Jessica in the Macy's HOME department was a total b today, now I know when you return something they don't open every single package but she did. This is after she asked me if I had sealed the boxes back up myself (when Macy's sent them like that) and I told her no, they came that way. I let her open the two boxes of pots fk it .. but when she preceded to tell another worker there about how people return stuff and take things out .. now she was insulting me because she she was doing it right in front of my face. As she digged through the boxes I asked her if there was something in particular she was looking for but she didn't answer me, (by this time she had tested my patience) she proceeded to dig through the boxes and I heard her tell the other worker there is a rack missing. I let her proceed to do whatever it is she was doing and as she did my transaction separately because she was going to claim it damaged according to her. I grabbed the box looked in it myself and showed the other lady that the rack WAS in there. By then then this b had insulted me to the max already, so I was fuming. When she gave me the refund I asked for her name and I'm not done, taking this all the way up because she can't do this to other people. I insulted her on the way out which is out of my norm but I've never had anybody disrespect me to that degree and I allow it. She in sarcastic way told me how I was my foul language was horrible in front of my 7 year old daughter, well my daughter has never heard her mom say a bad word till today mam. Some people just bring out the b's in you, I walked in there nice and in a good mood and she was just unhappy to be working after New Year's Day I guess. I hate that I insulted her but I was soo pissed. I would be careful who you're rude to, you might never know who I know that can affect your job or anybody else. Finally my daughter got the help she needed!!!! We have gone to multiple locations to try and get my 19 year matched with the right foundation, well sad to say we have tried Sephora on multiple occasions, Ulta on two occasions and even this Macy's at their benefit and MAC counters , but every time we would get home or my daughter would wear her makeup out doors her make up was either too dark, too light or too much red tone on her face! But not today , thanks to Brittany from their Smashbox makeup counter! She was so helpful and friendly! She matched my daughter with the correct color foundation. I went to the jewelry section as I needed to return jewelry that was defective. I approached the one sales person I saw in all the area and she pointed to another sales person that might be able to help me. As she referred me to her by pointing at her...the sales girl kind of turned giving me her back and seemed to walk away, clearly ignoring me. Why not ask, can I help you? Hmmm. I am a paying customer. Hmmm you were not that busy. And, it's part of working in sales. A big part. I showed her the broken jewelry. I asked if I could return it. She wouldn't listen and appeared annoyed with me. She was very dismissive and didn't bother to explain my options as a customer. First off, they were not busy. She could have informed me of my choices..,such as: I may be able to credit you, or refund or because you don't have a receipt... blah , blah , blah. Please don't just brush off your customer , Clearly some sales people lack customer service skills, or incentive, which begs me to ask , why are you dealing with customers if you don't want to help or be professional? Well, I asked for the manager. She told me the manager was not I. Until later, she then said the manager was in and if I wanted to wait. So, they had me waiting for a while. The manager came, she seemed polite. She was okay, never apologized nor did she acknowledge that I was upset. I did appreciate that she informed me of what she could do and could not do. Since , before she/manager had arrived,I was being rushed and questioned in a rude manner... I told her that as a customer all I asked was to be informed about my choices to return merchandise. Why are you in such a hurry? If nobody was at the counters . Just Offer to help. I've been shopping there for 30 years and as customers , all we, customers, deserve is common courtesy -at the very least. If as a salesperson , you aren't sure how to assist a customer, please let them know that and offer to find out or explain policy. You just have to be polite and professional. We know you are busy but also know that your customer is busy as well and just like you may have better things to do. My GIFT CARD BALANCE was stolen and used all up here. The thief bought $144 worth of Benefit cosmetic and clothing on 1/18/2012 at 7:50pm and returned them on 4/20, and 4/28 possibly to transfer it to another card they can use later. Manager (at Cerritos mall) did not help much besides investigating into the transaction history, number in the back of the card sucks! Since this card was a Christmas gift in 2010 and I used it once in Costa Mesa, I don't have receipt of purchasing the card, I only have receipt of the balance but that is not enough, they won't replace me another card with the balance that was stolen! GIFT CARD BUYERS BEWARE! Macys has been having an issue with some internal fraud with gift cards. Someone is stealing gift card numbers and using them. I had a $200 gift card that I tried to use but it was cashed out. The manager at the SF location claims she