A promising start! Good chicken sammich and well-fried onion rings. I will be back for another try before long. Tender Lovin Chix moved into a sizable brick&mortar restaurant out of what I assume was a successful food truck. My to-go order came out of the kitchen quickly (~10 min) which I appreciate but I waited awkwardly at the host stand and ordered food from the bar. There seems to be table service but only one server for the whole dining room and no host. Hopefully it's just a wrinkle that will get smoothed out over time. There are TVs all over the place so the game is the vibe. The interior is clean and there's a spacious bar that looks comfortable to eat and drink at. There is plenty of seating inside and also patio chairs and tables on the sidewalk. You'll find a few parking spaces out back. So, it's got more going than your average sports bar but still seems like more of a casual spot than sit-down dining. My chicken sandwich was juicy inside and crispy outside with a buttery soft bun holding it all together. The side of fried rice had a good texture and mild, pleasant flavor. The onion rings were classic - thick and fried crisp. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. It's real comfort food that will hit just right when paired with a beer or cocktail and a win from your favorite local sports team. I didn't see many veggie options on the menu which was not a surprise. Bottom line - if you want some fried chicken, this spot is worth a shot.

I love the food here! It's close to my house and I wasn't sure if I would like it but I do I ordered it from DoorDash and then I went in the other day to pick it up myself and it's super cute inside and they have cocktails and happy hour so I definitely will be back. The girl behind the counter was very friendly.

Hey Travoodies Hey ... I tried it! I have been hearing about this place for some time, and recently I ventured to check them out. I honestly can say that the fried rice was yum. Like covered with some yum sauce (that's homemade), and cooked perfectly. Nothing against this spot because I absolutely loved the vibe and the bartender was super friendly and made a delightful drink. The red aura of the space ; red being my favorite color easily attracted me to the space and the excitement from the staff made me interested in sharing from the menu. For Me... I think I'm just not a panko crusted type of girlie. However I would go back and order the fried rice. The drink was a hit with me I forgot the name but it was on their Christmas list. I can definitely see going back for drinks and the catch the games.

When we visited for the first time Tricks made a good first impression, we visited Sunday night so it wasn't busy. The chicken potstickers were good, and so were the onion rings. I really enjoyed the Lyndale mule. However I did not like the birria tacos, maybe I'll try the rush hour next time. The seating was a bit uncomfortable for me personally and the TV was loud and it was hard to have a conversation. Parking lot available behind the building, there is also free street and paid parking as well.

One visit review Back and forth tween three and four Price gouging, so three Been anxiously waiting for this place to open. Took over the space of my favorite local beer bar. The beer selection pales in comparison, obvi. Four basic beers on tap pales in comparison to their predecessor. The food was really good. Got the Rush Hour 4 which is described on the menu as Tendies, TLC yum sauce, Tokyo fried rice. Tendies were great! Nice, light, crisp breading. Felt like I got up charged though. Before I ordered, saw what a guy next to me got as that is what I wanted. Asked if it was the chicken fried rice. She said no, it was the Rush Hour 4. Looked at the menu. $17. Done deal, give me what he's having. Bill came. Add on charge of $6 for chicken fried rice. Maybe a failure to communicate on both of our parts, but an extra $6 for chicken in your fried rice?! It is only two dollars extra for chicken in your Tokyo fried rice on the menu. I should have protested more than I did before I rolled over on the deal. Shady, shady as all hell. My return is possible, but somewhat iffy.

We finally had time to check this new restaurant out in south Minneapolis. We came during the weekdays knowing that street parking would be hard to find. Luckily we found a spot down the street. Mix fusion between asian and American. My friend has been craving onion rings and had to order it. I ordered the salt and pepper wings, the jalapeños were there as dressing, however it wasn't spicy. There was 1 server that worked the bar and tables. I was impressed how attentive she was to every table until someone in the back came out to help her. Big dining area with mostly high tops. I had wished the chairs had a backrest to lean on, but the lower tables had some. My friend likes the fusion, I'm more on the authentic side.

This place is way better than you think. Black owned business in uptown. The food, service, and drinks are all high quality and very good! Go check them out soon

They did their thing with this one. The wings were awesome, the chicken sandwich was too! And the f'n Beef Bulgogi Bowl, SMACKS!!! Game day specials on beer $20 for a 5 beer bucket. And $4 shots! You're missing out if you don't check it out !! Bartender was super attentive and they were playing the game WITH the sound. There's not a better spot in uptown for a casual night out.

Everything tasted under seasoned, but most of chicken was cooked well. I did enjoy the breading. Sauces were underwhelming. Nice open space. Slow service even though it was empty.

    Rush Hour

So yummy! Chicken is fried so good and you have to try some of their other sauces with the chicken! Service could be a bit better, but overall good spot to go with friends!

Best chicken in MN and the sauce is awesome. I would recommend the Rush Hour and the Chicken Sandwich. Friendly staff and chill environment.

The chicken was cooked perfectly, the rice was really good. The chicken tenders are HUGE, just 1 is more than enough to fill you up.

Would you be kind enough to share with me the location of the food truck? I see the area on the map but what would I plug into my GPS to get a bite of this famed chicken? Thanks!

Hi Scot, our food truck is closed for the winter. We are opening a restaurant at 2700 Lyndale Ave s. Probably in early April of this year. Thanks

Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular. With all that said, however, I still will return here as often as I can because I love supporting this business. The person serving me was very hospitable and patient. I still got some pretty solid barbeque even if it's not Texas. Besides, outside just the barbeque food, the soul food was solid, like I had mentioned above.

They offer whole chicken, boneless and regular wings in 14 different seasoning, (Not all of the seasonings are available for the whole chicken) along with a big variety of sides. As we looked over the menu a staff member greeted us and let us look at the menu for a bit and then offered to answer any questions. We asked about a couple of the flavor options, they offered us a small sample of the seasoning to help us decide. We chose the small honey garlic wings and a small Gangnam style wings. A small is 8 wings, a medium is 16 wings and a large is 24 wings. The wings themselves are good sized. We also ordered the cheesling fries which was also a very generous portion. The wings were very crisp and hot when they came out. The kept there crunch through our whole meal! I was impressed that the breading didn't start to get soggy. The Gangnam Style was sweet and salty with a little spiciness. It was spicy for me, but very tasty. I would be able to enjoy a couple pieces but the heat would eventually get to be too much for me. The honey garlic had no spicy rating. They were a nice complement to the spicy option we chose. This is a small restaurant with about 15 tables. One negative point is the lack of ventilation in the store, we sat there for about 45min total including ordering and eating our meals and we reeked of fry oil.
