I was trying to get my mom shoes for her Christmas present. And yes, we went on a Saturday night which was busy. But it wasn't THAT busy in the women's shoe section. First, a lady helped me but after she got one size for us, she disappeared on us. Then no one seemed to want to help me but eventually an older man helped us. Afterwards, we went to the cash register the two people were bickering over who was going to ring me up. Rude. You should not be fighting over this in front of a customer and putting me on the spot. The woman said "DID I NOT HELP YOU FIRST?" and i said... um yes you did. So she said "Problem solved, this one's mine" to her co-worker. So unprofessional. AND THEN, the older man YELLED at me saying "YOU SHOULDNT HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON HELPING YOU" blah blah omg. SO rude these workers. Never coming back! read more

I've had this Yelp account for a while but I decided to write my first review today based off of the wonderful customer service I received from Randall in the women's shoe department today. Yesterday, I braved the crowds and found a gorgeous pair of orange red DV Dolce Vita Gilly loafers on the sale rack. The price on the sticker said it was marked down from $79 to $55 but when I scanned it myself, they were listed for $19 as part of their one-day sale! I whipped out my credit card and held the shoe closely and when I brought it to the register and asked for the mate to take the beauties home with me, Randall, the sales associate told me that he couldn't find the mate and offered me other colors. Despite his kind gesture, I had to decline. I couldn't stop thinking about the shoe and decided to try my luck again today. The same shoe was on the rack once again and I asked a different sales associate if she could bring the mate out. Luckily, she found it and handed the box to me. I immediately took the shoe to the price scanner and saw that price had increased to $40 (because their one-day sale was over). Though the shoes were gorgeous, I felt uneasy about shelling out $40 for a pair of flats when I knew they were being sold for a much cheaper price less than 24 hours ago. When the nearest sales associate walked by, I explained to her that I was about to purchase these shoes yesterday but they couldn't find the mate and wondered if I could purchase them for the price that had been showed yesterday. She told me that they weren't allowed to do that. My heart sunk but I didn't want to give up. Thankfully, I was able to locate Randall and explained to him that I had been there a day before to purchase the shoes but that he had told me that the mate was nowhere to be found. Again, I asked if I could purchase them for the $20 price tag that I was about to pay yesterday and he gladly obliged because he had remembered me! Hooray for Randall! I know this is a pretty lengthy review, especially for my first one, but have you SEEN those shoes!? With all of that said, this Macy's location has the best selection compared to other branches that I have been to. Also, it makes me really happy just to grab the closest thing to me that's on sale and scanning it to see a MUCH MUCH lower price than the tag reflects. I don't even buy the items. This Macy's is HUGE which is good and bad. I don't like how long it takes to get in and out of there but I am not a big fan of indoor malls with several floors. The selection is good though. I have come here a lot lately for bedding but I have found that you can get a better deal online. So I usually go to the store to browse but I order what I need online b/c it's less expensive and you can always make your returns to the store if you have to. read more

I want to write about one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. About a month ago I noticed that a pair of my INC boots had some rips in the fabric area connected to the leather portion. I really liked these boots, however, in only having them for a few months I was disappointed by the quick wear. I then also remembered that my prior pair of INC boots had to be thrown out because the seams at the sole tore very early after purchasing them. (At the time I went to the Beverly Center store to let them know, but the clerk said there was nothing that could be done.) Back to present day. I decided to write INC just to let them know that while I do like their brand, the craftsmanship left something to be desired. After searching online I found out INC was an in-house brand for Macys. That said, I wrote Macys just to let them know my thoughts on the brand and my experience with their footwear. I DID NOT even expect a reply honestly. Two weeks later, Jonathan from the Beverly Center store contacted me as a follow up to my grievance. He was very polite, considerate and attentive. He asked about the merchandise, what the issues were, he apologized genuinely for my poor experience and thanked me for being a consistent Macys customer. After reviewing my account, he offered me a generous credit to come back in and make a purchase at the store. I DID NOT ask for anything honestly. I would have been satisfied just by the fact that someone called to acknowledge my complaint and offered an apology. The fact that he wanted to compensate me for my troubles was a true sign that the store does care about their customers. Kudos to Jonathan for making a bad situation right. Went in today for a little Christmas shopping. Found it VERY embarrassing to be looking in the makeup area where they have a product called "naked makeup" and to have a female and male laugh at me and my twins as we walked away. The girl laughed that "mommy was stumbling away from the Prices" and it took every ounce of my being not to confront her. I had to use this instance as a learning experience for my children. Their products appeared interesting but with their glib attitudes I just walked away. I spent about $250 on Clinique and Chanel, btw.... Great having my department store credit card! I thoroughly expect to come back and have both "store clerks" written up for their horrible behavior. read more

