As a transplant from Texas, I missed Whataburger til a friend of ours told me about MAD COW. He kept telling me, "it's the closest thing to a Whataburger you'll find." Well he was wrong! I hate to admit it but I liked the Mad Cow cheeseburger a tad better! The addition of grilled jalapenos, onions and all the fixins made this a burger well worth the trip! Visited establishment yesterday evening. The only customers there were a mother and her young daughter, myself, and 4 employees. No warm welcome at all. Service taking the order was like pulling teeth. However the quality, speed, & cost made the visit completely worth it! Bacon Cheese Burger(Regular) which was the size of softball, Fries, & Large Soda for $12 ish. I strongly recommend giving this place a try just for the food but not for the service. read more

I went in once and have been utterly confused ever since. When I saw the name, I pictured something like Willy Wonka only with meaty goodness. That someone had finally perfected the burger with his genius concoctions, a mad scientist if you will. And he opened a resturaunt to explore the boundries of what a burger could and should be. With the world at his feet and the patty as his canvas, I expected there to be a wide range of burgers, all with hidden treasures of flavors that awaited me. There are 2 burgers... a single and a double. Cheese is a topping and therefor does not constitute as another burger. It was a lot like walking into an icecream shop that only sold vanilla icecream with all the toppings everyone else had, only more expensive. This was a very good choice for hamburgers! Found them on Yelp and was very glad I did. It was 4 girlfriends who each found something good to eat and everyone enjoyed the speed in which we received our food. Patties are smaller than 5 guys fries, buns are great (Sarah Lee Hearty) fries were a little chewy and greasy for my taste. No towels I the bathroom. We just moved to the area & we prefer non-chain or independent restaurants. This place was great for lunch. We all had burgers & fries; except my 6 y/o who had the kids chicken tenders. My husband & I both got bacon on our burgers & the bacon was nice & crispy. My husband usually isn't a huge fan of fries but really enjoyed the ones here. Great prices!! I'm aware that a grilled cheese sandwich may not be your specialty (although it's on your menu) but to say that you simply cannot put condiments on the sandwich, and your only answer as to why is "that's not how we cook them," then perhaps you should spend more time to practice making the grilled cheese with condiments. It doesn't seem that difficult, after all your grilled cheese is nothing more than one slice of ordinary cheese placed between two of your greasy buns. You certainly had enough time to individually put each condiment I ordered in its own container as a lazy, half-hearted attempt to remedy the issue, but if I wanted to make my own sandwich then I could have easily saved my money and made the sandwich at home. Instead, I was fooled by your so called ability to utilize your array of condiments and paid you for giving me the experience of making my own sandwich. read more

So I guess I'll start with the positive. Their beef tacos are pretty good. That being said, it's a burger joint, so I'm not sure why they have tacos to begin with, but they are good. Now, all the negatives. We placed an order online to have delivered to our office. When the food shows up, it was hot, and looked good. However, my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with swiss (and nothing else on it). What he got was a bacon cheeseburger with swiss and literally every possible topping they have. I also ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I ended up taking the bacon off because it wasn't cooked in a way that is conducive to eating on a sandwich. The fat was still very chewy, so I ended up pulling whole stripes of bacon out by my teeth. While I did ask for mayo and lettuce, they put a salad's worth of lettuce and globs of mayo on it. I now have a raw onion flavor in my mouth that tastes like I picked up an onion and ate it like an apple. All of the pickles were in one corner of the burger. The meat itself was cooked properly, but had zero flavor. I don't know if they season the meat prior to cooking it (which is what you should do). If they do, it's subtle enough that the meat just tastes bland. All in all, this was a very sloppy burger with little payoff. I don't mind getting a little messy eating a burger, but it had better be worth the mess, and this wasn't. The receipt said our food was made by Ahmed and clearly he has a lot to learn about making burgers. I would also like to note that, when my husband called them to let them know about the mistake and request a replacement, the manager was extremely rude. When my husband let him know what happened, he snottily replied "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" and told him he could "Send him a replacement another day." When my husband requested another burger be made and sent today (which seems reasonable) he refused. When Rhonda from MizzMenues (who the order was placed through) called them, and Sidanja told her we could come pick up a new one. Being at work, that's not really an option. When I pay $30 for a product, I expect to get that product the way I ordered it. This is clearly not a promise that Mad Cow or MizzMenus can deliver on. read more

First time here and I came in expecting much better. The presentation of the store is simple and nice, appears to be a good burger joint. Cashier was less than friendly and I was given a small drink with my combo (16 Oz). I'm not sure but that doesn't seem correct, I assume I would get the typical soda cup size? After receiving my food I noticed they left the lettuce off my burger also... one of the 2 items I requested to be ON the burger. The fries are good though with the seasoning that they put on. Overall this place is basically a knock off of Five Guys. It isn't bad, but it's nothing that I would go out of my way to try again. $8 for my combo that was missing lettuce and had too small of a drink and fries. read more

We love Mad Cow! It's our favorite burger place in Columbia! Burgers and fries are made to order so its always fresh and hot. Their Mad Cow Sauce is a must have for our burgers and our fries. They often have a Groupon deal so you can try it out for cheap, once you do though you'll want to go back for sure! Friendly, fast service and a clean restaurant. I like taking my family here. It was 8:50pm on a Saturday and the place was open when I pulled over. I saw a guy entering the place while I turned off my truck. When I walked in the guy was walking out cursing out loud. I thought it was some crazy dude and walked to the counter. The guy behind it did not greet me but simply said: "sir, we're closed"... I asked again to confirm: "Closed?". The guy said: "Yes, it is 8:52pm and it would take 10 minutes to prepare anything, so...". I was so disappointed that I couldn't say a word and just left the place without believing what I had just heard. Mad Cow is local clone of Five Guys. They are located in a non descriptive strip mall with non descriptive decor. The quality of the service and food is anything but though. Price is comparable other burger joints. Plenty of fries to go with the burger. All of the food is prepared directly for you. It's hot and fresh. Would recommend anyone that like burgers to try it at least once. You will go back a second and third time. read more
