Good sized store inside the Montebello Mall. For the most part, always busy, but what do you expect, its at the mall.

Tonight I went to visit the cosmetics section for a mask, I was referred to the Origin brand. After a few minutes of browsing I met the cosmetics consultant Consuelo. The exhibit was neat well organized I asked her many questions about the various types of masks. She took the time to thoroughly explain each and the benefits of each and how to apply. I purchased the most popular one along with an eye serum. She was kind enough to apply the mask while I relaxed in a reclined seated position and also applied the serum after removing the mask. She explained me the benefits of a full facial. She is a true subject matter expert wonderful communication skills and represents the brand in the first class manner. read more

I went in today to purchase a coach perfume I saw the day before. I forgot which one it was and Laura was so awesome. I received the very best customer service from her. She was so sweet and she helped to me find the perfume I was looking for. She didn't stop helping me until I was satisfied with the perfume I purchased. Do not buy watch here. I bought a Movado here and it broke on me right after 3 months. The worse thing is the Manager, Cindy didn't really try to help resolve any issue. I come back here multiple times to get the watch fix and the time is still incorrect. So I asked the manager, Cindy if it still broke what going to happen. She told me the best they can do is keep sending it out...the way this manager resolve thing is really stupid.. not sure why Macys even hire people that can resolve a small issue like this to be a manager for the watch and jewelry department The customer service here is the worse read more

This Macy's isn't the same ever since they took out the NARS counter, the only Macy's in LA County that had a NARS counter. The nearest one is now in San Diego (fortunately, there are plenty of Sephoras around that carries the brand). I'm still hunting for my makeup artist though. He was the genius that paired peach and gray together on my eyes and made them magnificent. The Montebello Macy's likes to think of themselves as more high-end. Retailers like Coach are moving into the mall but it's just all sort of still a bit ghetto which means there are deals to be found. And it is actually a well-organized and clean Macy's. I wouldn't say it's on the same level as Topanga or even the Beverly Center though. I mainly like this store because the lingerie clearance racks don't seem to be so picked over. I got one of my friend's something appropriately naughty for her bridal shower here. In fact, the deals were so good, I got her two itty bitty pieces of cloth for less than what Vicky or Freddie would charge! read more

Make up Artist at Chanel counter went above and beyond in beautifying ladies attending their make up gala. They thoroughly explained all products, listened to what you liked and disliked about products and recommended alternatives. I myself love make up that helps the skin yet offers coverage without feeling like you have 10 pounds of make up on. I hate when you walk to a counter and they try to push you to buy, but for some reason I felt free to look around and tried all kinds of items before purchasing. Everyone was very helpful and were not rushed in helping in other guest - like they normally do when its a big event. read more

I came here to buy some things for a wedding registry and was shocked that the Macy's Home store didn't have the dishes that the couple wanted. Its a home store right? Shouldn't it have everything from the website? Anyways had an okay experience, probably won't come back again. read more

I am so disgusted with the way a employee here by the name of "Esmeralda" treated my wife... i AM NEVER COMING BACK TO MACYS MONTEBELLO UNTIL SHE IS GONE ! seriously I couldnt believe this attitude of hers. HEADS UP : SOME STAFFS AT MACYS WORKERS LIKES TO SCAM YOU.. So like a few weeks ago i went to the mall with my mom and my aunt. My mom decided to used her macy gift card she got from the family and friends rewards.. and a worker scammed us and took our 180$ gift card and charged it items we purchases to my moms credit card instead of the gift card. We shouldve gotten 30$ back from the gift card but she completely scammed us and took it for her self. I normally don't go to Macy's that often anymore, but recently they add Bobby Brown make-up counter to their store and I also noticed they are selling Juicy Courture bags here to as well. So now I don't have to drive to Santa Anita to get Bobby Brown foundation. I come here when I need to go baby shower gift shopping because they have great sales on baby and toddlers clothing. Plus if you use your Macy's card you get 20% off. I think once I bought this cute little outfit for my baby nephew thinking it was $20 but it was on sale for like $5 but ended up getting it for $3 for using my macy's card. I like that this Macy's is finally adding more brands/products that I would have to go to Santa Anita to go to Sephora or Nordstroms to get, but now I can find most of it here at Macy's Montebllo. They even have their Coach, Besty Johnson, Mac,Benefit products here as well. Yes, i'm a make-up and purse kinda gal. read more