The thing that the store needs is the consistency of service. Not all sales associates has good attitude for their customers, some are slight worse than the others. I had been to this store twice to return items, and my second experience today wasn't that good. As a customer who has placed 10+ orders on macys.com, I would say this is the thing that drags macys back from a middle class classic department store it strived for. Today, the person who I asked to return a item at one of their upper scale brand counter rejected me because the item was not from that brand. Then a lady I inquired where to return the item was quite cold. However, the old man at the calvin klein jeans counter was quite friendly and helped me to return the item when I only have the credit card but not the packing slip. More trainings on staff are needed. read more

I've been to every Macy's in the LA area -- this is my top pick among the lot. It's true that it can be hard to flag down a sales associate in most floor areas, but it's not as bad here as in their other stores. I am posting this review specifically today because of a very pleasant experience at the Clinique counter, after very unpleasant experiences at Clinique counters elsewhere, like Bloomingdale's at Beverly Center (hoity-toity), Nordstrom at the Grove (no service whatsoever), Cosmetic World at City Center (items out of stock!)... When you want to buy Clinique products and have a pleasant time of it, come to Macy's at the Beverly Center. There's a girl name Harissa (spelling?) who seems to have been born to be a Clinique associate! read more

I am a sucker for a sale and a coupon a holic so I would like to know why no one all these years bothered to tell me that Macys has designer jeans on sale and clearance for much much cheaper, its like going to a cosignment shop. I am at work and my back is killing me so I must keep this short. I went to Bloomingdales in the beverly center hoping to get some rock and republic and the lady brought out these 7's which i liked but they only have 2 styles so that is how i ended up in Macys. I will say the service wasnt fantastic if you are stickler for that. I was there a good hour walking in and out of the dressing room and browsing (as I kept finding more designer jeans on the clearance and sales rack) and mind you the dressing room was right near the cashier counter and although there were about 3 women there not once the whole hour was i ever acknowledged or asked if i needed help, i just didnt care being astonished at the prices. so some very very similar 7 jeans were on sale for 100 bucks, they had a pair of Marc Jacob jeans for 53 and Paige jeans for 65(the ones i ended up buying, they were originally 209). Well i think this is just fantastic. I cant really afford all these jeans i just splurge once a year as a b-day gift to myself (which is on sunday yayyyyy me), but seeing as how Macys has these jeans for 50-100, i will definitely will be returning in the near future to see what they have. By the way, Perfume ladies downstairs very very nice. didnt catch her name, but she is a sweet older lady with a short blond haircut and is round, almost a grandma type and she was very helpful and sweet. read more

This represents a general take on Macy's as opposed to a review of the Bev Ctr Macy's, and, specifically, Federated, Macy's parent. I'm a native Angeleno and over the decades have watched the stunning m&a activity in the department store industry. Back in the day, LA had lots of competition; Bullocks, Bullocks Wilshire, Robinsons, May Co., The Broadway, Buffums, Ohrbachs, Nordstroms... While Nordstrom's is still standing, all of the others have either been m&a'd or killed. Point is, conglomeration has left us with basically ONE store in its price range - Macy's - and a slightly more higher range cousin, Nordstrom's. Bloomingdale's is even higher. Just today I was shopping for a robe for my mother in-law, and was in a Macy's. I didn't like any of them, plus there was a paltry litter to pick from. Then I thought about the way Federated had come in to town and swooped up a lot of its competition via conglomeration. What does this have to do with me wanting a robe for my mother in-law? It basically means that where as before, I had a much wider range of choices and variety, simply because there was a small army of buyers from several different stores, each with (presumably, not always) different tastes. But now, with the massive conglomeration and subsequent elimination of their competition, I am at the mercy of a few Macy's buyers. And I can tell you this; they've all the excitement of a Quaker dance. At least when it comes to robes. read more

