This is for a horrible experience in the shoe department. Went to check out a pair of Ralph Lauren boots, had to hunt down a sales person who then handed my inquiry off to another sales person who had to ask me my size no once but three times. I asked him to get the sizes and he said they would be right out, he then tried to pressure me into getting a macy's card even before I put on my first pair of boots. I asked him to pull me some like styles but he pretty much just walked off and I had to get my own shoes!!! Auwful! There is a reason I prefer Nordstroms to this horrible store anyday!! read more

Out of all the times I've been to Macy's I've never been so impressed with an associates costumer service ! James from the men's underwear department went above and beyond in assisting us and had so much patience on helping us resolve our issue. We were in the jewelry department looking for my rings and we had the pleasure of meeting Julie. Speaking to Julie feels like catching up with an old friend, she's super funny and helpful and won't pressure you into anything that you don't want unlike other jewelers we've been to who were extremely pushy. Julie seemed to understand what I wanted and whichever piece I was eyeing in the display, she'd know exactly which one I liked. I'm one of those crazies who are intimidated by diamonds, while others love the sparkle, I hate it! Julie pointed me in the direction of white sapphire while I was thinking of aquamarine. I ended up with Julie's recommendation and she picked out the most brilliant wedding band to go with it. I'm in love with my rings and also maybe a little bit in love with Julie. Will be visiting her for all my jewelry needs from here on out! read more

Posting a review to praise the Fine Jewelry Dept. at the Glendale Galleria store. I purchased a gold and diamond tennis bracelet that for some reason (after a few months) developed a problem with the clasp. After consulting with sales staff Sarkis and Gayane -- who worked very hard to resolve the issue -- the Department Manager Lina solved the problem by replacing the problematic bracelet with an identical piece that has so far been trouble free. I also purchased a WorryNoMore Policy so now if something else should occur over the next few years, it will be covered. Very happy with the experience. Most people who have never worked retail as I have don't know what it's really like dealing with obnoxious, demanding, arrogant, rude and stupid customers that these Macy's workers have to deal with. It is a customer who also needs to be patient, polite and understanding. In return, you get treated accordingly most of the time. I have given a 3 star for this Macy's because of the somewhat neglected and dated decor within the store which can use some dusting and maintenance. Especially within the women's fitting area that is often messy. I just think that a manager should spend his energy trying to teach solutions to its employees rather than talking openly about how the store is really struggling with not generating enough business, sales goals not being met. That kind of talk should be reserved or held in a more private manner and not infront of bunch of customers. Overall, Macy's appears to be heading towards a slow downfall and extinction due to online companies that offer fast shipping with cheaper prices. This is solely based on personal observation and recent readings. Things can always change for the better. But this Macy's can certainly improve in aesthetics as it is slowly falling behind the more modern competition. read more

This Macy's should be sued. I purchased a purse and changed my mind a few hours later so I decided to go back and return it. I hadn't even taken it out of the bag. I got there and I wish I caught her name, but when I asked the sales associate in the purse department to return it, she started using curse words in Armenian about me to her Armenian coworker right next to her!!!!!! Not realizing I am Armenian and I understood everything!!! She called me a crazy bitch in Armenian for wanting to return my purse! She was a older Armenian lady with very light blonde hair which was short, she had glasses on and she was short. I will be calling corporate about this. If you have a lot of free time on your hands and love digging through ton of unsorted inventory, this Macy's is your kind of store. You can spend hours scouting through piles of disorganized clothes. When you finally find what you want, you can do some more digging in their dressing rooms because you'll have more than plenty of stuff in there hanging on hooks and laying on benches. If you decide to buy something, you will need a little bit of luck locating an open cash register. Usually there is only one register open for each floor. You will also discover that the sales people at this store are very slow. They are as slow as a 95 y.o. partially blind person writing a check to a supermarket cashier. These people hate their job and all of you bother them. They would greet you with "i wish you were dead" expression on their face. Today i was waiting in line 15 minutes while one customer was served. This lady had a ton of some sort of coupons that were not even valid or something, and we all were standing there waiting for one sales person to look up these coupons in some books, call somewhere, wait for someone to answer. She acted like we were not even there waiting in line. Forget about it. There was no sign of them opening another register, so after 15 minutes of this crap i just left. read more

