Was hoping this Macy's would have a lot to choose from but it was disappointingly small in terms of women's apparel. Three floors: top floor is housewares and children's. second floor is all women's apparel, which seems a lot but when you think of all the categories (juniors, woman, lingerie, activewear, dresses, petities etc) squeezed into one non-so high-square-footage floor, it's ehh. Lower floor is men's, shoes, cosmetics and handbags. The upside: easy to find fitting rooms and price checkers, and you can walk around the whole floor in a minute... Just in case you were looking for the escalator or a runaway child. read more

This location in particular is not good. I've never really liked Macy's but I was buying a gift for someone and of course after taking a while to find boots she liked they didn't have her size in stock so she settled which is not cooI. I find this a growing problem with my clothing needs at department stores so I'd say this type of service has me literally buying 2/3s of my clothes online. Stores like Macy's are shooting themselves in the foot with service like this. My husband and I walked over to the mall after having dinner at BJ's and decided to look for a new comforter set at Macys. The lady in the bedding department was so nice!! She tried to help me in every way possible at the checkout to insure the bedding I chose was all in the packaging, there were no rips or seams coming undone, as well as tried to get me the best deal with coupons she could (even though it didn't work on my purchase since it was already a special prices item) I just thought she was fantastic and such a nice person I had to write a review! I always go in to this macys because everyone is so nice in the Cosmetics department! they are always helpful and never too pushy. my favorite counter is Benefit and Clinique! the Girls do a great job at applying make up! I highly recommend coming here. Susan at the Benefit counter is also the ultimate best and she knows what she is doing. :) read more

Soraya M in the jewelry department was so helpful. She was the most patient salesperson I've worked with in a long time. I needed a tungsten ring for my husband and time was of the essence. She did all she could to find the right ring. She used catalogs, went online, asked around etc. She spent so much time helping me that other staff kept asking her if she needed assistance. Only after she exhausted all of her resources, she pointed me in the direction of someone she thought could help in the mall. This is actually for Macy.com I ordered 4 corrugated raised garden beds with bottoms and legs. I received 4 without the bottom and legs. I call and I'm on hold waiting to talk to somebody for three hours then that person ends up transfer me to the Escondido branch where they're not open and I get voicemail. Then it disconnects so I have to call back again and I'm on hold for 45 minutes waiting to talk to somebody. They agreed to send me the correct item. So today I received four new corrugated raised garden beds WITH OUT the bottom.. They sent me the same ones that were wrong in the first place. How incompetent does a company need to be. so I was on the phone again today for over an hour waiting to talk to somebody. They don't know anything they're just customer service. I just canceled the order and now I have to take eight of these heavy boxes over to UPS and send them back before I can get my $303 refund. I thought Macy's was supposed to be a high end department store. NOT!!!!! beware of buying anything online from Macy's! read more

I shop the men's section near the south entrance to the store. There is alway great customer service from this nice woman who works there!

This place has the worst and tiniest plus size selection of any Macy's I've been too, even though the brand has a fairly decent selection online. Everything is matronly cut with bad patterns. It's shoved up by the kids section in this tiny corner that is probably the smallest department in the entire three story store. Mom needed a formal dress. Despite a massive selection in "normal" sizes, absolutely no formal attire in the plus sized department, just some (ugly) casual and businesswear. I work at this mall, so I walk around the place a lot. Let me tell you, the plus sized and size inclusive (regular, petite, and plus sizes) shops tend to be very busy. And I've seen better plus size selections at smaller Macy's. I'm guessing that the person who runs this one has some sort of problem with plus sized women. Be better. read more

