RE: MACY'S MEN STORE. This store is a couple miles from where I've lived for 20 years. I've shopped here once or twice a year for many years. Tonight I was in the store for 90 minutes, and not until the last ten minutes did anyone ask if they could help me. The store wasn't busy, there were plenty of employees; a few checking customers out at registers, but many more looking at their smart phones and having "chatty," non-work related conversations with co-workers. Very unprofessional. There was a time when a single salesperson would help me from shortly after arriving until checkout. I would usually purchase two or three times what I purchased this evening. They had a very large selection with some great prices and had the kenneth cole jeans I was looking for. I went shopping yesterday afternoon and I was in the women's clothing section 6th floor. When I was done with my shopping there were only a few cashiers available. Since I was in a hurry I went to a cashier that did not have a lot of people waiting. There were only about three customers. While I was waiting the female cashier was super friendly with the 2 customers that were in front of me. While the cashier was taking care of them she was chatting about several topics ie: weather, super bowl, parking, etc... when it was the turn of customer #3 she was rude and she was in complete "mute" during her transaction. When it was my turn, she was completely "mute" as well and did not even say "hello". I was very surprised but since I was in hurry I did not have time to share this with the store manager. The funny part was that after I paid with my Macy's card she suddenly spoke and said "if you can help by sharing a good feedback about me in a survey." I was in complete shock! How can she ask for a positive feedback after she practically discriminated me by not being friendly and ethical by at least saying "hi". I need to look for the receipt to find her name. If you're wondering why you are all getting your ass handed to you by Amazon, here's why. I ordered one item, ONE, a full week before Christmas. Said item was available in a Macy's in the same city as me, but since the Holidays and mall shopping are akin to Dante's 6th circle, I opted for delivery. Instead of shipping it from the store that was about 7 miles from me, you chose to ship it two days later from somewhere in Kansas, and currently, it's STILL IN TRANSIT, with no actual delivery information available! Note the date today, it's the 26th. You had one job. One. Get a gift here before Christmas, as was promised. You couldn't deliver, literally and figuratively. Avoid going to the Lancome counter at Beverly center Macys. Older African American Woman Cassy is extremely rude. I went to make an exchange for a foundation she recommend to me. It was clearly the wrong shade, but she kept insisting it wasn't despite the fact that I was obviously unsatisfied. She eventually returned it but not before spending several minutes trying to convince me to buy a different product. She also, walked away laughing and disappeared for several moments after I asked if I could have one of those plenti cards. When she came back there was a couple and they asked her about perfume or something and she told them she had some kind of set and disappeared again. I finally just walked away. read more

This is actually a review for Macy's.com . I have actually never received such poor customer service than I have from the Macy's customer service hotline. On January 21 I placed an online order for 2 boxes of dishes. I never received an email confirmation or shipping info for the order. The dishes arrived a week later. When I opened the box there were glass shards all over the inside, and they poured out of the broken boxes into my carpet. I called customer service and was laughed at and then hung up on by the customer service representative. Finally my boyfriend called on my behalf. The individual he spoke with apologized and said he would send out a replacement order with expedited shipping and fragile packaging; I should receive the package in a few days. Again, no confirmation email. A WEEK went by, still no dishes. I called customer service yesterday to inquire about the shipment status and was informed they never processed the shipment and my replacement dishes hadn't been sent. The supervisor I spoke with told me to "rest assured" they would process the shipment this time and I should receive the dishes in a few days. She told me she could not give me a confirmation number, but I would receive a confirmation email for the shipment within 24hrs. So today the 24hrs was up and I still hadn't received an email. I called to inquire, and the representative informs me that no shipment had been processed, instead the processed a refund. She informed me that the dishes are now sold out so they can't replace them. She then asked me if she could place me hold. Then she disconnected the call. read more

I've been to many Macy's but this was the first time I went to the one and the Beverly Center. Appealing to the upscale clientle in the area the store is well laid out, the sales staff friendlier than most Macy's, and the assortment of merchandise is top notch. One of the perks, even though you have to pay for parking, is the garage just switched from cashiers to fully automated pay-before-you-drive machines. I think the auto system will cut the car lines to get out of the place when the last think you want to do is wait in another "LA" line. read more