Like every Macys, customer service are a hit/miss sort of thing. I don't expect much from Macys especially in terms of getting assistance but this store is so cluttered and the clothes are so tightly put on each rack especially those on clearance I can barely pull it out to look at the items. I shopped in the men's section and it's a challenge just to walk through the store with so much merchandise. Retail 101 is to put clothes on rack with enough space so customer can get to it but they seem to forget that. read more

This Macy's is one of the nicer ones I have been to. Carry lots of selections and have tons of workers on the weekends. I have always been asked if I need help and often more then once. Great deals especially if your using the macys card. Overall if you like other Macy's stores you will like this one. read more

What can I say about Macy's. Another department store with underpaid employees with high turnover. I get my cologne here once a year which is almost as expensive as my car payment now (Freakin dolce and gabbana...give a beach towel at least with my $200 cologne purchase instead of that damn shower gel which I don't use). We stood waiting to exchange some shoes for almost an hour, they said the shoes were ready and then we waited another 15 minutes, then we got the shoes and waited once again for 20 more minutes. I'll admit they were probably very busy but we were first in line forever and they helped 4 people before us that came up after us. Why bother making a line if you're not going to follow it? We talked to them about it with 4 people before they finally came around to helping us. This is strictly for the makeup section in Macy's I came in to do a facial of makeup... after no one had given me a call back for my appointment. Neil in Chanel had 15 minutes to leave but still managed to squeeze me in. After being told that I would not get my facial done by one of his coworkers it was clear that Neil would be willing to do the job regardless of the time frame. On the other hand his coworker gave so much attitude and told me that I would have to wait up to an hour and a half if I wanted to wait but that I would not be able to wait at the chair stations. If I could give this store zero starts I would! My boyfriend went shopping here earlier today and was followed the entire time. From the moment he walked in he was followed despite having nothing to hide. And if your wondering his race yes, he's a black man, 6ft and 250 so for some reason that screams thief despite not doing anything but searching for clothes. Every time he went into the dressing room he was followed or watched yet no one asked if he ever needed help!!!!!! You guys never made the effort to even help him but automatically felt the need to follow him to make sure he wasn't stealing anything. I'm sure in the midst of you following him someone else was actually stealing and they probably weren't black but bc they weren't black you completely dismissed the possibility. Macy's has slowly lost its appeal over the years and this is one of the main reasons I will never shop at Macy's bc the discrimination within this companies practice is so high and for some reason goes unnoticed. I've read some of the bad reviews here, I am a regular Macy's customer and I know the drill. The floor gets messy on busy days from high traffic, associates are busy attending to the customers and don't have as much time to maintain the floor. Staff could be rude and seem neglectful, that's true. But they're generally helpful is you ask. Credit department has to be dealt with over the phone and is irrelevant to a specific store, so that review is invalid yet may assist you if you are hesitant to open a credit card with Macy's. If you are responsible enough to manage a credit card, the Macy's card always offers coupons to card holders! SO let's get to the point, the prices are great! It's hard to find quality items for decent prices these days, everything is made with cheap fabric and cheap materials but Macy's always has great bargains. I love to shop at Macy's especially on One Day Sales, you can really get a lot for your money here! read more

They have a lot of stuff in this Macy's and it's pretty organized for a Macy's. The biggest problem here is the fitting room situation. Usually at Macy's you can try on whatever you want and as much as you want. Here, they only allows 6 items. Pain. The fitting room employee was incredibly rude. Now, I know I'm not the only one that felt EXTREMLY uncomfortable at the Lancome counter at Macy's in Glendale Galleria. My mom and I went shopping there to get a product my mom saw in a catalog. I wasn't dressed up or anything.. I mean.. we didn't look our best.. but why can't we be in our comfortable clothes when we're shopping right??? We couldn't really remember the name of the product.. and I guess it was the day when a sales lady from the Lancome Office was there. ( I heard her telling another lady she's from one place to another.) When I told her my mom couldn't remember the name, and tried to explain what it was.. she was just so rude. I mean.. Aren't those people supposed to be nicer if they want to sell their product? She was like "Well what is it that you want?? I don't understand what you are looking for." in that mean tone of voice.. just like we didn't belong there or something.. I did try to explain but not like she really cared or anything. And it felt like as if we couldn't afford anything expensive.. maybe the reason she didn't want to bother spending time with us.. It was a very uncomfortable feeling.. (although we ended up buying products from a different sales rep. maybe a couple more than planned just to show her(?) we were actually there to make quite a few purchases.)