I am a Macy's shopper and I have been to many Macy's stores before including this one. And I worked for Macy's in HS. First off the the store is under construction which i can't be mad at them for because they are trying to improve the location but i went into housewares and saw a pan set that i liked. It was on sale and had a bonus offer so i was prepared to purchase. So here comes the reasons i left mad. A. I had to look for a sale associate. I asked a man in bedding who was going to help when he saw that the associate working the cookware area was standing there. (Btw she was standing two displays over from me and never said anything. I thought she was a customer.) B. I asked her to show me the bonus set bc the sign said the bonus was a three piece bowl set. She looks at the display and say this other pot is the bonus so I'm thinking the signage was just messed up. C. At the register she starts to ring me up and then when she rings up the bonus and she looks at the it for a minute then walks away. Didn't say anything just walks away!!!! :( so i wait for like five or more minutes. Then walk around a bit to see where she is and she is no where to be found. So Macy's Bev. Ctr got to keep those pans. Btw there was another man walking about for about 10mins before an employee came to help him as well. Just shameful!?!?! So based on the service I received two stars! Disappointed bc now i have to wait for the pans to go on sale again to get them. read more

Besides the fact that outside of New York and San Francisco, Beverly Center has the best dress selection I've seen, but that's not what makes this place a gem. What makes the Beverly Center a dream is a gentleman by the name of Javiar!! Javiar is EVERYTHING. He will pull your sizes for you, have clothing ready for you when you arrive or shop with you and help you find what you are looking for. I had been shopping for a Grammy dress for weeks and I pulled into the Beverly Center, exhausted and wishing that I was 25 pounds lighter and Javiar made it happen for me and had me in and out of there in less than two hours with a perfect dress, that I was able to try on in a well lit large dressing room, with complimentary water. The best news is that Javiar's services are FREE!! read more

Big ups for this Macys. I ordered a pair of expensive jeans from macys.com and just outside the 180 day return window, the zipper fell apart. I tried to return them and the website wouldn't budge, but the manager at this Macy's store was cool enough to let me exchange the damaged item for a new pair of jeans. So nice to be treated like a person and not just a claim number! That kind of service is hard to find these days, and this is one of the places you'll find it. read more

I regret to write this review because I've always shopped at this store. I actually bought a lot of office wear (almost a $1K worth) for my new job right across the street during Black Friday. BUT here's the sad part... I had to return some shirts and ties since they weren't within the dress code guidelines. So a nice sales lady, Nadia, started processing some of the returns until she got stuck with the buy one get one purchases. So she calls the manager to help out. Thing is, I wasn't returning all my purchases but part of it. So I only brought all the buy one get one items and pairs. All organized and sorted out for EASY return (so, I thought). The manager, DeAndre Wilson, surprisingly tells me that he can't help me unless I return everything first then repurchase everything at higher current prices. Funny but I've done this kind of return before, sometime last year, and there wasn't any problem. I know that there's such a thing as overriding the system... but the manager was too adamant about his decision. Seriously, return everything and repurchase the items with higher price tags?! He could have suggested, AT LEAST, to exchange them for something or get store credit. BUT he didn't. He's so unhelpful, and dismissive. Never again I would purchase anything from this Macy's store. I rather take the trip to Sherman Oaks. More selections, more helpful people. read more