Do not open a macys CREDIT CARD!!! They swing you in with the no interest for a few months BUT if you are late on the payment they charge 30-40 dollar late fee!! NO GRACE PERIOD??!! Paid it of and closed it, so disappointed!!! read more

I like this Macys alot as I always find good items in here. I can buys brands without visiting an outlet. I think I have spent more than $200 in my last few visits on cosmetic, intimacy, and menswear departments. I hope this location won't close down because of the massive closures nationwide. I agree with other comments. I feel difficult to get help around from a salesman, unless I go to the department counter. My understanding is that this store is or was one of the highest grossing (sales) stores for Macy's. I don't know this can be true when you can't find a sales person to pay or even ask questions about any of their items. If you can't find a salesperson when you're ready to pay that's pretty sad. read more

Brenda is the most helpful employee talks to you with respect and helps you out in all the ways she can! When I asked Elena for a shoe size in the shoe department she literally ignored me and even looked at me when I asked her and says "we have a line for sizes if you didn't know" while walking away well if I obviously knew I wouldn't have asked. She's old and wears glasses maybe the age is getting to her head and needs to retire. But Brenda is great ! :) go to her! read more

The cashiers here are a bit slower than usual, but at least they don't lash out at you and act rude. On the other hand, they don't show any emotion here either. It's more of a droll empty attitude that we get from them. It also is really dark on the second floor, and you can tell when you've exited Macy's and entered mall because it gets so much brighter when you walk out. Pretty clean here and Macy's is in one place (rather than separated from men/women). However, I'm spoiled by the Macy's in Brea. read more

I like this Macy's the way it looks fancy and all but the manager has a really BAD attitude there and has horrible customer service .She has an attitude that I can tell employees are afraid to tell her something. I won't go to this Macy's for a while. Well they sure lost some customers as I can see. I've been a loyal customer since the days of May Co and Robinson's May, before they merged and then became Macy's. Last month I got a bill which included a $2 late fee (my bad as I had erroneously posted a different amount instead of paying in full as I always do). So I figured I'd eat the $2 fee and posted the correct amount (including the $2 late fee) and it was paid on the due date. So 2 days ago I got a bill for $2 (marked as 'fees charged'). After being on hold in the chat queue for over 20 minutes, I finally get someone and after 5 minutes is still not giving me a reply. She finally writes "I was successful in getting the $2 fees waived" so I asked point blank "what were the charges for?". Her reply (word for word) was "Just to let you know, we charge interest daily. The interest on this statement was for the days you had a balance on your account, specifically from the day we mailed you the statement until the day we received your payment". To which I replied "Those charges are ridiculous. You give a due date for payment; payment is made in full; and you still charge extra? You do know that is illegal, right?" I got no answer. In fact, I think she disconnected at that point. But I printed up the chat and am going to pursue this bullsh**! read more

The lingerie section of this Macys is pretty good. They had surprisingly pretty bras for my jugs and everything! :) Nothing old lady and "full figured" for me! Just pretty! And the customer service was also good in the lingerie dept. It's always a little awkward shopping for bras in department stores, because dudes like to cruise around (and I'm a little shy.) The rest of the store is a messy messy vortex of bad smells and piles of clothes. I tend to not go to any other departments here other than the MAC counter (which is always packed and the girls are always rushed.) The mall is trying to fancy itself a "high end" kinda mall, but comes off more as provincial, because if Paris Hilton did a *gag* appearance here awhile back, and Coach has a store here, it MUST be swanky, right? First, i wait for the man to get me my size. Let me rephrase that, i have anxiety, i can't talk, so a random stranger had to. I had to wait 5 mins to get my shoes, no big deal. Checking out, a lady said " I'll Be right with you," she left at the end of her shift, yes, she left us. . Waiting. This place, never go here. So I did come by after the holidays (NYE to be exact). The deals are not bad - jeans are becoming sooooo affordable now! The store was pretty messy, but I would expect it to be like that pre-and post-holidays. I was browsing the Shiseido counter, walked around twice, two ladies were working, but one was chatting in her native language on the phone. For some reason, I always feel that makeup counter folks are either too stuck up or rude. Another worked was assisting someone else. I decided to go to Sephora instead. read more

