Macy's hasn't changed a lot in the last ten years. The store is clean. Employees are friendly. A lot of merchandise to choose feom - large clothing selection. This visit there were a ton of sales, so it might be a good value. Check the sales ads for extra savings and bargains. Not a large sock/hosiery selection. Macy's has changed up there chwckout processes. Instead of checking out at the counters, there are two checkouts per floor. Be aware of this because the lines do get long. read more

Macy's was our original destination when we decided to hit up Tucson Mall for a little shopping while in town. What we expected and what we encountered were two wildly different things, especially from a Men's clothing perspective. The selection and variety of men's clothing was very underwhelming and disappointing. Also, the organization of the area was well below the standards I am used to for a Macy's. Service was not much better. We spent a solid 10 minutes and was never greeted or spoken to by any associate in any section. Another oddity for Macy's. I've only done a return at this location and the service was quick. You can find great bargains at Macy's if you have time to look. The store is pretty big and has a huge selection of everything. I do love their shoes especially the JBU brand. I've got them in three different colors and two styles for Arizona terrain. Macy's has a sale going every week or so. I hadn't been to Macy's in over a year. Some things had been moved and some things seemed to be more limited. They have the same shoe section with a fair collection marked by brand name. Women's clothes were also separated by brand which is helpful if you are inclined to choose by brand. There seemed to be fewer options than I remember. One of the things new to me was the "backstage" area on the second floor which has a variety of sales items. They had clothes by size and gender. There were home goods, beauty products and some other items. The parking is available by the lower floor which is covered and two entrances on the upper floor, one by the backstage section. It's possible to order online and pickup at the store also. read more

I went to Macy's at the Tucson Mall to return an item, however I didn't have the receipt. Evelyn and Linda were amazing! I think Linda is a manager and she was able to find my return on my credit card and refund the amount. They were patient and extremely helpful, went the extra mile to solve the problem. I've had a Macy's credit card for 43 years through all their changes of cards. Ie: them, banks, and who knows what other nefarious financial institutions. Today I attempted to purchase a few items. Didn't have my credit card with me but was assured by the salesperson that showing my AZ driver license (real ID) that it would be no problem. After 3 attempts of salesperson scanning my license, me entering social, I was told "didn't go through"& then "not approved". Hmmm very odd since I have no balance due and a decent line of credit. I was asked if I had used the card recently, informed them I had & it's a relatively new card (from a financial institution). #1 I had used the card recently however why should it matter if I hadn't!!!!! .#2 I should have had them void the whole transaction but decided to pay with a bank card which is better anyway b/c I get points for purchases & Macy's awards very few points until u purchase 100's of dollars of merchandise! .#3 this store looks like a thrift store with racks of clothes that aren't organized AT all & styles/colors that I'm not sure are wearable as a Halloween costumes!!! The next day I attempted to get a refund. They insisted their system showed I was only billed once. These people are impervious. Chase was able to resolve the mess that Macy's created. Just unreal. I asked for a color correction for about an inch on my route I had bright blonde hair at the end of the appointment that took four hours and costed me $300 that I didn't know I was going to be spending until I got there. I walked out with dark brown with undertones of red in my hair from top to bottom. Costco did not style my hair I had to leave with wet hair so I didn't even know the true color of it I also had to pay before the toner was even out of my hair so I didn't even know what color my hair was when I was paying. I came back the next day asking for a refund and they told me they need to investigate it and then they cannot guarantee me a refund even though what I was given was the exact opposite of what I asked for Andrew in the thousands of dollars in five years it took for me to get a perfect blonde in my hair. read more

After today's visit, I am cancelling my Macy's credit card and have no plans to return, especially to this particular location. The main issue was the customer service, or lack thereof. The associates I encountered were Debbie and her boss Anna Lisa. Debbie had a serious lack of enthusiasm and seemed annoyed that I had a few questions. Anna Lisa was not much better. I was interested in purchasing a pair of pants, but the hangers the store used had damaged the pant material. I asked if there was any way they could discount the item, since it had been damaged. Debbie assured me that it would come out in the wash, but I was skeptical, so Anna Lisa was summoned. She said that the hangers had indeed damaged the material, but if she gave a discount (maximum of 10%) then I would not be able to return the pants if the issue wasn't resolved after washing them. She then asked me how I wore my shirts: untucked or tucked in, and pointed out that if I wore a tucked out shirt with these pants--like I was today--no one would see the damage. The comment was completely irrelevant, and honestly stupid, because no matter how I choose to wear the item, the item should not be damaged in the first place. She then told me that I should not purchase the item, which absolutely boggled my mind. You work in retail and you are literally dissuading a customer from spending money? I'm sure corporate would love that. Furthermore, Anna Lisa played the blame game and tried to say it was corporate's fault since they sent those hangers. But you work in the store and you oversaw employees damaging items? Why didn't you alert corporate then? It's moments like this that it becomes clear why Macy's isn't doing very well and why they're shutting down so many locations. Finally, for the purchase I did make, the coupons Macy's sent me did not apply, so what the heck? Why even send them? Debbie seemed happy to inform me that the coupons did not apply. Service at this location has always been good. Employees have always made sure to give me any additional discounts that I don't know about/require a coupon or code. For example I thought some clothes I was looking at was 25% off MSRP. Turns out it was 50% off and then an additional 20%. I ended up buying 4 more items than I would have. They have a decent Men's selection and is the only Macy's in Tucson that carries Armani. read more

I'm not a even semi-frequent patron of Macy's. Quite frankly, it's overpriced for the product it provides. That goes for clothes, jewelry, accessories, bedding and practically every product they sell. The reason this location gets a three star rating instead of a two is how well I was treated by a sales associate while attempting to purchase a holiday gift for my wife. She was sensational when it came to customer service and her attentiveness was enough to keep me in the area but not overwhelming to the point where I wanted to leave, which has happened at virtually every department store I have ever stepped foot in, I forgot her name, which is unfortunate, but my experience with her alone makes me want to come back in when it's time to do some sort of shopping that would compel me to go to Macy's. I'm glad they have great prices, otherwise I'd have to give less stars for the less-than-stellar service. I got a pair of shoes yesterday that were regular $89 for $22!! I was so happy - they're exactly what I had been looking for. At first I found a pair on the clearance rack that I wanted to try on, but finding a sales person was another story. After I finally got some help, the sales person was gone for, oh, about 15 minutes! I peeked around the corner looking for her, when finally she appeared and said she couldn't find the shoe's mate. Thank goodness I saw another pair that I liked even more, and made my purchase. I wandered over to another department seeking some help with fitting, but no one was to be found. I gave up. I think this Macy's and I are growing apart. It's a nicer place to be, and much closer to me than the somewhat rundown 1960's-built Park Place location, but the service is nearly non-existent, and the service that you do get is woefully mediocre. Not to mention, I don't find the selection to be all that great compared to the Park Place location. Also, expect the escalators to be in some state of disrepair; it's a guarantee that you'll be seeking out the elevator way at the corner of the massive store. It's a real shame.