Had a great experience with Harrisha at the Clinique counter! My dermatologist suggested I use the Clinique Oil Free line and I am so happy I switched. I already see a difference in my skin. The make up is very light weight! Harrisha was so sweet and great to talk to! She sat me down in the chair and did a lovely mini makeover. Let me tell you, my face looked like the grand canyon because I just had extractions done at the dermatologist and she made my face look flawless with the oil free line products. I also didn't feel like I had a caked face. She also explained more products to me that may benefit me in the future as well. I have really fallen in love with Clinique's products thanks to my dermatologist & Harrisha! Harrisha also asked for my name and number to check on me in a couple of weeks to see how I was liking the products. Now that is customer service! If you have sensitive, acne prone skin, definitely check out the Clinique Oil Free line... you won't be disappointed! Also, this Macy's has a great shoe collection! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. The people there have no concept of what good customer service is. I went to return something and the sales associates passed me off to four different people before they could help, spent 15 minutes interrogating me about me return (I returned a foundation that had a high alcohol content and they were all like oh I didn't know that, that sounds so impossible as if I somehow might be mistaken. I had to point it out to them on the package). They were rude, took care of other business in front of me after they'd started the return process, and seemed very put out and accusatory in manner, as well as misinformed. Onto my next point of contention, as makeup associates they should at least be half way knowledgeable. They did not know what a satin finish was, tried to push me to buy a foundation that was clearly not full coverage and were overall uppity and rude. I then walked around to another foundation station. No one was around so I had to call a girl who called the woman manning the booth. She couldn't be bothered to color match me but I could do it so whatever. I was between two shades and asked for a sample from both. She gave me one and lied about the other saying they were out and to come back again for the other sample even though there was a sample bottle right on front of her. I get they might not want to give two samples but just say that instead of lying (I would have taken no offense). Also when I was returning earlier I mentioned I needed samples so I could try them out they lost all interest in me and just gave me a very rude and unwelcome look. I am never buying anything from Macy's and will buy all my makeup from Sephora. So be warned people. This is not a friendly place. No smiles, no greetings. When I went it was practically empty with a bunch of sales associates just hanging around gossiping with each other. read more

I went to the Men's Store last week to purchase two white dress shirts. I walked around the store looking for the right style and size. The two women in men's dress shirts never approached me, never greeted me and never offered to help me. This store is clearly not designed for actual MEN. I had to dig through layers and layers of shirts to find the right size. NO MAN wants to spend that much time shopping. There is no need to have so much product on the floor. It is insane. I decided to walk to another check out counter since the women in that department couldn't be bothered to help me. I approached a lady and she proceeded to ring up my purchase. She asked me if I would like to open a Macy's charge card, which I declined. Another employee walked up and he made a joke that I really should open up the card and get that discount. The he actually said to me, "And if you meet me by the loading doc you will get a 99% discount." Really! You have the nerve to say that to a customer. You nasty troll. I was speechless. I left the store and decided to call and complaint from home. I called and spoke to a "manager". She took my complaint, but never asked me for my name or phone number. I'm not sure that I've ever shopped at this Macy's. I have been to the Beverly Center though. This Macy's is pretty nice. The customer service was really really great. Everybody was so helpful and very nice. They also seem to have a lot of really good sales going on which I didn't realize. I'm not one to really shop at department stores but I'm glad I did today. I was here to exchange a Christmas gift, a scarf, and I had a gift receipt. I opted to get credit and take my time to look around to see what I wanted. I ended up going to the suit section and getting a suit jacket. I got an amazing deal. It was also nice that they were having a special going where if you donated two dollars to their red dress campaign you got 20% off of your item. So I opted to do that and saved a lot of money. So I even got a nice pin to show that I donated it. Win-win situation for everybody involved. It made me feel good to shop here. read more

This is not really specific to this location of Macy's, but the company in general (though we do our shopping at this location). I would not recommend registering for your wedding at Macy's. We registered here because they had a good variety of essentials (towels, sheets, kitchenwares, etc.) and also registered at two other household stores. It's been two years since our wedding and almost everything we registered for from Macy's has fallen apart or broken (for ex. Ralph Lauren towels are completely frayed). Our items from the other two stores are completely fine. Basically, I'm complaining that there seems to be an overall quality issue with Macy's merchandise. It's very disappointing after our friends/family spent a lot of money on those items and now we'll have to purchase replacements (not from Macy's!) Future brides: steer clear of Macy's registry and go elsewhere to register for items that will last for more than two years! read more