Came through since there weren't any other restrooms nearby. The restrooms are on the second floor. The Men's section is on the second floor near the lingerie section? Maybe its a sign? After nature's calling, I checked out the rest of the store. The selection seems decent but I didn't find anything for myself. They have a pretty big Coach store within. One can also test the perfumes as one wishes since they're on the open counter. I really dislike it when you have to ask to smell something. It totally makes me want to purchase a perfume less. Overall, decent Macy's with your typical Macy's stuff of clothes and cosmetics. read more

As a former employee I have seen my share of crazy here. But as a customer now, O U T R A G E O U S ! As I was walking into the store the other day the first thing I notice was not the sales going on everywhere.. Oh Nooo. I noticed a man looking kinda upset and well big deal right but its who was following him that made me feel uneasy. A lady was following him (probably his wife) and she was crying her eyes out! a grown woman! and I had to ride down the escalator with her behind me! dang! Anyway, a little story there. Now this Macy's its not the fanciest of the bunch (but its not the worst either..have you been to the one downtown?) but it's decent. This Macy's is my go to in terms of yoga pants. The staff is pretty friendly here and they recently added a finish line here! This Macy's is only a fashion one (clothing and accessories and stuff to wear) they have a second location just for home goods and stuff. Still in the same mall of course. Did I mention this location is at the shops at Montebello? No? well it's at the shops at Montebello. hehe read more

A woman hovering the front entrance with a bottle of foul smelling perfume and a look in her eye as if she's about to pounce on me and beat me with a Britney Spears fragrance. Just wanted to leave a review for a great experience I had the other day with Andrea over in Lancôme cosmetics. She went above and beyond in customer service for my friend and I. She took her time explaining products to us and color matched my friend (which was spot on). Above all the reason I wanted to mention her was not only that she was super nice and professional but that I had forgotten something at the counter and she even took the time to walk over and hand it to me. Went to this Macys, and had a horrible experience. I tried returning an item and I got the rolling eyes and snapping of the lips by the associate name Cynthia. Finally I talked to the manager Vanessa and she was great even though I couldn't return the item she made me feel like a real person and not like a second class citizen. The customer service is very much lacking. Yesterday, I purchased several items online and selected the option to pick them up in the store. At the online pick up location, I waited 20 minutes for someone to assist me. There was only one sales person at the register and she was assisting two guests in front of me. She neither made eye contact with me nor acknowledged me. It wasn't until I asked if there was anyone else who could assist me that she advised she would be with me as soon as she finished helping the gentleman at the register. Both men were opening accounts, purchasing items and returning items which is why it took so long. Apparently the other sales person was out at lunch and upon his return he was able to assist me. Not only did he lack personality, but he acted as if he was doing me a favor assisting me I purchased three different items and only one item was at that particular pick up location. I had to walk over to the home store in the middle of the mall, wait in line again and go through the same procedure showing The sales person my phone and my ID and wait for them to bring out my purchase. I will never order online again and select pick up at store. Unless the deal is amazingly great, I will no longer shop at Macy's. Oh, and by the way I actually purchased two additional items online but the email I received noted that the other two items were no longer available in store. I waited a full 24 hours to find that out. Instead of saving time I actually wasted time. I could have gone to the store, made a purchase at 9 o'clock this morning and been out of there without a hassle. read more

Finally my daughter got the help she needed!!!! We have gone to multiple locations to try and get my 19 year matched with the right foundation, well sad to say we have tried Sephora on multiple occasions, Ulta on two occasions and even this Macy's at their benefit and MAC counters , but every time we would get home or my daughter would wear her makeup out doors her make up was either too dark, too light or too much red tone on her face! But not today , thanks to Brittany from their Smashbox makeup counter! She was so helpful and friendly! She matched my daughter with the correct color foundation. She answered all our questions, and we had a lot ....glad we found someone that's so knowledgeable with the brand she works with! Definitely going back with her for more make up! read more
