Very bad experience today in the shoe department at Macy's. I was trying to pay part of my purchase with a gift card and the rest with another payment method, but my items ended up getting scanned twice and it turned into a huge waste of time. It honestly seemed like some employees were not properly trained to handle something as basic as a split payment. On top of that, several employees appeared more focused on laughing and talking than helping customers professionally. I hope someone from Macy's sees this. I want to fisrt say that I am 42 years old and a recovering addict and no matter where I go I have anxiety. I have a major wedding that I'm attending in a week and I haven't shopped for a suit in over a decade. Also, I'm in sales. With that said, Isaac was absolutely amazing! I approached him and said "I need help finding a suit." I was dredding shopping because I've never been good at it but Isaac helped me find the best suit/outfit for my brother's wedding. From basic measurements to full on suit, shirt & tie and even socks, shoes and belt. Isaac walked me the whole way through in Avery warm and enthusiastic way. I entered Macys from the mall. I was on the second floor where there are several departments for women. I've been to second hand stores that are neater and better organized than Macy's. Most sections had a disarray of clothing. Not organized by sizes. Things were mixed together looking like a bargain basement. Clothes are on the floor. I was disgusted by the atmosphere. The lingerie area was neat and organized. But by the time I got here, I was fatigued and didn't stop to try the bras. To their credit, the restroom was clean. I do not recommend giving any of your business to this Macy's location. This review is based on my interaction with Mary Anne and her manager at the online customer service desk. My husband gifted me a $100 Macy's gift card last Christmas and I finally had an occasion to use it online. To my surprise, when I scratched off the back of the gift card to upload the gc pin information, the 4 digit PIN number was also scratched off (disabling me from use of the card). When I presented my case to Mary Anne at the store, along with a gift card receipt with a current card value of $100, she stated she would not be able to confirm the balance without the 4-digit PIN code. She scanned the card and tried multiple pin combinations (as there were 2 digits of the pin intact). She was able to randomly enter one 4-digit combo and stated there was a $0 balance on the card (though it had never been used and the gift card tender receipt stated "this card does not expire and no fees are imposed". She handed the card to her manager and explained the situation, giving me hope that my issue would be resolved. The manager also scanned the card and attempted the PIN code that Mary Anne had informed worked, yet resulted in a $0.00 balance. She tried a few more times and then stated she would try to replace the card but the balance said $0.00 so she could not give me a replacement. I asked her how she knew the PIN number she entered correctly identified my gift card and she said that she didn't need a PIN code and that the balance would have populated. Then she said to come back with the receipt (which I reminded is probably not available since it's been 6 months past) and then they would be able to help. I went to this Macy's location specifically because this was the one my husband purchased the card from. I was able to provide the Customer Copy tender receipt to the rep and they were unable to come to a satisfactory resolution (as the line began to form, that was when I was dismissed and informed they wouldn't be able to assist without a receipt). I five this place a half star if I could, as this issue is no fault of my own and the customer service rep could have cared less. read more

Sat 7/26/2025 I am so disappointment with the customer service I received from a supervisor or manager named Monse in the fine jewelry department. Her behavior during my recent visit was unacceptable. I came in to make a return and was waiting patiently for assistance. I understand that helping another customer takes time, but I observed two employees assisting one person while I was left waiting with no acknowledgment. When Iapproached to ask when I might be helped, Monse responded in a rude and dismissive tone. Rather than offering a polite update or showing basic courtesy, she seemed offended by my question and spoke to me in a condescending manner.It appeared she may have been handling a sale and possibly felt entitled to prioritize that over respectful customer interaction. However, no manager should speak to a customer this way. If this is the standard of leadership, I believe a reevaluation of management training is needed. Secret shopper evaluations and stronger oversight might help identify and correct these types of behaviors. I'm not sure who Monse reports to, but I strongly urge that someone address her customer service approach. No customer should be made to feel ignored or disrespected read more