When you arrive to this location from Via Rancho parkway, you find Macy's to the left, with convenient front door parking. Upon arriving inside they have a fair selection of products when you wander down the cramped isles. The store is easy to get lost in and hard to query for your specific item. When you do find your merchandise, it's often priced for more money then one would expect and a little bit more than it's worth. The store itself: 3 stars, because it's not the most organized. Moving on, I would like to rate prior experiences with the employees: I find most of the employees are more aloof and not as friendly as one would expect from a retail establishment, but most of them preform satisfactorily; if that is, you make an effort to engage one of them with conversation. I am basing this rating off the lady who works with colognes; First of all, when encountered, she gave me a stare that told me she didn't think I could afford the product. The way she voiced herself when I asked for the price only confirmed my suspicions and this made my Macy's experience uncomfortable for me. I made an effort and talked to her about the product which she did respond enthusiastically too, and I told her I would buy it. She then gave me an astonished look, that left me feeling slightly agitated, but I said nothing of it. On the other hand, in the shoe section, the man who works there seems aloof and uncaring, but he did go through the motions and behaved like you would expect, so he did the bare minimum. Employees: 3 stars, because they didn't do anything special, but mostly met my expectations. Overall a 2 star experience, because really this place isn't anything special even if they seem to think it is. read more

Kathy in the children's section has helped me a few times and each time she has demonstrated stellar customer service. I worked in retail and customer service for many years through high school, college, and know that no matter how much training a store does, customer service boils down to each individual's personality. It is really difficult to find service-oriented people willing to work at or little above minimum wage, so while I expect great service, I understand when I get average (which happens more often than not). I've also received excellent service from other departments, and I love the great deals here (even if you don't have a coupon with you, if you mention that you know about it and have a Macy's card they often have one at the register you can use). I don't expect the immaculte state or brand names that Nordstrom offers--that would kind of be like comparing a Toyota to a Jaguar--but compared to my experiences at other Macy's locations (UTC is the first one that comes to mind), I'd say this one is pretty darn good! read more

Unfortunatly, I was late with the last bill. It slipped through and was not paid in the month due. Macy's senT another bill with doubling what the balance was + interest. I will never use their Credit Card again. I told the woman in credit that what Macy's does is obscene. If I have to really shop there it will be when H--LL freezes over. Store has gone downhill over the past 2 years. Sales associates are hard to find, inventory is slim and unorganized. They have a fraction of the Temecula and Oceanside mall's selections. I live in Escondido, and it makes me sad that my once favorite store is being mismanaged like this. read more

I had two gift cards totaling $50. I had a tough time finding clothes that were reasonably priced and that I liked. Clothes often seem smashed together and messy. I didn't enjoy shopping there today. I actually preferred the clothes and prices at JC Penny in the same mall. JC Penny also has Sephora which is a more affordable but good makeup line. I have also found cute clothes at the Nordstrom Rack, Ross, Kohl's and Steinmart in Poway and believe that their prices are much more reasonable. read more

Terrible experience with Ina at the Estee Lauder counter. She was rude and dismissive - even walking away from me in a huff, rolling her eyes. Why? Because I dared to ask about a promotion that was running for the holidays. I guess she decided that I wasn't really interested in spending money and just wanted something "free." Definitely NOT the case, but given her attitude, I wouldn't buy anything from her, if she was the last sales person on Earth! She was even rude to co-workers and snapped at one of them, when they greeted me, saying "I was helping her." Uh...no, you weren't. Unless by "helping" me, you meant helping me leave as quickly as possible, never to return when you're there! I was so embarrassed! Turns out, she's a MANAGER at that counter! Why does Macy's have someone like this working with the public? I'm sure Nordstrom says thanks. read more

When it comes to plus sizes, you CAN find a lot on liine... but not in the store... Plus sizes for women are shoved way back in a corner on the third floor. and limited at that. I guess they feel we need the exercise. I found a wide selection of handbags on the main floor.. very nice.. Shoe dept is limited and no one to help you yesterday.... Yet today; Wed. at about 3:30 there was a young lady there. I was looking for a slip on loafer by Alfani, but that was not available in the store, I wanted gloves for a trip. I asked the girl to tell me where the gloves are. She said "I don't know... this is the SHOE Dept" REALLY? Did I have stupid written on my forehead? .. I wandered around and found the gloves dept (on the second floor) Bought the Ralph Lauren gloves and left... love the gloves and I will order the loafers on line... It would have been nice to try them on, but they are good about making exchanges. read more