I ordered a kitchenaid toaster oven online from this store and did the same day delivery on sunday (since I ordered before 11 am). I received an email that they delivered the package, but I didn't sign for it and did not receive it. I called in and they said that a package over 100 dollars needs to be signed for and not to worry they will come before 5. Second phone call I made after 6, a diff guy named Brian told me that it has been delivered at 12 pm and I need to call the company that delivered it. I told him I did not get the package, I am tired of constantly calling companies so then he said he will call them right away, and hung up on me. Horrible customer service. GIFT CARD BUYERS BEWARE! Macys has been having an issue with some internal fraud with gift cards. Someone is stealing gift card numbers and using them. I had a $200 gift card that I tried to use but it was cashed out. The manager at the SF location claims she saw this same problem happen 2 months ago. Fortunately the person that gave me the gift card saved the receipt so we could prove we didnt use it elsewhere. The gift card I received was issued in Arcadia and cashed out in Riverside. My concern is once the back is scratched you can't prove or disprove you didn't spend the cash yourself. My fatty recommendation is to stop using macy's gift card services because they can't keep their shit safe. It took over an hour to get a new card reissued. Buy these gift cards at your own risk. Macy's in the 2000's is the same low-rent brand that Sears was in the 1980's. The only reason I would go to this store is to buy some Levi's jeans on the cheap. Every time I do business with this company I have a lousy experience. Lesson learned. I think the problem is that the company is so bloated and bureaucratic that they are their own worst enemy. They have so many layers and systems, many of which are incompatible with each other. The only reason I know this is that I ordered a pair of pants in December, never got them, and I'm still waiting for a refund. Reached out through phone, email but finally got someone's attention on Twitter. And then after another series of emails, the problem still isn't resolved. Oh and going into the store? I have shopped a great deal at this particular Macy's because of the free standing Men's store. It does have a good central location, however the Beverly Center is a giant white elephant and is a royal pain in the ass to deal with from parking, to getting and out of it. The best suggestion is to valet park your car or park on the street directly across from the Cedars-Sinai Surgery Center on San Vicente. This Macy's Men's store does it job. It specializes in a very broad selection of Men's clothing and accessories. If you're looking for something in particular, the odds of you finding it here are much greater than at a regular Macy's or other main stream department store. 1 Star I buy & wear a lot of Ralph Lauren Polo and this Macy's has the largest and best one. It seems they have a much broader selection of Polo than even the larger RL Polo Store in Beverly Hills. Maria & Vivian are the ones to help you in this department and they are very knowledgeable about REL Polo merchandise compared to everyone else who works in the department. Maria & Vivian always make sure to find me a paper shopping bag with handles as they know when you spend good money higher end clothing you want it put in a decent bag!!! 5 Stars! Men's Shoe's: I give them credit for having a nice large selection and different price ranges. However the customer service, to be frank, sucks beyond reproach. The sales staff I have encountered have almost no clue on the shoes they are selling and are their to meet their sales guideline. You will definitely not get the service Nordstrom gives at certain locations. 2 stars. The remainder of the clothing departments are very extensive. 5 stars. However, once again and a speciality of Macy's is poor, indifferent and customer service. When you do find someone to help you, they don't know anything. 1.5 stars. For such a specialized store, I find their accessories department to be lacking in varying levels of merchandise. I'd expect a broader range of leather goods but it's limited based solely on the size of this store and Macy's in general. 3.5 stars. Men's underwear etc. is 5 stars as you will not find a selection anywhere else like this. They do have a very large and nice selection of fragrances but the but the service is not lacking but aggressive and obnoxious like you would find at a used car dealer. 2 Stars. This store is very dark for some reason and even though I've mentioned it, it stays the same. 2.5 stars (The main Macy's store upstairs in the Beverly Center also seems dark or the lights are markedly dim except in bedding). I hate shopping live. IE: in store. But I had to go to check out a leather jacket I saw online and see if it was a right fit for me. I got to Macy's and it was around 8pm so I assumed people would be too busy closing up shop to help me but I was ready with my web ID. The clerk that helped me Erhen was so nice and cheerful. He was even singing the obscure (to me anyways) pop song that was playing while he searched hi and low for my jacket, then to my surprise another employee jumped in to help and then another and even the shoe department guy. Five people in total were looking for a jacket for me lol. I was pretty surprised. It was MIA but I ended up ordering with Ehren and I will get it at home and to boot, I bought a black one as well because they had all the coats on sale. I never write reviews, and would have never thought I would ever write one for a personal shopper, but my experience with Lauren Brown was so amazing, that there is no way I couldn't share my experience! I have never had a personal shopper, and never thought that I would have one. After making a move to a new city for a new job, I thought it was about time I started updating my wardrobe. Lauren contacted me within a day of my initial inquiry. I explained to her what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment she had a rack of clothes lined up for me. She was great at giving suggestions on what looked good, and how to mix and match different pieces. There is no way I would have been able to do this on my own, and she pushed me outside my comfort zone to try pieces I probably would have walked passed if I was roaming the floor on my own. I am at the men's Macy's shoe department at the Beverly center and the two employees in the men show department both are acting as if they do not want to do their job nor be at work today. First I can't find an employee to help me in their section because the two employees including the manager decided to step off the floor. I have to yell hello in their stock room three separate times to get a response of "GIVE me a moment" five min later an employee comes out to ring my sale. He rings the shoes along with the other items that I grabbed from different departments. After he rang transaction he didn't offer a printed receipt or a gift receipt. I ask if I may please have a gift receipt he replies "he can not.. "I ask well can he please find a manager who took another 15min to arrive with out acknowledging me. I inquired if there was a gift wrapping department, the female employee shrugged her shoulders then I asked well if you don't mind can you call and find out. She rolled her eyes and made the call, put the phone receiver down "they are not answering maybe they are gone to lunch; so I don't know if they have gift wrapping department." I am glad that I am not the only one who had a really bad experience. I wasn't planning on going to this Macy's but since I was already close I went and do my shopping while I was there I found someone who was really helpful on answering all my questions then when I was ready to pay I went and stand in front of the register and wait for one of the three employees to help me and do my check out. Stood there and none of them said anything and just kept going with their conversation they were having then I saw another register open and the cashier had just one costumer who he was helping when I stood in the line he gave me a nasty look like if he was smelling shit. It made me feel so bad. So I just went to look for another cashier and ask for the manager then Lucy the manager came and did nothing about it. Worst store ever.. Macy's lacks complete compassion for people/customer but they expect us to shop at their store for our homes when they don't even respect us as human beings with total lack of customer appreciation. I caution anyone getting the Macy's/Amex card. They are really awful and if you are sick or elderly I really recommend not getting the Macy's/Amex card. I had a horrible experience with them and they definitely lack any type of understanding or compassion. If you are a kind person with understanding and compassion you will not understand their policies or behavior.