In the fragrance department, Mary was the most helpful person I came across. I was looking to buy my first Marc Jacobs perfume since I've always wanted one. She was super nice and conversational, she had the best attitude and a really nice vibe to her. She helped me pick out which I liked the most, even recommended I spray some on myself just to see how it stayed. When I told her I got paid the next day she happily said she would put one on hold for me just in case. Anyways because of how she recommend spraying some on myself, I was for sure able to pick the best one for me. She was the best and thank her for my first pick. Macy's sold us a Cal King mattress by "Hotel Collection * The Vitagenic Mattress by aireloom" in November 2015 and didn't stand behind us when we asked for a partial refund or new mattress. We worked with Marjan Samakar, the sales woman, and of course she no longer works for Macys. We wanted a very firm mattress and one that would not end up with a huge hump in the middle like so many past mattresses have. The mattress was very expensive, $9,000, we paid the sales price of $5,900 for the California King. We were up in the air on the sale, due to the price, but Marjan assured us that if we ever, ever, ever had any problems with the mattress she would personally handle the problem for us (she worked there for over 25 years) and gave us her business card (Silver Million Dollar Club) to seal the deal. She also claimed that her Manager would always take care of us if there should be a problem. Three years later the mattress was failing badly. Both sides were sunken where we each slept and there was a big hump in the middle, so high that we couldn't cuddle and sleep together. I called Marjan and left her messages for help and she never called back. I ultimately found out that she no longer worked there. My husband got cancer and I wasn't able to follow up on my call. He has recovered, but it took time. I've called Macys for help on the mattress many times over the past 3 years for help, but to no avail. The mattress was ridiculously expensive and our anger became daily. We paid good money, and a lot of it, and this is what we got! From Macys, a "big brand" good rep company we thought. Finally after two days of going through their automated telephone service, I got a Supervisor on the phone and after a day or two of haggling, they sent out a mattress technician on April 7, 2021. He took pictures of the mattress with the "hump", the indentation measured 1 1/4" but told us the indentations on each side of the "hump" had to be 1 1/2" lower than the height of the hump for them to do anything! How crazy is that? So Macys basically sold us 2-twin bed mattresses stuck together with a "hump", and they have refused to do anything about it for 5 years, after many, many complaints, and calls for help by us. We even offered to pay half the cost of a replacement mattress, but they said no! Bad, bad, bad vibes from them! This should be a warning to anyone thinking about buying a mattress from Macys! Went there to pick up an order as a favor for my mom, lady asked if we had the same last name (to check my ID for pickup) not only do we have the same name but also the same address. My mom had sent me the email with the pickup barcode and everything and she told me she couldn't process it that I had to be on the pickup guest list and that my mom could try adding me online, well she should've known that at Macy's after you place an order you only have 15-30 mins to make any changes, obviously it's past that timeframe if It's already available for picking. But she didn't know or failed to mentioned that, convenient for her but not for me. I totally understand not allowing me to do it for security purposes HOWEVER, I contacted customer service myself through the online chat and have a screen shot (see attachments) of them BLATANTLY STATING that if you want to designate a person to pick up your items for you all they need is a copy of the order information (which my mom had already emailed me) I go back and get a new cashier (thank God) and she takes my ID and tells me she'll do it BuT OnLy BeCAuSe we have the same last name and she's only going to do it this one time. I show her the screenshot of my conversation with customer service and point out that there are no explicit restrictions to who can pick up and she continues to talk over me. I just cut my losses -- at this point I'm just going to be happy they're letting me pick it up. ALL OF THIS FOR A SHIRT THAT MY MOM PAID $7.13 FOR. I am also writing a second half to this review on behalf of my mom who doesn't know how to use technology (i.e., see above, adding me to her pickup list). My mom went to make a payment in store with cash, had her ID, social and everything and they told her they couldn't process a payment without the card or bill. She thinks it's interesting how she can run all around Macy's and rack up her bill with nothing but her ID, Social, and the last 4 digits of the card but God forbid when it comes to making a payment they can't look up that info. read more

This Macy's was awful for order pick up! I parked in the designated space as requested on my ready for pick up email. After calling and speaking with an associate for curbside pickup, I waited in my car for 15 minutes (before the Christmas rush). Nobody came out, so I decided to walk in. To my surprise, the order pickup counter is right when you walk in the door. Expecting a long line for delay, I was surprised to find no line and 4 employees standing behind the counter. I informed them that I was waiting in curbside and then they went to get the order. Moral of the story, skip the curbside pickup it takes longer than just going in the store. read more

Just popped in to get some new jean shorts for the season. Although they are expensive this is usually the best place to get quality jeans. I really wish they had directories. It was very hard to find where to go and then couldn't find anyone to help us! But eventually made it. Had some good options and even cuter fitting rooms. Got what we needed and checked out in a flash. I think they even had a sale going on of buy one get one 50% off so that was nice! When it comes to jeans or shoes or fancy wear this is the place. Gift Card Users Beware Recently, I have had very negative experiences with Macy's and their lack of customer service. I used a Macy's gift card on 2/6/24 to complete an online purchase. For some unknown reason, their computer software processed the gift card, gave a system error message, and cancelled the order. Unfortunately, the amount used on the gift card was NOT refunded when the system cancelled the order. I have talked to over 10 customer service representatives who have all assued me "not to worry" "everything is handled" and "you will receive a new gift card". After 20 days, the new gift card has not been received. Three people that I have spoken to have promised to call me back to ensure that all if good; however, no one has called back and the amount has yet to be refuned. I have been told to expect a refund or new gift card within 24-28 hours, then I was told 7-10 days, then I was told up to 30 days, and finally today I was told up to 60 days. I am not convinced, based on these varying messages, that I will ever receive the refund/gift card that is owed to me. So this review is to alert gift card users to possible difficulties. read more

