My name is Esmeralda and I'm a regular customer in the area and I work around the area. I am a customer from this company for over 30 years. Today l stopped by the store and l was interested to shop in 3 different departments. First l stopped by the perfume area planning to buy perfumes for me and my husband. I seen a hispanic lady talking and greeting other customers around. I wasn't asked if l needed any help. Then l went to the other side of the perfume store and two other associates busy looking at themselves in the mirror. Next to the perfumes other female associate in the computer. Just look at me and I was ignored again. Went upstairs look at dresses seen 2 other Asian associates. Not even seeing excuse me passing me by with go backs. Back to the other side of the store in shoes. Same story. I felt so bad bad that l exited the store without buying anything and asking my self. Is it because how l look that l don't have qualifications to shop with them or they thought l can afford to buy their products. No idea. I hope you take this in consideration for other customers and to have the opportunity to make your sales and have customers satisfied and happy to come back after the holidays to your store. I was lucky enough to ve helped by a shiseido representative named Izzy on my recent visit to Macys Cerritos. Izzy greeted me with a very warm hello and asked me how she could help. Her knowledge or Shiseido products was amazing and impressed me greatly! During the visit she shared new products with me and helped me pick out some items from a line that focused on my skins needs. She even offered me help over myclient if I had any questions or concerns outside of the store. Her overall service was a perfect 10 in every way! Maybe even a 30 or 40 or...100! I am not surprised malls and large department stores are going out of business. I waited at least 20 minutes to check out at the juniors department. There is no one to help you and no one to help the guy to check out the line of 5 people. He wasn't slow or anything but he did open a new line of credit, processed an online order and a return for a person plus a new transaction which took a very long long time. This Macy's is terribly understaffed! I regret wasting time at this location. It is a larger store and there are 3 different levels, but that's even more of a reason to be well staffed. Our wait times were ridiculous at every counter we tried to get some help from. As for finding an associate on floor? Forget it. No associate at the fitting rooms. No associates out on the floor. Two cashiers at 2 checkout stands out of 4, on level 2. Took us 40 minutes to ask someone a question! The overall wait was ridiculous. If you're going in for perfume or makeup, those areas are possibly overstaffed but they are not Macy's employees that work for the brand companies. read more

I was a bit disappointed in their Home selection. I felt like it was one of the smallest I've seen at any Macy's I've been to. Also, the perfume section is so supersaturated with airborne samples, that I got a headache just walking through it. Plain and simple, this is the entrance I always take coming to Cerritos Center. The perfume / cologne staff, understood its your job to sale especially now during 'Holiday Season'. This alone won't give the right to spray perfume in front on people faces to get an attention. People are just not interested in buying unless it's for a special occasion. I tend to get allergy to perfumes with highly alcohol based concentrate rather than oil. Well thanks to this woman I got the worst allergy/ migraine on my way home. While driving!! This review is for the furniture department. Don't waste your time. We spent 20 minutes or more waiting for someone to help us. We went to place our order and the delivery cost seemed high. Employee said he would call customer service the next day to check on it and call me back. I had to call him back and he didn't have an answer. I called back the next day and he was not working so I asked for another employee who we had talked to briefly once before. She was due in later and was to call us back. No call. No one ever called us back. I placed my order online with another store and was treated very nice. The employees that we worked with, de Sandra and Darren need some further customer service and follow up training or Macy's won't be selling much furniture if people have to deal with them. read more

OMG, I was looking for a dress for a wedding and thought I would try Macy's. I felt like I was at the GOODWILL or some other discount store. They had plenty of dresses however, not one had the size on the hanger, they were just thrown in together stuffed on racks. If you found the tag you could get the size, no organization to the mess at all. If I wanted to dig through a sale rack I would have went to a thrift store. Maybe I'm a bit biased here, but Macy's has always been one of my favorite stores whenever I come to the mall. Now, I'm not a mall person. Matter of fact, I hate going to the mall. If I have to go, for some reason, this is one of the stores I always have to visit and just browse around. This Macy's is always clean. My review is for the Men's Fragrance department. I was helped by a gentleman "Greg" I was told was his name. Bald, African American, Very well dressed, in a suit. He was very nice at first and led me to some men colognes. Gave me some options and I decided for one (YSL) . I did tell him upfront that I wanted a nice shopping bag for the gift. So he wrapped it up, and turned out looking like a Christmas gift. I told him I wanted a nice gift bag and he said he only had Versace bags so if I wanted one I'd have to purchase Versace. So I did just that! I asked