This review is for the Estee Lauder makeup booth inside of Macy's at the Cerritos Mall. As soon as you walk through the doors, you will realize the Christmas season is upon us! Crazy how early is it. I visited on Saturday, November 2nd before my friend's wedding. I came to get my makeup done and decided to go to Estee Lauder because it is my usual go-to before special occasions. HOWEVER, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BREA MALL OVER THE CERRITOS MALL!!!! When I walked up to the Estee Lauder women, neither of them smiled or looked too pleased with having their conversation interrupted. They just told me to have a seat. Obviously, they were not eager to help since they sent another girl over to actually assist me. Deanna was a pleasure to chat with while she did my makeup and she seemed nice. Her personality and talent are the reasons why I'm rating two stars instead of one. My major complaint here is that when she asked me if I wanted false eyelashes, she failed to inform me that they cost $15! To make matters worse, less than one hour after leaving the mall and THREE HOURS before the wedding even started, the false eyelash on my right eye was already coming off... I did not want to remove them because then the eyeliner would have been ruined. I didn't want to walk into the wedding looking like a hot mess train wreck which is pretty unavoidable when your falsie is showing :(( Deanna had reassured me that there was no way that the lash glue would not last all night. Went in this afternoon to make a return at the macys return center and got helped by an employee, by the name of Heni. I was returning two items but I had paid with two different methods. She didn't ask how I had paid for the items and just started returning without saying a word , when I told her how I had paid and how I wanted my money to be returned, she looks at me and gives me the biggest and nastiest eye roll, gives me an attitude and shows me how she's splitting my transactions. I wasn't expecting her to give me an attitude for asking her a simple question. I continued to tell let her know how she rolled her eyes at me and how she gave me an attitude for no reason. when she saw that I was upset , that was when she finally decided to apologize. Thankfully as I was leaving I spotted a manager, they pulled her aside and I suppose he talked to her about the incident. This is very unfo because another employee at the same center by the name of Morena, had also a pretty bad attitud. I don't know why these employees keep on getting away with giving people shitty attitudes and bad customer service. read more

Some of the poorest customer service I've received has been at this specific Macy's. Today, Julie in the ladies shoe department cemented my impression of this store. Julie was working at 7:30pm on Wed 8/10 and her "customer service' was so bad, I had to go back and educate her on the 2 min action she could have taken to improve her service. I suggest that Macy's consider taking a look at people like Julie and these other poorly trained sales reps, with no interest in their jobs and send them through proper training or FIRE them. Having these type of employees is not good business sense. My experience in the shoe department at Nordstrom, on the same day, was the EXACT polar opposite of my experience at Macys. DO BETTER. I went to Macy's to take advantage of the President's Day sales. I was excited to get some new clothes for myself and my niece- unfortunately my shopping experience was ruined by a particularly rude employee, Jasmine. When I asked to see clothes in my size (XL) she made a face and said clothes for "those kind of people" weren't in store. And when I followed up by asking about clothes for my niece, Jasmine then said that the clothes Macy's sold "wouldn't fit your nieces style", whatever that means. I was there to buy a perfume when the sales associate who was helping me and myself noticed a bottle was missing. I then found it and exclaimed to the sales associate that I did when another sales associate came from behind me and snatched it out of my hand. He then got really close to my face and asked if I wanted to smell it. The way he said it had so much attitude and it made me feel like he thought I was some thief. Then the associate comes over and tells him that we were looking for it. Instead of handing it back to me, he reaches over me and gives it to the sales associate. I always shop here and usually get good customer service but never has an employee been so rude and made me feel so stupid than he did today. The entire time after that as I made my purchase, he was standing behind me as if he still thought I was going to steal something. Absolute WORST service by the Sunglass Department on Thursday evening. Two male employees were having the time of their lives while holding an extensive non work related conversation. The female associate was the only one hustling and doing her job while the blue haired male tried so hard to LOOK busy. As we approached and made eye contact with him in hopes to receive assistance, he just looked at us and carried on with the other male associate. At one point he laughed and turned his back on us as we waited to be helped. As we picked up a pair of sunglasses hoping to receive assistance, he turned around and walked the other way towards the female cashier and shuffled some papers and made his hands look busy as he stared aimlessly into the open. Blue haired male associate appeared to float around with no purpose as to appear to not want to be there and when we finally received assistance by the female, her lethargic energy and dead end responses got us nowhere. When we finally said thank you and walked away, she offered to check the back but by then we had already shared the same feeling of not wanting to be there. Lost 4 Ray Ban sales that day. read more

Macy's at Los Cerritos Loss preventions team needs to be careful on who they're "targeting" or "accusing " of stealing . My fiancé and I run several businesses and have no need for the Macy's loss prevention team to follow us around thinking we're out to do something wrong making it so uncomfortable to shop in the mens department. We never shop at Los Cerritos Macy's and the only time we do our experience was very negative. Harassment charges can easily be pressed against the store if they continue to falsely accuse or insinuate people are out to steal based off of looks/assumptions. Once I found the associate, she was completely clueless and didn't know anything either. So basically, I was on my own wandering aimlessly through the store. Eventually I found something I liked but it was in the wrong size and then it was impossible to find my size. The register line was really long, and the cashier had trouble with the promotional email on my phone. Whole experience was a nightmare! read more