Despite my review about the Bloomingdales at this same location, this Macy's is actually pretty nice. The layout is confusing, and men's stuff is all the way on the bottom. Hmm, surprise surprise. But they had a nice selection of jeans, unlike most Macy's, who seem to think that everyone likes Levi's and Ralph Lauren jeans. Maybe if I were 20 years old, I would, but no thanks. The associates seemed helpful here, unlike Bloomingdales. Besides the inconvenience of the Beverly Center Parking, this is my Macy's of choice for the area. Always have decent customer service and usually give you the coupons, even though you leave them at home. Found a great blue dress for a wedding - which was 40% off and then 15% on top of that for using my Macy's card. Love the Clinique here too - they always hook me up with extra goodies. Housewares is pretty easily to manage and the employee was super great with me in helping me to find an affordable gift from the registry. Women's shoes is hit or miss... mostly miss. read more

I shopped at the Macy's Mens's store on Thanksgiving. I bought a pair of shoes, a belt, a couple of Bar II dress shirts, and $200 Caivin Klein wool suit. I really liked the suit a lot. However, when I tried on the shirts, they were a bit small. The next day, Black Friday, I needed to return the shirts. When I was shopping, I saw a $200 Michael Kors 3-piece suit that I had to buy. When I was standing in line, the employee, F, asked if I was paying with Macy's card or cash. I told him neither. He said there was a system failure, and that Macy's only accepted cash or Macy's card. I then went over to the ATM to retrieve cash. I got my cash and went back in line. F was helping a customer and took about 20 minutes with her. When it came to ring up my purchase, I told him I needed to return the two shirts. He said he couldn't process the returns, and I had to go in the shirt department. This sounded odd, but in light of the system failure, I thought there may have been some logistical reason he couldn't do the refund. I paid in cash, and went to the shirt department, where the line was really long. I grew very frustrated and went to a line that was shorter. I was helped by V, who was very good. I asked V whether there was a reason I couldn't return the shirts in the suit department when I bought my 2nd suit. She said no, and that anyone can process returns. At this point I was livid. V processed my return in less than a couple of minutes. There was not reason F couldn't do that either, yet he sent me to the back of a very long line. I asked to speak to the store manager, S. S came and I explained him the situation. Stephen really didn't seem to care, offer some perfunctory apology of how it shouldn't have happened, and said he couldn't me get back the 45 minutes I wasted in lines. I left the store, and did more thinking about the situation in the Beverly Center. About a half hour later, I thought, why should I keep the MK suit, which was very nice, and a good deal, when Macy's does not even seem to care about its customers, except for V, who was understanding. So, I stood in line for another 25 mins (hey, what's another 25 mins, when you already spend an extra 45 mins in line), and returned the suit. I have a job that requires business attire, and I always get my work clothes from this Macy's. I gave up a suit I really liked. I don't think I can shop here again. The service from F, and worst of all, the lack of concern from the manager, S, was too much. read more

I really despise underground parking, parking structures, parking difficulties, and parking in general--so I much prefer the wide open Macys stores that are not part of a behemoth mall. I like the idea of zipping in, and zipping out. No such luck at the Bev Center where you have to search for parking, walk for miles to get to the store, and then chuck a buck into the hungry, hungry parking machine when you leave. But I guess it's not fair to judge this Macys based on the parking situation. It's not really Macys fault, and I continue to have a tender spot in my heart for this retail giant since I saw Miracle on 34th Street as a kid. The rub is that the lay out of this place is physically encrypted. It isn't clear where the junior clothes are, the suits are, the dresses are, the anything is. This is the only Macys where I literally have no idea where to find anything, and I've been here a dozen times. Needed a suit for a major event. Went first to Men's Wearhouse (across the street), whose salesman seemed like a barely-functioning human being, he mumbled or failed to respond to most interaction, and seemed to have been trained to immediately take me to the most expensive things they had. After that, I went to Macy's and was helped by Ralph, who should be sought by everyone here as I think he must be the best salesperson in menswear. He helped me find some stuff that was within my budget, wasn't pushy and offered smart advice on what other items might work with the suit I picked out. I'm tempted to give a 4-star review because one of the other salesmen sucked -- a middle-aged man with a mustache (possibly of middle-eastern origin) who was an absolute dick to me (and on a separate occasion, to my mom and girlfriend). He seemed to resent that we weren't his customers? In which case, naturally, you get pushy and unhelpful, right? That guy should be fired, wish I remembered his name.