to smell the Versace cologne and opted for one that smelled way better than the YSL. He was furious!!! I don't know if he had a quota to meet by selling YSL over Versace cologne but he made it very clear that he was not having it! He told his colleague while tossing the cologne into a bag "All this Sh*** over a damn Bag" I obviously told him I heard that and it was not only the bag but the Versace smelled way better. Lastly when I asked for puffy paper to go in the bag, the lady walked over to get me the white Plain paper and he stopped her. As most of you may know, MAC cosmetics are sold at Macy's and usually have their own kiosk station along with familiar friends Benefit, Lancome, Chanel, and Estee Lauder. I particularly prefer going to the MAC booth in Macy's rather than the actual MAC store because the makeup MAC girls are a little more friendly, more helpful, less stuck up than the caked-up, matte, "Yeah I look hot with 8 pounds of make up on my face" hipster girls who think they are the shit. So remember: Macy's MAC over MAC store. I was running low on my normal, everyday MAC blot powder and went for a refill. The West Covina Macy's was currently out of stock. While going to the Cerritos area to visit a friend, I stopped by the Cerritos Mall Macy's. It was my first time in that Macy's and it was clean, well lit, and had 3 floors. Pretty huge, larger than the typical mall Macy's. Walking through the cosmetics/fragrance area I saw the familiar brands; Benefit, Chanel, Lancome, the usual. I was nearing the clothes section and still NO SIGN of MAC. Was this possible? Is this the only Macy's without a MAC booth?! What the heezy. I walked around for the second time just to make sure I wasn't having a dumb girl moment, but NO! Still NO sign of MAC. I found this utterly weird and highly disappointing! Of all the Macy's, I was surprise that this rather large one did not have a MAC booth. Ugh! What a waste of time. This is the worst Macy's ever (especially when I only go to Macy's for make up and the times I'm super bored and have energy to kill to rummage through their racks and racks of stained, torn, and XXL size clothes). Went in recently to purchase some cosmetics and was pretty appalled by the service. The ladies at the Estee Lauder counter, to be exact, were totally rude. At first, I was ignored while they stood around chit chatting with each other. I had to approach one of them and ask for help. By this point, I was beyond annoyed. I mean, ifI'm walking around your damn counter and looking at things and not leaving, I think that's a big hint I might actually want to purchase something! Clinique at Macy's (Cerritos location) I wish yelp has negative star option too. I can tell you the employees at Clinique are very very rude and put false information on the receipt. Everything was okay until I was paying for the product (I knew exactly what I wanted, so the lady really did not helped me). When I was paying for the product, I asked the lady if there is any eye cream samples that I can get. All of sudden, she gave me this cold look and said do not have any samples. So I asked her again then if she has any face lotion samples. She did not even look at me and said "No we don't. but what do you want". so I told her any oil free product sample will be great. Then she got out a little green cap jar which I have no idea what it was and put it in the bag without any explanation. Also she never smiled once either said thank you. I felt very frustrated and was thinking "Did I ask something that I should have NOT asked?" I am not a person who goes crazy with freebies. I simply wanted to try more Clinique products before I buy them. I do not understand why she was acting so rude and cold. Few days later, I had to return the product since the cream did not suit for my skin. That day, they lady who I assisted me wasn't there. Another lady was there and she smiled at the first site, but when I took out the product to return it, her smile was gone just like other lady... And guess what, she said I can't return the product because I received for free sample package which i never received. She showed me the receipt and it was marked as I received a sample package. I explained to her that I did not receive a sample package, but only received a tiny green jar which I had no idea what was in it. She looked at me as if I was lying...Anyway, I got my money back after arguing with this lady for 30 minutes. I felt I was mistreated. Horrible customer service and very rude. The receipt does not say that I cannot return the product. It says I can return it if I am not 100% satisfied. So please don't try to make your own return policy. Please don't put wrong information on the receipt. You did not even give a proper sample. Smile and greet customers. Can you not say hello,thank you and bye? Huge disappointment. I will never buy anything from this Clinique neither this Macy's. I want to tell ladies to don't buy from this Clinique. If you must, go to Sephora. It is real shame that Clinique and Macy's hired these impolite and rude people for their employees. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PHONE- I purchased a pair of boots on 12/27/14 from the Lakewood, CA store. I wore them for the first time today, 12/31/14, and after wearing them for a short time (about 15 minutes), started to experience a sharp stab from something in the heel. Took them off to discover a screw coming up from the heel and the cushioning/lining was tearing up from it. I called the Lakewood store to be sure they had a pair to exchange for me. I was placed on hold for 25 minutes, eventually being told that the Cerritos store had a pair and that they would call to have them held for me. Great! Another 16 minutes on hold and eventually hung up to call Cerritos myself. Same run-around. Went through 6 hold-cycles, called the operator, got transferred to a different department 2 floors away, and eventually settled for leaving my name and number with an associate that promised to take the information to the correct department and have them call me back. Still waiting... 58 minutes into this fiasco. I don't plan to ever shop Macy's again. Should the need arise, I will resort to online shopping and avoid all of the hassle and anger that always accompanies my store experience with the associates. read more