I have tried calling Macy's customer service only to be told the phone numbers are not working. I called Corporate in NYC and the young lady said I'll transfer you. Oh she did to a phone no. that wasn't working. I tried their chat to no avail. Since I am from NYC I always thought Macy's was a high end store. Not anymore, the inventory is very limited, their customer service is horrible, if they have one, and if you are sent to another country you can't understand their English. Shopping with your mom on a nice week day should be relaxing and honestly fun. But this Macy's really didn't do that at all. After finding a few items to buy from the store in the ladies section we decided to go and pay for the clothes. The cashier was helping a lady already with her purchase, so we were just waiting and standing by and then all of a sudden this customer with her old husband comes by and ask where are her things. So the cashier lady got a little nervous and starting helping her, while making us stranded. It's ok another lady decided to jump in and help us and she seemed really nice and everything. We paid her and got the things and left, this is on the second floor all the way to the end so we had to walk to the escalator to get back down and exit to the mall. I hate Cerritos for this reason now, I never really paid attention to how bad this mall is mapped out. But it is pretty bad. While trying to leave we end up getting that buzzing alarm sound. I check the bag and of course the security tag was still with the clothes...Yes we did get some exercise but still I wasn't so happy about any of this at all. read more

My family and I shopped here this weekend needing to exchange a few of our daughter's birthday clothing gifts that were either too small or too big. As you can see from my picture taken, there wasn't really much to their little girl's section. Thankfully my daughter is a fan of Hello Kitty because otherwise there weren't many other options to choose from except for a small offering of the GUESS line, Carter's and Beautees t-shirts. I took my time carefully going through the racks to see if there were anything worthwhile and found that a lot of the racks were disheveled and sparse. I practically forced myself to find a pair of Hello Kitty leggings and a Hello Kitty jacket. Not sure if they're in between seasons, so the options are limited or if the store is normally this disorganized. I can't say that I'll be back anytime soon. read more

They need to make sure the people they hire know how to pronounce the brands they are try to suggest to customers. Especially when they are marketing a specific brand I didn't even show any interest in. The "Choo" in Jimmy Choo is not pronounced "shoe". While perfume shopping for a gift, a salesperson kept trying to get me to smell Jimmy's shoes. They smelled like nail polish remover. They have a lot of people working, but no one knows where anything is and the counters were crammed and cluttered. Not a pleasant shopping experience, so we headed to Sephora instead. But at least we got a good laugh about Jimmy's shoes! read more

I usually like Macy's, but this last experience has been horrible.This review is in regards to the Sunglass Hut inside of Macy's I ordered a pair of $400 Christian Dior sunglasses from the store. I was told I wasn't able to get a discount on the sunglasses, then I found another store that said "yes, we do offer that discount." It was another Sunglasses Hut. This wasn't even the most aggravating part. I have returned the sunglasses to Macy's and I have still not received my refund because it was an online order and I returned the sunglasses in store...Is that a joke? Customer service has not been helpful. Macy's Sunglass Hut offers horrible customer service. I spoke with the managers there and they just didn't want to help and weren't able to assist me getting a refund. I have been dealing with this for about 5 weeks. Customer care is very difficult and the managers didn't want to assist. I would think that being such a reputable company, the Sunglass Hut managers would want to assist, but they just kept shrugging their shoulders and saying they didn't know when I'd get my money. I had a horrible customer service experience in the home department. While having my purchase rung up, I asked the lady assisting me (edelmina) if she could help me out with gift wrapping. Sidebar - I wouldn't have asked for such a favor if I hadn't already been offered by someone in a different department to wrap my purchase (I was actually shopping more while waiting for my wrapping to be finished) She then rudely told me no we don't gift wrap, (I was still not necessarily irked because it was a different department) and I mentioned that another department offered to gift wrap my earlier purchase, she then said again no, the whole store doesn't gift wrap, that's not possible. (...okay thanks for making me feel like I'm taking advantage and making stuff up ) I walked away from the counter slightly embarrassed and back to the other department to pick up my wrapped gift and the ladies over there said sorry for my experience and offered to wrap the purchase I got from the home area Just a tip to anyone working in customer service, it's not nice to infer that your patrons are liars read more

