macys, resized. I'm not a big Macy's fun, but now and then I find something that interest me. No more, lost my humble business. No wonder why Macys is closing 100 stores in 2017. read more
