This was a decent sandwich experience, and my first time trying Potbelly. There was a huge line this Saturday at lunchtime probably because they are one of the few eateries open in this plaza on weekends. They have a pretty large menu of sandwiches with unique names, and they offer three different sizes which is cool. They also offer soup and mac and cheese which is a nice addition. I wasn't totally sure if all their sandwiches are hot or toasted or if some of them are cold options. The whole process probably took about 30 minutes from entering line to walking away with my order. I opted for a grilled chicken breast sub. You order at the first part of the line and then walk down a little ways where another staff asks you what vegetables you want. They have a very limited selection of vegetables compared to what Subway offers, and you cannot view all the choices through the counter glass window like you can at Subway. They have a selection of sauces as well, and they list the calories on all the sauces which is a nice touch for those keeping track. They have a small soda fountain with the usual selections where you can help yourself. The staff were friendly, and the cashier was really encouraging her colleagues to hustle since the line was so long. I found the sandwich pretty tasty although it did seem very heavily toasted as the bread was very crunchy. Overall this was a decent choice for lunch, but I don't know if they are quite as good as Subway in my opinion.

I ordered at a time I knew they would be busy so I left a very generous tip to try to make up for the inconvenience of an additional order, had to wait a long time for my food as i expected so that's not anything I'm upset about however the worker handed me my food very aggressively then when i got my food they had put chicken on my sandwich which was a grilled cheese with no cheese again I can understand how this could happen if I ordered in person since they also have a grilled chicken but the way you make online orders at potbelly is by looking at the ticket and nowhere on the ticket did it say chicken as I'm vegetarian that was a big problem for me however I also understand how swamped they were with orders so I didn't want to put the burden of making another sandwich on them and also did not want to wait another half an hour at least for my food. I understand problems happen and everyone's human and if it had been one issue i wouldnt have cared but it was a plethora of bad experiences tonight.

I used to stop by Potbelly often but job changes and this pandemic has changed many things for me. I went in an they had a new menu that includes breakfast sandwiches too. I had to try them. It was delicious and it didn't disappoint. I can't wait to go back for some more goodness.

This is the saddest gyro I've ever seen.

He knew I was trying to decide and poured me a sample of his favorite without me even needing to ask, and it was a great call. There's a certain cozy energy in this place with the dim-but-not-dark lighting that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy some food and drink. I had the prime rib french dip and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. Wood + Paddle is located inside of the Royal, it's their hotel restaurant. On my first night in Minneapolis, I'd arrived to the hotel for check-in around dinner time. Not sure where to go and tired from the flight, I headed down to the lobby and walked over. When I asked if I could get a table for 1, she asked me if I would be comfortable with eating at the bar. It was a Sunday night, so I think she wanted to reserve tables for parties of two or more. I was fine with it, but I noticed there were quite a few empty tables. A few days later, I had lunch with a colleague here. We got seated at a table, and the service was really good. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we kept our lunch within our time requirements so we could get back to the conference without issue. The food was really good. I tried to order or sample local or MN specialties during my trip. Below are the menu items that I tried: - Bison Burger with Fries - State Fair Cheese Curds (w/ house made, smoked ketchup) - Pork Chop (w/ a Norwegian inspired sauce) - Habanero Wings

The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.

I stopped in around 1 p.m., and there was a steady flow of people coming in for lunch. It also seemed like there were quite a few regulars, which is always a good sign! I loved that I could get there through the skyway. Once inside, there's plenty of seating, but you'll want to head toward the back to order. They have separate made-to-order lines for wraps and salads and for burgers. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger with a side of coleslaw for around $14, which I thought was pretty reasonable for a made-to-order burger downtown. My food came out surprisingly quickly! The burger was juicy with plenty of mushrooms and melted Swiss, plus fresh lettuce and tomato. The coleslaw was also really good--finely chopped, refreshing, well-seasoned, and not overly vinegary. One of my favorite little touches was the complimentary infused-water station. I tried the watermelon water, and after walking around downtown on a summer day, it was SO refreshing! There's plenty of seating, including booths by the windows where you can sit and people-watch while you eat. Between the quick service, good food, reasonable price, and comfortable seating, Dave's is a great option for a casual downtown lunch. I'd definitely stop in again if I'm in the area!