I went to the store on 11/24 to purchase some kitchen items. As I couldn't able to find them I asked for help. Cashier lady told that she will help me after she finish with another customer. After few minutes another lady joined the cashier and asked to join a long line. She should have told me to come in a different line in the beginning it self. I've been going to this Macy's since they were still called The Broadway. This is like your typical Macy's, however, they do have a larger selection in their mens department than most other places. Rather than being delegated a corner of the department store, the mens department actually takes up a little more than half the first floor. Kind of unheard of in mid-scale department stores. They used to have an electronics section on the third floor back then that retained its 1960s decor well into the 90s. My family bought a huge (at the time) 55" television back in 1990 and we were the envy of all our friends. My family also gets invited to the department store events, like Casino night or the Christmas party because we were one of the larger spenders, if not, the largest spender, at this particular location through most of the 1990s. I was too young to really appreciate the exclusivity of it all. Nowadays, I buy things here occasionally. Macy's Cerritos is convenient for gift buying and tends to have a large amount of its merchandise on sale. I actually got a $25 gift card in the mail from the general manager after complaining about the attitude I received from an associate. He apologized and offered to meet me. What service! I used it to get a price adjustment on the item I had just bought. read more

Tis the season for deals and of course Macy's.com had a few during Black Friday that I took part of. In addition for the online sales after, I also took bought something. I am giving this place 3 stars for letting me return it, but if I could give Macy's.com a rating, it'd be close to a 0. 3 problems that came about. #1. Bought some small appliances with rebates that included a rice cooker and a waffle maker. Bought online, came with a rebate. Picked up the items on the bottom floor near the shoes for online orders. The guy behind the counter was nice enough to redo the transaction so I can submit the order separately. I followed the rules and submitted both rebates in separate envelops. Long story short, rebate never came nor confirmed. Bait and Switch. However, the guy behind the counter at least was okay with me returning my items, even with the UPC cut out for rebates. #2. Bought a soap and was told to have $10 Macy's cash with my transaction. Free shipping too! However, try to open my order page and guess what? No Macy's cash. On top of this problem, the counter person couldn't find my order based on my order number. Really strange right? More Bait and Switch perhaps? #3. I paid the above with a Gift Card. After deducting the amounts I paid for the items, the gift card balance was $5.11 shorter than expected? I have no idea how, or why. I just know now, maybe I should buy separately and charge on my CC instead so when I have problems, at least I have someone to back me up. So returning items to this location was not so bad. I'm just not too happy being shorted for my time and my gift card for items that I originally should've gotten some money back. At least I wouldn't have returned 2 of the 3 items. I have been coming here to Los Cerritos Macys from back in the days when they were also on the other side of the mall. I can't say I would recommend buying here, but at least returning items wasn't terribly difficult. read more

The girl from sunglasses hut (red hair) didn't even bother trying to scan my GIFT receipt to exchange some glasses. Super policy driven, didn't bother trying to help me out because my other purchase receipt was 37 days old....I ended up going to the Lakewood location where they gladly helped me out, helped me pick out frames I liked. Unfortunately, those frames were only available in the Cerritos location so I had to process my return there onto a gift card and drive BACK to Cerritos for the frames. EXCELLENT PHONE customer service today from MYRA! Listen when I tell you she went above and beyond to help me, I was just so happy and impressed! I found a jacket in store over the holidays and decided to go home and do more research on what exactly I wanted- but I took 2 photos of the jacket thinking it would help me find it later. Not so much. I didn't know I would need the UPC number. Anyway after almost a month of online searching with no success, I started calling various Macys to see if anyone would be help find the exact jacket. Some Macys phone rang with no answer, others I got hung up on after being placed on hold, and just as I was giving up my search I called Cerritos Mall and Myra came to my rescue. Not only was she pleasant and professional, she took the time to ask me to describe the jacket, give her whatever information I had, and she looked it up online and gave me 6 different jacket UPC numbers to search for to see if I could recognize it! All with a pleasantness that was very appreciated as I recognize my ask was a tall order. NEVER NEVER shop at any Macys!! They will cheat you. After an excruciating experience at the cashier, I cancelled within 24 hours. They assured me the "pending" deposit would be cancelled within 3 days. As of 5 days later it was billed to my credit card. Customer Service showed the sales check cancelled but DID NOT refund the deposit automatically. It is ridiculous and I consider it fraud for any company not to return money automatically. Why should the customer have to chase them down?!?! They continued to give me a run a round and waiting for a Supervisor has taken over 30 minutes and still waiting. So I decided to stop by the Cerritos Macy's location looking for a men's fragrance that other stores didn't carry at the moment and the most awkward thing happened. I walked directly to the Dior fragrance counter since I knew what I was looking for and while browsing I was approached by a lady who spoke to me in Spanish. Mind you, I hadn't spoken at all so this person had no idea about my background. I turned and looked at her puzzled. While that awkward silence was going on, I was approached by a second lady who spoke to me in English and I automatically responded cordially and promptly. I went ahead and expressed to her what I was looking for. She went ahead and looked for the item I wanted, but unfortunately they didn't have it. A bummer. Now, let's address the elephant in the room because it keeps getting bigger. To the lady that spoke to me in Spanish, I could've easily turned and told you that for the record I did speak Spanish.