Cecilia and 3 other clerks at hand bags Dept. were not happy when I returned that " Guess " brand beautiful teal floral bag with lots of zipped section on each side and many inner pockets which has been the best design I've purchased so far but the major defect is it won't stand still on table or on passenger side seat in my car. The attitude of Macy's clerks surprise me. She comment twice: "this bag will stand but it is much much more expensive." When she showed me another real bag. Four stars for the Women's Shoe Department. ONLY. The woman who helped me was so friendly and totally let me do my own thing. I don't need someone following me around as I awkwardly try on 20 pairs of shoes. I only need help when I need someone to grab me the matching shoe from the back.. She was really informative about the pre-sale thingamajig Macy's is doing (spend $50, put your stuff on hold now and buy it later for $10 off). Now the bags department is a whole 'nother story. The two women here were seriously distrusting of my interest in several Coach bags. Hello, I really was going to buy one. But I'm not going to spend 2 bills on something I'm not completely satisfied with. They were unhelpful when I asked about other colors and the availability of the bags at other stores. Came here last Friday because I needed some Anastasia Beverly Hills products and some Nars blush. Unfortunately they don't carry ABH, or Nars, or even MAC (although they do carry Estee Lauder). Luckily there's a MAC counter inside the mall and a Sephora that carries these brands. It's dingy like most Macy's, the associate are apathetic but I don't blame them. This Macy's location has seriously gone down in quality. -the fitting rooms are filthy! (pubic hairs on the benches, huge dust and dirt piles in the fitting room stalls) -employees are not helpful and stand around talking to each other about what they did last night (even the older women were doing this) -crowded I even asked one of the employees where their customer service desk was so I could tell them about the condition of the fitting rooms and she looked at me confused. They don't even have customer service! So I told her about the pubic hairs and overall filth that I saw in the fitting rooms and she did not seem to care at all. I came here to exchange a pair of diamond earrings and holy cow- the fine jewelry salesgirl was so incredibly helpful! I was basically being one of those annoying customers and nitpicking on every option she brought out (the earrings are for my mom, I want them to be absolutely perfect WHAT), but that girl kept a patient smile on and kept on showing me options. I left with a pair of much better quality diamond studs and a very positive attitude. I'm taking a star off for the attitude of the girl upstairs in houseware, though (honey child, don't give me a snobby attitude while you're wearing patterned leggings). This is a review for the home and appliance and dishware department. There was an advertised sale online, I went to the store but the items that were advertised weren't ringing up. The salea associate had no idea why it wasn't, went to get her co-worker both were stumped. In the end they figured it out and were so helpful and apologetic that it wasn't working at first. I like Macy's okay. For some reason I feel more comfortable going here rather than Nordstrom. I've been buying Clinique shaving cream and after shave lotion since college (I have such sensitive skin!) and this is where I go to get it. I sometimes wonder if I'm the only guy in the county who buys it because the sales women always look surprised when I ask for it. So I like Macy's for always having my shaving supplies and good deals on men's clothes from time to time. But then I had this exchange at the counter that sells high-end watches this past weekend. Me: I really like this watch but the band is too large for my wrist. Saleswoman: Oh, no problem, we can shorten it for you right here. Me: Really? Saleswoman: Sure, we can have it ready in a few minutes Me: Okay, I'll take it. (I pay for it and she takes the watch and disappears to a back room. She returns in five minutes). I ran into Justin and I told him my situation he asked me to wait and he went to the back rooms or storage to look, while waiting my daughter was a lil bummed because she thought we weren't gonna find it Justin comes out and says he had no luck he then looks at her and tells me let me try looking in one more place and sure enough he found one!!! Came here to buy some Marc Jacob sunglasses, and they really didn't have that much of a selection. I was in a great need of a pair, and quickly, so I settled on a very nice looking pair. The folding parts of the glasses felt very flimsy and you could tell they were in need of a tightening, so I asked them if they could tighten it for me. The girl walked away came back 1 minute later, saying that these type of glasses couldn't be tightened? Okay. I purchased them anyway, and then they were out of the cases! Damn dude! Now i have to come back and get my case! by the way, I got home and was able to tighten them myself! HAHA! read more