saw this same problem happen 2 months ago. Fortunately the person that gave me the gift card saved the receipt so we could prove we didnt use it elsewhere. The gift card I received was issued in Arcadia and cashed out in Riverside. My concern is once the back is scratched you can't prove or disprove you didn't spend the cash yourself. My fatty recommendation is to stop using macy's gift card services because they can't keep their shit safe. It took over an hour to get a new card reissued. Buy these gift cards at your own risk. Okay the employee who works at Michael kors dept. I didn't notice his name .... He was soooo rude all I wanted to know is a price on a MK bag .... He rudely replies by pointing at people " she's next then she's next" .... Then I can help you! So I waited patiently ..... While he helped three women that kept asking the same Q . Over and over since they spoke little to no English ..... And they were so indecisive, they kept going behind the register cmon... They were pointing at different purses speaking to one another and he just stood there !!!! Looking at them I understand that he was helping them first but come on .... This us the worst Macy's I have ever been to!!!! The customer service is terrible and the store is always a mess. I was trying to find out how much a blouse was so I scanned the price tag at a price check scanner but it was out of service. I scanned it at two other stations and they were both broken as well. At the last price scanner there were two young sales ladies chit chatting. One noticed that I was trying to scan the price tag and said "It's out of order." I had a really weird experience at the Macy's jewelry department today. I went in to get a chain fixed that I had purchased during Christmas time. I didn't like the customer service, the lady that was attending just seemed a bit off when it came down to what I wanted which was to get the chain fixed that's it. Pretty simple & straightforward. I bought it with insurance in which she could look up herself to see exactly what I purchased, but she just seemed complicated. We weren't trying to have it polished or nothing due to the time she said it might take but still at the end said that it would be polished & I had to remind her that's not what I wanted. That's not a big deal but it just seemed like she wasn't fully attentive & didn't want to be. After I ask her how long will it take for the chain to be ready cause all she said was that I'll be called. & that didn't tell me nothing she was very dismissive with her answers & that was frustrating. Usually you let someone know we will call you when it's ready which CAN BE in a week or so but I had to ask her in a couple hours, later today, or so when so I can know. I like this Macy's store because of their selection on my favorite brand of jeans. I can't seem to ever find both my size and length at other Macy's. This one had three pairs, in different washes! I used to love shopping at this Macy's location until today. The closest register I found near the women's clothing was the one at Michael Kors. While I was waiting in line to pay. Girl behind me approached the male cashier directly and wants to see a specific size. Male cashier left to get it. It was my turn when again another lady went to the female cashier directly asking for shoes that needs to be ordered online and she immediately helped her. She even told me that shoes are priorities and she will help me after. I was annoyed but I said ok. Male cashier finally came back and I honestly thought I will be helped but no! He decided to help another lady thats not even in line. I dropped the clothes I was buying and left. If you don't want my business because its not a priority for you then I'll be more than happy to take it somewhere else! Macy's should consider sending its employees to customer service training. Any Macy's in LA is less ghetto than this one. No matter how they renovate the mall, it's still a ghetto mall. I was at the jewelry counter last week trying to get the salesperson take out a pendant for me to see. She said that she will come back to me in a bit after showing that customer who's been contemplating and extremely indecisive about his purchase. Ok, I just need ONE thing taking out so I can make a quick purchase, it's OBVIOUS that customer was indecisive and NOT ready to buy. If she can't even realize that, she might need to look for a different job/position. Wear combat boots when visiting this location. It's not dreadful, but definitely does not present a positive shopping experience by any means. I shop at this location during week days only; it's less people and you can navigate more easily around the store. I wish the racks would be a bit more organized and there are actual clear walk ways between each section. I just got off the phone with Macy's and THANK GOD they have a lady at 7:33 pm who could remove my late fee! YAY! MACY's! I would've had to go out tired, in the cold to go into the store but thank GOD the credit office (which you can access off the 323 number) was working! Would've given it 5 stars but they no longer have SPANKS or any kind of Girdles or smoothers for evening gowns. They have HUGE square footage for lingerie but only bras no shapers...this is bad buying on the part of their buyer! yikes!!! This girl has a horrible attitude is not friendly at all. She was extremely rude to both my nephew Cristian and I... for simply asking for a box!