Out for some holiday shopping. Signs everywhere tout "Earn $10 for every $50 spent. I bought 2 shirts at a cost of $60 plus. But because we had them ring as two separate purchases, they couldn't give me the $10 rewards cash. Ok, understand cashier not prepared for that. So we went to Customer Service to explain and ask for the rewards cash. I'd spent the money, surely this is just a technical thing a Manager can over ride??? Manager refused to do it. I really hate to say it but I really feel like feel like the color of my skin, dreadlocks and clothing played a huge part in my experience today. I am very disappointed, humiliated annoyed with how I was treated at Macy's today. To summarize, I basically purchased a pair of shoes online to be shipped to the store for free. I did not pick up my order From the store within the allotted time frame so my order was canceled. This was OK by me because I had changed my mind about the shoes anyway. So I arrived at the store a couple of weeks later to get my refund since I never picked up the item. The ladies at the customer service desk basically tried to accuse me of previously picking up the item because they could not find it in their system. I repeatedly told them that I had not been inside of the store and that there was no way I could have picked up the item or received a refund for it. Then they proceeded to change their statement and instead of saying I picked up the item they stated that they refunded my American Express card Which I don't understand because I don't own an American Express card And my original payment method was a Macys gift card. So I literally show them all of my receipts & emails showing the transactions but that still wasn't sufficient. . They made me feel as though I was trying to get over on them or that I was lying. So after standing there for about 20 minutes or so I finally asked if the associate if she could get her supervisor to assist. She ignored me and continued to try to figure out where my item was for another 10 minutes and then finally called a supervisor. This supervisor also could not find it and was lacking experience and knowledge and again tried to insinuate that I already picked up the shoes. Finally after over 30 minutes another supervisor or manager was called who came logged into the computer and within 3 minutes was able to find my order and see that it had never been returned or picked up and issued me a refund quickly. I appreciate that supervisor however no one ever apologized to me. The customer service in this in this particular Macy's sucks. read more

Don't come here if you want to get your watch/band resized. They have no idea what they are talking about and just turn you away because they don't know how to do it. Came in because I got a Seiko watch as a gift. I was told I can go to any Macy's watch department and they will resize it as long as I had a proof of purchase. First off, the dude asked with hostility "do you have a receipt?". I said "of course, you need to see it?" He said, "no it's ok, how can I help you?" I asked to get resize because I like my watches to be more fitted. He looked at it, within 3 seconds, he said that he wouldn't recommend it because it'll be too tight. I told him I hate how loose it is. He said there's nothin I can do and you will feel uncomfortable. Then some lady Rowena came by and said "these bands are hard to resize and I wouldn't recommend resizing it." Ok lady, that's great, but I want what I want. They then turned away and didn't acknowledge me after because they thought I agreed with them. Fine, if they don't want to resize it, I'll go to a REAL watch maker who will do what I ask. I ended up going to a small establish business that fix watches and was gladly to resize it and now it fits perfect. Macy's hires anyone. Even at a watch department where you're spending easily $100+ on a watch. The least they can do is hire someone who knows what they are talking about. My expectations for service in the retail space are generally pretty low, especially around the holidays. So getting better than normal service is a pleasant surprise. On Friday, Christmas can early in terms of service. When i received what can only be described as exceptional service. I was looking for the Buffalo brand jeans and had searched all of the displays. Coming out of the dressing room with a different brand i was met by an exceptional young woman named Kendall. I gave them to her and said i need a different size. She asked what size and told me to wait, in less than a minute she was back. I had resolved myself to getting the brand i didn't care for. I mentioned the Buffalo jeans she said , "I'll find them for you what size do you need?" Within a couple minutes she found me two pairs in the color i needed. Then she asked if i needed anything else. I asked about button down collar dres shirts, she took me over too the area. We could not find what i needed. She took me back over to the fragrances. It was like having my own personal concierge. Employees like Kendall are what creates brand loyalty! read more

Ok so why do I have an email to pick up she said well sometimes it's not ready yet because it's coming from another store or out of state ok??? I wanted to write this review based on how frustrating our experience was when my sister was trying to buy sandals at the women's shoes department. We were here on Saturday around 11am. First of all, there weren't anyone on the floor to assist on sizing but luckily we found ones that were what she was looking for and fit her. There was a counter where everyone was lining up and 2 people were assisting customers. The line had a sign that said "size check", so I was confused why we had to get in line for size check when we just wanted to pay and leave. 1st lady comes out and tells us that this line is for sizing and there is a sign on the other side of the counter that says "check out", and that is where we get in line to check out. I told my sister to go to the check out line and she did, but 2nd lady comes out and says that we had to go back to the "size check" line because we need to get a BOX for the shoes! It sounds ridiculous to me that we HAVE to get the box when we don't want the box and were in a hurry to leave. After getting yelled at by the second lady, we went back to the size check line and had to wait even longer. Then guess what, as we get closer to the check out all of a sudden they start allowing people to check out on the check out sign line and completely ignores the fact that they told 10 other people to stay in sizing line to check out. What a joke! My sister was very frustrated by this experience and so was I! Either the 2 ladies that were working there had no idea how to handle this much crowd or they are severely understaffed. Regardless they were rude and not helpful. They were creating an unnecessary line when it could have been handled more efficiently. Why were there only 2 assistants to assist with sizing and check out customers for this department when there were other check out areas with literally 0 customers. It does not make sense to me and very happy to say that I don't ever have to be back to this place. read more
